Price is not worth what you get. Would definitely skip this next time. Staff is amazing and interior is spacious and cozy. Food is solid but just not worth the price. FOOD: Parmesan Crusted Halibut (7/10): Decently juicy halibut with a good peppercorn sauce on top. Salmon Chowder (5/10): A lot of salmon inside but a little bit too creamy compared to other chowders King Crab Legs (3/10): $110 for 2 legs. I believe these are frozen as well from what we felt. Skip!

I ate at Humpy's over 15 years ago and have been talking about their halibut fish & chips since. Visiting Anchorage for a few days so stopped in to see if it met my memory expectations. Yes! The halibut was the most tender and moist fried fish ever! And the fries were crispy and seasoned perfectly. I remembered that I loved the slightly spicy tartar sauce...yup! Still great! My only complaint was the portion size of fish...another piece or two would have been perfection. Decent beer list. Wish they had more than one house brew choice. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Decor was exactly as it was years ago which is ok by me...why change a good thing? Looks like they have live music in the evenings sometimes now which I think could be fun too. Looking forward to our next return...hopefully not another 15 years!!

Wanted to try authentic Alaskan seafood. So went there on the last day of our stay. Blackened Halibut was tasty but we expected more juicy and bigger fillet. Halibut tacos were just ok. In short the food was not impressive for the price tag. Service was excellent.

Smoked salmon spread was good. (The baguette was tough but the spread itself was good.)

Our Lyft driver raved about this awesome local hangout. It does look like a great hang spot: lights and live music sometimes, comfy seating. That's where it ends. Maybe it was our out-of-towner vibe, or they just didn't like us. We got the cold shoulder. It wasn't crowded but it still took almost 20 minutes for anyone to even take our drink order - and it was the third staffer to look at us who finally reluctantly came over. (We were trying to be chill and didn't get uppity about wanting attention.) The artisan brew was OK, but not as good as elsewhere in town. Cocktail was a little watery. Tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but the food also was really not good. The crusted halibut was so greasy we were both sick. Not a good experience, but you might have better luck.

One of the go to spots to eat when you're here. I actually found this spot as it was advertised at the airport. I love that they have live music and delicious food. Alaskan gold! Good seafood and local vibes. Must try? Of course! Fish and chips!

The service was great the waitress was on it the bad part was the food. The biggest complaint is the Alaskan Smoked Salmon board. It was two scoops of cream cheese mixed with salmon and a loaf of white bread. The bread was just a loaf of bread not toasted not anything kinda strange like your supposed to take white bread and dip it in the cheese or use a knife and spread it on the bread? At least toast it show the bread some love. I'm not into like having a great food presentation but man come on. The other food we ordered was just ok.

I first visited this place exactly 20 years ago. While in Anchorage, we decided to visit this place again. This place is as touristy as it gets but its okay for what it is. Our crab cakes were previously frozen commercial mostly breaded crab cakes. My reindeer meatloaf was pretty good(Thanks, Blitzen!). The fries were greasy, but that's a preference to some. The local beer was excellent. The smoked salmon chowder was the best thing amongst all the items we ordered. The waiter was one of the most smug waiters we've had. Would we go there again? We probably wouldn't go back for food, though we would consider going back for a drink and some snacks when they have singers performing.

Bavarian pretzel sticks and cheese sauce.

Crab melt sandwich was terrible, dry and pasty. Blackened halibut eggs Benedict was ok.

It features a blend of barstool window seats, barstool bar seats, high-top tables, and standard-height tables. We went for a very late lunch, which made the quick food delivery and yet under-attentive service a little perplexing. Having spent last summer in London, the attraction at TCT for us was comparing and contrasting Alaska Halibut Fish & Chips with the British fare. I wanted to like the Tent City offering; I really did not. For the price ($28/ea), we got three modest pieces of fish and the equivalent of two servings of chips. Both the fish and the chips were mushy (undercooked), with a heavy batter finish in contrast with the light and crisp British offering. The accompanying tarter sauce was an odd raspberry-and-blackberry concoction that my family and I called a pickle aftertaste. The presentation, for the price and the atmosphere, was a confusing combination of a metal basket lined with wax paper (like a 1950's drive-through), plastic water and soda glasses (like a college cafeteria), and real silverware. Other reviews have high praise for TCT so, on our next visit to Alaska, it will be good to give them another try. The bones of this establishment are in place for a really special experience, but, today, for me, it was just "ok."

I was really excited to hear about the opening of The Rail and couldn't wait to check it out. The indoor seating was smaller than I expected, but the interior design is even nicer than the restaurant and has a very relaxing feel. As for the beer, I have no complaints at all. Their beer is still some of my favorite to this day. I honestly wish they could somehow sell it in other states so I could grab some whenever I feel homesick. I also feel like this space has a lot of potential for small gatherings, farmers markets, block parties, or even little concerts. We'll see what they do with it over time. Overall, I'm so glad to see this business continue to thrive throughout the years.

They have two apps, some sweet treats and some sandwiches made on flatbread. We got the sandwich with fried tofu and it was just ok. The soft pretzel was pretty good, the cheese just ok. Don't remember if it's the same pretzel as the other 49th restaurant or not. The beer list is expansive, with beers 49th state brewing is testing out, no beers from other breweries. They have a QR code to scan to see the list and they project it on the wall. We got flights to try different beers. They had a few chocolate and coffee stouts. I tried the Mexican stout and it did not have any hint of cinnamon in it like was described. Also tried the apple cider donut beer. The more I drank it the more overly sweet it was. Happy to try different beers and we enjoyed the atmosphere. The guy working, I think his name was Richard. He was great taking care of everyone and being the only one to hold down the entire room. Great place if you want to try some beers and dont want to deal with the hustle and bustle of 49th state brewing up the road.
