Of all the personal care homes and senior living facilities we queried and toured (and there were many), we found Choice Care Senior Living in Loganville a superior facility with superior staff. Our beloved mother has lived at Choice Care over five years now. My sister and I couldn't be more satisfied with the quality of care she has received at this Georgia-licensed PCH. It boasts no extracurricular bells and whistles, yet this place is an absolute gem as far as the quality of care given its residents. The owners, Angela (also a registered nurse) and her sister, Erica, hire only qualified caregivers. They ensure their professional staff is diligent and caring. My sister and I are immediately apprised if our mother is sick or has had an accident. Most importantly, she is content and happy. As her needs have increased, Angela and her staff have gone the extra mile to keep our mother out of a nursing home. They have been angels in action for my sister and me. My mom lived at a larger assisted…read moreliving facility for 2 years in an early memory care neighborhood but began to need added security at night (bed rails/ cameras) due to being a fall risk and better staff: resident ratio for oversight during the day due to her impaired mobility. Zoe, the owner, is incredibly responsive, very in tune with the residents, and communicative with us about anything potentially going on with my mom before I even get there to notice which has been just a huge relief to know someone is actually paying attention to the signs of a UTI or anything else that may be going on. She even takes those that are able out occasionally for salon days! The home is only 5 bedrooms with 2 staff during the day and 1 at night so the resident: staff ratio is better than anywhere I've found and certainly better than any assisted living you will find! For someone with dementia, less is more and by less I just mean - less people, less commotion, less vast spaces than assisted living, but much much better care all in a true home environment. With only 4 caretakers, my mom very quickly became familiar with and felt comfortable and safe around them vs constant rotations at assisted living. She is able to sleep in, bed rails can be provided as needed, security cameras with audible alarms to staff during the night, and just less space to worry about oversight or being out of sight to where someone like my mom is less likely to fall. The home had comfy recliners in bedrooms and living rooms so residents can lounge comfortably which is a luxury over assisted living! Lori, the other owner, is a registered nurse and has been really helpful in streamlining medication management and dietary needs for my mom. I'm sure I'm missing a million good things about Regency but it has truly been a very positive experience to see my mom so well rested, so happy, and putting on a little weight - she looks better than she has in a very long time and I know it's due to the level of care and oversight she receives from everyone at Regency. Shout out to the amazing staff - Shereka, Candy, Diki, And Tefanie! It's like a little family there. I highly recommend if you are considering alternative options for your loved one to check this out especially for dementia care vs a memory care unit at assisted living both due to the level of care and the level of comfort and quality of life for your loved one.

Although the entire staff is excellent, I need to especially recognize Terri and Donna who are now are a part of our extended family. She passed away last month and upon reflection of our time there, I have to say this community is wonderful and I love and respect the people who run this facility. We moved my mom from another assisted living place that we were not fond of. Lindsey (activities director) is phenomenal! She plans interesting activities inside the complex as well as taking residents out into the community as well. My mom has gone to get manicures and pedicures, lunches, plays, local stores, and just going on "joy rides" to see Christmas lights. My mom LOVED Lindsey. As time went on and my mom didn't want to take her medicine, Lindsey would come to the rescue and always got my mom to take it if I wasn't around. She is super creative in facilitating different activities within the complex too. Heather, the nurse has been great as well. As my mom began to deteriorate, Heather was always there to help me with any questions and to give me the mental support that I needed. She guided me and help me to make all the arrangements for mom to come home to Prema from the hospital at the end. (And my mom did want to go home from the hospital.) She was always available to me and never was short or impatient with me. Heather the director is also a sweet and loving lady. She brings her two dogs to work and my mom and I loved seeing them. She always would see me if I had any questions from billing to personnel. As she has said to me once, "I got you." and she always did. Even Shawn who works at the front desk (after being promoted) would go check on my mom. As well as Shawn and Phoebe (the dynamic duo) who took such good care to my mom on a daily and weekly basis. My mom was able to do her physical and occupational therapy on site as well. My mom was a "faller" and the Prema team did so many wonderful things to keep her on her feet in lieu of a wheelchair. She stayed on her feet almost to the end. Keon, Ebony and Oliver, are amazing. The other residents are also very friendly and open. Mom developed a very special friendship with another lady and they would sit and talk or sometimes just sit and watch people come in and out for hours or until the next activity! :) Thank you Prema at Ashton Hill for being such an important and wonderful part of my mom's life as well as my own. My husband and I always say that when our time comes we will be checking into Prema too!

Agape Hospice was able to step in and provide the 24/7 hospice care she needed so she could pass away pain free and with her family, When you are looking for a hospice, please ask questions about how long it will take to get DME equipment such as hospital bed and oxygen and if they have the staffing to provide 24/7 coverage for 72 hours when your family member is at the end of their life. I can't change what happened to my mother but I can warn others not to use this hospice company.

The daytime caregivers provided outstanding care and seemlessly blended into home life, providing me and other family members with needed breaks. We also had the same caregivers during the day and evening. They communicated with me and my spouse clearly, professionally and compassionately and attended to her needs with sensitivity and dignity. The night care was good but more inconsistent especially during weekends and inclement winter weather. I did not realize that the care CB provided was not covered by our insurance and it is expensive but well worth the cost. My spouse was able to stay at home throughout.

There were a lot of places out there that were nice, but none that were as welcoming as Vitality. They ensured that I, as the daughter dealing with all this, was ok first, and then they helped walk me through each step. Every single person that works here really loves what they do and wants to be there. That is rare to find, especially in elder care! They are all incredibly communicative, proactive, caring, and genuinely good people. The building is open, bright, and spacious! The rooms are big and bright (also hard to find!). The food is excellent, there are lots of options, and they will even assist you with dietary adjustments. There are a lot of activities, and they highly encourage residents to get involved. My dad is already leading 3 or 4 different spiritual study groups. He really loves it here, and I can rest easy knowing he is being well taken care of. I'm so grateful we found this place!
