Just like one of the other recent reviewers, I don't know where to begin when providing compliments for Lawrence and Green Construction Builders. From initial texts/calls before even starting work, continuing through the job as work progressed, and all the way to the end of the job, Lawrence was extremely responsive. When evaluating our backyard for the deck I wanted built, Lawrence caught nearly every detail that would ensure the deck would be built properly and of the highest standards. There was additional work they had to do that was unforeseen during his initial evaluation, but Lawrence had his team take care of it without hesitation or too much additional cost over the agreed estimate. He provided valuable suggestions leveraging his expertise to help me make decisions on materials, design, workarounds, etc. In the end, we have a fantastic new backyard deck that should last us decades, in addition to other upgrades that we brainstormed on the spot that make the new deck even more enjoyable. I could not recommend Lawrence and Green Construction more.

This is our second time using Lawrence, Kong & team to remodel our home as we had a great experience and were very satisfied with our first project. We especially loved the tile work in the bathrooms. The team was professional and helpful. They always cleaned up before they left for the day. Lawrence was also very responsive, gave us a lot of good advices and helped us pick a beautiful quartz sink with double faucets for our master bathroom as our space was a bit tight for a double-sink. Lawrence's team also did an amazing work on our flooring and helped us replace the old non-functional fireplace with an electrical one. His team totally transformed our townhouse to something more luxurious and the price for the whole project was very reasonable. Highly recommended!! We will definitely use this team again in the future. Thank you Lawrence and team!

We are beyond satisfied with how Lawrence and his Team transformed our backyard. From a hot jungle mess to a backyard masterpiece, we literally have the best looking yard in the entire neighborhood (Thanks to Lawrence). Lawrence was referred to us by a friend and he was very communicative from day one. His team was very efficient and completed the transformation faster than I expected. You need to see the before and after photos. We trusted Lawrence with his expertise and really allowed him to guide us, I'm so happy we went with all of his suggestions. We now get to enjoy our home even more, my little one loves it the most now. I HIGHLY recommend Lawrence and his Team! He's in high demand, so you might need to get on his waitlist.

I was just going to have the fence replaced, and the cracking cement in the back yard repaired. However, when I saw the meticulous, creative, and beautiful work that Lawrence and his team do, I asked them to work on other upgrades as well: The patio area was flagstoned; a beautiful Zen Garden was created; a stylish galvanized iron gate fabricated; the front stairs repaired with porcelain tiles; the garage painted & flooring installed with rubber tiles; new toilet installed in the bathroom; stone countertop, sink, faucet, & dishwasher installed in the kitchen. Instead of trying to describe the excellent quality of their work, I am posting several photos. Their clean up at the end of each day was admirable, and their fees were reasonable for the superb job that was done. I will definitely be calling on them again for future projects.

Just finished our project working with Lawrence and I have nothing but positive reviews. Besides being highly satisfied with the quality of work, it was very easy to communicate with Lawrence and his team. Some of the attributes I look for when it comes to hiring professionals in working on my home are: responsiveness, expertise suggestions, and ease of communication. All of which Lawrence possesses. We had 2 other landscapers come out, give us a quote and relay ideas but it was Green Construction who truly executed from start to finish. Very happy with the work! You won't regret it.

My husband and I hired Lawrence, Kong, and their team this summer to be our contractors to oversee our home renovations in San Francisco for a primary bathroom gut/remodel, kitchen remodel, wood floor installation on our stairs and downstairs level, and a few minor additional projects (e.g., drywall/door replacement, recessed TV mount). Overall, we had a great experience working with them and would highly recommend Green Construction Builders. Specifically, there were a few things that stood out: 1. High quality output: Lawrence and team take pride in their work and the output shows - their craftsmanship is very high quality for value and even minor details were closely considered and cared for. For example, our kitchen countertop has a large (wide/long) peninsula that other contractors might have required multiple stone slabs to construct, but Lawrence's stone vendor was able to cut, transport, and install the peninsula countertop in one slab despite it taking several more hours to get the slab into our home and installed (vs. if we cut this section into multiple pieces). The mitered edges on the waterfall also look seamless, which makes a huge difference and gives a clean and elegant look overall. 2. Efficient work ethic: As with any construction project, there were unexpected issues that arose with each phase. In each instance, Lawrence and his team always tried to mitigate delays by proposing alternative solutions or having an extra person come onsite to finish the job on time. In addition, whenever Lawrence gave us an ETA on when something would be completed, he delivered on these deadlines, which gave us great confidence in his team to get the job done right and on time. Our entire project from start to finish took 4 months, which, given the size of the job, is impressive. 3. Trustworthy and respectful demeanor: I am not a particularly trustworthy person, but Lawrence and his entire team gained my complete trust and respect with the way they operated. They always knock and take off their shoes before entering, they were always mindful of our space (especially the space they weren't working on), and they were always so polite and communicated with patience and respect, even when things were stressful. My husband and I were on vacation multiple times throughout this project and didn't think twice about letting Lawrence and his team, as well as his vendors, enter and continue working, which is saying a lot in San Francisco! In sum, we're thrilled with how everything turned out and are so grateful that it was all finished by October. We will definitely be using Green Construction Builders again!

Lawrence and his team did an amazing job on our backyard. I like that he's a contractor that has a lot of experience with backyards and he's also able to do the plants/trees for landscaping. PRICING: The quote was very fair. I had quoted a couple of other backyard contractors and Green Construction Builders came in the middle. Lawrence called out all of the materials costs separately. He gave me an estimate but called out that prices for things like wood to fluctuate so it's hard to estimate exactly. There are many materials to think about (wood, pebbles, cement truck labor and materials, artificial grass, wood chips, railing etc) DETAILED: Green Construction Builders had great attention to detail. I had a landscape architect do the drawings and Lawrence called out some things that we could not build based on the drawings. Instead of going back and forth with the architect, he worked with me to figure out an updated solution. The issue was we could not build cement planters right up against our carport or the moisture would seep thru to the carport and rot the wood. He showed me how we could adjust the plan and we were happy with the updates. QUALITY: Lawrence and his team go above and beyond. Not only did they build us a beautiful backyard, but the quality of the work was amazing. The deck railing was tricky with the angles and different landings, but he made it work. He also did little things like painted the edges of deck wood pieces to keep them from rotting and added a water proof material under the deck to prevent wood rot too. TIMING: His timing was on schedule as he originally quoted, but the 2 things he needed to schedule that were out of his control were what pushed our project out a bit. Scheduling the concrete truck to align with the project schedule took some time. Getting a custom railing took about 12 weeks which was a long time. We were fine with waiting and had the back yard done and just were careful without a railing for a bit. I would definitely work with Lawrence and hist team again for future projects!

We've worked with Lawrence for a few years now. We started with our yard in 2017, then did our bathroom in 2018, and our garage in 2020. Lawrence has great vision, attention to detail, and workmanship. Most of all, we trust him! Lawrence transformed the exterior of our home. We hadn't taken great care of our yard since we moved in. We have an older, traditional San Francisco home, and Lawrence modernized it with new fencing over our backyard and side yard, low water plants, dry pebble creek, irrigation system, lighting, concrete platforms, extended driveway, and trench drainage. What we appreciated most was how proactive he was. For example, before he cemented our driveway, he noticed we still had old terracotta pipes leading to our home (probably 80+ years old) and he replaced them with newer pipes before he laid the concrete so we wouldn't have to eventually break up our new driveway. He made our yard usable, enjoyable and long-lasting, and we couldn't be happier! In 2018, we redid our master bathroom to maximize our space-- new cabinetry, double sink and tiling. Lawrence put a lot of thought into the remodel, often sending ideas for layout and design. And he was very patient with me when I sent over my crazy ideas. We eventually chose a layout his wife came up with and it worked perfectly! Our bathroom now feels open, modern and functional! We updated our garage in 2020. It was dark, damp and dingy-- and rodents would pop in for a visit every now and then. It was not a place I wanted to spend any time in; let alone store additional food or supplies. We called Lawrence and his guys over to help make the space feel like it was part of our home. They added insulation, closed up the walls with plywood, sheet rocked the ceiling, added a sink, installed new lighting, redid the electrical, and epoxy-ed our floors. We LOVE our garage now! My husband added some cabinets and shelving-- and the whole space feels so much brighter, cleaner and usable. We can store SO much now without the worry of any rodents chewing up our things. We love working with Lawrence and his team!

What a journey! We have been putting up with a very aged shed in the backyard for so long that one day we decided to remove the old sheds and install a new one. Lawrence and his team are so responsive and reliable- our thoughts and ideas became an organized and scheduled construction plan. It was great working with Lawrence with his professionalism, commutative personality and a very responsive and strong team. Would definitely recommend Green Construction Builders if our friends/family needs any of the landscaping/ yard design help!

Lawrence and team built a front fence and gate for us. The terrain was a bit tricky, but they did a great job building something clean, level and attractive. Additionally, Lawrence and team were on time, professional, and went the extra mile to ensure a high quality job. I'm already looking forward to the next project where I can use these guys!
