this is an outlet mall and sometimes you can get good deals. i only like a select few places here: BCBG, BEBE, Forever, Arden B., Banana Republic and thats pretty much it. i would say it's more on the lower scale if you compare it to stanford or Valley Fair. but still worth going to. read more

Lots of shoe stores. Also, has a lot of name brand stores like Guess, nine west, eddie bauer which are all outlets. I love it. I also used this mall to shop for maternity clothes. Saved a bundle. However, the mall is a ghetto hangout, with lots of hoodrats and the like. Consequently the people are are not the classiest or most polite. If you can overlook that, there are bargains to be had. I have never left this mall empty handed. Even tho they have typical stores that you can find in any mall, the prices are cheaper... but maybe the quality isnt as good because it IS an outlet with irregular clothes, but so what!? the prices are great for a poor college student with no job that loves to shop! you can find some pretty good deals on clothes, household accesories, and kitchen ware which is perfect for me because im in my baking moood! it can get crowded on the weekdays before a major holiday. read more

it can get a little ghetto here. and the huge families that seem to enjoy blocking the entire pathway with strollers and crazy kids running around in circles. i love the food court here. i don't know why. it seems like they have more selection. some of the restaurants are different from the norm in food court restaurants. the stores can be a little ghetto, but my biggest problem is just not finding stuff that i'm willing to buy. i don't know who to blame... the manufacturer? the store owner who bought those items?? a crocs outlet store just opened up and it rocks. i am now a proud owner to 2 pairs of comfy crocs. i love them so much that i hardly wear them. the banana republic here is pretty decent. i do more BR shopping at the great mall than i ever do at valley fair. i usually get my sizes here and not many people are at this store on the weekdays. having a dave and busters really kicks ass. restaurant and video games and other carnival games. i just love it. it can be a little cumbersome driving around the mall in the parking lot. just to get on the other side of the mall, i feel like i'm driving around the outside of the amusement park! i know the safety bumps are probably required and necessary, but how its set up makes me feel like i'm on a crappy kiddy roller coaster. i'm a big fan of the seating areas. whenever i'm at this mall, there's always people making use of all those benches!! no, there's not homeless. they're usually retired people babysitting some family members' kids. at least there's space where strollers can be parked, safely out of the way. read more

This was supposed to be THE OUTLET!!! Yeah I was there when they opened (after getting lost and ending up at the old mental institution Agnews- now that was a rip) Anywho,they started out as an outlet with great prices on good quality clothes, shoes etc. but ssince the years have not been kind, the big stores infiltrated the great mall which is okay but damn slash those prices...HARD!! the only comfort is the as seen on TV store and mikasa.overrated and outdated. read more

This mall is cool, even better since they added the KC store. I mainly go here for sports gear (Nike Store) or Kenneth Cole (dress shirts are nice and cheap). I also enjoy the food court, the Thai place rocks... They have mango chicken which is super yummy. Good mall for the family, not awesome but I like it. read more

This mall has just about everything. It is a long walk to get to one side of the mall to the other side. So be prepared to walk if you're only here to buy something specific and are on each ends of the mall, because walking this thing won't be fun. There were a few things here that opened up and closed down pretty quickly and I wish they would put another arcade up, because Dave n Busters doesn't cut it if you don't have the moola to put up. I can go on and on about what's in this mall but it's going to take forever. So I'll leave it to the other reviewers. Do remember this is a mall and things will be overpriced so be careful what you buy around here when you can probably get it a little cheaper somewhere else. read more

This mall is basic but has great outlets with great prices. The deals in some of the stores are almost hard to believe! Unfortunately we only had a couple of hours to spend, but I know my friend could have been there all day, and I could have too if I wasn't kind of tired from the drive. The Gilroy outlets are able an hour away they still are probably technically better, but this is a great mall. read more

I like coming here for the Banana Republic Factory store, Coach factory store,Dave and Buster's, H&M, Bed, Bath, and Beyond and....BEVMO! I hate coming here on weekends though because its always super busy. Its the closest mall to my house, so I come here often. Very convenient for me. read more

Wear your walking shoes cause you'll be walking for hours in this mall. The Great Mall is a weird mix of regular retail stores and factory outlet stores, but either way, you'll find sales everywhere. They have Forever 21, Gap Outlet, Burlington Coat Factory, H&M, Nike Factory, Coach Factory Store, and a ton of other stores. It's a one level mall, so make sure to plan accordingly, cause you won't want to walk back and forth. Parking wasn't too horrible for us on a Saturday, but we might have just gotten lucky. read more

Came here with my cousin a few months back and to be honest, other yhan the size, nothing really stood out to me. Quite a few shoe outlets, a miniscule hot topic, and a handfulnof department stores make up this whole mall. Quite easy to forget your place, and the linesvare super long in almost every store. First of all, this mall is big, has a lot of variety, and is very clean. The downside? The parking. I have never in my life experienced such horrific parking; it took me thirty minutes to find a parking spot. The experience was so incredibly stressful for something so simple like going to the mall. I went on a Saturday, so of course it was busy, but they really need to do something about the parking. I've been to malls that were not even 1/4 as the Great Mall and they actually charge for parking; first 90 minutes is free, and then you have to pay. I feel like the Great Mall needs to do this to weed out the people who take up the parking to just "hang out" at the mall. Also, you have to be vicious to find a parking spot. You'll spot a person leaving, and wait, then a person will just come in and swoop in and take it - it's absurdly intense. I was consumed with annoyance that it just ruined my whole shopping experience. I was only there for about an hour in a half. I'm not familiar with San Jose so I don't really know the scene, but if I'm ever there again I will not come back to the Great Mall as it is, in fact, not-so-great. read more

Place used to be THE hangout spot and now I rarely come here. It has changed a lot since I was last here. New stores and new locations. Pretty interesting. It's different but it's not bad. This mall is huge! I believe it's an outlet mall, this is pretty much the only mall in Sj areas that me and my mom love to go to. They have a lot of good deal items. However, today we didn't really bought anything today. Our favorite stores are Abercrombie and hollister. It's so crowded most of the time, it's best to get here earlier in the morning. This mall has improved a lot when it first started. I came here when it first opened and believe me it is way better now. When it first opened it didn't have that many stores, people, security, and even bathrooms. The mall is mainly an outlet mall. This mall was converted from a closed auto factory in hope of generating more jobs and tax revenue for the city of Milpitas. I think it has accomplished that. It has a lots of people, stores, restaurants, security and even a movie theater now. So I give it 4 stars for its improvements and growth. read more

Don't feel like shopping at Valley Fair or Santana Row, check out the Great Mall for outlet shopping. If you're looking for bargains (Marshalls and non name brand shops) or high-end discounted stores (Arden B, BCBG, Banana Republic, Gap, Off Fifth, etc.), you'll pretty much find it here. Weekends are pretty busy, so get there early or shop late. Also, if you're in the mood for entertainment, Dave & Busters and Century Theatres are also located there. read more

This mall is an outlet mall kind of like Gilroy outlets price wise. Its pretty large and has a few good stores like the Saks Fifth Ave and Neiman Marcus outlets, where they have mark downs of designer clothes from last season which is nice. They also have Bebe, Abercrombie & Fitch, The Childrens Place, and Vans, all the stores practically carry last seasons clothes but at some good prices. I usually stop by this mall when I want to save some money. The food court and selection is small so I wouldn't recommend eating at the mall. Its not so much fun shopping there when its crowded. There is a movie theater and Dave & Busters Next door which is nice. Overall the great mall is OK. read more

This mall is okay, especially since they got a Neiman and Saks Outlet. They almost never get anything good, but when they do, you can get a fair deal. Tommy Hilfiger and Nautica are okay, and there's a hot topic. Some stores are outlets, and others aren't. I've been going here since before they had media play and Lines N' Things, and I've been seeing slow but constant improvements in the stores offered and in the upkeep of the mall. It's a place to check out, but nothing compared to Gilroy and Vacaville outlets. read more

An ideal place on a rainy day. Arrived early shopped until we became famished!! Grabbed food an drink at D&B. Overall, nice mall with some extras. An outlet mall always sparks my interest...I mean, cute clothes for $3 bucks?? No way! Squeal!!!! The Great Mall has one big setback, though--it's circular, which means, that if you wanted to get from one store to another, you need to make sure you don't take the longer route. Get what I mean? My feet were ACHING the first time I went to the Great Mall because I kept walking in the wrong direction of the circle, away from the store I wanted to back again on the other side!! read more

i actually like this mall. It's within 2 minutes away from my house! The only reason why i loove this mall is because it has many stores to choose from and a variety of styles. My ultimate favorite: Forever 21! i love that place so much and its in this mall! i wouldn't blame the mall, but i blame the people IN the mall. you have indian people who actually shop?? them cheapasses needa stop bargaining for better deals, foreal. you have mexican youngin's who are straight up bopper and mexican moms that have 100s of kids attached to them. you don't get to see much white people because theyre at valleyfair often. you have black people who just goes to the Shiek store and leaves. then you have my people; the filipinos who just eats at Red Robins/ Jolibee and leaves. yuuuuuup, i hate people here! read more

It is located close to 880 and 680 which is convenient. As many reviews mention, the mall is so large, it is hard to know where to exit. There are directory and maps, but they do not have any information booth or do not have any panphlet to explain the mall itself....! The rest rooms are few and from some stores they are very very far. You could find good bargains in some stores (when they have some sale), but you seem to need a lot of time. The mall itself is kind of dark and not very beautiful. It does not live up to the name "Great". read more

I was trying to get diet coke. I noticed it is mostly clear water. I am guessing it is caused by they mixing regular diet coke and water but somehow regular diet got exhausted. The staff helped me get it from inside fountain, and it looked and tasted normal. I can no longer trust the customer fountains. read more

Worst customer service ever! Especially at Calvin Klein and H&M. The sales associates start closing the store and ignoring customer way before closing time. I had things in my hand and was planning on buying things at Calvin Klein, but after tripping over multiple trash bags left in the aisles by the careless sales associates and literally being ignored by two associates as they had a conversation between themselves even though one of them saw me standing there waiting. Such a frustrating experience, I won't be going to this mall anytime soon, waste of my time and energy!!! read more

Me and my boyfriend came from 50 miles to come to the Great Mall I haven't been since I was really young, and it didn't disappoint! A lot of people but that was expected. Parking was better than I expected. My only critique I have is this is a National known mall I should get looks in Saks 5th Ave ect like I don't belong because I'm of color we come to spend money just like everyone else and should be treated with the same respect! Awesome mall! I used to go here when I lived up in the Bay Area!:) I still remember their awesome baseball card show way back in 2008!:) Its a pretty good sized mall! Lots fashion choices to choose from! I remember going to their Lids hat store too:) To make this mall complete to go above and beyond they should add a Target store! Since most malls here in LA have Targets attached which is a huge plus to have lots of customers shop here! So you don't have to find parking at even Target close by you can do all in one grocery clothing hall:) Possibly a Costco would be good if not Target:) lol Maybe they already have added these stores in their mall expansion:) read more
