Food was tasty. Service was hit or miss. Bartender was great! Server needs more experience; small things rattled her.

This place is a so great! I have eaten here every other time I have visited Anchorage. It's on…read moreSpenard road which is not the nicest part of town but definitely worth the trip. The family that owns and operates this gem is Greek and they are not only amazing cooks, but they care about their community!! I have been there eating several times this winter and obviously homeless people would come to the door and be given water, hot soup, half a sandwich, etc. that just made me love this place more. Now to the food. First of all I had the meatball sub which was not only delicious but super filling. The meat was very well seasoned, and the fresh basil just made the marinara pop even more, add the freshly shaved Parmesan cheese and you've got something special. The homemade bread puts this thing into overdrive! Crispy on the outside, light, delicate but not falling apart and heavy enough to hold together all that deliciousness without being filling like you just ate a large pizza. Now to the ridiculous tomato basil soup. I love the clam chowder but the tomato basil is my favorite. Savory, full of flavor, smooth, creamy and not greasy. This in my opinion is the perfect pairing to the meatball sub. You're welcome! The customer service here is amazing too just like the owners and the food. You will always be greeted by a smiling face, and treated like family. You will not regret stopping here. I've eaten the Meatball sub, The Philly, the lasagna and The Gyro ( lamb and chicken) all have been 10 out of 10. The ambiance is like a neighborhood dinner with a small dining room. You will love it!

I ordered the BLT and had the chicken lemon soup The soup was very lemony and salty but I ate the whole bowl it was pretty good. The BLT had too much lettuce on it and a couple pieces of bacon but it was your standard white bread-mayo- bacon-lettuce-tomato. Prices not bad when the sandwiches come with soup or salad. Nice quaint family run local restaurant. I would try the Alfredo next time assuming they make the sauce in house?

*insert cliche about better late than never here*…read more Wow, I've walked right by this place, dozens of times, not knowing what a gem it was! If you're near Snow City Cafe and don't want to wait 18 hrs, this is a great backup option for scrumptious food downtown! This is mostly a grab-and-go setup and they specialize in decadent croissant sandwiches. I recommend getting a combo as it comes with a sweet treat. (I love baked goods, but I often just want "a taste" and not some massive muffin/cookie/brownie) If you're looking for a breakfast sandwich in Anchorage, this is probably one of the absolute best options!

Maybe you could get away with staying in the loading zone? Hit or miss because you don't know how long it'll take to get your order if you just walk in. I got the Holy Grail. It was very good! By the time I was 2/3 in the meat became very salty and I almost couldn't finish it. Might need something more to cut the saltiness of the meat or more vinegar, and cheese, not very much of either on the sandwich. A little spendy for lunch, but worth it once in awhile. I also got the "meal" which was Mac and cheese(or salad) and a bite of one of their desserts. The Mac and cheese was HEAVY on either garlic or truffle, it was a little much. But it was good overall just not your regular Mac and cheese taste. The brownie was very good, dark chocolate. With the meal you get like 1/4 of one of their regular bars. Next time I would try the grilled cheese or back to the future sandwich. The lady making the sandwiches I think was the owner, there was also another lady helping out. I wish she would have explained things a little more like what the desserts were, I didn't realize they were right in front of me when choosing. And she didn't ask if I wanted Mac and cheese or salad with my meal. The owner you could tell took her work seriously and she loves her craft!

They've got a solid variety of Alaska brews on tap, way more than your average spot, so it's easy to try something new or stick with a favorite. Food is decent across the board, nothing overly fancy, but it hits the spot and pairs well with the beer. Think reliable bar food done right. Just make sure you dodge all the homeless when walking around downtown.

It features a blend of barstool window seats, barstool bar seats, high-top tables, and standard-height tables. We went for a very late lunch, which made the quick food delivery and yet under-attentive service a little perplexing. Having spent last summer in London, the attraction at TCT for us was comparing and contrasting Alaska Halibut Fish & Chips with the British fare. I wanted to like the Tent City offering; I really did not. For the price ($28/ea), we got three modest pieces of fish and the equivalent of two servings of chips. Both the fish and the chips were mushy (undercooked), with a heavy batter finish in contrast with the light and crisp British offering. The accompanying tarter sauce was an odd raspberry-and-blackberry concoction that my family and I called a pickle aftertaste. The presentation, for the price and the atmosphere, was a confusing combination of a metal basket lined with wax paper (like a 1950's drive-through), plastic water and soda glasses (like a college cafeteria), and real silverware. Other reviews have high praise for TCT so, on our next visit to Alaska, it will be good to give them another try. The bones of this establishment are in place for a really special experience, but, today, for me, it was just "ok."

I'm glad that they had beer flights because I was unable to decide what kind I wanted. With some assistance from the bartender I chose 4 beers and every single one of them was wonderful. I would absolutely go back if I'm ever in Anchorage again. It does get a little bit loud and it gets very crowded so be prepared to either wait, or sit at the bar. It is open seating, you check in at the host stand and they'll give you a menu and you just find a place to sit. All in all it was a wonderful time and the food was great. I don't like fish, so for me to say that, you know it was good!

The servers seemed a little new, but the service was good and friendly. They carry Frontier brand sodas which we found to be excellent for their flavor. We got root beer and ripe raspberry soda. I ordered the Chili AK Salmon Bowl which our server confirmed is wild salmon. My wife ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich with fries. Both meals were really good. I especially liked the sauce on the salmon bowl so much so that I asked for a little more only to be charged for the extra sauce. I also noticed they include a service charge on the bill (note that this was not gratuity). They told us it was to help them get seasonal labor and to cover overhead. Maybe this is an Alaska thing, but with menu prices as high as these, why would you need to add a service charge? Pricing and nickel & diming aside, I would recommend this place.
