Wednesday afternoon, I met a friend at the new Greek Caffeina Café in Sandwich, located in Merchant's Square. It was surprisingly busy for 3PM on a Wednesday. The place is immaculate and has the feel of a rustic kafeneio (coffee house). The walls are painted a soothing periwinkle blue (my favorite color!). You place your order at the counter where in front of you is a wide array of Greek pastries and cookies in a display case. In addition, they also have other sweets and treats like coffee cake, muffins, donuts, turnovers, ice cream and non-alcoholic beverages. We ordered several Greek pastries (kadaifi, tiropites, spanakopita, kourabiedes and baklava (of course!) and a few non-Greek, just to see how they were. We also ordered two frappes (Greek frappuccinos). We were asked if we wanted our pastries warmed - yes, please! An honest opinion directly from a Greek? They were hands down, the best Greek pastries I've ever had! Yes, all of them! Even the coffee was amazing! Plus the staff is friendly. If you want to experience exceptional, authentic Greek baked goods, I highly recommend the Greek Caffeina Cafe of Sandwich. !Wednesda

    Pistachio latte

It was pretty good but it was $30 (without tip) for a latte, an iced tea and two breakfast sandwiches. Always happy to support local business but breakfast to go shouldn't be $30

Yelp led me to the Snowy Owl, which a cute cafe in a converted auto service station. It's got some comfortable seating inside and out, and immediately gives off welcoming vibes. While we were looking for something to go, I got the feeling some folks sit here for hours. Something about the unique space had me craving a unique drink - not my usual black coffee. Their house made cherry cola espresso piqued my curiosity. It tasted just like it sounds - a double shot of slightly bitter espresso mixed with not-too-sweet carbonated cola. I would have like more cherry syrup sweetness, but it was an interesting choice that I was glad to experience. The friendly service, variety of drinks, and chill vibes are good reasons to return.

Snowy Owl Cafe & Roastery was on the way and its cute vibe had me from the exterior - Was this a service garage in a past life?! We were greeted by several friendly staff and the atmosphere made me want to sit down for an hour and pretend I was young and hip. I ordered a half-caff Americano with a splash of oat milk. As a Starbucks drinker, it was not as strong as a Starbucks Americano but had a nice flavor and was bolder than many others. There were food options on the menu but we'd just had lunch, so didn't get to sample them. I would definitely return!

I cannot get over how good their German breakfast sandwich was! I can honestly I never would have thought of doing breakfast on a pretzel, and I'm sad this was a first because it was THAT good! Also, I must say picking a breakfast item was super hard because the entire menu is just top notch. Their coffees are so delicious too! It was hard to pick hot or iced, so I may have gotten one of each. Oops! I do not regret this choice at all! I also had to take some of their freshly baked items home for the remainder of the week. I cannot wait to get my hands on them! This place was packed, but it ran effective! The young man who greeted me was wonderful, the cashier was sweet, the barista was excellent and the owner was the most friendly, and helpful gentleman! I can see why it was packed---this cafe is an all around win! It's adorable inside the dining room, staff is great, menu is diverse and super unique, and everything was amazing! I will be back soon!

We stopped in on a beautiful Friday in July on our way to another part of the Cape. (Thank you…read moreyelpers for your reviews.) We were pleasantly surprised that there were plenty of open tables inside and outside. What we didn't know is that there is pressure to place your order at the counter because there was about a 40 minute wait for food because the kitchen was switching over and finishing up after breakfast. The staff were friendly but there was a busy vibe and I wouldn't say they were particularly helpful - mostly because of no dedicated spot for lining up to order and the woman behind the counter kept instructing people to move the line back so that the food could get carried through. It felt like the person in charge of directing traffic (and there was a young man in charge of this!) should have been enforcing the spot, the printed menus should be moved to this spot instead of on a post in the middle of the "food carrying zone," and that person should also point patrons in the direction of the many specials boards. As they dubbed themselves, "Sandwich's sandwichery," I ordered the Mother Hen sandwich- I was drawn to the avocado and bacon. It was served on a ciabatta style roll and was very tasty. I ordered my sandwich "light on the herb mayo" as I'm not always a mayo gal. It could have used more. I was also tempted by the GIANT pastries they had on display but didn't want to go overboard on day one of vacation. As we sat waiting for our food, we saw lots of people coming in for take out as well as ordering to eat-in. Families, large groups, couples, and solo diners all seemed accommodated. I noted it would probably be a fun place to grab sandwiches to go and eat at the beach or some other outdoor place. During this time I also noticed several other specials that looked really intriguing but in my panic to get an order in, I missed the signs entirely. If you are in, or passing through Sandwich, MA, definitely check out Cafe Chew!

My biggest gripe is the fact that the selection is uninspired and repetitive. I've gone on several occasions and it's always the same desserts in the case: cheesecake (some with various toppings), 2-3 varieties of tarts, one specific type of brownie, 2-3 cakes in a cup, etc. It's all been delicious, don't get me wrong, but I'm not going to return if it's always the same selection. To be fair, I also haven't tried their breakfast/savory items...but those seem repetitive too because I always check them out. Plus, they were out of brigadeiro the last time I went, and it was early in the day! Service has always been friendly and I couldn't care less about any language barrier - food unites all of us and I'll point at what I want and pantomime if I have to, so that has nothing to do with my 3 stars. Atmosphere also nice. My gripe is solely based on the lack of variety. TLDR: Delicious Bakery is worth a stop because their creations are delicious, but I'm not sure it's the kind of place worth repeat stops.

First, they are an everything artisan food store: sandwiches to be made or pre-made to-go, a fine wine collection (caveat emptor - they tend to store the finer wines vertically - a major wine faux paus), fine artisan pasta, organic bakery, and a very nice British-style candy offering. Secondly, in the wine room off to the side they have a table and chairs where you can sit and sip your coffee. No bathroom. Only one table. With four chairs. My only complaint, well, not really a complaint per se, an observation. In my empirical experience, the lady who runs the cash register seemingly watches you, as though you are going to shoplift. It's a little uncomfortable, as we are Harvard educated yuppies, dressed right out of the Preppy Handbook, and we don't present ourselves in a sketchy or shifty manner. It's ok, ma'am, that little inconvenience is worth your offerings a couple of times a year. It's Jarvesville, not Twin Peaks.
