We were in the area visiting family and were looking for a bakery. When searching Yelp this location came up. We visit another restaurant in the area often and didn't know it was so close. Great Harvest had several locations in Northern California and we used to visit those all the time but several closed down. We mentioned it to the cashier and she didn't know there were other stores. Their Honey Wheat bread is amazing. They offer so many options and have never been disappointed. We got their last loaf so will need to make sure we go earlier next time. We also picked up some of their delicious dinner roles. The staff were very helpful with our questions and the place was quite busy since it was a Sunday morning everyone was there for breakfast. read more

Bland, tasteless sandwich and gluten free bread was thick, crumbly cardboard (despite others saying it's the best they've ever had) and rude staff. I had the turkey Baja something and it was totally bland besides a punch of aioli. Even the pickled onions were flavorless but really watery oddly enough. My parent's sandwiches looked okay but said it was just an average sandwich. Everything I have had here has been delicious! A little pricy for what it is, but everything is here in southern Oregon. Breakfast sandwich is perfection. The bacon is perfection. I added avocado and I was very happy with my life choices. I've had the grilled cheese with bacon in the past with tomato soup and I was a happy girl :). While on a road trip, we stopped here for lunch because of its amazing yelp reviews. Since this was our first time here, I asked the staff what their most popular breads and local honey/jams were. Unfortunately, they responded by pointing at the counter and said what we have on the shelf is what's available. We got the Cowboy cobb and Baja chipotle turkey sandwich. Not going to lie, I'm a bit confused by the high reviews. I like Great Harvest Bread...for their bread. I didn't even realize they had a menu for food until I saw it on Yelp. Since the bread was good, I figured it was worth trying them for breakfast one morning. It wasn't great. I had the avocado toast which was a very minimal amount of avocado (only slightly more than you'd put if you were spreading butter). There wasn't anything special about it. Not only does this place make delicious food and (Noble) coffee but their customer service is phenomenal. While in a while ago I spilled my full iced coffee. I went up to the counter to ask for some rags and was told they would take care of it and bring me a new drink. It turns out the owner was the one who offered and cleaned it without batting an eye. She was incredibly kind about the whole situation. This is what makes people want to support a business!!! I will be back and be more careful next time :) read more

Have you ever cried of pure joy? You haven't until you've been here and tried ANY of their breads. Cold or hot the sandwiches never let you down, and don't even get me started on the soups. Everyday a new soup and everyday is better than the last. A specific shout-out to the Butternut Squash, Chicken and Wild Rice, and the Tomato Bisque - EXQUISITE. Recently got a punch card - free bread for 10 sandwiches/soup - and I'll be sure to fill that up as soon as I can. Came back on a separate trip, mainly because my wife was looking for their gluten free muffins. But they sold out! However, it was lunch time and we had to get something before headed back to Cali. I had this amazing bacon, cheddar, apple sandwich with pepper jelly on their Asiago sourdough bread. DELICIOUS!!! My only gripe was that I didn't have enough! The kids and wife loved their respective sandwiches in, probably, the best GF bread that they've had so far. The staff was super kind, and they even let the kids have some freebies. I have heard that this place is spectacular so I might have had too high of expectations. My grilled cheese on sourdough sandwich was really good but it was a little small for the price and doesn't come with any kinds of side, and they didn't really have any side items to buy / choose to purchase other than more bread products so it was kind of weirdly not a 'meal' just a small sandwich. They did have lots of cute seating inside and outside, and I loved that you can see them making the bread. Service wasn't outright bad, but they didn't exactly seem thrilled to have us either. Just wish they offered more side items to round out the meal. I'd go back but would probably just take sandwiches to go. read more

Well. They sure went and upgraded the place. They moved from their corner location on Genessee & Jackson, and moved toward the middle of the block on Genessee. In the process, they moved into a much, much bigger location than where they were previously. You can now see easily into their bakery operation, as the new building is nice and open. They also now have a café, and they serve Noble coffee in addition to their various breadstuffs. Free wi-fi, too. Keep in mind though that in spite of the new digs, they still cater to a primarily older clientele. So coffee and wi-fi notwithstanding, this isn't a hipster joint or anything. Regardless, the bread is good, and you won't be disappointed. Just wish they'd incorporate bagels into the mix. Then they'd be next-level, you know? read more

We've tried many of their sandwiches, salads, soups, breads and sweets, and love them all! Some favorites: Mexicali Salad, Baja Chipotle Turkey or Sweet and Spicy Chicken sandwiches; Pepper Bleu Roast Beef or Breakfast Sandwiches. Soups are Fresh-frozen gourmet soups and chili that taste like homemade. And then there are Noble coffee, real fresh squeezed OJ, and treats made with fresh-ground whole flours -- Mixed Berry or Peach fruit bars and Earth Scones (spelt flour, dates, walnuts and raisins). I bought a box of pastries for healthy eaters who were staying with us. And, I bought a bag of cookies because they looked good. My guests tried to be polite. But, they finally admitted they thought the pastries were terrible-so, I wish I could give them no stars. I don't care how healthy something is. If it's bland, it's bland. The "pumpkin" muffins with cream cheese topping had no flavor-and, it was dry and tough. The berries on the Berry bars were so sour that we couldn't eat them. I don't care how healthy you try to make something. If you don't put in spice or sugar, I'm out $36. We threw everything away. I'm so mad! The Breakfast Sammy sandwiches are excellent: Cheese, egg, ham or bacon with a garlic spread on a choice of breads. It is served all day. The thin slice of cheese (you are given choices on cheese types) melts into the bread. Next is scrambled egg and the several slices of (on my sandwich) ham. The garlic spread adds to the flavor. I chose the very good multi-grain sourdough bread. Two small slices of orange were included.
