Having lived in cities with a GHBC in the past, I now miss the opportunity to go and indulge in the goodness of fresh bread products. The last time I went to one (6 years ago), I spent over $100 in the course of a week. This trip, I was excited to take a group of 8 people on a Saturday afternoon. While I did enjoy the tasty sandwiches (turkey pesto ftw), fresh desserts (brownie chocolate muffin, YUM), and a to-go loaf of parmesan sourdough, I found the place to be a little light on the fresh products I am used to. Despite it being a "slow" morning, they were out of several items. The three college-aged men running the place had a very casual (but nice) demeanor. We stopped here for a quick breakfast sandwich a couple of weeks ago while traveling. While we were waiting, the head baker (could have been the manager) offered us a taste of the latest breads/scones he'd been experimenting with. We were expecting a tiny taste, but he gave me an entire slab of the most delicious coconut bread I've ever tasted, and my traveling partner received an entire maple bacon scone that he devoured in no time. While our sandwiches were being made, he kept making sure we were okay and if we needed anything. Not only did he have a great personality, but his concern for his customers was obvious. Check the menu and make sure that it is correct. I ordered the Turkey Pesto and it had mayo on it. The menu online and in store did not show mayo. When I called to confirm that they put the mayo on it, they said that it came that way. Frustrated...I despise mayo.. Lesson learned. read more

Have eaten here a lot. Usually very good and no issues. Today the 3 young boys seemed like they would rather screw around than make our sandwiches. We got food to go. My wife ordered ham and provolone lettuce only. Got home it was covered in mustard and mayo. The boy making our sandwiches was too concerned with visiting with his friend who was in the dining area. Definitely worth the calories. One of the things i liked is that they schedules for their bakes so you know that you're getting it as freshly baked as can be. Cinnamon rolls comes highly recommended, balanced sweet frosting with pillowy bread and cinnamon flavor. Driving through from Texas, immediately and warmly greeted by Lisa. She offered us a slice of bread. For lunch, I ordered the turkey sandwich. It was supposed to be on the Dakota bread but came out on the Harvest grain. I didn't notice until I had taken a few bites out of it. I asked them to just change the bread on the other 1/2 to the Dakota which they did. Both breads were delicious! So I feel lucky I got to try two of their breads. Great harvest bread not only offers many types of fresh baked breads, they also have cookies, bars, sandwiches, and even doggie treats. Of course they have a select area set up for buying gifts and condiments. I have ordered their sandwiches upon many occasions and always been happy with the freshness and the taste. If I had one complaint it would just be the price. $7.00- to 8.00 for a loaf of bread is a bit pricey. But a nice treat for the family now and then. read more

Thank you to Yelpers for guiding us to the Great Harvest Bread Co.! We had planned a 4-hour kayak trip up the Snake River today and wanted to pack sandwiches for our adventure. In looking up the best sandwiches on Yelp, this business came up and it most certainly did not disappoint. My wife and I enjoyed the chicken salad on Dakota bread (YUM!) and our 4-year-old loved his pb & j along with a fresh-baked sugar cookie. The customer service was outstanding. Just wanted a nice lunch with hubby. Had the chicken salad. It was dry, the bread was not really fresh or didn't appear to be. The chicken didn't have much flavor. But for the pickle there would not have been any flavor at all. The broccoli soup tasted like flour, and was lukewarm. read more
