I just discovered this GEM after visiting Sanibel for over 25 years?!?! I can't believe I never gave it a shot! The pizza is AMAZING....and I really mean, AMAZING. Grandma pie, regular pie, the works..they are all good. The place is always crowded with locals hanging out, which is a good sign. The staff is very friendly and pleasant. They have a great menu but I have yet to go in and eat in person. I usually do take out and it has been fantastic. Maybe next year I will go in and sit down and actually eat there! read more

Good solid pizza choice with excellent and quick service. We arrived around 7 to an empty restaurant. It appeared that they were cleaning up for the evening as they close at 8. We were still welcomed and were treated quite well. Thank you, we will return, but earlier next time. read more

Sports bar atmosphere. Small menu - very decent prices. Unfortunately, Sanibel/l and Captiva have ruined the bacon offerings, and I won't chance that, so I ordered the BA fish sandwich (Big Ass?... yes! Waitress admitted, and this sandwich is big!) Still great after all these years. They recently updated the place, new booths paint etc. but still the same Pittsburgh sports bar vibe. Pizza is still good. They have something like 30 beers on tap, nice wine list. The garden salad is very nice as is the garlic bread topped with melted cheese. If pizza is not your thing they have a very varied menu including Mediterranean food (gyros, tabúleleh, hummus etc) sandwiches, burger etc. Also a long list of appetizers so good place to have beer or two and watch a game with some bar food read more

Two sides to this review. First, the food was above average. Two pizzas to go. Very thin crust and loaded with toppings. Didn't really enjoy the lack of structure (floppy slices) but it did still taste good. The other side was the chaos of ordering. I'll start by saying the place was packed, obviously a good sign for them. They take thier phone off the hook on Friday and Saturday so don't try to order by phone. Ordered in person and they told me to come back in 25-30 minutes. I got my pizza and hour later. During the chaos you can see the one chef working hard, might need some help. read more

Where do I begin, when I called I asked to put in three separate orders and was told I wasn't allowed to, that their menu states that they don't do that. I mean I guess I could have been a true jerk and then called in all three orders differently. We chose not to. I ordered the great white pizza substituted black olives for spinach. The pizza just really wasn't awesome. I also ordered the bacon cheese fries appetizer, got home to find it was just a box of plain fries . Was so disappointed! The windows are so dirty, it's disgusting and the dust on the window sills looks like they have not been cleaned since Ian. Our table was not wiped after the last person left. Attention beer snobs, Great White Grill has the best beer tap selection on the island. Delirium Tremens, Kasteel Rouge, among many others you wouldn't expect at a tropical island sports bar. Unless you're a prude, don't listen to people who say this isn't worth your vacation dollar. It is a bar/grill frequented by locals that has been, in my experience, very open to tourists. I would call the food Pittsburgh centric as they serve sandwiches the same way as the famous Pirminti Bros (fries and slaw inside the sandwich) and offer a pizza called The Steel Curtain, which I rather enjoyed... I think this was the pizza dressed like a cheese burger. Look, if a local bar/grill is beneath you for a dining option, stay away. Go to the Mucky Duck and congratulate yourself on your superior taste. Or go ahead and hit the grocery to cook for yourself... if you can. If you love beer, want to catch a penguins game (GO PENS!), and get a look at where the locals hang - then check it out. I have found their service to be nothing but exceptional, the owner friendly, the food tasty.... and did I mention it's the best beer selection on the island? read more

Really, really wanted to like a Steeler's fan base place. Sorry, but lunch was mostly inedible. My friend ordered a " Greek salad" comprised of a paltry plate of iceberg lettuce, with 3 black olives, a few sad lonely randomly placed pieces of Feta, and a scant ITALIAN dressing- it was awful. Chicken sandwich with peppers, onions was really the best choice, while the hummus and tabouli platter was ok. Just two star barely ok. Most annoying was a few Vikings fans whose kids must have been raised in a Viking like cave because they acted like cavemen or Little Un-women. Funny how one very obnoxious group of out of town, ne'r do well patrons ruined with a capital "R" our impression of the place we were hoping would be the Pittsburgh fan offsite. No can do. I don't know what the hype is for this place, but I wasn't too thrilled with the service and food. I was with my two kids, another mom and her kid. I gave one star for plenty of parking in their lot. I gave one star for the food/service. Other tables that were seated after us got their food before we did. They managed to give us a slight discount for the inconvenience of the delivery of the food. The kids enjoyed the pizza. I took one bite of the cheese side of the pizza and nearly spit it out as it was like an explosion of pure grease in my mouth. Plus the bottom was burnt, the kids didn't seem to care. Sorry I won't be back unless I'm with a friend only and not my children. read more

We had 3 pizzas delivered to us, delivery was about and hour which is fine they were pretty busy on Island this week. The pizza was really really bad had little cheese on them and complete lack of favor. But the crust was the worst it's thin crust which I usually love but this was like cardboard with a little red sauce. Put it this way I was traveling with 4 teenagers they all hated it and I ended up throwing away left overs and thats a first for pizza! I ordered the Sanibel and Margarita pies. Both were decent. Yet, I felt like they skimped a little on the tomato for the Margarita. The real issue is what I witnessed as I waited for my pies to come out of the oven. First, the cook was very professional and hygienic. I witnessed him washing his hands after handling raw chicken. Second, the delivery guy was not hygienic. I watched him prepare a salad with bare and unwashed hands. So, order the pizza. But pass on the salad would be my advice. read more
