The pizza options range from familiar to adventurous and are all excellent. They also offer gluten-free crust. My favorite sandwich is the Cabby: grilled cheese with apples and bacon. Best salad is the Caesar with smoked salmon. They offer tons of drink options, lots of local beers, and more wines than I've ever seen in one establishment. Very casual, counter-service, seat yourself. Live music is common on the weekends and there's a bluegrass jam session on Saturday afternoons. You might have trouble getting a table, especially when there's live music, so make reservations if you have more than 4 people. There's no kid menu but it's loud and casual enough to accommodate children. read more

We stopped here on a road trip, and the food and atmosphere were outstanding. We shared the salmon caesar salad, the tuna sandwich, and a glass of local sauvignon blanc. The salad was especially delicious, and tasted fresh and crisp, exactly what we needed after driving for several hours. The best part, though, was the impromptu concert at the table next to us - it started with two guitars and a harmonica, but every few minutes more people showed up, and by the time we left, there were several guitars, banjos, harmonicas, and fiddles playing. Came in here during a free afternoon while in the area, and was very impressed with the service, the decor, the relaxing nature of the place, and best of all if you come in at the right time they've got homeland style music playing in the main area. It closes early, but this is a very relaxing place and probably one of Pendleton's nicest hangouts. read more

We stopped in at the Great Pacific on a busy Friday evening with our two boys. Even as busy as it was, the staff were helpful, the ordering line moved quickly, and our pizza and sandwiches came out quickly and were delicious. The ambience is very casual. My only disappointment was that while there was a famer's market going on in the street outside, our fruit plate was made with non-local grocery-store produce. I would nonetheless highly recommend the Great Pacific. read more

Fine foods and drinks in a wonderful old brick building. However, you must allow plenty of time for your food to arrive at the table. With our order, we waited 25 minutes when I went to the counter and told the cashier that we had to be somewhere in 15 minutes so we would like lunch to go. She said that our order was done and would be out soon. After 10 more minutes they started plating and wrapping our lunches. I won't be eating there again unless I have nothing else to do for the rest of the day. read more

I rarely ever write reviews on Yelp, but felt the need to this time. This place was awesome; everything about it was great. Loved the atmosphere, the staff were all really cool, and the sandwiches were so good. I had the Reuben which was amazing and my husband had The Beast. Oh my, that was probably the best sandwich I've ever tasted. We pass trough Pendleton frequently as we live in Bend but have family in Lagrande. This will definitely be where we eat whenever we pass through from now on. Yum! read more

Nice place downtown. We had their pizza and were not impressed. It tasted fine, but felt like we were eating a made frozen pizza. We felt there was a lack of appetizers while we waited for the food, which took 20 minutes. They had a lot of beer chooses in bottles or on tap. The stuff was awesome! read more

Stopped in here for lunch while passing through town. Mmmmmmm. I had the Caesar salad. Greens were fresh, clearly washed and torn in house. The dressing was light and flavorful, the parmesano was freshly shaved and plentiful. It was served with a generous chunk of warm sliced baguette. This is the salad that brew pubs everywhere advertise, but fail at. It was just fantastic. I took an iced Americano for the road. Best and strongest coffee Id had in days. read more

Friendly service with a warm, local atmosphere. Fresh food done right! We ordered the Rueben sandwich which was absolutely astounding! The tender meat was sliced thick, with a touch of kick in the sauce. The toasted bread was neither too crisp nor soggy. Well done! The cold brewed coffee was refreshing and promptly served. OK, agreed with the other reviewers that the food is excellent (meat is fresh, think it is cut there, veggies taste local, bagels are real and real fresh), the selection unusual for a small (fresh corned beef; Thai peanut pizza, real bagels, choice of wines and exotic beers) town, and the service friendly and funny. Now this from a native: drift in with friends on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm so you get a seat, order a meal and enjoy the bluegrass band that slowly builds from about 3:30 on. Not just the regulars, but they attract musicians from the Eastern Oregon Symphony and other venues, and the music ebbs and flows with arrivals and departures until closing time around 8pm. No extra charge. Carol and Ken, the owners, do a great job on weekday evenings with scheduled bands also, but the bluegrass is authentic, fun and entertaining to the point of watching local tots dance in the aisles. read more

I've lived in Pendleton almost six years and I've been a regular customer here since I moved to town. The "GP" is one of those places that actually transform a small town from a good to a great place. The staff is always friendly and the food is good. Yes, it can sometimes take a while to get your food at lunch time. Locals know this and we plan accordingly. The owners are big supporters of local music, and do their best to book traveling bands. Check their Facebook page for upcoming shows. They have the best selection of tap and bottled beer in town, and an extensive wine selection too. On Fridays you might stumble on a beer or wine tasting event that is FREE. The pizza is good, and they will make topping substitutions if you ask. Someone on here complained that the place was busy. I pass through Pendleton every now and then and find myself eating here because the choices in this town are pretty limited. Great Pacific provides a fun atmosphere and good food. I ordered a pizza today and was pleasantly surprised with the crust quality. They dashed the ends of the crust with small pieces of shredded cheese to give it an extra crisp. I got a peanut butter cookie to go, which was an excellent treat for the road. I'll keep stopping by for lunch as I travel through Pendleton. read more

i just love this place. It's my home away from home. Good socializing, craft brews galore, lots of things to eat from awesome cheesecake to dark chocolate--I like to head over for the live bands. This place was recommended by the visitor center, when I asked about a place to get coffee and wifi. It didn't disappoint in that department. Also got a sandwich which was very tasty, and made with adjustments that I asked for. Very good place to hang out. We were in town, looking for a local place to eat. Our hotel staff sent us here. At first I was impressed, local vibe, good menu variety, and one male staff person helped us arrange a few tables to accomodate the 12 in our combined group. Thats about all the positive right there. The service was terrible. Our blond cashier, at the counter where you place your order and pay, kept saying "Sorry, I am a total space cadet today" after every item my family of 3 ordered. We had to repeat everything, twice. All we wanted was a cheese pizza with added pepperoni and sausage, which wasn't available as an existing option on the menu. She said numerous times "My boss will yell at me if I don't charge you right." After finally getting it all squared away, we sat down to wait almost 30 minutes for our order of a Large Pepperoni and Sausage pizza, and my daughter's vegan Mezza Platter. My daughter said the hummus on the platter was disgusting. Bland and tasted nothing like hummus. Another adult in our party of 12 said the chicken on her chicken ceaser salad tasted like it hadnt been thoroughly cooked. Our pizza, which was supposed to be a Large for my husband and I, arrived as a "Personal size." We caught the attention of our space cadet cashier, who apologized and said she had indeed written down the wrong size. She offered to make us an identical one for free, but no way was I waiting another 30 minutes for one.The pizza tasted ok, but was nothing special. We ended up leaving and getting my husband a Bic Mac, since the one piece of pizza didn't satisy him. Next trip to Pendleton we will drive right past this place. read more
