Was seated and served very quickly. They have lunch specials which come with an appetizer a main dish and a beverage for less than $20 which is a fairly good deal. I went with eggplant salad and lamb adana. The bread they put on the table was fresh, warm, crisp on outside and soft and chewy on the inside and was a great accompaniment to the eggplant. I could have used a little more seasoning but it was fine. The lamb adana was very good, but I was disappointed with the tomato and pepper that came on the side. read more

Lunch specials seem less frequent these days. Maybe I'm biased as I'm not a lunch type (though I certainly compensate at dinner). Rumi offers an impressive combo. I enjoyed the lamb gyro. There are far more beverage and appetizer options than the industry standard. The excellent spicy vegetable spread is one of those. At many places you'd be paying $8 extra for that. Entree portions are smaller in the lunch special but the whole order was quite hefty. Delivery was super-quick. read more

I have had Rumi a few times as delivery and it has always been good. I recently dined in and really enjoyed the meal, especially the mezz platter. I was surprised that it was as good as the mezz platter at my favorite middle eastern restaurant. My table also had the Lahmacun which was a hit, and I had the vegetable pide which I didn't care for. This place has a lovely aesthetic and the lunch special I ordered - chicken gyro - is flavorful. However, the menu doesn't indicate that it's a gyro in a bowl with cut up bread in a separate bag. When I read the menu the chicken gyro that's not a lunch special indicates that it comes with a yogurt sauce. I did not receive any yogurt sauce, which would have made this a better meal despite it not being a wrap. Its really on the dry side. I'm disappointed but nonetheless, the food and bread were good. read more

Came here for a Team Lunch and we all had a great time. Lunch Specials are the one to opt for since we get most of the Menu Options to choose from, and price is fair. We made a point of selecting different Appetizers and Entrées with each of our Lunch Specials, so I got to try variety of items, and they all tasted pretty good. Atmosphere was homey and the decor was kind of cute and pleasant. Service was pretty quick, considering the place was packed and our Table itself had 12 people. I work near this place and I'm in my Mediterranean food typa phase lol so when I found out about this place from my friend I was like, "let me give them a try". This place ended up being my go to Mediterranean spot when I'm in the area. I always get the chicken shish kebab and let me tell you...the chicken was cooked PERFECTLY. It was moist and not dry and it was so flavorful! It was cooked fresh (as it always should!). I love the portioning. I don't eat much rice when I'm out to eat so I ask them to alter the order which they always do. The ambiance is good! It felt traditional and fit the Turkish vibe. Delicious & wonderful service! I've ordered takeout and have dined in. Each time, everyone there was so nice. The food is delicious and fresh. If you're not into saucy foods, I recommend asking for the sauce on the side as something like the chicken iskender was quite saucy (I love sauce though, but the people I was with preferred less saucy pieces of chicken). They had a veg kebab which was totally not what I had imagined. So, the rating. Would recommend mixing falafels or veg kebabs to their dishes and not just grilled vegetables. It was dry without no sauces. So had to request for a white sauce on the side. Not sure if this is how you eat this dish, all dry and solid. My entree was the lamb iskender kebab and it was tasty and a very large portion. The lamb chops however, weren't that great. They also didn't have any Turkish tea and the service was painfully slow. I've been eating at Rumi's for so long so I just wanted to update my review. Update: It's still as good as ever! Recently, I found out that you can order their Turkish Bread whole. It's really good for making sandwiches! I also recently ordered their lamb tandir and it was so succulent and had so much flavor! I am still eating here and still discovering new things to eat! I ordered the Lahmacun and the lunch special with the chicken kebab. The chicken was really dry and there were only a few pieces. The Lahmacun didn't really have much flavor to it and I had been craving it so I was disappointed. The vegetable dip isn't bad but the hummus has a strange flavor. There was a buuuunch of extra bread provided which was nice. I didn't hate anything I tried, it just wasn't spectacular in any way. read more

I found this place completely randomly, and it had good reviews so one day when ai was craving some good seekh kebab I decided to try it. It did not disappoint! They give you fresh bread (free) and it was crunchy and fresh! Then we had Barbunya Pilaki for appetizers which is pinto beans simmered in tomato sauce with cubed potatoes, carrots & onions. It came cold. That's probably how you are supposed to eat(I don't know ) but I didn't like it. It was just ok but would definitely not order again. For mains I had the lamb Adana Kebab which was 10/10 and would definitely order it again! My husband had the chicken Adana Kebab which was also delicious! Another neighborhood local spot and I'm all about supporting locally owned eatery. Walked by plenty of times that I noted their own website to order directly for pick up order since 2 blocks away. Falafel was different, have middle eastern background so I'm particular with falafel so not a big fan, but the eggplant salad which is tomato based sauce so flavorful and the yogurt cucumber salad Amazing so will order combo salad platter again to try out the other offerings ..lamb and rice dish tasty as well.. will be ordering again to try out the rest of menu.. read more

Updating my review from five years ago. This place unfortunately has gone down for me personally. Had dinner there one night and asked for water and they only sell bottled water and no tap. Thought that was strange and they charge $2.00 a bottle. Another time I called and put an order in. The guy over the phone was very rude and yelled. He said something that I couldn't quite understand so I asked him nicely to repeat it. He did but I still didn't unfortunately understand him so he then yelled and proceeded to be rude to me over the phone. I was apologetic the entire time but he didn't have any patience. Debating b/w 2 or 3 stars. Experience was more like 2.5 stars. Coming to why? Went there for lunch and everything was super slow. Taking order took time, appetizers came in 15 minutes, one of the 2 drinks came, other came after 10 minutes. Lost track of time when entree came, we were there for weekday lunch for over 1.5 hrs!! We went downstairs to kiosk to get our check and pay up to save time. Lunch menu seems like a steal but it's now, quantity is very less and entree is some grilled meat or vegis with rice, but some sauce is missing to bring it all together. Also the yogurt drink in the menu was not available which server realized 15 minutes after ordering. Kebab was okay, not good or bad. Complimentary bread was surely excellent and freshly made. Will give one more try over dinner just for freshly made kebabs. read more

Came here on a date. Called ahead of time & reserved a couch . When I get there they have given away both the couches. But the waiter tells me I can get the couch when it becomes available in 20 mins so I stay & wait while me & my date sit awkwardly across from each other The couch becomes available & I go to the waiter & ask to be seated there.
