One of my favorite Mexican restaurants! I love the New Mexico style of the food here and how everything has green chiles in it! The owner is usually around and he so friendly and so is all of the staff. It's got a bit of a fast casual vibe to it so you can sit down and eat or take your food to go if you'd like. I love their egg rolls, tacos, fries, chips and queso, you really can't go wrong with anything from their menu! I still need to try their Philly cheesesteak and their green chile burger. Had been meaning to go to Green Chile House in North Salt Lake for ages. Finally made it the other day. Very welcoming and attentive service. Lots of great-sounding things on the menu. Settled on the green chile Philly and a hot tamale with green sauce. The green sauce smotherered tamale was outstanding. The extra sauce also made a great accompaniment to the French fries that came with the Philly. The Philly was stuffed to the gills and quite good. Could probably feed two, but I persevered. While waiting for entrees, you can have tortilla chips with a couple of tasty dipping sauces. And at the end of the meal, they offered to provide some free sopapillas. Didn't see that coming. I drove clear from North Ogden to try this place. I saw the pictures of the chile verde and I thought that's gotta be some bomb verde!!! We ordered the burger and the Philly. I was a little disappointed tbh. I ordered a SIDE of the chile verde so I could split it between the both of us to put some on my Philly and some on his burger. We left and I noticed there was not a side cup thing of the verde so I went all the way back and told her I was missing my side of chile verde and was told they put it on my Philly. That's not what I asked for. I couldn't even eat my Philly as a sandwich, I couldn't get it out of the box because it was beyond soggy!! so I ate all the stuff on the inside with a fork and was unable to share the verde with my boyfriend because it was all mixed in with my Philly stuff. I've been there numerous times and it has always been on point, today however got smothered burrito Christmas style , the green sauce was bland which has never happened, street corn banging, beans banging ,had to throw some hot sauce on the burrito to help with the flavor, not gonna stop me from going back however, I like the New Mexico style green sauce and the different flavor it has compared to what is here locally. What an awesome find!! This place is hidden in a shopping center. I'm obsessed with green chiles, saw the reviews and thought why not!? So glad I did! Also had the street corn and my friend had the moz sticks and same sandwich. While we waited the brought out some chips and salsa. They were good. The moz sticks had green chile in them! There were 12 customers who had already placed orders when I arrived a few minutes after opening. Owner Kallie greeted me and talked through the best of/award winning menu items, from birria tacos to the green chile cheese burger. This was horrible. I got a pork taco and an enchilada and both were bad. The food had no flavor whatsoever. My group also tried the green chile queso. Pouring a can of green chiles into a cup of Rico's queso isn't getting it done. Food came out fast but overall 0 stars. Pack it up. read more

The Proprietors are amazing, every time we go in we get lucky enough to catch them and because I'm also from New Mexico we get a little special treat with some hot green chile that is not on the menu. Secrets out, this is the place to go if you're a 505 kid and are missing home style food. Authentic New Mexican Cuisine with a Northern New Mexico flare. Service is always wonderful they are friendly and always smiling. When you get there don't take it to go sit down and enjoy the ambiance this is a well-decorated trip back to the land of enchantment. You'll see some Blended homage to both Utah and New Mexico if you look carefully, and each table is named after a different city in New Mexico. The portions are not for the faint of heart, our first trip in we ordered two entrees and an appetizer and went home with three go boxes. Now we order one entree and still have stuff left over! I don't have anything negative to say about this place it hits all the points of the food I'm missing from home without me having to cook it, it even has the hospitality of home, all it's missing is the Abuela and Abuelita. We drove down from the Ogden area and found this place. I thought it was pretty good. my wife thought the chili relleno was just OK, nothing special. Disappointed, I eat here regularly. The food is so tasty, but today may change that. They no longer serve you. New system is you order at the counter, no issues. Then I left my 20% tip as usual. I had to get my own salsa from a bar, GROSS!!!! Other peoples hands, no where to cleanly put the salsa lids while you scoop your salsa. My dinner was left on the table on a tray, not even in front of me. No silverware with it, I had to go back to the salsa bar to get PLASTICWEAR which is not conducive to this type of food. What a gem! This place is a little spendy, BUT it is extremely good. Save your chipotle money and come here instead as it's worth it! Service is fantastic, food is great and green chili sauce is to die for. The only thing I will say is that it is spicy. Even the beans and rice are spicy. If that's your thing you will love it! If you haven't lived in New Mexico the food will be somewhat different from other Mexican Restaurants. I have found that rating Mexican restaurants is highly subjective. I'm so heartbroken to leave this review. To be clear, the food is five stars all the time! My lower rating is simply due to the recent changes to paper plates, plastic utensils, and shifting to fast casual service. We have taken many many people here and I was always recommending it to others, but this new experience has changed that. The food makes the paper plates soggy and weak to the point they bend when you pick them up off the tray. The plastic utensils are small and weak and not conducive to this type of food. This all breaks my heart because this area in Davis county has lacked great Mexican food forever, and now the absolute best option isn't an experience in alignment with their prices and isn't an experience I want to take people to. Also, it's worth noting that due to these changes, we've resorted a few times to ordering delivery, but the full menu isn't on any of the delivery carrier apps! You can't order birria tacos or birria in the burrito on door dash, the kids bean burrito isn't available on uber eats! I'd recommend the same items being available across all delivery platforms, and even better if it's the entire menu! read more
