i have eaten here twice in the past week - once for dinner and again this morning around 2 am. I understand staffing issues, but there is no way people arent waking up this morning puking their absolute brains out. After an hour and a half wait, my boyfriend was served undercooked french toast, and within the eggs scraps of previously cooked meals. I was served biscuits and gravy that had been sitting under warming lights for over 20 minutes, turning the biscuits into hockey pucks. We ordered a pancake to take home for our dog and it had chocolate all over it! My roommates eggs were undercooked as well. We do greatly appreciate what our server did to amend the situation, though her diligence earlier on would have been much more meaningful as opposed to waiting until we had already walked out of the restaurant unhappy. read more

I love this diner! It has a real 50's feel aesthetically while 60's to 80's music videos play. I had the shortcake French toast (sans strawberries) with two OM fried eggs and crisp bacon. Ate lunch after Rock Creek Farm and won't go back. The food was bland. The service and food delivery was slow. I even fell asleep at the table waiting on our food. The pancakes are dense and chewy. They also had a hint of coffee but I don't know why. The yogurt for my younger one's meal was forgotten. The hash browns were greasy and bland. My husband said his gravy tasted like it was from a package instead of scratch. The waitress only came back to drop off the check. So we've been away from here for awhile, probably just to let the newness die down. We went to Gunther Toodys the previous week and that's what prompted us to go back to Great Scott's. We went in around 9am and greeted ad seated immediately . Waitress was courteous and attentive. Our meal came in pretty reasonable time considering the amount of political that were there. Our meals were cooked to our order and you can pretty order off the entire menu. And one thing they have added since our last time in here is alcohol if you are looking for that with your meal. Tuesday night we ordered a meal for pick up. Food was great one shake order was wrong but overall a great meal. Friday we decided we needed another milk shake. Requested four malts and told 15 minutes. No problem took 30 minutes they were a little bit busy half full restaurant. My family and I have been coming here every since I need to Colorado. It's one of those feel-good hang out spots. Makes me feel like I'm a little boy in the 50s, leave it to beaver, if you know what I mean. Most the time we hit this place up for breakfast, we had him make night shakes as well. I guess you could say it's our go to spot for 50s fun time. A few tips, you have to pay a dollar if you wanted to split your meal in the kitchen between two people. That would be a negative. We go to Great Scotts several times a month. I must say, under its current ownership and management, it has gone down hill as far as pricing and service. For the most part, the food is good, but not really worth the current prices. We went there tonight, got taken to a table, and it was probably about 10 minutes before a server even acknowledged us. The family that got sat next to us was acknowledged almost immediately. The guy that got sat behind us sat there for 10 minutes, was never acknowledged, and he got up and walked out. Came in this place for breakfast this morning and was a little disappointed because it wasn't as good as it used to be. I actually haven't eaten here for many years, but remember the food tasting a lot better than it does now. The French toast is still pretty good, but the rest of the food was just okay. On the other hand, the service is good! The waitress was very attentive and checked in on us frequently, as well as very polite. I came hungry looking for huge plates and great costs, neon, and red pleather seating, and was not disappointed. When you first come in there is a basket of cinnamon rolls free to eat while you wait. This gesture sets the tone for the rest of your visit. There is plenty of seating, so I imagine wait times wouldn't be too long during busy times, we were seated within five minutes on a Sunday afternoon. Kind, funny, and non-obtrusive waitstaff are competent and create a comfortable atmosphere. I have been coming here for over 18 years now, and the last two times have been very disappointing, the floors are dirty with sticky residue on it, my tea had floatyes in it, if you look closely between the forks they had dried up food, the tables are sticky from dirty rags going over and over on it. We wanted a big booth for party of 5. only 2 of us were there others were 3 minutes away. hostess said she could not seat us till full party arrived. We have been going to this place since it opened and never been told this especially when they were half empty! Good diner food, fun nostalgic atmosphere, and wonderfully accommodating to our large party. We had about 8 people, and service was friendly and quick. Let me just start off by saying that I can still almost taste the savory green chile sauce that topped a few plates. Coming from a Californian, finding a place in Colorado that has a good chile sauce is a gem! We started off with the green chile and cheese tater tots. I'm still twitching with how good it was. My husband got the Big Boy breakfast burrito and it was huge! Definitely a knife and fork meal. It was so full of flavor with crispy bacon inside and well cooked potato. They top it all off with that green chile sauce, and it oozes with happy burrito time. I opted for the Loaded Jalapeno Bacon Burger, and I was feeling adventurous, so I got it with the gluten free Multigrain Honey Bread. The burger ingredients were great, and by itself, the gluten free bread was top notch. You could even get that bread and spread butter all over it for a good snack. The curly fries were the standard type, but they were just what I had wanted as a side. This place also has some fun alcoholic drinks. I opted for the Twisted Root Beer Float and my husband got the Irish Mule. I highly recommend the Root Beer Float. The Mule was standard, but no complaints from the husband. My wife and I just came from there and I am appalled at the lack of service. A man came in after my wife and I were seated and got drinks and was going to get his order taken. We walked out. This place is advertised as an eatery. My question is why do people of color still get treated like second class citizens when my money that I work hard for is just as green as the Caucasian man seated after us. I would like to make a plea to ALL people of color to boycott this obvious den for prejudice.
