    Ahi tuna bowl
    Michael B.

I don't love fast-casual much these days, but SoFresh gets it right. Food is always fresh and cooked right - here you see any ahi tuna poke bowl with the hoisin sauce. Lots of flavor in this bowl, nice and crunchy vegetables (even the seaweed was fresh). People here are always nice too. Great lunch spot downtown that you can't go wrong with.

This was surprisingly so good!! I can be a bit skeptical about healthy fast food places because sometimes i think the food can be bland and dry. SoFresh was perfect!! I loved my greek bowl and will definitely be ordering that many times in the future. They also had delicious smoothies, and the option to build your own bowl was easy and very versatile! The caesar wrap definitely could've been better, but that might have been because i didn't get any chicken in it. I do think it needed a bit extra dressing, but overall still good. Also, the person working the register was super nice to us, which was great. Overall, this place is convenient, healthy and really tasty! Def recommend.

I stopped by SoFresh in downtown and this was a full spread--and every bite delivered. I ordered the Caesar wrap, the Mediterranean salad, and the warm teriyaki bowl with salmon, and everything tasted fresh, balanced, and filling without feeling heavy. The flavors were clean, vibrant, and well-seasoned--exactly what you want when you're choosing to eat better without sacrificing taste. For drinks, I tried the Sunrise smoothie with added blueberries, plus their berry lemonade, and both were refreshing and perfectly blended. I also grabbed chips and matcha to round out the meal, which made this feel like a complete lunch (or shareable spread). What I really love about SoFresh is that it's a healthy, vegetarian-friendly restaurant that still offers protein options like salmon, making it easy for everyone--whether you're plant-based, pescatarian, or just trying to eat cleaner--to find something satisfying. If you're downtown and want food that's fresh, flavorful, and intentional, SoFresh is definitely worth the stop.

I was visiting Pittsburgh for a half marathon and wanted something a bit lighter the night before the race. After searching Yelp for a good salad, SoFresh stood out. I downloaded their app and was able to quickly place my order and as a bonus, I received $5 off of my first order. The salads are already very reasonably priced, but it was a steal with the first order offer! Their signature bowls looked great, but I decided to build a custom salad. I opted for romaine, red quinoa, tomatoes, corn, onions and tzatziki. I do wish they allowed for a couple additional add-ins without a charge. The salad was ready within the 20 minute window they gave me, so I was able to quickly grab and dash back to my hotel. The red quinoa with lemon was the star of the bowl. It was rich and vibrant, while adding some much needed (healthy) carbs to the dish. The rest of the ingredients were fresh and all melded perfectly. The tzatziki was okay, I honestly wish there was more of a kick of flavor to it. This would be a perfect spot for a quick lunch or dinner on the go, although they do have indoor seating.

Had a great experience here! Food was ready quickly and the ordering process was really easy. I got the ahi tuna bowl and it was really fresh!

Loved visiting SoFresh today after my sauna treatment. The Strawberry Apple salad was refreshing & delicious. I loved the various choices & options. I also have to go back & try the smoothies and the other natural drinks that they offer. I'm glad to have some vegetarian & vegan options within Market Sq. So I guess I can deem this a new favorite spot although it has been there for sometime; it was a new discovery for me. Check it out the next time your in the square.

My first time at so fresh was a great experience. All the food was wonderful. The staff was very helpful with assisting my order. The environment in the store was very nice. I'd go back any day! Go check it out

I tried SoFresh for the first time and overall, it was solid! The ingredients in the Strawberry Fuji Salad with chicken were tasty and fresh and balanced well. For a quick lunch pickup or delivery, this was a good choice that kept me full throughout the day.

This was my first visit. Customers place orders via a kiosk. It's fairly easy and self explanatory. When your order is complete you are called to the pick up window to retrieve. Everything was super fresh. I opted to add grilled shrimp to my salad. I appreciated the shrimp being cooked well but not overdone.

This is a delayed review, but I had a great brunch at SoFresh. I got a brown rice bowl with sweet potatoes, eggs, and guacamole. It was so flavorful, delicious, satisfying, and healthy! I would highly recommend! They have a lot of options to choose from, and can make substitutions and custom bowls!

This will be my second time here. I got the green smoothie it was so good! Also I did a different salad with kale and it was very good! The place is always clean and the staff is helpful and friendly! I downloaded the app and you get $5 off it didn't work for me so I just put my order thru anyways. The girl talked to the Manager and he ended up giving me a credit of $5 which was so nice of him.

Most bowls are rice, greens, and/or beans based with various vegetables for toppings. Heartier than a salad but healthier than Chipotle. I've gotten lunch there a few times and have always been satisfied. My favorite bowl is El Jefe, which comes with rice, kale, black beans, corn, red onion, avocado, and a protein topping (I like the miso tofu but you can also get chicken). The bowl also comes with cilantro/lime sauce, which I do not get because it's very salty. That's my one complaint about Roots - despite their healthy ingredients, their bowls can get quite saucy and salty if you go with the default options. This particular location is well-staffed, so service is usually quick, but it can get a rush of students around 12pm.

Roots is a little bit more expensive than other similar options but I usually don't mind as they often give me a very full bowl, but that wasn't the case with the Gary bowl. It was less full than the bowls I usually get along with being very heavy on the rice and not too much chicken or even the kale. Aside from that it was still yummy but I think I'll be going back to my regular order next time.

I wouldn't really call this a supper club to be honest but the place definitely carries a house music bar vibe and the back bar area and seating is very dimly lit, perfect for cozying up and enjoying a drink late night. The ladies' room was so dark, I mistook it for a storage area because I could only make out a white ladder in the corner that was being used as cute shelving. The place is seat yourself. Our waiter was not super friendly and didn't offer to give us napkins or anything when our wobbly table caused our drinks to splash all over the place. The cook served our chicken with a big smile and happy interaction and we really loved his personality. The bartender also stopped by to bus our table and he was very pleasant as well. We enjoyed the perfectly fried small plate cauliflower with the plum sauce and the fried cheese/garlic wonton bites with the sriracha mayo spicy dipping sauce. The fried chicken breast on the large plate was slightly overcooked with a maple gochuchang sauce that was very bland. We were so thankful that the large plate fried chicken came with a side salad to offer some respite from the heaviness of the fried dishes. It would have been great to have some side acidic or fresh vegetable options like Kimchi or something. Maybe we tried the wrong dishes and there are other not fried things that are delicious? The dirty martini cocktail was just so-so, not really much flavor at all, but the mojito was very good and refreshing. It's probably a good late-night place for a bite and drink.

With the bar being backed up, this meant we received some apparently pre-made food even before our drinks arrived. Again, it felt chaotic. LOVED our dinner at this place…read more We came here for dinner while visiting Pittsburgh. The first thing that struck me was the interior decor. Very industrial and moody with an open kitchen/preparation area that adds some intrigue. I do like to see the happenings of what's going on as someone with zero attention span. Service was excellent. George was fantastic. He kept a close eye on us without being overbearing. He anticipated what we might need so we didn't spend one second waiting to order anything. The menu is not endless or overwhelming which, presumably, allows them to focus on the items that are listed. I have decision panic so it was kinda nice to have less things to choose from. They asked if there were any allergies or dietary restrictions so I mentioned my vegetarianism. George went through the menu and pointed out the vegetarian options including what seems like it is vegetarian but isn't. They had TWO vegetarian entree options and fortunately the non-mushroom one was something I probably would have ordered anyway: pesto with walnuts, arugula, and a very generous amount of grated cheese. To start, I ordered the Brussels sprouts whichc I was warned had fish sauce. This was fine but nothing that blew me away. GF, on the other hand, loved this. GF ordered the wedge which was brought to our attention as vegetarian with the bacon on the side, which was her request. We ended up sharing both, a large part of that was because hers came out first and I couldn't wait but I'm so glad because the wege was FANTASTIC. The dressing? holy fuck pure ecastasy. The wedge was more like a filet shape which was much easier to eat. Who decided on the wedge shape anyway? The lettuce was so fresh and crisp and went wonderfully with that orgasmic dressing and breadcrumbs. Back to my pasta. Also delectable. Noodles were al dente. The sauce was creamy and packed that pesto umami flavor. The walnuts were a really nice contrast in texture. Everything about it absolutely fucking slapped. GF ordered the mushroom entree which came served on a bed of barley which, don't mind if I do, had a few forkfuls to "sample" for "my review". Again, so fucking good. Because it was my birthday, George provided a dessert (yuzu maybe?) that was served inside a meringue-esque igloo, creamy perfect balance of sweet and tart custard with some berry business underneath. Wonderful. I almost forgot their spectacular cocktails! Holy shit, literally they have a CORN CHIP cocktail that I could not pass up. It comes with two massive cornchips on top of a flavored foam. When you bring the glass up to sip, the cornchips are right in front of your nose and their aroma sets the stage for the drink which was STRONG. It wasn't as corn chip forward as I expected but I understand that flavor is probaly hard to create. For my second drink, I ordered the blue one which was refreshing, light, and really good. GF ordered a spritz which was gorgeous "it was good". For second round, I picked out some uranium thing that was very cucumbery, GF says, "it was good". I just read it outloud to her. "it's true!" Fantastic meal at a great place.

Huh? Whatever. Onto the food and reasoning for myself wandering the shockingly perky streets of Pittsburgh. In no way do I assert that the people of Pittsburgh are percilicious. In fact the opposite. I simply mean I'm shocked by how many restaurants and bars there are down the two lanes of street in the entire city. I shan't disclose too much of myself or my doings but I had some business to attend to. Notice I did not say to take care of. Because I wasn't there for that. In fact, I shouldn't even have been there. I was, in a sense, brought to entertain. There is no shame to it, I will call it as it is. A corporate dummy sent to use his striking swagger and suave to keep others content as they do dealings of mediocrity. Fine by me. You know what else was fine by me? These tacos. Got a variety of them. All were actually really good. Taco shells were actually texturable and the creations were not overwhelming or insistent - yet they were different enough and worked well in complimentary and contrasting ways. What was more fantastic is I sat in silence the entire time as the four attending with me - of whom I'd not call colleagues or acquaintances - more so, people I share in work with; As they gossiped until their tongues fell out of their mouth. Luckily, I was not tasked with the "project" of picking them up off the ground. Instead I hit back a light Corona in order to fit in to the atmosphere and fit in to my role as a collaborator.
