We rode the SnowCoach - Ron was our guide up the Auto Road of Mt Washington and he was fantastic. They were very helpful getting my dad - who uses a wheelchair- into the coach. The views at the top were epic though you don't get to the summit. The OutdoorCenter also offers snowshoeing and fat biking and snow tubing and cross country skiing too. Lots to do here with miles of trails. Well worth the price! read more

Went XC Skiing there with our dog because they said there's dog friendly trails. Don't be fooled by this they basically have one loop trail that's 2.5 miles and it was a huge climb for the first .5 after that it alternated between climbing and coasting downhill. We finished that and asked where else we could go with the dog and that was about it. It's false advertising to say they have dog trails. We were ski journeying too so the dog wasn't off leash either. The worker we asked about more terrain was very rude. Bear Notch is way better than this place. read more

We took the 10:30AM Snow Coach and it was FANTASTIC! Our driver, whose name I can't remember (sorry!), was very knowledgeable, friendly, and a great guide/driver. Once at the top, about 4000ft, we got out and took pictures! The van was quite toasty, but I'd recommend bringing a nice winter jacket, hat, gloves, and snow boots. Some folks wear winter pants, but you might overheat in the van and you're not outside for that long anyway. It's a must do if you're visiting the area...and don't forget to tip your driver! read more

Thanks to a discount coupon from the B&B I stayed at, I was able to get free cross country skiing or snowshoeing for a day. I checked out the prices for a pass and rentals though and it wasn't bad at all. A half day pass and rental is about 2-3 dollars less and that means arriving any time after noon. The trails were well maintained and the views were beautiful. I do wish the trail markings were a bit more clear, but the map they provide is pretty helpful. You couldn't get lost if you tried, but you might not take the trail you originally intend. Great Glen Trails is a wonderful way to spend a nice and cold winter day! read more

Loved it! It was our first time here and my husband and I both loved it! Very helpful staff. The Monday Friday half off deal (not including holiday times) is an amazing deal. We spent $74 for trail passes and rentals at Bretton Woods Saturday and only $40 today because of the deal. Amazing! The trails are not as extensive as other places but groomed well. Cant speak for the rest of the trail park, but the snowcoach was excellent. Our driver, Ernie was knowledgeable and led us up Mt. washington to about 4,300 ft. The views were amazing and I would recommend it for anybody who has been up the auto road during the summer. read more

My husband and I did the 9am SnowCoach tour on 3/8/18. There was a snowstorm that day and we were the only reservation so we had a SnowCoach all to ourselves. Our tour guide was amazing! He was very knowledgeable about the mountain and answered all our questions. The SnowCoach was heated and was able to go to the treeline at 4200 ft where we stopped to get out and take pictures. Warm clothes aren't needed for a majority of the time but when we got out at the top, the snow was deep and it was a bit cold so it was nice to have a warm jacket, hat, gloves and waterproof boots. The views at the top were amazing, even with cloud cover and fog from the storm. The SnowCoach is a bit noisy but the ride was pretty smooth up the mountain. It was a great tour and I'm glad we did it. read more

This is a review of the snowshoeing. It was fine, and we had free passes from our hotel, otherwise it would have been a rip-off ($20 for the day) considering that you are literally in the middle of the white mountains where you can snowshoe all over the place for free. The tubing hill also looked really lame. I'm sure it's great for cross-country skiing in that there were lots of groomed trails, but it should really be no more than a nominal fee if you want to snowshoe... For our second day (when we didn't have a free pass) we went and snowshoed (sp?) in the state forest, which was lots of fun and just as convenient (assuming you have your own snowshoes!). read more

Me and my girlfriend took a day for tubing here. We get to the lodge, and they shuttle us over to this pathetic small hill. They said "You may need to groom it before you go down". We get there, it wasn't groomed at all. There was another couple there they just dropped off 5 minutes before they got there. They weren't there for even 5 minutes before they just left. The hill was horrible. You couldn't slide more than 3 feet. There was no one there tending the hill. I was expecting snow tubing like they have at Cranmore. Complete waste of $15. You had to pay for access to trails there as well, which I heard weren't too great. Would not recommend at all. read more

I have been returning to great glen trails every year - its a fantastic place for nordic skiing. Even when other locations in the area don't have snow, thanks to its high altitude and great grooming great glen is often open with good trail conditions. I have also taken several private lessons with ski instructors and been pleased each time. Overall, a fun day for the whole family. read more

My husband and I took the snow coach up Mount Washington on a snowy, windy, Sunday morning. Our driver/guide Bill was very knowledgable and entertaining and the ride up and back was a lot of fun. You can't get to the top of Mount Washington in the winter but we went to 4,200 feet which is above the tree line. Visibility was minimal but that didn't effect our enjoyment of the experience! We were able to get out of the coach and feel the strength of the wind which was sustained at over 60 mph! Highly recommended! read more

I've driven by Great Glen and have been meaning to XC there for a few years. I've skied Bretton Woods, Jackson XC and Franconia Inn XC. What Great Glen lacks in quantity it makes up for in quality. The lodge is first rate with a good rental equipment, lockers for storage and a bathrooms with a changing room and shower. Upstairs there's a top notch XC ski shop and a self serve restaurant with a gas fireplace and interesting historic photos. The views are unparalleled in the Whites - The Northern Presidentials are a constant presence. But we're here for the skiing, right? It did not disappoint. There are some open field loops to start with, leading to an easy and intermediate trail network. We skied out to the furthest warming hut, had lunch and returned for a total of maybe 2.5 hours of skiing on nicely groomed trails through mainly hardwood forest. There is an upper loop with is rated most difficult. There are also backcountry ungroomed trails on the east side of Route 16. All and all a fine outing on a compact but nicely varied trail network, with no crowds and a very friendly staff. We'll be back! read more

The tubing here is really bad, not worth your $15. It's not even a hill, it's just an incline. Even if you get a running start or a push, you can't make it all the way down the incline. Not fun. read more
