    Margarita menu
    Valerie M.

Super hot day decided to go run errands stopped in to have a margarita ! We were greeted immediately when we walked in the door, which is a big plus for me we were seated we were brought menus. We were brought water chips and salsa. We decided that we weren't gonna have lunch or dinner. We just wanted to cool down for a little bit so we only had chips and salsa, water and margaritas. It was a pretty great decision. They had a few TVs on and they were showing women's soccer. We enjoyed watching that and we chitchatted enjoying our time out of the heat. Our waitress was very attentive to us, even though we weren't having dinner or lunch ! Thanks For The Read Until Next Time.....

The food was okay. My combo meal really just sort of melted away into a giant pile of chili with beans, tortilla, and relleno mixed in. Very standard Denver style Mexican food. Not bad, but nothing special. I ordered through the drive through and the wait was pretty long.

My sister took my mom to this hidden gem and she suggested we meet here for dinner. We live in Denver and close to Federal. This is our new FAVORITE Mexican restaurant!!!! I am so sad my picture of all of our dinners disappeared. I set my phone down to eat and came back..gone. However, I will be back and take another. I will start off with the salsa. Looking at it and then dipping my chip, I'm thinking, this is going to be like tomato sauce..no no no, this salsa is flavorful and slightly spicy, and I LOVE everything spicy. So happy there. We made happy hour and the house small margarita was in a pint glass and good. It didn't taste like sweet and sour mix and it didn't taste like all fresh limes, but I liked it and I am also a picky margarita drinker, so I am starting to feel excited. I asked the server for the spiciest sauce and he said the diabola, I ordered a soft rellano with that. It was salty, but the spice level was sweaty, drink some water Hotl! Matt got the biggest combo. Which we probably could have shared and was a great idea (we could try most everything). Now I have to tell you mexican food, to me- born and raised in Colorado, is all about the chili/sauce (sorry Cali, salsa is good but I don't want my burrito smothered in it) and they did NOT disappoint here..thus my new favorite Mexican restaurant!! We tried all but two and all were DELICIOUS! Green chili, red chili, tapatia, and diabola..YUM Service was attentive and friendly. Matt says we will be back next week to take more pics. He loved it too. PS They have a drive through and hand helds for under $5 I would add this to your places to try if you haven't! LOVE THIS PLACE

Super disappointed with our experience. Seems like the restaurant was prioritizing everyone else, and the drive-through orders. We were a group of 7 adults and 3 children and when we came in, the restaurant was not filled. We ordered, and many other folks came after us. But we noticed they got most of their food, and we were still waiting for our orders. It took us a while to get even our waters. I only ordered guac and chips, and it came out first after 15 minutes of waiting. Everyone was still waiting for theirs. The kids each ordered ice cream, but they haven't got it and they got super impatient. After another 15 minutes of waiting, we just asked if we could get everything to go. When we got into our cars, we realized the ice creams were just packaged blue bunny cups (if they would have just served us those promptly, we wouldn't be so dissatisfied).

Food was so yummy-queso is sooo good, great selection, quick service, Cesar is great! The atmosphere is laid back and easy.

The $4.75 side of guacamole. I estimate about 1oz of guacamole and 1 oz of sour cream. Told to pound sand when I said my order was wrong

First time trying this location and we ordered through Grub Hub. The food was decent, though only slightly warm by the time we got it. The biggest problem is that they made a mistake on the order and then when I called, was told there was nothing they could do. I ordered a side of guacamole for $4.75 and got this: about 2 tablespoons of guacamole and 2 tablespoons of sour cream. When I called to tell them we didn't get the side of guacamole and it was a more sour cream (I don't eat dairy - thanks guys) - I was just told by the guy on the phone that this was correct. So, be warned I guess. If you order a flipping $5 order of guacamole, you get mostly a pile of sour cream.

I am always happy with this place. Great Mexican food at great price. The owner is very dedicated to this business and they seem to do a lot of it. I will usually get something simple, but the food will always be good. I like chips and salsa and ice tea and they seem to keep refilling these with my meal until sometimes it is hard time move Very nice people running a great family business. I definitely recommend this place

I have been a regular here for awhile and the food has been good, but they have recently kicked it up a notch by adding a new menu with better and more flavorful spicy food. Las Potrancas sits right off of Wadsworth and 66th and from the outside does not look that great, but has a drive through and a great small and colorful atmosphere inside. My husband and I have had a hard time finding good Mexican food in Arvada or Westminster; but this place is by far hands down one of the best! The salsa and green chili are spicy and flavorful and the menu selection is abundant! Today I tried the nagon burrito, a burrito with roasted green chili sauce and a queso topping filled with grilled caramelized chicken and topped with quacomole. I could actually taste the roastiness of the sauce. I would order this again and again.

But at the same time, I also did not mind having all of the servers to ourselves. We just got done with the massage and I was craving something Mexican. When I sat down and started looking at the menu and saw that there were so many different classics to choose from as well as some twists on new flavors. I was pretty excited to try this place out. I was not crazy about the chips and salsa. The chips are really hard. And the salsa is extra spicy, which is completely unnecessary. So we just didn't eat much of that. Put her food didn't come out quickly and it was hunt and it was very good. I had to cheese enchiladas and I cleaned my plate. My date had a burrito. Smothered and it looked. Super yummy. It was really good. I was very surprised at how good it was and how it hit home. I'm used to eating Mexican food in Mexico and in Texas and this was fabulous. When we got the bill, I was surprised that how affordable our mail was for is what we got. I thought that this is definitely somewhere. I would want to visit again. This is classic. Easy, fun, good atmosphere, good music, good vibes. Good service.

The service is usually pretty slow, even when it's not super busy, but grab a pitcher of margaritas to keep your glass full and enjoy the company and some delicious food! The food does come out in a normal time once your server gets around to you, so not a major concern there. The margaritas are good, the Queso Fundido- while a cheese dip instead of a normal fundido- is delicious, and the portions of food are more than generous. The Burrito Supreme is smothered in delicious cheese and green chili, and is packed with steak and goodness!

We got a table within 10 minutes despite it being pretty packed at 7 pm on a Tuesday. We started with the El Minero cocktail which was great as well as esquites and the salsa trio. The Macha salsa is SO good! The esquites was also really good. We ordered a carne asada taco, birria taco, and chicken enchiladas suizas and enjoyed all of them! The carne asada taco was the least exciting so we would probably try something else next time. Overall, a great dinner, we can't wait to go back

He was awesome all night. Their drinks were some of the best in the city. I had a paloma, wife had the casa marg. Both were very fresh tasting. For mains I did some tacos, and she did the enchiladas both ways. I was very disappointed by the Birra Taco. The shell was not a traditional birra shell. It was just some cheesy short rib in a regular street taco corn tortilla. They were all on the same soft tortilla. Maybe because they are 100% gluten free for everything. The lack of gluten really held back the tortillas from being very traditional or very good. The carnitas taco had great flavor. It lacked any crispy bits that separates carnitas from pulled pork. But the flavor was there. The enchiladas were stuffed with chicken. Great flavor for both ways. Creamy jalapeno was the winner. Overall the ambiance was exciting but a bit too loud. It didn't quite require yelling to have a conversation with someone next to you. But definitely a lively atmosphere.
