Feels like a large open homey space.we ate on the second floor. The food was adequate but the prices were exorbitant. If you are going to pay these prices go to Ishnala ( the food is better as is the ambiance)

    Upstairs is the best space!

Love Green Acre for a weeknight or weekend fun! Staff are on their game all the time, the drinks are good, food portions are huge. We had a reservation on a Friday that we made a hour and a half before arriving. Have a drink at the bar before eating and request upstairs dining, the ambience is better up there!

We tried Green Acres on a Thursday night, and waited 15 minutes in the bar for a table. It's a large bar area, but only had one bartender on staff, and he seemed pretty overwhelmed. Once we were seated, we waited 15 minutes for a server, another 15 for our drinks, where one person in our party didn't get theirs, and another received the wrong one. When we got our drinks, we said we were ready to order, but waited even longer for her to come back. I don't know if they were short staffed, but we were one of only 3 tables total up there. The bread basket was amazing, soups and food were good. But overall, I think it was very over priced for what you got. Their prices are the same as Ishnala's, and that place is an entire experience. This was a few hour event, but only because we waited so long in between each part.

Service and ambiance are great. Food quality is poor and tonight my medium well filet was burnt beyond recognition. So disappointed

Anyway - it's all about the prime rib (unless it's all about the fish fry!), which is enormous, btw.

We came here on a Friday for fish fry, and arrived shortly after they opened. Good thing, because…read morethey filled up very quickly and we hadn't had a reservation. It was the first weekend they had their patio open to dining, so we naturally chose a spot outside -- in the shade, it was a bit much in the unabated sun. I thought we'd have a river view, but it was hidden behind some trees and a few cabins. Oh well. Still a nice outdoor spot away from the city. We were warned that there was a party of like 20 people coming in shortly to the patio, but we did not notice and interruption in our service as the gang flowed in. I will never love the ability to smoke cigarettes on an outdoor patio, so maybe I should have sat inside, but still worth being outside despite the occasional irritation. To each their own. Our server was great, and was very patient with our slow proces of ordering drinks, appetizers, and the meal in relatively spaced out time periods. The Old Fashioneds were great, without too much of the muddle and soda and more emphasis on the booze -- still a Wisconsin Old Fashioned, though! I enjoyed the cheese curds and was very intrigued by their potato and cheddar crusted cod. I usually get the fried cod during a Friday Fish Fry, but this sounded somehow elevated. Alas, I didn't find it to provide any extra or new flavors, and there was nothing crispy about it. The breading was more like a mooshy exterior that didn't do a ton for the fish. The fish was cooked nicely, but the very high price was very much not warranted. I can get crispier and lower priced cod closer to home, so just can't justify the trip for the fish fry. But then there was dessert. I'm always looking to recreate a favorite (late) childhood dessert that involved brandy infused ice cream. I always ask at a Friday Fish Fry if they can make a Brandy Alexander that's thick enough you need a spoon. They claimed this to be the case, and they did not disappoint. This was a delicious Brandy Alexander and definitely worth a trip back. So, while I wasn't crazy about my overpriced, non-crispy fish fry, I still enjoyed myself and enjoyed my food... I'm glad we came and tried it out, and if you're looking for a nice supper club spot, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Onion rings seemed like they were frozen, fried and served. They were the same as any other restaurant. The deviled eggs were 75% mustard. The clam chowder would rank in my top 10 ever with tons of flavor, clams and potatoes. I wish I could eat an entire loaf of that bread. The bluegill and cod were better than the lake perch. The lake perch was fine but not amazing. The hashbrowns ordered with onions and cheese were not flavorful and the cheese was packaged American cheese. I would think a supper club would have real cheese.

We arrived about 15 minutes early for our 7:45pm reservation on a Saturday and sat at the bar for a drink. I opted for a morning glow and an espresso martini. Both were decent, I would probably explore another option next time. Seating took a little longer than we thought, seated around 8pm. I'll be honest, at first our sever seemed like a jerk, but quickly turned it around. We started with the cheesecurds, we ate every single one of them. The salads that come with dinner were the perfect size and the bread was a nice touch. We went with a couple of different steaks and they were some of the best cuts we have ever had. As avid 801 Chop in Minneapolis this place blew them out of the water. Second best thing were the mashed potatoes- holy crap, so good! The hash browns were okay but I would have been sad if that was my only option. We were stuffed but the flourless chocolate cake was calling our names. I'm SO glad we pushed through and ordered it, it was a 12/10! Order this, even if you're full and thank me later! Check this place out, you wont be sorry!

I ordered the 6 oz filet (medium) which was charred on the outside and melted in my mouth. My husband had the boneless ribeye - very little fat and one of his top 5 all time best steaks. I had the spicy margarita which was so good. They had a lot of dessert options but we didn't order any. The place was dimly lit so it was a very romantic date night. The reason for my 4/5 stars is that a margarita in a small bar glass should not be $15. Our total bill for 2 lobster bisques, 1 6 oz filet, 1 16 oz ribeye, a beer, and a margarita was $172. I feel like we ordered should not have been that expensive, but I guess it because of the dells.

My whole family had another wonderful dinner experience. It was packed, so it was a bit louder, but we didn't mind. We were distracted by all the food. The cheese curds were lightly breaded and fried perfectly. They even had a bit of a squeak. The haystacks were enjoyed even by my family who didn't like onions. The prize app were the pork bellies. Tender, meaty, and covered with a sweet tangy bourbon glaze. I could've eaten those as an entree! My filet was a perfect med-rare. Tender with just the right amount of char. The ribeye was prepared with the same tender perfection as well. My son, who lives in Chicago, said his steak rivaled those of the steakhouses in Windy City. He really enjoyed his filet. The scallops were seared to perfection, and they were nestled in a bed of soft, warm, creamy risotto. And I mean CREAMY. It's the way they should be made. HPSH doesn't skimp either on the number of scallops; we had to box up the rest. We didn't have room for dessert, but we did box some up for later.....and they tasted great.
