He is one of the most honest and quality-focused contractors I have ever worked with. During planning, I spoke to a number of other contractors who wanted to use retrofit windows and just leave the siding in place. Alan took the time to explain the proper way that the building wrap, siding and windows had to interface to get waterproofing, and how we were better off replacing all three if we wanted to be sure we'd fix our problem. Even with this extra scope, Alan's pricing was very fair. Thank god we went with Alan. When they removed the existing siding, they found severe water damage underneath the siding and a subpar earlier repair job. When this surprise came up, Alan talked us through the damage and gave us our options. They ended up ripping up two layers of existing siding, cutting out damaged building sheathing and replacing it with new plywood, before proceeding with the job. The overrun costs were very reasonable and we never felt like Alan was taking advantage of us. The end result was great quality at a fair price, and peace of mind that our issues have been resolved and we won't have to worry about the front / roof for a long time now. I would definitely hire Alan again and would recommend him to anyone looking for this kind of work.

The service department was so helpful, they contacted us and contacted the manufacturer to set up appointment with the case number to get it replaced. The windows were replaced 14 years ago in one day and we had many custom sized windows. The amazing thing is they know exactly which window that cracked by us describing the location of the window. Anlin Delmar (Milgard) called us and setup the appointment. They came and replaced the windows in a few hours. It was amazing and we're extremely happy. Now we know, go with the best and reputable company like Custom Exteriors and a good manufacturer like Anlin Delmar to have after service years after the work is done. There was also an area of damage that was not identifiable until the walls were torn down. Luckily, Jose had warned me ahead of time that this was possible, and the change order was reasonable. We hired them for a…read more9 month full renovation of our San Francisco home, including digging out our basement and making a new foundation, all new plumbing, electrical, new stairs, new kitchen, bathrooms, fixing our water drainage issues outside, etc. Our understanding is that with the extent of the work done it could have taken much longer (12-15 months) - we were pretty thrilled that they were able to move efficiently through the process. Some key things that stood out: 1) They were excellent communicators. They were always ready to hop on a call, provided us with reliable and quick estimates, and walked us through the details of the project. they'd provide daily pictures of the job progress. When unexpected issues came up, they provided timely updates and plans. 2) Incredibly hard working. They were on time every day, often worked on weekends to ensure they were meeting the appropriate schedule, and clearly cared about the work. 3) Excellent craftsmanship/skill - I am quite happy with the final product and finishes and they were able to navigate our architectural plans quite well. I have a bunch of pictures attached. 4) Competitive pricing - they provided fair and reasonable prices, and we did quite a bit of shopping around. This was a big deal for us given the extent of the renovation on an old house, where a lot of unexpected fixes and repairs came up. In 2025, we decided to replace all the windows and the front door in the front of the house and wanted Marvin windows to match the front of the house. There are many window replacement companies out there that will build and install windows for you. However, we specifically wanted Marvin windows and we wanted to upgrade to the higher end Marvin windows as we had installed them in the back. Mark (the estimator) was very responsive and came out to measure and give us an estimate. We signed the contract and he said that we could expect installation in 3 months. Well, 3 months came and went and it seems our custom made windows from Marvin had some manufacturing issue and were delayed. Ok, so instead of a September installation, we were now we are expecting a December installation. It wasn't a big deal except that I had to restore my living room for Thanksgiving. This delay wasn't Window replacement Center issue, it was an issue with the Marvin manufacturing process. So, why am I giving a 5 star review. The installation was great. Oleg (sp?) was the lead installer and he did a wonderful job. My husband (a real DYI person and a perfectionist) even said that the workmanship was perfect. See attached pictures. They were here multiple days and left the rooms cleaner than when they started. Not a speck of dirt or dust was left. So, they only do new window replacement/installation. Meaning if you want a window where a wall exist, they don't do that. They don't fix existing windows (broken glass, old hardware). Mark did walk my husband through how to get a replacement part on another window were the hardware was rusted. They also don't do painting. You need to either paint it yourself on the inside or hire a painter to do this. Also, most of the installers speak very little English. We didn't find that to be an issue. If I had a question that they couldn't answer, they called Mark right away and we were able to work it out. The installers all came on time and there was even a day that I said they had to be done by 5 as we had a dinner engagement and they left when I wanted. Overall, this was a really good experience and I would hire them again to install any windows.

I called Patrice and he said to send some pictures and he'd give me an estimate. I sent him the picture that the city inspector had sent me and he responded within an hour with a price and 2 options. I went with option 1. He took care of it the next day. I Zelle'd him payment and viola, problem solved. I really appreciated Patrice's quick responses, his ability to take care of the job ASAP, and allowing me to make payment easily through Zelle. I can't imagine having this process go any smoother.

He did all the installation and finishing himself (with a helper). To be fair, it took Gregory longer than he had estimated to make and install the cabinetry, but it was definitely worth the wait and he was very responsive and obliging throughout the process. The quality and value were top notch; the cost was about 50-60% that of the estimates I received from online cabinetry firms I contacted. Definitely a 5 star experience - thank you Gregory!

We contracted with Matthew Kelly Construction to rebuild our rear staircase on a multi-unit building to comply with new state regulations. It was a challenging case with limited room to maneuver. Matthew and his team communicated well about quotes, project timeline estimates, things that came up during the project, and all explanations of the quote breakdown. I will note the quote was well broken down to let us know what was included in each step which isn't something I saw other contractors doing. He even made a few last minute tweaks to improve privacy in one of the units that the original design didn't consider. Then, when I held back on paying the final bill until that was resolved, they unwarned put a mechanic's lien on our house. Also I'm nervous about their billing setup generally - it got hacked last year and I almost got scammed out of $11k. And during the job itself, they had to take the crew off of our job for an "emergency" somewhere else, leaving a big gap where there wasn't any progress while we had an active construction site at our house. I understand some level of scheduling issues but this was really frustrating. So overall, I'd say all of this put a really bad taste in my mouth, and I'd be really torn on whether to work with them again. The work was tremendous but I can live without surprise interruptions and liens on my house.

(Before all the quotes had come through, I had assumed Ciaran's would be the most expensive because the remodels on the Edenavow website look so high caliber!) Ciaran was able to match the new hardwood flooring to our existing (maybe 100 year old??) hardwood flooring so well. We also ended up using Edenavow to add some shelving to our hall closet and install a new door to our guest room, too. Ciaran is so nice and communicative, and we're so pleased with the results. If we ever remodel our kitchen or bathroom, we'll definitely use Edenavow!

From the first time I…read morereached out to him, he was very patient and forthcoming with me, even offering advice and guidance with how best to get started with approaching the city, as well as assessing bids. We have a three-story Victorian that needed the original brick foundation replaced, as the condition was very deteriorated and well past its useful life. Jim came out to assess the situation and wasn't intimidated at all. He is a straight shooter and tells it as it is, and our job was going to be a major one. I picked Jim because he truly knows his craft and enjoys what he does. Plus he doesn't sugarcoat the inevitable surprises that will arise (plus he has a wicked sense of humor and some great stories to share). We started in the middle of last Summer and finished right on schedule during early Fall. I will be the first to say that it was a huge capital investment to undertake: excavating, removing the original perimeter foundation and shoring up the massive structure, while ultimately putting rebar and pouring the new concrete. I was quite nervous about all of the things that could have gone wrong, but Jim communicated constantly throughout the process and made sure his men were on task and doing quality work. Mid-way through, we had a incident where the sprinklers were inadvertantly triggered overnight, causing water to flood into the trenches. Jim came out immediately with his men after they became aware of the situation (even though it happened on the Labor Day holiday) and personally went to work to shore up the beams that were supporting the house and checking and double-checking any structural weakness caused by the water. Because of his diligence and attentiveness, I honestly felt like we averted a major catastrophe. Jim treated our home with the care and attention he would have given had it been his own home. He has a penchant for finding creative solutions to deal with a host of unexpected problems, and through it all, he was punctual, steadfast and very thorough with his oversight, being on-site every day. We have now moved on to our next phase of the project, but without Jim Patterson & Co, we literally wouldn't have a solid foundation for which to proceed. My thanks to him and his team for the transformative work they did to our forever home.

Last summer Jim and his crew replaced our 130 yr old brick foundation. It was a huge job and we shopped it around, but Jim's estimate came in at the bottom end of the range. What really won us over, however, Jim's approach. He is old school and dedicated to the craft - you could just tell by the way he approached the bid and the conversations w/ the Engineer. And he did not disappoint. He showed up early every morning, had his crew in line and busy every moment of the working day. His guys respected him and all mentioned how much they learned working w/ Jim. I was pretty hands-on, crawling around and checking things. Jim helped me understand all of the parts of the process and how he was making key decisions. He was patient w/ my questions and often went the extra mile to keep me happy. For example, I needed to replace some drainage and he had his guys dig up the concrete on the side of the house to help me out (definitely NOT in the contract). There are also little personal touches that you can't pay for. When his crew found an antique bottle from the SF Dairy Company, Jim put it by the front door with a little note - he knew that this kind of thing would matter to us. Anyway, the job was done on budget and ahead of schedule with great communication throughout. Most importantly, Jim always worked with us to resolve any issues (real or perceived) that I came to him with over the course of the project. Five stars!!

They immediately sought out all required permits while keeping us informed on the important details only and handling all the permitting minutia themselves. David and his team completed every aspect of the job with pride and precision. They actually finished the project right on time, which is rare these days! Pricing was fair and transparent, with no surprises. As you can see from the before and after photos, the transformation is amazing. What used to be a leaky problem area is now a gorgeous media room that we love spending time in. Professional, respectful, and highly communicative, he was always there whenever we needed him, by text, phone, or in person, if we needed reassurance, advice or progress reports he always seemed to be right on the ball. It's hard to communicate just how important this is to keep the blood pressure down while undertaking something as life altering as a major home renovation, but we always felt Fahan had it under control. Our project was completed on schedule, 7 months to do a new kitchen, master bath, staircase installation, family room and deck, plus electrical and lots of small detail work around the house. Seven months is really something considering how easily big renovations like ours can go off the rails. Horror stories abound, and we, quite literally, had none. What a huge relief. In terms of costs, Fahan was transparent and upfront with us. They estimated and invoiced all expected and unexpected costs up front, and clearly stated any potential overruns. There were some, but none that we felt were from left field, and for each one we were given options to keep in line with what we were comfortable with. We understood and signed off on everything before anything moved forward, with a comforting degree of transparency. The only downside we could see was that the pricing tended to be high. It's not entirely clear however if this was due to the current economic conditions of '22-'23 or if it's just what quality work and workmanship costs. But as they say, you get what you pay for. Overall, we felt well-taken care of throughout the process, like there was an insider who knew the business, the pitfalls and the tricks. "I trust them", were words we uttered more than once. Most of the time we weren't even at the house, only catching up on the progress on weekends, but we always knew that the work would get done and with little to no issues along the way. THe house turned out amazing. We really couldn't be happier with the work they did. Fahan's just a quality outfit, contractors and subs, that you should trust with your house too. I am very pleased with the work that they did for me. They were very knowledgeable about what they were doing. I have had some remodeling experience, so when they explained things, my construction knowledge told me they were knowing what they were taking about.
