    Dry out meat.

The meat was so dried out/almost crunchy. It was all super saturated in salt... even that Tzatziki. The rice was one big solid clump of starch. Not again!

Great local spot for some Greek food. Spotlight goes to the Spicy Feta Dip - absolutely incredible and comes with warm pita on the side. Definitely will be ordering again!

Incredibly fresh, quality Greek food. Got the Greektown yeero ($12) with yeero meat, lettuce, tomato, tzatziki, and fries inside. Crisp, not greasy at all, well-presented, and sizable. Great value too.

Don't think. Just order. Go check out the prices, ordering for two places tends to not be *that* worth it. It 100% is. My partner is Greek, and we ate ourselves into a coma and still had leftovers, which YES, we ate. My only kitchen note is, more Greek yogurt less sour cream? (It could have just been the yogurt) but it's not remotely worth taking a star off because it was still AMAZING! The food was all full of flavor. We could make our own gyro's or just eat it however so it was cool to have that option. The salad, and we all know Greek salad can get squishy bc of the tomatoes, not the case, was totally on point. Back to the tzaziki, you get full things of it! You don't need to order it separate, and I need to stress if you usually don't eat at Greek spots that's not normal, you only usually get a lil mini thing of it. If you're looking for great Greek food, get on this place. Excited to order again and try the hummus.

Friendly service and a good salad. This is a causal lunch spot. The arugula salad w/falafel is a nice size serving, but a little over priced. I guess the cost of everything is rising. Only issue with adding falafa balls to the salad, is they are naturally dry and they didn't give any tahini sauce. So that was disappointing, I guess you need to ask for some.

Unfortunately, my chicken was raw. Hope I don't get sick - very disappointing. The salad itself was fine but as soon as I bit into the chicken I knew something was wrong

We usually do either delivery or pickup takeout. Service is always prompt and food is ready within expected time range. We never had a problem ordering food from Greektown. The restaurant also has indoor and outdoor seating if you wish to dine onsite. We usually order the grilled mix for 2 which includes chicken and beef gyro, pork and chicken souvlaki, fries, tzatziki sauce and a greek salad. Portions are perfect! And the meat is of good quality and well cooked. Being Greek, I find this place very authentic and definitely the most authentic gyro/souvlaki place in the JC neighborhood.

Can't believe I haven't tried this place yet! Stopped by for dinner with some friends - service was relatively prompt and the staff were attentive, coming around often and making sure everything was ok. The portions are VERY generous, we ordered the gyros and it came with a really refreshing salad, heaping pile of meat, and a delicious side sauce. We also had the baklava which was also much bigger than I expected and a little too sweet for my taste. I would say this is a more casual spot for families or friends. Great little spot in Hoboken would recommend!

    Stuffed Crispy Chicken

Greektown is the only classic Greek restaurant in all of Jersey City and Hoboken (at least that I know of?). I finally got to stop in the other day and am happy to report that it's pretty damn tasty. The spinach and feta stuffed crispy chicken is phenomenal. The dish is a little pricy ($18) but can easily feed two people. It comes with two large golden fried chicken cutlets with a thick layer of spinach and feta in between and is topped with yet even more feta. The dish also comes with a large side of fries. Pro tip - order an extra side of tzatziki for dipping action. I also tried the classic gyro which was just okay, a little underwhelming if I'm being honest. The meat just didn't feel super quality. The last time I had a gyro I think I was in Greece, so I honestly shouldn't be comparing. All of the pita was fresh and soft baked. The pita wrapped around the gyro and the pita served with hummus were fantastic, as was the hummus which was smooth and creamy. The menu features all of the classic Greek restaurant staples and runs the gamut from salads to dips to gyros and kabobs. All topped with feta and tzatziki, of course. Byob with a liquor store across the street. Grab a bottle of your favorite and be sure to try if you are a Greek food fan.

Ordered some food for takeout on a Wednesday night with friends. We all ordered yeero's. The order was ready at the time that was estimated and the food was packaged well, in individual plastic containers. We all enjoyed the yeeros, which came with tomato and red onion. The tzatziki sauce was sort of like a thick spread rather than than a thin sauce like I am used to. But it tasted the same as other spots. The tzatziki sauce came on the pita but I wish there was more of it, or even wish that some extra was included on the side. I will ask for extra sauce on side next time. I also wish that some greens were included in the yeero (like cucumber) Overall, it was an enjoyable dinner. Wish there was more sauce included but I will ask for extra next time!

I went to Greektown to try out a lunch special to go around 1:15pm on a week day. There was one party dining in, other than that it was empty. Service wasn't super attentive, but since I wasn't dining in that doesn't carry much weight. I got the Greektown Chicken Lunch, photo included, that also came with pita. It was definitely enough food and good value for $13. The food was tasty enough, nothing to write home about. The tomato chunks were a bit too big for my liking. Overall, good value for a lunch special! I'd return for a cheap bite in the future but maybe not for a dine-in meal.

This place is awesome. I can't believe in all the years I have lived in Hoboken I have never tried this place. I recently stopped in to grab a quick lunch. I shared the Greek fries with my boyfriend and we each ordered the Garden Street Pita. The fries were great. They were not too overpowered by the seasoning. The Pita was delish! The ingredients were so fresh and the grilled chicken on the inside was so tender and juicy. I also ordered a side of tzatziki sauce which by the way is amazing!! We are definitely going back and I can't wait to try more items on the menu. The restaurant employees are very careful and wiped everything down. I felt like it was clean and a safe place to dine.

I ordered the lamb platter. I believe it's called with baba ghanoush hummus and half rice half salad. I wasn't a huge fan of the rice. The dips were really great, especially with the pita chips. The salad was a little too plain for me but overall it was a yummy meal. I think I would go with chicken next time maybe the chicken sandwich or the vegetarian plate since I did really enjoy the dips and the falafel the most. The pistachios baklava was pretty good too. I used to work in the West Village so Mamoun's original location saw me visit at least once a week…read morefor their delicious shwarma and falafel. It has been quite some time since I've had Mamoun's so while I was wandering around Hoboken I was delighted to come across a location on Washington! Yes, I know it's been here for quite some time, but I'm kind of new to hanging out in Hoboken so this was a wonderful surprise for me. The original Mamoun's is a hole in the wall that can barely fit 4-5 people inside standing. In heavy contrast, this location is on a corner with plenty of room. The interior leans heavily towards wood and dark colors, giving it a slightly classic and industrial look at the same time. The wall along the right is lined with old photos of the West Village (including the legendary Cafe Wha-?). It is a wonderful reminder of where this chain originated and brought back memories of my younger days working in the Village. In heavy contrast to the original Mamoun's, you go up to an ordering kiosk and you pay with your card. The menu is well designed and I was delighted to see that you could mix drinks if you'd like and you can order different sizes of sauces (at an added cost of course). I wanted the basics so I ordered a shwarma, falafel and unsweetened iced tea. The food was prepared very quickly. At the pickup area there are napkins and cutlery. They apparently package everything as if it was to go, so no trays or anything here. They handed me my order and I sat down to eat. I carefully unwrapped the shwarma and man...it was like going back in time. There was a pita stuffed completely with a salad and shwarma meat (I went with lamb for that classic flavor). One difference from the original location is the lack of a hot pepper put on top of the shwarma. That used to be a nice touch they did back in the day, but to be honest, I have no idea if the Village location does this anymore. Folks, the shwarma was absolutely *delicious* and beautifully cooked. I recommend using the foil to keep the structural integrity of the sandwich together (though by the bottom it will just start falling apart). I also purchased a side order of falafel and they were perfect. Crispy on the outside, light chew on the inside and fresh! It's not hard to find falafel, but finding *good* falafel is tough so I was super happy with this side. Mamoun's is wonderful. It is a culinary blast from the past in a modern setting. I highly recommend it!
