I had 5 companies come to present and bid on putting solar in my home. Green Convergence was not the cheapest; however, they were close. It was the thoroughness of the company and the quality of panels that sold me. From Sales to Install to Registration, these guys were tight, on time and handled it all. Don't waste your time. Too many people who don't have authority to do anything and the owner doesn't give a damn. I notified the owner D.J., about some poor business practices from his employees ie missed appointment, information not sent when promised. He seemed concerned and said I should contact him if there was any problem. So when I reviewed their contract with the intention to sign, I contacted him about some language that was too vague ie "...for smaller projects..." (define a small project) "...upon verbal or written notice..." (all notices should be in writing to document change), he passed me off to 2 other employees (partners?), who refused to make any changes to the contract. I read the contract from 3 different solar companies. Green Convergence was the worst. It swayed too much in their favor. I signed a contract with another company whose contract was clear and simple. NOTE TO CONSUMER: It's not true when a company says they cannot change a contract. They wrote it, they can change it. It's not written in stone. Go for what you want. There's a lot of solar companies that want your money so make them work for you. read more

OK, so this company is amazing with a capital "A"!!! Don't get your solar from anyone else! My husband and I did months of research and obtained 5 different quotes for solar.We are SUPER thorough and a little OCD :)... Some companies used the Japanese panels and others use the Guinness Book of World Records holder for most efficient panel - Sun Power panels. (just sayin). The Sun Power panels are also made in America, but am getting side tracked.... Lamar and James are amazing. We have a LARGE system...42 panels to be exact and three inverters and it looks great! The install crew was top notch, great to work with, and their work was clean and precise. This company is also a roofing company so you can feel good about them drilling holes in your roof and it not springing a leak. We get compliments on our solar all the time! I cannot say enough good things about Green Convergence and the job they did on my home. Not only did we have 24 SunPower SPR-E20-327 panels expertly installed on our roof, but we also had them re-paper the roof as well. Since our cement tile roof was 17 years old, I figured it was a good idea to have it re-papered at the same time as installing the solar. I wanted a company that could do both at the same time, so I needed a roofing AND solar company. I was very impressed with the presentation and analysis provided by Jeff Figearo, our sales representative (more on him later). I also interviewed and obtained an estimate from another roofing and solar company who advertises about owning your own system on TV (name omitted, but you probably know who). Let's just say that the other company wanted/needed to install 46 panels on my roof just to come close to the same estimated level of power generation as Green Convergence was going to get from 24 panels, for about the same money. The work was done so quickly and efficiently, I was blown away. Not only that, but they really cleaned up after themselves. The inverter is in my garage exactly where I wanted it, and I am really having fun checking my production on the iPhone App. Not only did Jeff act as our sales rep, but he kept in touch throughout the process to ensure that we were happy. Let me start by saying I'm a research junkie, also known as a tech Nerd. I dug far and wide in all the search engines and educated myself before taking the plunge. What I found is this; solar is not a one size fits all business. The other thing I found out is that there are some massive marketing companies in this field" good and bad I guess". Here are the things that are critical to evaluate 1. The tax credit : do you really need it ( can you truly leverage it ) 2. Financing: This is critical and where most people make mistakes 3. Panel Quality:cheap Chinese panels are available however they lose efficiency quickly eroding your savings. 4. Aesthetics : OMG some companies do a Hideous job in this department. 5. Professionalism: Only you can make this decision - most companies have high pressure sales tactics - uggghhh this is the worst part solar companies are like bill collectors it borders on harassment. 6. What does your solar company know abbout roofing? ( the number 1 failure in solar installs) 7. etc etc.etc. There is so much more I went into that would bore you if I kept writing. Here is the bottom line. Green Convergence is a professional local full service company that took their time, moved at my speed.They answered all the questions I had and provided a fair competitive price for the best quality panels by Sunpower and multiple financing options.They also have the best recessed low profile installation with a 50 yr Owens Corning roofing warranty. After posting our review on Yelp, DJ the President & Co-Founder contacted me and asked if he could meet with me and my husband to go over our concerns. We scheduled a time to meet with him. At our meeting we were also introduced to Stacy the CFO of the company. DJ and Stacy listened to our concerns and went over each concern individually. I will address each one separately. 1) As for the increase in value. DJ and Stacy explained that the company uses a Berkeley study to come up with the increased value along with a few educated appraisers. We still question this process, as I work in the Real Estate field and am told that their numbers are off. DJ is still researching to find some examples of how a home can increase in the amount that they said. We do understand why you should be able to value your home more because of the solar panels, but the industry just isn't cooperating on this fact. (As of 12/2/14 I have yet to see any examples) 2) As for the "Time of Use" plan with SCE, the plan that I had found was not for new customers. Stacy, however, after a lengthy search and a phone call to SCE was able to find it and proceeded to give us the print out of the information. She even was thankful for looking, because now she has decided to try out this plan. I will be looking into it further to see if it will benefit us. 3) Adding to our system. This was discussed with both DJ and Stacy with regards to what each of the sales people said to us. They agreed that some more education to the sales representatives was needed and emailed me days later stating that they met with the sales department to make sure that they are putting out a consistent message with regards client expectations. In regards to us inquiring about adding on to our current system and not putting a completely new system on the house, we were informed that the sales rep was new and didn't quite understand what we were asking for. DJ assured us that when solar is installed you want the maximum for the best performance which is why we couldn't add on. We are already at our maximum for the system we have. If we want more benefits, we would have to add another system to the house. This is understandable. They have since spoke with the sales rep to make sure he doesn't overstate to potential customers. read more

Don't hire Green Convergence (GC) without reading this: I signed for solar installation with GC in August of 2019. What they did not tell me is that many houses will need substantial electric work before the current energy provider (DWP) would allow a solar install. GC immediately installed 44 panels on my home (their measurements were wrong, but I caught their mistake in time). Once the panels were installed I was notified by DWP that my generator (5 years old) had not been permitted. Before it could be permitted, the generator transfer switch would have to be rewired. Then, the power to the house, from the street, would have to be rewired using an updated code. Five big holds in the ceiling of the room next to the power box outside later, the distribution panel had to be reconnected and inspected. Next, GC informed me that their monitoring box (already installed in my garage; another hole in the wall) would have to be relocated outside (a hole drilled in the brick facing). Finally, at the end of April (8 months after signing, I finally had solar) Here is the scam: When you sign, GC does not even know or attempt to find out if your home is "solar qualified," and they are content to see you pay thousands of dollars to electrical contractors and continue to pay the existing electric bills before their system can be tested. They will immediately put panels on your roof, that will be useless and will not be connected to your energy provider leaving the thousands of dollars of expense and delay to you. They have your money; their panels aren't connected but asking for a refund, "We have no intention of removing the panels and refunding your money." They employ several well trained telephone girls with soft voices to calm you while you write checks to comply with any deficiency your energy company might require prior to solar installation. It's not secret i'm a super demanding customer type. Debbie our project manager was absolutely amazing, punctual, great communicator and delivered 100% on everything I asked. The construction crew was super friendly, professional and attentive to all of my requests. I could not be happier with the results. I live way far away from their office, but took the referral from a good friend of mine and I was not disappointed in the least. The GSM Sam is a good guy to work with and was very straight up with pricing and service. If you happen to buy from them, do yourself a favor and request Debbie as your project manager. GreenConvergence was AMAZING to work with! 5 Stars!! I would not choose any other Solar company! From our first meeting with Nadia Foley - we felt as if we were treated like family - they are locally owned and operated - which we also greatly supported. There was no pressure sales - we collected information and didn't sign our solar contract until months later. Nadia followed through with us the entire project and was there every step of the way to work any questions or issues that popped up. The site plans Green Convergence provided were amazingly well done - it went through our HOA Architecture process with a breeze. The installation method of the solar panels (embedding the panels within the roof) for a SUPER CLEAN install was the #1 reason we were initially drawn here. They did an amazing job on the install, no exposed conduits and the SunPower equipment is superb compared to other manufacturers. We ended up having to replace our electrical panel - since we put in 28 panels - and they covered that for us as well! The process was extremely well laid out and everyone did a great job. I reached out to Sunpower through their website and received an e-mail the following day. We were referred to the team in Santa Clarita. Everyone that we have dealt with is very professional. This is on behalf of my father. He is extremely disappointed with his very large unit. He signed up in June when he was told it would take a maximum of a few months to have everything up and running and he is STILL waiting for the solar to be hooked up. He bought 40 panels and 2 power walls (so super expensive). The communication has been horrible. April is the project manager, she is polite but never calls back or gives any updates (he told me to add they are few and far between). It's very frustrating. Thank you and your team of roofing experts, electricians, and solar installing technicians for a "Superior job" in workmanship on the installation of the Sun Power Solar for our home. The preparation work, flexibility your team displayed, and the customer service that occurred to get the installation completed is appreciated, but also a testament to doing more than what you said, you would do. Also I appreciate holding to a quick timeline (Oct 24 to Nov 22) for basically everything except turn-on, which I hope happens next week. At work, being a Manufacturing and Engineering Executive, I deal with many Presidents and CEOs, and the challenges for design and manufacturing of electronic components. I find less and less persons who are willing to go the extra mile, doing what they know is right, and taking the customer's desires fully into account. You both seem to be a rare exception. In all cases, you both have displayed this "excellence in customer service" trait, which I feel is a testament to the business you are building. The level you have driven this ideal into your staff, working to ensure my total Satisfaction is quite impressive. Although I never hope to need any after sale service, I feel at this early juncture, that my trust to chosen a Green Convergence SunPower Solutions (especially with Mastertile installation) over the competition of Sun Run (Costco) or even CA Solar (SunPower identical solutions) was well founded. I researched for almost 6 months, narrowing down to SunPower over the vast majority. The warranty I expect is never needed, but I'm reassuring to have 25 years coverage. Regarding the aesthetics of MasterTile installation, people must see to believe. The electrical is totally hidden, the panels are inset almost flush with the S-tile on my home, making it a perfect fit for us. It was one of my decision factors, to raise the value of the home with QUALITY installation methods. In comparison, the CA Solar installation in my neighborhood is an eyesore with conduits everywhere - compared to what is on my roof. Sure they were faster, and it shows in what they did. I personally believe your messaging to the community, on the value your installation brings, is understated. I'm however not suggesting you raise your pricing, just sell the value everyone gets with your vast knowledge, expertise and craftsmanship and beat the competition. For me, the 1st hand review of work/installation methods is vital to understanding why customers should consider installing with someone who will ensure no leaks, proper materials are used, and backing by certified roofing and electrical professionals who stake their reputation with each job. If you get a customer who wishes to speak to someone other than you, I will offer to have them call me or if they wish, arrange a time to speak onsite of my home with Jeff or yourself as they consider the risks and rewards of solar. There could be many who may wish to see a master tile installation, not in a show room, but on a home. Lastly, you can thank Jeff for all this trouble that I caused you before our purchase. He found us, and diligently kept us in his radar from 2014 (when we 1st voiced interest in Solar but couldn't afford it) until 2016 when we made the purchase. We are very happy with SunPower by GC, and especially Ana (client care manager) and Adalex (installer/service). Our original solar company went bankrupt about 3 years after installing an otherwise great system - and we were without monitoring until a few months ago when our inverter broke. SunPower was able to take over the contract (without charging us), execute on the warranty case, and install a brand new inverter. We had to carry a minor fee to make up for the labor - and our solar now finally works again. We are quite happy knowing we have monitoring again and that the system is up and running, once more. Adalex' came out 3 times as the replacement unit that got shipped to SunPower was missing the right parts (no fault of SunPower). And Ana was kind and patient with our case - despite us not being an original customer. I also learned that SunPower installed the solar system for Grace Baptist Church on Copper Hill - which gives me a lot of confidence in their technical excellence. read more

From the panels to the new electrical box to even the required smoke detectors everything was done professionally, timely and super clean. I was especially impressed with the matching of the stucco work around the electrical panel ( a perfect match ). It helped that I had the paint from a recent re-paint. Cannot wait to be paying $22 every two months for power. Hopefully the final sign off is done in a timely way. Sunpower by Green Convergence could care less that my system has been INOP since April. The last time somebody came out was about 2 months ago they were supposed to replace the Inverter, they didn't bring one. They troubleshot the system came up with nothing. After couple weeks not hearing from them I called to schedule something they said they could come out 10/27 about 6 weeks later. How's that for Service it had already 4-5 months since my system worked, So they were out today, the Technician was very good and replaced the Inverter. The system was making a thumping sound that he was concerned about and let his people know, but left the system running. Now its also making a Loud humming sound. I contacted Green Convergence to see if a Tech could come out today and look at it. They said they were booked today but maybe latter in the week but Probably not. They made their money I guess they don.t have Time for me anymore. read more

We just got solar panels and wow it went so smooth and easy with Green Convergence. We had a two project managers who were available and communicative the entire process; they told us what to expect, who was coming, when they were coming, what they would be doing, and at the end of each day called me to tell me what the next step was. The installation for 25 panels only took 2 days and even though they had to run a conduit on the outside of our house, they color matched our stucco and even made out direct tv wire look better than it was before they came. I really appreciated the way they communicate and even though there was a minor hiccup in the inspection process (city had to reschedule) it all went very smoothly. Green Convergences is a top rated solar company but I must say it always starts with who you initially speak to and for me that was Nadia Foley who was an awesome consultant. Nadia guided me through the process and made it so easy. I couldn't have been happier with the work the company did. Nadia was always there when I had a question or two. I have recommended many of my friends to her who saw my install. Four or five of my friends have gone with GC and used Nadia as their consultant and were extremely happen with her and the total install.
