There's 2 locations, one at each of the food courts. Neither are that good anymore. I remember this being one of my favorite places to eat at the mall in my younger years. The fries were part of what sold me, I liked that they were real potatoes cut up and had that homemade taste. Now they taste like any other frozen fries. I usually get a sandwich but mod chicken for the protein. The sandwiches aren't as good as I remember them being back in the day. One time I ordered a baked potato and they cooked it in the microwave. It was small & wasn't that good either. Overall the quality of the food went down. read more

Great Steak is what you would expect out of a mall food court Cheesesteak location. When we came to visit the mall of America I tried to hit food places that I didn't recognize from places I go more frequently. This made for an easy something different during a meal my kids opted for more well known fast food chain options. The service was decent enough for a fast food style sandwich place. The fries were fresh and the better part of my meal, but the sandwich was decent enough for me to eat most of it. Would I go out of my way for either one of the locations they have here at the mall of America, one at each of the food courts in the mall, probably not. We sure were glad we went here. This was our third meal at the Mall of America over a long weekend, and the least expensive. We ordered two sides to avoid high carb bread: bowls of chili and the potato skins. The skins were $3.99 per order and fairly generous with the melted cheese and sour cream. We also ordered the chili. This was on the menu also for 3.99 per order, but for some reason we were only charged just over $2 for both orders, as if it was an extra you might put on a hot dog rather than a separate side order. They were small dishes to be sure, but with the onion, melted cheese and a generous scoop of sour cream, we were happy to pay under $10 for the entire meal. I arrived to the Mall of America famished and being that this was my first time visiting the teenage girls' dream house, I had no idea where to get food. I attempted to look at a digital map of the mall, but the choices were overwhelming. Do I want a sit-down restaurant? If so, which restaurant? Do I want a more fast food type place? If so, which place and which food court? I gave up and decided to walk until I found something that sounded good. After perusing one of the food court's I opted to try Great Steak. We don't have many options for good Philly Cheese Steak in San Diego and I figured that being closer to its origin, the Philly Cheese Steak here would be good. I was right! There were so many items on the menu that sounded good, but I finally decided on the Buffalo Chicken Philly: Grilled with onions, white American cheese & spicy Buffaly sauce, topped with lettuce, tomato and mayo. It was delicious! The chicken was cooked and diced to perfection and was overloaded with ingredients. The bread was so fresh and soft too. My friend and I also decided to split a side of the cheese fries, which were equally as yummy. The fries were the perfect golden brown and the warm gooey cheese that doused them was delicious. Even sharing, there was entirely too much food for us to finish either our sandwiches or fries, though at the time I wished I had a bigger appetite to indulge more. The cashier wasn't overly friendly, he was quite indifferent towards me and the other customers, but the service was fast, which was appreciated. It's a Philly cheesesteak place that looks like it'd be terrible, but it was actually the best Philly cheesesteak sandwich I've ever had, and it was authentic to the ones I've had in actual Philadelphia. they used to be really good, I love their food but recently it's been really different from what I'm used to and since I know it's been all 2022 now it's 2023. Hopefully it changes I just got my regular Philly cheesesteak. The cheese does not taste the same. I brought Philly cheesesteak fries and they are super dry with no taste on top of that. Why all the hate for Great Steak, Mall of America? I wasn't sure if I should eat here given the poor reviews but nothing else was jumping out at me and their chicken ranch sandwich sounded good. I ended up eating nearly the entire sandwich, which I rarely do, and it tasted delicious! The chicken combined with the melted cheese, lettuce, tomato and ranch was perfectly grilled and seasoned. I had no complaints with the sandwich, honestly. My friend and I also shared an order of cheese fries but even between the two of us, we couldn't finish them and our sandwiches. Ate here 3 times this past week. I tried this place out the first night by ordering a super steak sandwich. The the bread came out soggy, but it was most likely due to ordering take out and walking back to the hotel as the freshly cooked steak was steaming. Went back the second time and ordered the original philly and cheese fries. This rating is based on the West location by Lego land. They always do an excellent job at the north location and give me cheese fries. I am so pissed. The whole reason I go there is for cheese fries. They didn't give me cheese fries . Not to mention I have to eat in the car. If I knew I was going to get crappy fries I'd get something else on the way home. It was $22 without drinks. I swear that's more expensive than the other one. I didn't save any money for not getting drinks. And right now it doesn't matter because you have to take it to go, but they don't give refills anymore & it costs them like 5 cents. read more

Working at the MOA I have tried a lot of the places and today I was really wanting a cheese steak but get my allergic to red meat I had to settle for a chicken philly. First off, the chicken is a precooked processed patty..FML. Tasted awful. While they were making mine I watched them fry two eggs for 5 minutes...they were DONE! And then served them to someone. Got my chicken and fries. Chicken sandwich was awful because the bread wasn't toasted and the chicken tasted what I would think styrofoam tasted like. Just now April 8th at 6:55 the one by Burger King the girl told me they're closed & they don't close until 7. They're really expensive & they're saying they don't give refills because of Covid. But Culver's gives refills. They just don't care about their customers closing 5 minutes early & no refills. Screw these jerks. It sucks because I'm hungry & there's nothing else I want. I had no idea the mall closes at 7. I used to give these people tips, but it's so expensive. I'm glad I haven't given them tips recently, closing 5 minutes early. Very busy location on a Saturday! The service was friendly, fast, and helpful. I enjoyed the original philly with added green peppers and chose the cheese sauce. I wasn't disappointed. The bread was soft and chewy and the meat, onions, and peppers cooked just right. We split an order of fries. They seem to be cooked fresh instead of sitting in a warmer, which was nice. Breakfast today: $5.77 for a veggie omelet ( with jalapeños ), crispy tater tots, and a coffee.... not bad at all! It was early and not busy... the cashier who took my order was friendly and was considerate to ask my desired level of jalapeño spiciness.... Told her "yes jalapeños just don't go wild" the chef kidded me while setting the food on a tray "extra jalapeños just for you" and smiled. Good selection of condiments too...tasted like Heinz Catsup...my fav... taco sauce went well with the omelet. Food was clean with mellow music....
