    Mediterranean Salad

Ordered takeout from here, super great portion size.. ordered a mediterranean salad with chicken souvlaki and was so surprised by the size. Also generous with the feta cheese, and the baked/fried pitas? on top were crunchy and delicious. It was definitely the size of two salad portions (for me). I would order from here again.

So we went here on a date, and were surprised it isn't sit down based on the prices on the menu. The interior is adorable. We went up to the counter and ordered. I got the halloumi wrap and my date got the falafel pita. The service was okay, nothing special or out of the ordinary. The food did come out pretty quickly and they did serve it to us at our table. The halloumi wrap was decent but I have some notes. There was a ton of cucumber and not sliced the same size and this was jarring for a texture person. I love halloumi but this was a bit too salty. The spread was delicious and the falafel was good and moist. I wouldn't come back for this. I think if the price point was a bit better, I'd stop here for a bite, but this current experience didn't sell me.

Ela Greek Kitchen is located in the heart of Jersey City's Historic Downtown area and is a stone's throw away from the Grove Street PATH station. It is a fantastic spot for authentic and flavorful Greek cuisine at a great value. Having enjoyed their takeout several times, I've been impressed by the balanced, bold flavors. The Chicken Pita Wrap and Falafel Pita Wrap are standout favorites, and I can't wait to return and explore more of their delicious menu!

    Mixed grill

Downgraded from 5 stars to three. The food is blander than it used to be. I really enjoyed the mixed grill when they first opened. But it's no longer what I consider a good value. Nothing seems like a good value compared to other Mediterranean food in the area. The falafel is decent. The fries are excellent. The chicken and lamb souvlaki are decent, just not anything special. There's at least 2 places that are walking distance that have way more flavorful food and what I consider a better value for presentation and volume. It's a shame because this place started so strong. They've also messed up several of my takeaway orders. So I started checking everything before leaving. Which is a shame, because they package it so nicely. Only for me to have to rummage some of the packaging to check to see if they decided to give me everything. Some of the staff are epically excellent and have gone above and beyond. Though some have acted very uncaring with their mistakes, like it was a normal and frequent thing. It's a bit of a dice roll. I do think this place is worth a try. Everything is super clean and tidy.

Everything at this restaurant was delicious. The spanakopita was crispy and full of spinach and feta cheese on the inside. It tasted very fresh. We also ordered some spicy Tzatziki, which came with a good amount of pita bread. The lamb souvlaki platter came with a good amount of food, and the meat was very tender. The chicken souvlaki platter was also very good, and the chicken was very flavorful. The platters came with a lot of fries, pita bread, and a side salad. They also came with a small dip. Overall, this restaurant is a great addition to downtown Jersey City. They do have seating on the inside, which was spacious and had plenty of seats. I saw people ordering food to go, but also people stayed to eat. I will definitely be back to eat at this restaurant.

Very kind cashier. I honestly felt his service was at the level of an owner. He was the perfect amount of charismatic & flirty to make me order without checking the price. Lol. My building sponsored them last yr and I wanted to try it again so stopped by. While it's super cute, well-kept, and great service I wasn't impressed with the food. A bit dry, not enough sauce to moisten all the meat & fries they put in the wrap. I don't plan to return but go, enjoy.

Beautiful outside decor. Generous portion, you can easily share a platter! I dined in the restaurant. I waited for about 20 minutes for my dish which I didn't mind. However my food was cold. Cold fries, cold chicken. The salad that came with the dish was delicious. Fresh vegetables, delicious fresh tasting salad dressing. However I cannot get over the cold food. The chicken and spicy feta dressing was also salty.

I was starting to think that Newark Ave storefront was cursed. Or it could be that the horrendously overpriced salad + smoothie place that occupied it previously wasn't cut out for Jersey City. Ela is a welcome addition, offering up quick service Greek cuisine. Dips, appetizers, souvlaki, gyros, and platters make up the fare. I stopped by on a Thursday and got an order of moussaka to go. While not the most photogenic dish, it was rich and tasty, though a little light on spices. The small horiatiki (Greek salad) on the side was bright and refreshing

It's giving everything you need after a long day! I've gone to ela Greek kitchen now twice and both times I have came in hungry and left so satisfied. The food is absolutely delicious. I got a chicken pita wrap and the flavors are plentiful. Everything is sauced up but not over saucy and it just tastes so amazing. I could eat one of their gyros every single day but I won't because I don't wanna be broke. And speaking of price it's a pretty good bang for your buck. The wrap is about 11$ and it's a hefty size. It's incredibly filling and I typically eat half for lunch and the rest for dinner unless I'm starving then its gotta be the whole wrap. Also not for nothin multiple people saw me eating this and saw how happy I looked and stopped and asked me about it and then walked in. I'm not a paid actor it's just THAT yummy. I usually order it to go but then I sit outside at some of their tables. You have a nice view of people just walking by and being in the outdoors. The inside is cute as well but it gives more chipotle vibes in terms of like sitting. It's not meant to be like going out on a fancy date sit down meal. It's Greek street food vibes. So you can set urself and it's cute inside. Idk if anyone cares but nice clean bathrooms as well. The staff is always super friendly and nice and it's just overall an amazing vibe. I will be continuing to get my gyros from here forever and always

The portions were good and the food was tasty! It's also located on a cute street that's not too busy but enough for people-watching

Besides Cava this is honestly my other top favorite bowl place! But what makes Ela's even better is that it's not a chain & feels super authentic with a consistency in flavor & generous portions! I kinda don't wana say I wish this was a chain, only to have hopes they'll have a second location nearer to me in Essex County! Rice is so fluffy & is nicely lightly seasoned... the chicken yeero as non-traditional as it is as lamb is my favorite here & crave it, ESPECIALLY with their white sauce which I highly recommend you ask for extra & the salad also comes with its own dressing. This time, I really laaaaaave the generous sprinkle of red onions which I loveeee to have a bite of in each & every bite of my chicken-- they just blend so0o exceptionally well! The service is quick & easy! Tonight it was a busy night, diners filling inside but no line. It's a cute restaurant with lights, booths & tables. I honestly loveee Ela's!

Place was decent, the staff was pretty nice and patient with us. We stopped by after attending a festival and my friend was pretty hungry. I ordered Spanakopita for me and told my friend to order me something good as dessert. Spanakopita was okay, not the best I had but it was okay. The walnut cake we had was incredibly sweet, I believe it was drenched in syrup as if it was baklava. The place is super cute, very vibrant and they have so much potential, especially because is perfectly located in a super busy area in jersey city. I will definitely be back to give them another try. My dog loved them.

Upon entering Tros my partner waited to order something and the person working (the manager who he later learned was named Andres-?) was on the phone at the counter. The manager then proceeds to "shoo" him away by waving his hand. Who does that? Is he a child? Is this what a decent establishment does to potential customers? Perhaps he was busy (there was no one else in the restaurant but a police officer, who we later learned was lieutenant Rodriguez, waiting for his food). So my partner said "I'm going to use the restroom" and the manager rudely responds "don't you read the sign? Restrooms are for customers only." This exchange escalated to a place it simply didn't need to go if only the "manager" exhibited any customer service. He was uncouth and disgusting. And I believe his behavior was dismissive and disrespectful because of my partner's appearance. Will we ever return? Absolutely not. No one needs what appears to be extremely mediocre Greek food by what we can see in the pictures, especially when this is the way a manager behaves. Gross attitude, gross management.

The restaurant was virtually empty inside and had plenty of tables outside, but I was still told that I needed to wait until my companion arrived before I could be seated. In the meantime, I parked myself at the bar and gazed out the massive windows at the stunning Manhattan skyline views. When my friend arrived, we asked for a table on their outdoor deck, which was located just to the side of the restaurant, so that it would not block the views for those in the indoor dining room. We were seated at one of their comfortable tables, but there was some strange water dripping down onto my legs, so we moved to another one. I was not drinking that night, so while my friend ordered a glass of wine, I opted for the Panoma mocktail made of Seedlip Grove 42 non-alcoholic spirit, peach, agave, lime, and club soda. It was sweet, bubbly, and refreshing. We received a basket of toasted, dry bread with their proprietary, aromatic olive oil. We also munched on two shared appetizers. First, we opted for a bowl of their Calamari to be grilled and served with a lemon emulsion. The squid rings were tender, and the citrus marinade was fantastic! It was my favorite bite of the evening. The Traditional Greek Salad was also tasty, though. It included chunks of vine-ripened tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, olives, red peppers, barrel-aged feta cheese, oregano, aged balsamic, and extra virgin olive oil. A few of the tomatoes were a bit mushy, but the majority of the salad was very fresh. For our entrees, we both ordered the Lavraki, a mild and flaky sea bass, which was apparently grilled whole over charcoal. Though the filet was supposed to be de-boned, I definitely found a half-dozen or so in my butterflied piece of fish. It was topped with some sort of sauce that was similar to hollandaise, as well as a bunch of capers. It was a very enjoyable plate of seafood. However, since it did not come with any side dishes, we decided to share the Foraged Mushrooms and the Brussel Sprouts. The fungi were varied, offering a blend of aromatics and layers of earthy flavors. The sprouts were a bit salty and overcooked, but not terrible. Once our meal had concluded and we had turned down dessert, we were offered water refills twice. Both times we said that we would love more water, and both times it never arrived. So, that was a bit odd. Otherwise, the service was fine, but not specifically memorable, aside from the manager wishing us a nice evening and thanking us for coming. While the food was above average, the real draws of Molos were the amazing views available from a majority of their tables, as well as the sophisticated elegance of their indoor dining room.
