I've been a customer at Harvest Bread on Medlock Bridge since the store first opened, but this was my first time trying lunch there with a few friends. I ordered the Garden Grain Bowl, which cost $9.10 before adding any protein. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the portion and presentation. The menu described a combination of spinach and mixed greens, roasted almonds, sunflower seeds, cheese, fresh fruit, wheat berries, and quinoa. However, the bowl I received appeared to contain mostly mixed greens, with very little of the other advertised ingredients visible. When I asked about it, I was told that it was "not intended to be a full meal." For a salad priced at over $9, I expected a more generous and balanced portion. To their credit, the server did offer to add more fruit and toppings after I raised the concern. I've always enjoyed their bread products, but based on this experience, I would not recommend the salads or sandwiches for the value received. read more

Growing up on that Colombo breads def helps on that sour game lol. Pretty good, subtle sourdoughs and loved the pretzel available on Sat. Kept chugging that vanilla butter on that hot, steamy bread early in the morning~ Friendly staffs giving out samples to try, was a nice experience too for grumpy morning runs. So just finished lunch from Great Harvest. We got two sandwiches one Tuscan chicken and one chicken salad on Dakota bread. I loved the chicken salad sandwich, the only caveat would choose more sturdy bread the next time kind of fell about when eating. My hubby didn't love the Tuscan chicken said it was too much bread to too little protein and the pesto was almost non existent. He would not get it again. We happened upon this place and so glad we stopped. Really like that they were giving samples because we might have missed the spinach and feta bread that is only baked on Tuesdays. My husband and I wanted to devour the entire loaf before we could get home with it. Thankfully we both have some restraint and managed to bring some home for later but boy is it divine when it is fresh out of the oven. We sampled a few other items and they are worthy of purchase as well. We returned for a sandwich for lunch but neither of us would get it again. Just happened upon this spot while running errands and stopped for a quick brunch. I try to stay away from dairy and gluten so seeing the options on the menu were a big plus. Everything you can ask for in a local bakery. I had the breakfast sandwich with bacon, on foccacia, and it was warm, juicy, and just right. I actually planned to buy the Vidalia Hot Sauce, so I put some on the second half and it was even better. Not very spicy, more sweet, but very delicious, if you like vidalia onions. I've also had the blue roast beef sandwich and a pecan bar, as well as the tuscan dip. Everything is high quality, fresh, and delicious. Their hot americano is the best I've had for as long as I remember, I think it's my new go-to. They also have honeys, jams, syrups, and other nice gift ideas. Artisanal bread stores are a dying breed. People are trying to be carb conscious, or have a gluten allergy or just don't want to splurge on something like bread. I have to say, this place is well worth a stop in. I have been here a couple times and mostly it was to get bread for parties where I had dips and items that their products would complement well. This past visit I was there on a Saturday morning and picked up a sourdough loaf, unsliced, and also a biscuit that for this particular day was ham and cheese. I also picked up a roasted garlic butter serving so I could use it on the sourdough. The bread, my goodness. Crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside- it is so good you won't be able to stop eating away. The biscuit I warmed up and used with some fresh eggs as a breakfast. I wish I ordered more...so good. They did offer me a taste of their blueberry muffin. It was so tasty. I wanted to keep buying things but it's just me so I know anything I buy will either get devoured as over indulgence, or wasted if I toss it because I know I'll over indulge anyway. They have a rotating menu- I really wanted to try the stuffing bread but they make it on Thursdays...so this week I plan on popping by here to see if I can't get some for my family to try over the holidays. I'll have to ask when they are making more of the ham and cheese biscuits because I'm going to order a thousand the next time. I am positive their other items are killer too...I know you're going to pay more for these items but it's well worth it knowing that you're supporting small business owners and also that the quality cannot be matched. Great stop for some breakfast pastries and a nice loaf of bread for dinner. Inside was a nice shop with plenty of bread options, a small ordering area up front and then some seating in the back. I had a pumpkin muffin and a savannah bar (bit of a fruit and granola bar). Muffin was ok but the savannah bar was a great morning snack that felt healthier but also filling. Also grabbed a loaf of jalapeño cheddar bread to go with some chili and that bread was a hit! Not your normal grocery store bread (a bit more expensive as well, but worth it for pairing with a dinner)! I did get the loaf frozen which I was a little worried about but it just thawed on the counter for a couple hours and was good to go. If you check out the bake menu, the breads of the day aren't cooked until about 11 or so. An early stop and you'll miss the bread baked that day if that's what you were looking for. Great Harvest is located in John's Creek, GA. It's a local bakery and staple of the community with a loyal fanbase and following. They serve pretty much what you would expect of a bakery. They offer a variety of dishes on the menu for those stopping by to grab a meal. They also sell their own dough that you can but to take home and bake yourself. The dough does tend to sell out fast so try to be on your A game if you want to get it. They sale the bread by itself as well that are fresh and can be taken home the day of, this is popular option as well. The sandwiches are pretty good here. Most because of the fresh bread they use. They can be eaten with a side like soup, salad, or chips. Haven't had bad sandwich here if I think about it. Overall, great spot for some quality bread and a nice simple meal. Right on display are all the breads and sweets they serve. They make sandwiches and breakfast on their homemade breads as well. Eat there or take a loaf to go. My go to is the cinnamon swirl bread. We went early in the morning, and clearly the store opening hasn't been done correctly. The labels for items were off, and when we pointed that out, the employee was looking for the correct ones and switching them, all while we were still ordering. Store seems like a high school kid running the store and she was all over the place. Just kept focusing on... I don't know what. She had gloves on and itched her face, then touched food again. What is the point of gloves then? ‍ Overall, good healthy options but not a flavor exploding place. We have been buying Great Harvest bread for years and it is always outstanding, worth the diversion to get it, especially at holiday time. So 5 out of 5 (6 out of 5!) for their baked items. This review pertains, however to their Breakfast/Brunch cafe (it says "Cafe' " right on their window to the outside.) Service was fine and "Ambience" is pretty good with a few nice tables outside. In this review, I am giving two stars but their cafe' deserves only one star and that is because their coffee is terrible. I told my wife that their coffee is so weak it tastes like tea but she was less kind and said it was the worst coffee she has ever had. Last Saturday I purchased (1) loaf of sourdough bread at the Suwanee Town Park Farmers Market and the guy at their booth charged me for (2) loaves of bread. I have made (3) attempts to ask them to remove the 2nd charge from my credit card with no resolution, no response. They simply take my information and just "blown me off" each attempt. Food was fine. Employees are either incompetent or rude, no in between. The menu was not clear and there is absolutely no variety or accommodations. There's nothing sweet on the breakfast menu, it's all different variations of egg. I tried to get a slice of toast for breakfast because it's on the menu, but apparently none of the bread is sliced for toast. You have to buy the whole loaf. They don't even offer jam with toast, just butter and garlic bread. What kind of bread place doesn't sell slices of toast? My friends ordered iced chai lattes; one was literally all milk and ice and the other one had coffee in it. They have a whole barista station and they couldn't get any of the drinks right. read more

You always pay more for quality, whole foods. It is located in Johns Creek, intersection of Medlock Bridge and Wilson Road. You cannot get any better than freshly made bread every frigging day!! Yep, you got that right. Every day! From grinding the grains to flour. You can see the machines too on the right side behind the refrigerated area. It can get packed inside since it's a small place to check out for customers. However, don't let that discourage you. Plus they offer samples for everyone. Every time you come in, you can get samples. The samples are huge too. I was shocked how big of pieces they cut out. You can taste the freshness of the baked goodies. Not only do they have freshly baked goodies. They have homemade spreads/dips for the breads! They are in the front for you to try with the sample of bread they give you. Yes!! After trying the cinnamon bread, I knew I had to buy it cause it would be perfect to take to my parent's house for the weekend. Their honey wheat bread is vegan. No honey or eggs. Even though it has the name honey, no honey. The ingredients are water, salt, fresh yeast, fresh ground wheat, and molasses. That's right. Only 5 ingredients! I also bought little rolls that I plan to make some burgers but can make smaller sliders. Bread stays fresh for 7-10 days. After tasting the dips/spreads, I decided to buy the veggie cream cheese. I give this place 5 stars because of Sunny the boss lol. He's an amazing guy. Super personable, friendly and just lovely to speak to. Parking is super easy and crowd levels are great. I'm not a bread person but these make great gifts. I'm giving a seasonal bread, pumpkin and chocolate chip, with frog and bear jams to my kids teachers. I got 12 breads, 6 jams and 6 bags for $200. So not such a good deal lol. They are lovely gifts though and you have to make sure you consume their baked goods relatively fast because they do go bad quickly. As do any fresh baked goods.
