Feels like a large open homey space.we ate on the second floor. The food was adequate but the prices were exorbitant. If you are going to pay these prices go to Ishnala ( the food is better as is the ambiance)

    Upstairs is the best space!

Love Green Acre for a weeknight or weekend fun! Staff are on their game all the time, the drinks are good, food portions are huge. We had a reservation on a Friday that we made a hour and a half before arriving. Have a drink at the bar before eating and request upstairs dining, the ambience is better up there!

We tried Green Acres on a Thursday night, and waited 15 minutes in the bar for a table. It's a large bar area, but only had one bartender on staff, and he seemed pretty overwhelmed. Once we were seated, we waited 15 minutes for a server, another 15 for our drinks, where one person in our party didn't get theirs, and another received the wrong one. When we got our drinks, we said we were ready to order, but waited even longer for her to come back. I don't know if they were short staffed, but we were one of only 3 tables total up there. The bread basket was amazing, soups and food were good. But overall, I think it was very over priced for what you got. Their prices are the same as Ishnala's, and that place is an entire experience. This was a few hour event, but only because we waited so long in between each part.

Service and ambiance are great. Food quality is poor and tonight my medium well filet was burnt beyond recognition. So disappointed

Great food, very good service. One of my favorite restaurants. Love their fried shrimp and prime rib.

The Saturday special: baked tilapia in a bed of risotto and zucchini was delightful. The service was excellent. The only downside was the A/C. The dining room felt extremely cold at 4pm. I had to go to the car to get my jacket. We were freezing. I wish Fish Tales had sangria in its cocktail menu.

We came here on a Friday for fish fry, and arrived shortly after they opened. Good thing, because…read morethey filled up very quickly and we hadn't had a reservation. It was the first weekend they had their patio open to dining, so we naturally chose a spot outside -- in the shade, it was a bit much in the unabated sun. I thought we'd have a river view, but it was hidden behind some trees and a few cabins. Oh well. Still a nice outdoor spot away from the city. We were warned that there was a party of like 20 people coming in shortly to the patio, but we did not notice and interruption in our service as the gang flowed in. I will never love the ability to smoke cigarettes on an outdoor patio, so maybe I should have sat inside, but still worth being outside despite the occasional irritation. To each their own. Our server was great, and was very patient with our slow proces of ordering drinks, appetizers, and the meal in relatively spaced out time periods. The Old Fashioneds were great, without too much of the muddle and soda and more emphasis on the booze -- still a Wisconsin Old Fashioned, though! I enjoyed the cheese curds and was very intrigued by their potato and cheddar crusted cod. I usually get the fried cod during a Friday Fish Fry, but this sounded somehow elevated. Alas, I didn't find it to provide any extra or new flavors, and there was nothing crispy about it. The breading was more like a mooshy exterior that didn't do a ton for the fish. The fish was cooked nicely, but the very high price was very much not warranted. I can get crispier and lower priced cod closer to home, so just can't justify the trip for the fish fry. But then there was dessert. I'm always looking to recreate a favorite (late) childhood dessert that involved brandy infused ice cream. I always ask at a Friday Fish Fry if they can make a Brandy Alexander that's thick enough you need a spoon. They claimed this to be the case, and they did not disappoint. This was a delicious Brandy Alexander and definitely worth a trip back. So, while I wasn't crazy about my overpriced, non-crispy fish fry, I still enjoyed myself and enjoyed my food... I'm glad we came and tried it out, and if you're looking for a nice supper club spot, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

When we got to the Vintage Brewing we had hoped to sit outside but everyone else had the same idea. It would have been a 20-30 wait so we chose to sit inside at one of their high tops. The area was in the bar and roomy we could see everything that was going on around the bar but kind of in the way of the thorough way of the kitchen where food came out and where they get their drinks from the bartenders. Our server walked by often so we received great service. I ordered the Rueben, it was delicious I'm so happy the have found another so close to home. The corned beef was thick, with just the right amount of juiciness, sauerkraut, thousand Island dressing and the best marble rye bread toasted perfect perfectly. I ordered straight fries well seasoned. I also ordered their homemade root beer, I'm not a fan. It tasted more like black licorice than root beer. I'd definitely go back and order visit its sister establishment in Madison on East Washington Avenue.

It is located along the Wisconsin River a short drive outside of Madison. Vintage Brewing is right on the river, giving the patio a really pretty setting. The patio is large and has a great spot for bands with plenty of tables for the audience. We decided to order dinner while we were there. I am not a beer drinker so I ordered the Wisconsinite ( a blackberry brandy old-fashioned). It wasn't bad, but definitely more on the sweet side than I care for. We shared the fried cheese curds, which had a great flavor, though not the best I've had. I really enjoyed my blackened salmon salad. The salmon was delicious and the salad was fresh. My husband also enjoyed his pulled pork sandwich. They had some fun swag for sale, and I came home with a cute pink t-shirt. All in all, Vintage Brewing is a cool place with beautiful location a great vibe. If you have a chance, catch The Sparks Band (a fun cover band).

My whole family had another wonderful dinner experience. It was packed, so it was a bit louder, but we didn't mind. We were distracted by all the food. The cheese curds were lightly breaded and fried perfectly. They even had a bit of a squeak. The haystacks were enjoyed even by my family who didn't like onions. The prize app were the pork bellies. Tender, meaty, and covered with a sweet tangy bourbon glaze. I could've eaten those as an entree! My filet was a perfect med-rare. Tender with just the right amount of char. The ribeye was prepared with the same tender perfection as well. My son, who lives in Chicago, said his steak rivaled those of the steakhouses in Windy City. He really enjoyed his filet. The scallops were seared to perfection, and they were nestled in a bed of soft, warm, creamy risotto. And I mean CREAMY. It's the way they should be made. HPSH doesn't skimp either on the number of scallops; we had to box up the rest. We didn't have room for dessert, but we did box some up for later.....and they tasted great. Can't wait til our next visit to High Point!
