What a fantastic trip to Great Wolf Lodge we had! This is our second time visiting this location. I must say, this time our trip was definitely better than the first and I owe it all to the PAW PASS! This place has so many different things to do and see and buy. The paw pass is a great way to get a little bit of it all but for a bargain! The water park is the main attraction here and as you walk into the park there is no question why. From a huge tree house filled with different paths and slides to the wave pool and everything in between, there is something for all ages to enjoy. The heated pool is a favorite of mine. The children were able to visit the water park, play magiquest which is a wand activated game. They also play a game of bowling, climb the ropes at the Howlers rope course, create a stuff animal, fill a cup with candy, get a tattoo! And I'm absolutely positive I am missing some other things. There is just SO MUCH!! They have dining indoors and close to the lodge. We brought some of our own food, snacks and drinks but also grabbed a pizza and beer from the indoor pizza place! The entire hotel is a swart box and I could not wait to get to our car. People were buying fans for their rooms. We did have a rowdy crowd next door and they did swap our room out at 11 pm. Kudos to the front desk. Staff excellent, hotel a sweat box. read more

This place is an awesome option if you have young kids. We had never been before but were going a little stir crazy during the pandemic. Our local splash pads and pools had all been closed and we really missed swimming. Our initial reservation was changed twice because this location had to delay opening day a few times, but they compensated us with resort credit to make up for the inconvenience. We stayed for two nights in the Grizzly Bear suite (2 bed, 2 bath, small kitchenette). Check in is at 3pm but you are welcome to enter the water park starting at 1pm the day you check in and can use the water park facilities the whole day on the day you check out. I loved how everyone in your party gets a wristband that acts as your room key and credit card. So convenient! The water park is small (especially compared to Massanutten Water Park). However, it's actually a better size for young kids because you can let them wander off and be able to keep an eye on everyone from a central location. I wish that more of their indoor clocks were accurate, though. We went with the grandparents and they appreciated how they could join us at the water park and come and go as they pleased. Great Wolf is not booking to full capacity so there were no lines for any of the rides and no crowds. No masks in the water park (other than the employees), but in the public areas of the hotel masks are required for ages 10 and over. We bought our 5 and 3 year old wands to do the Magic Quest game and that ended up being surprisingly fun and entertaining (if kind of glitchy at times). It was cute seeing them wander around the hotel, waving their wands at different objects, and completing one of the requests by defeating the dragon. I'd recommend it and say it's definitely worth the price. We also had a lot of fun at the mini bowling alley (groups were spaced out) and the 3D theater. The staff was really nice and accommodating. We checked out one of the story times which was underwhelming. What was better were the free "to go" crafts they handed out in the afternoons - materials and instructions for origami and a beaded bracelet. My kids spent a decent chunk of time quietly working on them by themselves. We got some of their pizza to eat for one lunch (affordable and tasty!) and the rest of the time drove off site to pick up food from local restaurants. My kids had A BLAST and it was relatively low stress. Would definitely recommend, especially for kids ages 2-10. read more

Great Wolf Lodge is a awesome place to visit but has some things to work on and/or fix. Most of the staff were kind and easy going, but occasionally a small portion of the staff were rude to the guests when at the water park. The water park has a lot to offer including water slides, outdoor area, wave pool, hot tubs, playground area, etc. The room was clean and pretty spacious, however the blankets are short and are not warm at all, you can hear all the noise above and around you at all times even late at night. The bathroom in my room was very clean! They have a Buffett with salads, quesadillas, baked chicken, mashed potatoes, desserts, and much more! They have a arcade and shows in the lobby for the kids every night!! I had a overall good stay at Great Wolf Lodge and I will be back! read more

My family of 10 has been going here for vacation every year for the last 5 years. This is the first time where I might decide not to return. We got to the hotel around 1pm, checked in is at 4pm but we got our pool passes and spent the time in the water park. We always see if our rooms are ready early and usually it is, this year we had a new baby so we checked to see if we could get our room 1 hour early. The rooms were not ready so we decided to get food and wait till 4. At 4 our rooms still were not ready. I went to the desk and asked how much longer they said they were in the final stages of inspection and shouldn't be longer than a few minutes. 4:15 came and went we were not given our rooms till 4:30. We paid a lot for these rooms and everyone was restless so time was of the essence. We showered and headed to bowling, half way through the game a fire alarm went off and we have to evacuate for about 45 min. Went back to finish our game and decided to try the golf they just added. Unfortunately the circuit blew and was not working to play golf for the night. Whatever right? So we went to the arcade and we have always had a great time there playing the games and usually winning mostly everything . This year not so much so we really were banking on the prizes in the ticket redemption center. Well, it was empty and had only one thing with great wolf lodge on it. Very disappointing. We were hoping to go to the buffet after the arcade but because of the fire alarm taking up so much time we didn't have time to do that before it closed. After a disappointing day we went to sleep only to find the pull out couch was basically not-useable the springs were so hard and loud it was pointless to sleep on . To top it off At 5 am we hear delivery trucks one after the other backing up beeping and hydraulic lifts that lasted an hour and a half. Finally decided to just get up and get coffee to realize they don't take Mobil orders at the DD so we waited in a very long line to get coffee and a few sandwiches which were cold!!! I am so disappointed in this trip we really loved coming here over the last 5 years but I think we will skip next year and get an Airbnb instead. read more

So my 5 year old loved this place. I thought it was pretty cool but very dated (even with the log cabin vibe). We had an issue with our vents leaking and although someone came up immediately to fix the active leak you could tell by the stains and condition of the ceiling it was a long standing issue. We had a fairly decent stay. Kids had a good time bopping around. Be ready for these: 1) Food is terrible and over priced for a bunch of pizza and chicken fingers. You're better off leaving property to eat. 2) They add a 40 dollar resort tax PER NIGHT that they don't disclose up front. We are now referring to it as Great Sick Lodge! EVERY trip, and I mean every trup, someone has come back with bacterial pink eye, ear infection, etc. The last 2 years ALL of us came home with pink eye. It's not their fault that kids go to the bathroom or throw up in the pools but the rooms are also very dirty (only surface clean). We have found wrappers, lipgloss, dirty sock, etc. IN and under the bunk beds. We encountered throw up floating past us in the lazy river and got out immediately. We tried to tell the lifeguard, literally yelling to her (& she was talking to us earlier so not deaf) but she ignored us, probably because she didn't want to clean it. Negative changes: Rooms: the tvs have been removed from the kid's bunk rooms, and see above about how well they clean. Most of the time something is broken. We've had sliding glass door unlockable (security risk), tvs fizzy, phones inoperable, etc. It's always something. Characters: not even cute anymore, like violet looks like a boy now. Kids don't want that change. Adults do to make her gender neutral Food: don't go if you are a vegetarian. There are like a couple things you can eat and the pizza gets old. They've taken the pasta and cheese curds off the menu! You could pay a fortune for the buffet and eat like mac n cheese, a salad, and a vegetable. Games: my kids loved Magic Quest but now they want you to buy upgrades like a statue thing you have to put on the game to beat it-- you will never use that again all year for $18 and there's another one you have to havr for master magi. Such a rip off Staff: ONLY positive this time was the staff. Everyone is always nice and helpful. We've never encountered an issue with the staff. read more

I used to work at this place as a lifeguard and here's why I think this place is terrible 1. sexual assault: they handle sexual assault terribly both within their staff and with guest. I was touched inappropriately by my own coworker so i punched him in self-defense. I was the one to report him, but I was put on suspension because I defended myself. Also, one of my coworkers (underage) and I were working the slides. an old man was hitting on her and even touched her. did the supervisors/managers kick the man out? no. 2. parents treat us like babysitters when we should be watching over the rest of the pools. I had this 2-year-old boy running around in the kiddy pool. he hurt himself and ran out the pool room. I reported it because it seemed suspicious. skip forward to a building wide search for the kids' parents who ended up being in their hotel room the whole time! 3. breaks are almost nonexistent. red cross organizes breaks, so you get a 30-minute break every hour. and I think we really needed this especially since if you're working the night shift, you're walking for 4 hours straight then on top of that we have to clean for another hour. 4. we get paid the same rate as housekeeping and we have to go through more training. and were there to literally save lives. it feels like they just don't care. 5. toxic work environment. that's all. I used to love working here. then I slowly started dreading everyday I had to go to work. don't work here anymore and its definitely improved my mental health though I have a lot to talk about in therapy still. read more

Stayed here Thanksgiving weekend with my spouse and two 3 year olds. Considering the high volume traffic of guests, the facility is in decent shape. Be aware that you can hear everything in the hotel room. Thank goodness for the quiet hours because during the day you can hear children screaming, crying, and loud thuds of them jumping off furniture in the room above you. We got the pup pass which included arcade tokens, free build-a-bear, free ice cream, free candy cup, and free swim goggles. We claimed them all except the goggles so I can't comment on the goggle quality. The water park was great. Both my husband and I were surprised how much fun we had, and by the number of waterslides our three year olds could ride. Even though they have life jackets, we brought our own. Brought our own towels since other reviewers complained about them, but we didn't find any issues with them. The lifeguards are all teens, but super polite and courteous. However, avoid the buffet. I would rather eat at Golden Corral than that place. The only decent place to eat on site is the pizza place. Didn't try the huntsman's grill down the driveway since it was closed for the holiday. You're better off going in to town for all the restaurants (cracker barrel is always a solid go to). We we ended up leaving the day before checkout since we had done everything we were able to do. We plan on staying again, it's all the kids can talk about. As an adult, having realistic expectations is key (knowing it's not the Ritz), that way you'll enjoy your time. read more

Laser tag room too small 30 dollar for 5 mins to play with your kids. The guns didn't even work right. A large group enters the room and takes up all the space that my kids are playing in. Making it not enjoyable for my kids. And they were looking forward to it. Bowling too small of an area also. Family's all in each other's space. Maybe make the app make reservations for these areas. Arcade was too much if you actually wanted to play you had to upgrade so the kids could play more than four games. Really?! That's nuts! Only four games. Come on! Magi-quest was fun but then had to pay extra for the actual game. Just the wand was apart of the pass. What's the point of the wolf pass? Just to upgrade everything. Also, the wolf pass had coupons on the bottom that the resort didn't have any of the items. Why have the coupons then. Double charged for parking each day. Also, a flipping Resort fee! Wtf! We paid so much money to come and you charge for parking and a resort fee. Come on!!! Enjoyed the free events- staff doing them was amazing. They danced their butts off. Actually, all the staff we ran into was amazing. Nice and kind to the adults and the kids. Last complaints... Hot as hell though out the whole hotel. Turn on a fan for the love of god. We are sweating like pigs. Gross! Turn on the AC just a bit! What about seats for the adults and older guest thought the resort. My moms would have to stand everywhere. My kids absolutely loved this place & it was our first time visiting. Check-in was smooth, we were able to check in to our room earlier than I thought, so that was a plus we were able to get our things settled in from our hour drive. Visited the waterpark area & my 9 yr old & 5 yr enjoyed it. My 9 yr old loved all the slides & my 5 yr old loved the little kiddie section. We ended up ordering pizza which added to about $30 for a large cheese and 3 drinks. We ate in our rooms & just relaxed for a few until the PJ dance party. Really cute for younger kids. We had to leave early so we got some donuts and coffee at Dunkin, service was pretty fast. Check out was easy. Prices can be up there so you gotta try and catch a good deal, they always have codes so sign up for their emails! read more

I would give them one star, but I did two as my kids had a good time and I was thoroughly impressed with the life guards. So we only came here because my niece really wanted to have her birthday here and my husband thought our two year old and five month old would enjoy it, so being out voted we booked a night at the lodge. One parking lot is closed off right now.. so finding a spot was a joke. It was chaotic and extremely frustrating. We did order a little birthday bundle for our niece and she got: a happy birthday GWL headband, a happy birthday poster on the room door, 5 balloons on sticks, a birthday card, $10 to the arcade, and a coupon for a scoop of ice cream. The actual park looks big upon entering, but it's actually rather small. The wave pool floor is slightly rough, and one of my kiddos ended up with scraped knees (they did have band-aids so that was nice.)The wave pool reaches around 5 feet and with the waves it's "fun". The lazy stream, I mean river, was short and the wait for a double tube for slides was ridiculous as nobody wanted to give it up. They should of had more available. Also, the infant/toddler area was constantly shut down because kids kept pooping in it..not their fault but still annoying. The food is expensive, so it does feel like you're at a theme park. We got a cheese pizza, about 8 slices, and it was okay - they encourage you to recycle pizza boxes, so my niece was thrilled because she's in a huge 'save the Earth' phase. The arcade was cool. It reminded me of a mini Dave & Buster's. The employees here were super patient and friendly. My niece had her $10 arcade card from her bundle and we spent about $10 for my daughter which we found out was 40 paws (credits). The prizes aren't too bad, but all the "cool" rewards require an insane amount of tickets. They do have kid activities if you leave the pool area early. Check the little paper they give you at check in. For ours, at 7 they did a dance party, and at 8 it was story time. Great way to burn extra energy for bed, or so I thought. Apparently they really do have animals here and they're nocturnal. I highly recommend you NOT get a room on the first floor if you can avoid it. Sure it's close to the entrance of the water park but elephants start going wild starting around 10:30pm - it's AFTER midnight and they're still going at it. It reminds me of living in paper thin apartments all over again. I went to finally complain about the noise as I'm exhausted and now rather angry, and the overnight front desk employees left a lot to be desired. An older bald man (front desk in the AM said his name was Michael*) seemed pretty irritated and he was short with me. He seemed more interested in talking with another staff member who was up front hanging out on the outside. Add the rude customer service to the price of the stay, food, and extra "goodies" and it definitely was not worth the money. We won't be back. read more

First the good news: The kids had a fantastic time, the water slides and other amusements are fun and cater for all ages. The facility is clean, the staff is friendly. I do not think the temperature needs to be so high in the indoor facility. Two or three degrees less would be much more comfortable. The rooms are clean but dated: low ceiling, dark and narrow hallways, the air conditionner/heater is loud and blows straight onto the bed and no way to adjust the directly of the airflow. We went middle of December the outdoor facilities were closed of course. But my praises stop there. This is clearly a system made to put a hole in your wallet. We were there last year in July, and the total cost was $304. (2 adults, 2 kids, 1 night stay, amusement park for two days (which you only use for two half days because you are not going to stay there for 11 hours). Expensive but OK, a little bit of a slurge. This year was a racket. Same scenario: $547.43!! Talk about inflation!! Then because of an illness we needed to change the dates. After being told there was a $75 fee for the change, we were slapped with a $166.88 change fee. But it did not stop there. $3 for a bottle of water at the park, and to top it off when we got there they charged us for parking at the hotel!!! Unbelievable. All in all, it cost us 2 and a half more this year as last year. They won't see me again any time soon!! We did not eat on site because reviews are terrible, so we went and ate at Pierce's Pitt BBQ (great and reasonably priced), Olde Town Pizza (very nice) and the Astronomical Pancake House (Fantastic if a bit pricey) read more

This was always my family's favorite place during Christmas but it looks like the most bare minimum effort was made to decorate the place this year. The floors are filthy, they now charge you for parking even if you book a room, and the food and drink prices are ridiculous. On top of it all, the hallways reek of weed. Ill start off with the 'good': Kids had fun in the waterpark and we went when it wasnt super crowded. The staff was nice, especially in the gift shop. That's about it 'Bad': This place is pretty filthy, specially the rooms. Carpet is old, stained and has that gross film on top that makes you want to wear shoes so your feet soles dont turn black from the dirt. The beds are old, lumpy and the bunkbeds are super dusty. Absolutely mold, mildew or something in rooms. Shortly after walking in, three of our kids were wheezing. In the middle of the night, 2 were ​having asthma attacks, luckily we had their meds, which they havent needed in a very long time. This happened when we stayed there 4 years ago, but hasnt happened in other hotels. If we go back, it will just be to use the waterpark, as we arent staying there again. read more

Parents be aware the arcade prices GO UP at 8pm... as soon as the pool closes. We stayed twice (Spring and Summer) and that's enough for my life. It's a solid family resort overall and you will have a fun trip with kids. Minus 1 star for the gauging in the arcade. Shame on your business model. A normal game goes for 10 paws (game credits at $0.25per, so $2.50 per game) then goes up to 13 paws ($3.25/game) at 8p. Ridiculous. Minus 1 star for continued closures as the outside obstacle course, mini-golf, and inside pool bar never opened. Lazy river floor is so badly worn and chipped causing feet slices. Log siding facade is currently being replaced by less attractive, cheaper looking, green vinyl siding at this time. While the last time we were here they also had an Orkin truck fumagating a 4th floor room. Generally needs some overall repair work, but they're trying. read more

We had so much fun at Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg. Special shoutout to Willow, our virtual assistant who was amazing communicating with us prior to our arrival until we checked out. GWL has an amazing staff and a wonderful customer experience. The room is huge and place is so clean. The theming is spot on too. There are a lot of activities for kids and there is an arcade too. Don't even get me started on food! The food was delicious and not bad for the price either, I suggest to get the dining plan. The waterpark was the most fun of all of course. Our most favorite area is the Crooked Creek and just chillaxing in Raccoon Lagoon. My son loved the Big Foot Pass, Slap Tail Pond, Whooping Hollow. We all ended our waterpark journey in the hot springs. It was our first visit and we cannot wait to go back! read more

After reading reviews of GWL in Williamsburg, I was a bit hesitant about my stay. But I must say, my family and I had a wonderful experience at the Lodge! We stayed for 3 days / 2 nights over Presidents Day weekend 2014. Yes, we payed a premium rate for the room because it was a holiday weekend. Regular weekend rates were about 50% cheaper than what we paid. And yes, the place was busy, again, because it was a holiday weekend. But this is what I thought of the place. Staff: Every staff member that I encountered was super friendly and helpful. At check-in the young lady was fast and efficient at getting us checked in and a quick explanation of the place. Housekeeping was wonderful. We actually declined housekeeping services, but for the 2 nights there we were there they would stop by in the AM, asked if we needed new towels/bath items and if we needed anything she said "I'll be just down the hall, let me know if I can get you anything else!" Lifeguards at the water park looked like they were on top of everything! They eyes were on a constant scan of the place to make sure kids and adults were safe. Room: We stayed in a 4th floor Family Suite that had 2 queen sized beds, and a pull out couch. Each room also had a nice size mini fridge and microwave. I found the room and bathroom to be clean. No complaints here! Common Area: Remember, you are staying at a kid friendly resort. Of course there are kids running around everywhere! Throughout the lobby and the main section of each floor there are Magic Quest stations (an interactive game). Kids run around playing this game from 9am-11pm. When you are in your room, you don't hear the noise as they keep the game stations towards the front of the hallway away from the sleeping rooms. The hotel has only 2 (slow) elevators that run up and down the 4 floors of the place. So be patient during busy times! :) Waterpark: We absolutely loved the water park! It was warm and clean and although it looks like ALOT of people were around, there seemed to always be an open chair, lounge chair and tables for the guest to put there items. There is no need to bring your own towels to the water park and they provide you with towels as soon as you walk in! read more

This was the 3rd time we stayed at GWL. We stayed at the Grizzly suite (2 br suite) for 3 adults & 2 kids. Our 3 & 4 year old had a BLAST here. I think GWL is perfect for families with little kids bc you are confined in a resort and there are so many activities and different areas in the indoor & outdoor pools. We did have a bedbug situation the second time we went but Kyle, one of the managers comped 2 out of 3 night stays and gave us another 3 night stay (which we used this last time) for free and he was super nice and accommodating. Mostly everyone (except water park ride attendants) are very friendly and energetic. read more

Nice place to bring the kids. Rooms are decent. They send out specials and you book a room at $89 and then all the fees and taxes ended up making it almost double. When you get there after all these years they decided that they would put a $15 day parking fee and some locations it's even higher. I think it's nice if you can afford it. Great Wolf Lodge is so much fun! I plan to take my family here again in the future. My wife and two kids came here for a short vacation in the beginning of March. This was our first time, so we were not sure what to expect. However, we had a blast. We had the standard size room, with two queen beds, a balcony, and a living room area with what looked like a pull-out couch. It was enough for our family of four, however it is hard for little kids to sleep when the lights are on and the adults still want to stay awake. I may get one of the bigger rooms, with either a master bedroom or one of the themed rooms. The water park is amazing! There are many things to do and something for every age. There was a little kids area that kids can wade around, which also had three water slides that were appropriate for toddlers and little kids. There was a wave pool, lazy river, jungle gym with two big water slides, a basketball area, boogie board area, hot tubs, two water slides that you ride with tubes, one water slide that you ride as a group in a raft, and one water slide that you ride in a tube into a funnel. All fun! My kids loved it all. I loved it as well. I didn't eat or buy any food or drinks from Great Wolf Lodge, so I cannot comment on that. However, I'm glad that I was able to bring my own food for breakfast and lunch, then we went out to local restaurants for dinner. There is a lot of good food around Williamsburg, so I'm glad we did that instead of eating in. I highly recommend this place. It is a fun, family friendly place. read more

It's been 15 years since my last visit to Great Wolf Lodge. It was pretty much the same experience. I made our reservations through Groupon. Mrs. Willow at the front desk, while checking in, made sure to tell us that Groupon does not enter in the correct information. They do honor the reservation so no worries in that. We were lucky enough to get our room around 11:30am instead of having to wait til 4pm for check in time. Our room was clean and had a great view off our balcony. The water park was awesome inside and out. We were bummed the hot tub was closed. The arcade was opened 24 hrs and our little one had an amazing time playing arcade games late at night. We had a wonderful meal for dinner and breakfast at their buffet. Everyone was super helpful and friendly. We actually had a tornado warning the night of our stay and it actually tore off some of the roofing. They were very good at communicating this to everyone through the text messaging system they use. Checkout was easy. We were very impressed with Great Wolf Lodge. We can't wait to go back in the future! read more

We are not having a good time here. The light slide not working, so they took away the surfboard-looking things, so that there are less things to go down the slide on. Now everyone has to stand in line for a tube and watch selfish people just use them over and over again and hope someone has the decency to share and THEN stand in line again for the ride. Even walking, the floors are such that you can hear every footstep. Imagine the time we had trying to fall asleep when kids run up and down the hallways. The rooms themselves need upkeep.    The majority of the disappointment of being here for my daughter's birthday is the terrible children here.  The ones that run up and down hallways, screaming each other's name as they shove past other people.  They shove in the Crooked Creek.  They shove in line for the slides. They shove in the Family Hot Tub which they overrun without their parents.  They are completely oblivious that there are other families trying to enjoy themselves and their caregivers are execrable beings, who come here to end their parental duties. I was thinking how I would pay extra if the lifeguards would had the ability to tell children off when they are being rude and misbehave.  But then I thought, "Why do I have to pay for other people to parent these kids when I can just find somewhere else to go?"    Nobody is willing to deal with these kids, be it employees or their own parents. Kids gave me lip when I merely pointed out the sign in the family hot tub that said they weren't supposed to be there without their parents. My kids and I just wanted a quiet and warm bit of time, but these kids were just treating it like another swimming pool. The way this place is going, they're just getting more and more misbehaved families that they have to deal with while the rest of us that ensure our kids have a good time without bothering other people just find somewhere else to go.  We came here for a weekend to celebrate my daughter's birthday, but she is not having a great time having to listen to all the yelling and being shoved all the time.  Nobody in our family wants to come back here.  We're going to teach her how to make her own MagiQuest-like thing at home and we'll search for a better resort. read more

Not impressed for the price we paid. We paid $450 after tax and fees for one night, with military discount, and no food or extras, just the room for 6 people. Our sheets were nasty. Blood, pee stains, and hair on them. Called and made them change the sheets. Kids did enjoy the water park. Our oldest who is 13, I didn't enjoy as much as the younger ones though. I imagined more things to do there for the price and quality of the room. You can tell the remodel they did, was fast and mostly painted on top of old stuff. Not quality work by any means. read more

Thunder storms changed our plans to visit Colonial Williamsburg for the day with a 2 & 5 year old. So we figured a day at an indoor water park would wear them out, and we could still have a fun day. A one-day pass at Great Wolf Lodge is NOT cheap-at $70 each this was definitely a splurge for us. But hey- we were on vacation with the grandkids making memories. You have to make your reservation online or over the phone, as they limit the number of day passes now post covid. But the process was easy- once we arrived we just showed our confirmation email at the desk from our phone, and we were given wristbands immediately-no waiting! When you get inside the water park you appreciate the limited number of guests. Table and chairs are available for your family to sit at the whole time you are there, towels and life jackets are given to you for free, and lockers are available to rent for your valuables. At no time did we feel crowded, or have to wait too long for a slide area. The restrooms are clean. The changing area for the women had curtains and separate spaces for your family, but my husband said the men's had no privacy. There are even a few "family" restrooms that have their own toilet, sinks, benches, and showers so a family can change in private. Our little ones LOVED the smaller play areas, and ran from one pool to another all day. Since we had a few adults in the group, we were able to switch off watching the kids while the bigger ones tried the larger slides, which were so much fun, and the lazy river was enjoyed by the whole family. All of the pools were clean, with plenty of lifeguards stationed everywhere. There was even a hot tub for all ages, with a separate "adults only" hot tub that gave us a few quiet moments of rest. The snack bar in the water park was very reasonable, and fairly fast. We shared meals (they were big) and were able to get chicken strips/fries/soda for $11.99, and a turkey sandwich/fries/soda for $13.99. There was even a pizza counter, a mini mart , and a Dunkin Donuts right outside the main door that had plenty of selections. The storms rolled over the building, but the only thing stopped were the large slides that had portions outside, and that was only for about an hour. What can I say. I say I give this place 3.5 stars from a adults perspective. From a child's perspective most most definitely 5.! Great wolf lodge is a kiddie paradise. They have made it truly a safe haven for our little ones to roam around freely and literally make you seem like the best parent in the entire planet for bringing your child here. The way the children's eyes light up as they see all captivating colorful decor and activities is truly priceless. To see the parents eyes grow wide and and light up as they see how much money they will be spending for all this joy is quite priceless too. Great Wolf Lodge is an indoor water park that is located in Williamsburg, VA approx 15 minutes form Water Country USA and Busch Gardens Overnight rooms include wrist bands for the amount of guests that the room fits. Although this Huge Local Cabin style Hotel seems pretty vanilla on the outside, Great Wolf Lodge has gone above and beyond to make this Lodge a kiddie wonderland for all ages. They even have great perks for the parents for being such good sports. There are themed rooms with cool bunk beds all the way to plush rooms with a fire place and concierge service. There is an phenomenal indoor water park with water slides, wave surfing, indoor wave pool, and even a lazy river. On the summer months the outdoor pool and tiki bar are available as well which is a plus. There are indoor eateries such as Dublin Donuts, a large restaurant that serves a la cartel and buffers daily and even an indoor pizza parlor. In addition to the indoor water park there is a fitness room, a indoor arcade, indoor bowling alley and scheduled nightly entertainment One of the hi-lights of the evening is that after 8 pm the children can roam the corridors of the hotel with special magical wands that will make certain things come to life and be interactive. Don't worry the hotel has a bedtime for the kiddos and that will allow for some peaceful sleep. Some additional features are the indoor gift shop, a build a bear and even a little girl spa and boutique. Can anyone say so cute? Yes but it can add up if you have multiple children.! The facility itself is kept immaculate. Including the restrooms, rooms and other common area The staff is so helpful and they actually act like the love working there. Although pricy Great Wolf Lodge is a great place to come with a family of multiple ages. There is fun for everyone. S/N. MAPQUEST. Oh wow can anyone say money Pitt! It's an interactive game that children go on thru the hotel. Each of the 4 floors have something to discover. You purchase a special wand that will activate the hidden treasures on your journey thru out the hotel. A wand can easily cost you $50. To activate it to go on your journey is an additional $20. As you go on your journey to gain points. The more you do it. The more points you earn. Which will allow you to earn points towards a prize. I am so glad we decided to vacation here this year. Had a great experience overall. Check in We were able to check in at 12 although our room wasn't ready we were able to go to the water park. The check in rep wasn't very friendly or helpful. Which was kind of disappointing being that we were all pretty excited to be there. She seemed to rush the check in process and also didn't really explain the wristband situations, I had to ask to what each of them were for. They give you wolf ears for everyone in you party. Water park At first glance the water park looks pretty small. But it ended up being a great thing since we have little ones. There was so much to do. The bathrooms in there were surprisingly kept really clean. Not like your normal water park bathroom. Room We got the double room suite which was bigger than I expected. It was pretty much a small apartment. So the $600 a night ended up being way more worth it. The room was extremely clean. The only negative thing was it was so far from the water park. Extras The arcade, bowling alley and games all around the hotel were pretty cool. The only thing is I wish we had gotten the paw passes because eventually it starts to add up and could've saved a couple dollars doing it that way. read more

We had a great time staying at Great Wolf Lodge. We stayed 3 nights and thought that was a good amount of time although the kids wanted to stay longer. We didn't know what to expect but my husband got an email a day before asking to check in online for a faster check-in process and it sure was. Once we arrived, around 4 p.m., we got checked in pretty quickly and our room was ready for us. We got the family suite and it was a great size with 2 queen beds and an extra area with a couch and table eat at. There was a microwave, mini-fridge, and a coffee/hot water maker. The room was clean, sheets were clean and the bed was pretty comfortable. We didn't really eat the food at the resort since we brought our own food for breakfast and lunch. For dinner, we wanted to go out to eat. I heard that the food at the resort was pretty standard and we wanted to eat other types of food around the area. The waterpark was a good size. There was a kid pool area were there were small slides for them to go on and also some water toys. There was also a wave pool and a lazy river, which the kids really enjoyed. There were also a good amount of water sides and an area with a boogie board that seemed fun. There was also another area with an obstacle course and water basketball. It seemed like there was something for all ages. We really enjoyed our time and I think we will come back again! read more

ROACHES!!! We moved to several different rooms and they were all the same. Roaches everywhere! Got up in the middle of the night and thankfully used my flashlight on my phone to see. The staff didn't seem surprised when I told them. Housekeeping told me that they notified management about seeing them and they were told if they could catch one then they would call for a fumigation, otherwise there was no proof. You pay so much money to stay here, the least they can do it spray for bugs! Our sink leaked onto the floor below which made a mess. The tub drain was clogged and hardly drained. Overall the place was mildly clean and in great need of repairs and fumigating. Also, the AC units smell like someone urinated in them, whenever they turn on. So gross. We won't be staying here again. Most of the staff was wonderful and friendly (hence the 2 stars) and the magi quest game had been updated since we came last, which was nice. However not all the magi quest things worked and the magic shop didn't seem to care when we told them. The water park hot tubs need resurfacing, they are disintegrated at the bottom and a mess. We all got scraped up on the unevenness. I definitely would not recommend staying here!!! read more

Worst experience ever!! My wife and kids checked in at 6pm. Went to the room. Changed into bathing suits and went straight to the pool. Lovely! They had a blast. At 8pm they returned to the room. Ordered pizza and snacks. Cool! At 9pm my wife turned the sheets back on both beds to find sweat and dirt and BLOOD on the sheets! WTF?! Ok. Call the front desk. Ask for the linens to be changed. Front desk clerk Nigeria was rude and mean and extremely unprofessional. This woman needs to be fired immediately!! Edit: The manager Jared, was AMAZING!! He got my wife into a new room. Personally escorted her to the room to check for quality. And then refunded her entire stay for the trouble. Manager Jared...you sir are a gentleman and a professional. We booked a three night stay with our kids and decided to throw in the meal tickets for ease of budgeting. At $35 dollars per person a day, it covers the breakfast and dinner buffets, plus $10 per person in your party for lunch. Unfortunately, we weren't anticipating that the food would be quite so terrible. Honestly, I'm not sure they've ever heard of seasoning or butter--and this is coming as a super white, white woman. I saw a few reviews that mentioned how delicious the food is, and I can't help but feel terrible for the poor saps for their melted taste buds. It was so bad we ended up not even using our meal vouchers the last two days because we couldn't bring ourselves to eat any more of the food. Thank goodness the alcoholic drinks were delicious because that's what kept us going to the end. The activities were fun, although my kids were bored with the water park after a few hours and it had the faintest smell of poopy diaper. Arcade was great, and I highly recommend going down the awkward hallway where the ten-pin bowling alley and game room is. It's poorly labeled and it looks like it's only meant for employees, but it's the most fun in the place. I saw a few posts complaining about the showers being cold, and I did not have this issue. In fact, our shower ventured on the opposite spectrum where most of the water temperature options seemed to be in the "melt your skin off" territory. Water pressure was really nice. The rooms were cleaned with cleaning vinegar, which is nice on the one hand with so many kids and being careful about using chemicals, but I do wish I'd seen more employees actively cleaning common spaces during activities. Especially while we still have an active pandemic going on, it felt like sanitation measures weren't quite as serious as I would've liked. I'm not sure we'll come back, or at least not for longer than maybe a single night, but the kids enjoyed their time at the lodge. read more

We stayed at GWL for a weekend with our toddler. Here is a rundown of our experience. Check-in/out: Checking in was quick and easy, but not enough was explained. We were first-time visitors, so we would've liked to be told how everything is run, where to find food, what activities are available, etc. We had to come back to the front desk to ask about everything, and the staff didn't seem excited to answer our questions. The map we were given was outdated so a lot of attractions listed on it were no longer active. Checking out was simple- just leave your room on time, and continue using the park for the rest of the day. Rooms: the rooms have been recently renovated with new beds, carpeting, and decor. We had a king bed room and it had plenty of space. The only downside was that we were in a room at the furthest end of the hotel which, while we had quiet nights, also meant we had a long walk every time we needed to go from our room to the main areas of GWL. With a toddler, these walks were really tiresome. The water park: the indoor area seems small but it has a LOT of play options packed into it. We were pleasantly surprised that so much of the park was accessible to toddlers. A few tips: the park will lend you towels for free, but they are not very big or absorbent; We found ourselves wishing we'd brought our own. The life jackets the park offers are very limited, so bring your own for your children. Children aren't allowed to ride on laps for the slides, so the park is best suited for children old enough to ride alone. Food: the breakfast and dinner buffets has plenty of options for all sorts of palates. The lunch options, however... were limited. There are 3 lunch options at GWL (two indoor and one outdoor), and they are pizza, burgers, hot dogs, and fries. If you're here for more than a day, you'll get bored of it fast (plus it's pricey!). There are no healthy food options except for a packaged salad at the pizza joint. Thankfully there are lots of restaurants nearby to drive to so you can eat out or bring your food back to GWL. Activities: we did not purchase any of the activity passes. When we stayed there were not any scheduled character appearances so we had to ask around to find out when they could happen. Staff told us they were spread thin with running summer activities so there was less time for character appearances. We did manage to get a photo with one of the characters but they were not present at breakfast or other times as they website advertises. read more

Overall, it was a good place to visit with the family for a couple of days. It was our first time, so it was also our first experience that would set the expectations for other potential visits. Of course, all food and attractions are priced higher as it is more about convenience than quality. The hotel could use a few more signs (or updated signs) that more easily show the location of things or where/how to redeem items purchased through a Wolf Pass. And there were a few occasions some employees could care less about giving good customer service and would only offer the minimum amount of help necessary to keep the line moving. If we do GWL again, we will visit the new location in MD as we only chose this location to see some of the historic areas of VA on our trip. I think a little more team leading and training could then really make this a great place to visit. read more
