We had been to this restaurant several times before and decided to stop in at 8:15 for a late dinner. The lady behind the counter was asking for our order before we could even get to the counter. After I told her what I wanted some guy walks out from the kitchen yelling "we're closed!" I asked what time they close and he says 8:30. There were about 5 other customers sitting in the dining room. He just continued to yell "we're closed" I'll never go back. Lunch special was a Gyro Sandwich and choice of salad. I must say that was the biggest gyro I've ever had. And it was hot and delicious!

I've driven right past Greek Cafe for years and only this month had the good sense to try the food. My wife and I went there for lunch...and returned for another lunch five days later. 'Twas for the wonderful food and not the unassuming storefront. On our first visit, I tried their Philly Steak Wrap. That dish is several pieces of warm pita bread wrapped around a MegaPortion of piping hot gyro meat. Their special seasoning must have been what gave the meat that spicy taste. Thence came the baklava. It ranked up there with the best baklava that I've ever tried. Food fit for a king and priced for a peasant. On our next visit, my choice was their Gyro Platter- gyro meat over rice with tabuleh salad, feta cheese and creamy taziki sauce, Neither of us had a baklava this time. The plateful of food on my Gyro Platter seemed as big as an Indian burial mound. My gyro meat was steaming hot, moist and tender. Its juice trickled down into the rice and kept it from drying out. That Gyro Platter was one scrumptious dish. My wife had the Mixed Grill. Boy did she seem to be enjoying it. For those of you who are keeping score, the bill for both our delicious lunches was slightly over eighteen dollars!! For my money, the best place to get Greek food in the Brentwood- Cool Springs area is this, the Greek Cafe on Mallory Lane. The food's great, but this is not a restaurant with an exhaustive Greek menu . No, its a gyro shop that serves first rate food. They get four stars and my repeat business. read more

The food is pretty good and they're consistent. The only issue is the cucumber ranch tastes watered down at times.

I really wanted to like this place, the staff are friendly but the food wasn't very good. Tzatziki appetizer tasted sour. The lamb and chicken on the salads were dry. Canned black olives no kalamatas. read more

Great quick lunch and prices! I popped in on a shopping trip. The staff was very kind and made helpful suggestions. Each plate comes with rice, salad and pita, all of which are generous portions. You will not leave hungry! I tried the chicken kebabs with rice & Caesar salad topped with feta and their DELICIOUS vinaigrette. The pita was soft and perfectly toasted. The chicken was well marinated and moist. They gave me SO much rice! Everything was fresh and delicious. My boyfriend had the gyro plate which was similar to mine with gyro meat instead. This was a very generous portion. This is a great place to stop in for a quick, semi healthy meal. I want to try a full sized salad next time! Check them out! Lunch for two was only $18. read more

It can be hard to find good inexpensive food in Franklin that's not fast food. This little Greek place is on point. We go here for lunch and they have a good gyro and good platters. The restaurant overall is a little rough but it is clean, just showing its age. The meats, naan, and veggies are fresh and delicious. The price is good and the staff are friendly. They have some beer on the menu but bottle only it looks like. read more

Agree with the last review... I went there for lunch and wanted a gyro sandwich and he gave me a shawerma instead and he didn't put the cucumber sauce on top of the meat he put it on the chz on the bottom. He was also really short with me and I know he spoke English he just said what he had to say to me. Before I left I said thank you and have a good day and he just stared at me. He was also saying one word and trying to communicate with me with head bobs and "drink".. Telling me to go get my drink. He told me I get a discount if I pay with cash. There was a handwritten sign that says if you get a gyro combo todays special it is 10-11$ I payed 15$. Usually the places I go to get gyros they give u a side of cucumber sauce as well but I didn't get one and barely on the gyro itself. When I tried the food something definitely tasted expired I know what feta cheese tastes like and that was not it I think the American shredded chz was definitely expired it was an awful sour taste that just ruined my meal. Having moved from their original location to a spot basically across the street, the food is just as good, and the seating area is now even better. The gyros are very good, better than average, and the fallofll is some of the best I have ever had. They serve lunch combo plates, that are filling and good tasting. This is where I go to get my Gyro fix. I have tried Kalamatas and I'm a fan of Greek Cafe. I prefer my gyros in form of sloppy slices of meat, not the little chunks/strips. My understanding is that gyros are on the equivalent of hot dogs and I prefer mine somewhat down and dirty. The service is friendly and quick. They have good sweet tea. I get the lunch plate with rice and extra cucumber sauce. They own the other location at 8113 Moores Ln, Brentwood in front of Publix. The Brentwood location is not as busy as lunch, while this location can become quite crowded. read more

A two-star rating from me basically just means "meh." It's honestly not a horrible place to get lunch if you work in the area, it's quite cheap. There are aren't many places for vegetarians to grab a quick bite in the area other than Whole Foods, so I usually head here for my hummus fix. However, the hummus is almost always way, way too salty. So salty it almost doesn't even taste like hummus. I think it's safe to say I'll be making the trip to Kalamata's even though it's a tiny bit farther. read more

Yes. It's best described as a Greek Subway. That's not a bad thing. Generous portions. However, we were underwhelmed with the quality of vegetables. Tomatoes were not ripe or fresh. 3.5 stars. When you have the misfortune of working in chain restaurant hell (aka Cool Springs), you have limited local restaurants to choose from. I was told about this place from my nail tech, who used to work at the nail salon located in the sama plaza. I usally get it to-go, but have dined on the patio once. My take: The good: - I usually get the chicken pita sandwich combo for lunch, with the rice as the side, and it's pretty good. Nothing outstanding, but a reliable lunch choice. - I've also had the hummus & pita bread, which is definitely one of their best offerings. The pita is always so fresh, and the hummus is fantastic. The disappointing: - I absolutely love Greek food (seriously, if I could put feta cheese on everything and have hummus & pita bread with every meal, I totally would), and as such, it frustrates me to no end when Greek places do not offer Kalamata olives. That is a quintessential Greek/Mediterranean staple, and this place does not offer them, only basic black olives. - I feel like the veggies they put on the chicken pita sandwich (lettuce, tomatoes, and onions) could be cooked longer. They are normally a bit too raw for my liking. Overall, a solid option if you want to grab something quick that isn't from a chain. read more

I really like this place, it's a great lunch spot! It's set up like a Chipotle - you order and then the assembly line allows you to customize your meal. For picky people like me, this is an ideal scenario. I had the chicken platter. Tons of food, great pita bread and rice. Next time I'm gonna try to sub extra salad for rice though which I assume is possible, only because it's a lot of rice/carbs in a meal. Husband had the gyro and thought it was also very good. MAJOR DISGUSTING!!! I found a large, black, AND wilted, wet, and DEAD FLY (as in INSECT) in my salad. I guess I should have read the review on roaches before eating here again. This was after I had finished eating 99% of my salad. It was on the backside of one of the lettuce leaves. Told the staff. They didn't care. No offer of anything. Nada... I've eaten here many times in the past 5 years and seem to forget the: rude staff/men who work here the high price for what you get AND the fact that if you ask for a few more sliced black olives OR "heaven forbid" a bit more feta (like 4 more tiny pieces) you get the evil eye It's a total waste of money and NOT a good value. Go to the one in Brentwood instead. They're nicer, tastier, and less expensive too. read more

Stumbled across this place for lunch today. Went in and was amazed by the incredible smell. I got a tabbouleh and a gyros. Cost about 10 bucks which isn't bad at all for lunch. The salad and the gyros were fresh and incredible. What a treasure this places. I wish I lived down here so I could enjoy it on a weekly basis. Please consider putting a café up in Cincinnati for me. Rude! I ordered a chicken plate, he asked if I wanted onion& peppers, I said "no onions please". He repeated back to me "ok, peppers only". Then as another guy filled my plate with sides they started yelling at each other and then he asked me "you ordered chicken?" I said yes and then he proceeded to shake his head and tell me "no you ordered gyro" I said "no I don't like gyro's so I wouldn't have ordered that" he rolled his eyes. This isn't my favorite Greek place, but there isn't too much choice for good Mediterranean in Franklin. It is Mediterranean and not really classic Greek food, so misnomers aside, it's not a bad place to grab some lunch. The prices are reasonable and the food is pretty good. The chicken kebab is pretty good and the cucumber sauce is great. they also have great thick pita bread. I'm not a huge fan of most Greek foods, but this is one of my favorite places. The food is great! My go to is the Gyro plate. The Gyro meat is seasoned perfectly and delicious. The rice is wonderful, and the pita bread is always fresh and tasty. The service is outstanding as well. Everyone is always very friendly and helpful. I compare all gyro places to the pyramids at the mall. This place comes a second best for me in area gyro battle. Good size gyros with fresh sides and tasty rice. I like ranch on my gyros and they have good ranch. The hummus is so so and not the best. I would come again. They also have fresh brewed sweet tea. read more
