    31. California Chicken Cheese Steak

Great job Hopkins location Jersey Mike's! You exceeded my expectations for having my order ready and exceptional service. I had a catering order of two boxes of party sandwiches and they were ready when I arrived 7 minutes early. (I wasn't expecting this!). The Maple Grove location hasn't started our personal orders until we arrive, so I opted to try another location for a work event. Glad I did! Plus they helped bring it out to my car. Thank you! If you haven't had the hot subs... my favorite is the California chicken cheese steak sub. Evil! For cold subs, most have it Mike's way (without mayo), but with oils and seasonings. Amazing that I don't have to request mayo off of every sub when ordering! My crew loves this best! Thanks for being so great!

Great service! Great sandwich for the price 4 stars because of the young man who engaged with me- Kevin. Super polite, professional.., the chef who made the sandwiches #20 and #56, did a GREAT job! My first time ordering, won't be my last! Today was had the Italian cold sandwich #13- clearly I'm hooked- I gotta day there "ain't" no skimping on the meat or "stuff". However their sandwiches need something? Maybe salt and pepper - I used to go to Togo's in San Jose California- their #16, was similar to J.M.'s but had that sprinkled on the bread on top of the stuff and in the Italian they also add pepperoncini's. I'll be back ! Service always spot on. Went back today even better service! Great staff = great sandwiches!

The guy that turned his back to the camera in the middle of the photo is the worst of the bunch bad attitude was rude and disrespectful.

I'm a big fan of Jersey Mike's especially like the big kahuna but I'll never go to this location to get one or anything else. The staff here is rude and the place is very dirty and awful my experience here was less than one star. I highly recommend choosing a different Jersey Mike's don't ever come to this one unless they change the staff.

Place was filthy when I walked in. Wasn't greeted, waited way to long before anyone asked what I wanted. It was my first time eating here and I wasn't properly informed about the menu. One employee was nice but the rest of the crew was looking as if they didn't wanna be here. Bathrooms weren't managed quite dirty. Manager spoke with attitude I will not be returning.

I've been here a few times and always get the same thing, the original Italian, Mike's way. No complaints about the sub, it's always good. However, today the place was filthy. There were 4 workers and two customers (us) at the time. They were playing on their phones, standing around doing nothing. I wanted to tell one to get a broom and the other to wipe the tables, but I'm not the manager. The other thing is the parking, it's terrible! Not nearly enough parking for all the shops there. I couldn't enjoy my sandwich as I watched people get out of their cars, flinging their doors, dinging the car next to them without a care. That may be the one reason I don't go back - the parking. I gave three stars, not because of the food, for everything else.

I informed the staff that it was my first time here and they were very awesome walking me through the ordering process. Talking to another customer in the store she recommended to order online as it shows all the customization options, rather than ordering in person. I believe that you can do unlimited toppings and it's no extra cost. The restaurant was clean and had a welcoming vibe. I ordered a Cesar salad & pick 2 meal (1/2 Pizza + Garlic Cheese Bread). Everything was really great tasting & I liked the option to customize. I had plenty to take home and eat for lunch the next day. They also offer lunch specials and family meal deals on specific days. I will definitely be back.

There were multiple types of tables and seats to choose from. We chose to order on the tablet rather than wait in line to order. The experience using Toast on the tablet was smooth. We got our order numbers and it was easy to keep an eye on the screen to see when the orders would be ready. We also received text notifications. This all happened very quickly! One thing we noticed was that when they called out order numbers, it was fairly loud for the amount of people there at the time. The burger (wagyu brisket jalapeño) and hot honey crispy chicken sandwich that we got were both delicious and just as expected! I loved the shoestring fries since that's my favorite kind of fry. I also thought the fry sauce was the best balance of sweet and tangy. We ordered dessert at the table using the provided QR code and again were able to track when our orders would be ready on the screen. The regular shake and small soft serve cup were the same size - the pictures made it seem like the shake would be bigger but that didn't bother us, just worth noting. I loved the fudge and Oreo crumble on the soft serve! Overall just a solid spot to hangout and have a good burger, fries, and dessert! I'll definitely be back.

I also like the layout, where you can order at one window, pickup at another (there is a board where you can keep track and even see how many minutes until your order is ready!), and yet another window for pop refills and dessert orders. Very well thought out. I thought the hamburger was very high quality: juicy, tasty, and a good char flavor. The fries were good too: shoestring, but well cooked: not greasy and not overcooked, which is easy to do with thin fries. The portion is huge and seems like it is made to split with another person, or even two. I did also get their soft serve ice cream and that was yummy too. A few quibbles: It's tricky to get to because you can SEE it off of Highway 7, but its off a frontage road. I recommend using a GPS the first time you go there, so you don't keep waiving to it from Highway 7. The second quibble is this: Why do they ask for a tip when it's self-service at the counter window (or even at a self-service kiosk, or online, you pick up the order from the window and you bus your own table. Exactly who is the tip for because there is no waitstaff? If it's for the people who cook the food, isn't that by definition what they are paid for? This tip thing in the US is way out of whack. Also, there is an upcharge if you use a credit card which is actually a third quibble. Those three quibbles equal a subtraction of one star.

Any restaurant that has the word "Castle" in it must be of the highest quality and fit mostly for…read moreroyalty (like Burger King). To see that it is actually designed as a castle made me feel like I was at Buckingham Palace, or perhaps Windsor Castle. The hamburgers were about the same size as the crown jewels, so I knew I was in the right place. I expected more of a manicured garden at this estate, but there was a Walgreens next door and perhaps a multi-acre estate was not available in Hopkins when the castle was constructed. I'm sure they are working on plans for the royal garden. Interior Ambiance: It does seem to be a bit more "rustic" than the palaces of the United Kingdom, but it did contain both booths and tables and a magic soda machine that dispenses different flavors of pop at the touch of a button. There is also a photographic exhibition (a permanent exhibition, I am told) of various other castle locations from the mid part of the last century. Signs that inform you that you can "buy 'em by the sack," are strategically placed on the walls. I'm not sure what "em" are, nor what size is a "sack," but I'm sure it's a good deal. Service: They have a specially-designed counter made from chef-grade stainless steel or perhaps silver, where you place your order. One of the castle-staff is waiting to take your order (assuming they are not taking an order for the drive-through part of the castle). You can pay either by cash or by credit card; I'm not sure if they accept bit coin. I do know they appreciate US Currency over Euros. I was impressed that monetary-taker asked for my name and I assume that it's so that she can send me a personal thank you note after my purchase. I was also impressed that she remembered my name when my order was ready. Food Presentation: I was told to order more than one hamburger at a time, so I ordered six of them and they each came with five hand-stamped holes to allow the onions to permeate throughout the meat. This is an old French technique that I have seen demonstrated by Julia Childs, so I know this restaurant is of the highest caliber. I assume the hamburger was A5 Wagyu beef, but I'm not sure. It contained very finely diced onions (great knife skills!), a slice of dill pickle probably imported from Katz's Deli in New York City, and a bun that was soft as a cloud. I know that quality is a key concern at White Castle because they pack each hamburger in its own little box, as carefully as Dayton's used to wrap Christmas presents. In fact, it was like receiving six presents from the King himself. Food Review: Never have I tasted anything like a White Castle hamburger. The finely chopped onion and the crisp bite of the pickle produce a unique taste. I added a bit of ketchup to enhance the experience and I was surprised that I had finished the first burger without quite realizing that I had eaten it. Fortunately, I had five more presents to unwrap. I should also mention that there are complete novels, well, short novels, printed on every box, such as tales of knights missing their own weddings because they had to buy White Castles first. One must admire such loyalty, even it comes at the expense of the damsel-in-distress bride waiting at the alter. By this time, I was really looking forward to my second hamburger and wondering if it could match the flavor and texture of the first hamburger. I am more than pleased to tell you that they are able to maintain uniform consistency. And so it went until I had finished all of my burgers. Apparently this chain has been around for over 100 years and they are celebrating with a "1921" burger, which was the year the king founded this establishment. Ironically, the 1921 burger contains ingredients that they never used in 1921 (or any of the years after that) such as tomato and lettuce. But if you are the King, I guess you can do whatever you want within your castle.
