I had a very disappointing experience with Shugarman's Bath Company…read more I first met their representatives at a local festival, where they advertised that they would provide a completely free bathroom design if I agreed to a home consultation and listened to their sales presentation. I specifically explained that I was interested in a full bathroom remodel, not just a shower replacement. Based on those representations, I agreed to schedule an appointment. When the salesperson arrived at my home, I was surprised to learn that the company only focuses on showers and does not provide complete bathroom remodels or custom bathroom designs as I had been led to believe. Despite realizing early in the appointment that their services did not match what I was looking for, I still sat through the sales presentation because I understood the salesperson was giving up his time to be there. The presentation lasted approximately an hour and a half. At the end, I was given a very expensive proposal, but no picture of how the shower would look like. When I followed up and requested to receive a picture of how the of the shower would look like as I was promised, I was told that they do not provide designs and that I should simply look at photos on their website (this statement came directly from Mr. Jones who was the lead design team. This was completely different from what was presented to me when I agreed to the appointment. I felt the advertising was misleading and that the primary goal was simply to get a salesperson into my home rather than provide the service that had been promised. I was also told that I could receive a discount if I left a positive review, which made me question the authenticity of some of the company's online reviews. Additionally, I was offered what was presented as a "free vacation" if I agreed to move forward with their proposal. However, as the details were explained, it became apparent that this was not truly a free vacation but rather a promotional offer tied to a timeshare-style presentation. This felt like another example of marketing that was not fully transparent upfront. Throughout the appointment, I felt significant pressure to decide on the spot. The overall experience reminded me of a high-pressure car dealership sales environment, where the focus seemed to be on getting a signed contract rather than understanding my needs and providing the services that had originally been promised. I believe companies should be transparent about the services they offer and should honor the commitments made to potential customers. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

Let me start off first by saying, I did my research and even asked for and followed up on…read morereferences given for Jorge's workmanship before hiring him. All of the reviews and references were glowing. In fact, we had, I thought, a great working relationship from 2023 up until recently. I had grown to trust him. He did many projects for my mom's house, and I planned on having him work on my house in the near future. This final and most expensive project was to install new vinyl gates. He instructed me on what to purchase, since we have a military discount at the big box hardware store. He installed the gates over a few weeks, there were a few delays due to a shortage of parts needed. It was started in January 2026, and finally completed in March. It looked okay from a distance, but as I looked closer, I noticed many flaws. I don't have to be an experienced handywoman to know that something is not right (please reference posted pictures). So I asked him to come and fix the gates, as they were unacceptable. He asked what was wrong with them, and basically I told him and showed him with the pictures I took. He said he would come by. Delay upon delay. Weeks and months later he still says he'll come by (see screenshots posted). Finally, he says he will come this Monday. We wait all day. No show. I say to him, "If you didn't want to fix the gates, just say that." Essentially, he says he's not coming, and he can give me an $850 refund. I say, great, please send it. Then he proceeds to ghost me for the next few days. It's disappointing that some people and businesses are the way that they are. I just wanted to help my mom upgrade her home and make it look nicer. Below are the key observations based on visible conditions: Left Gate: *Missing screws in several areas, compromising stability and proper assembly. *Visible foam residue on the vinyl surfaces that must be properly removed and cleaned. Right Gate: *Improper installation of the 4x4 support posts. *Use of cardboard and expanding foam as filler material between the vinyl and concrete, which is not an acceptable or durable installation method. *Gate is misaligned and does not close or latch properly. *A piece of wood was used between the concrete and the post as a makeshift support, indicating improper anchoring of the 4x4 post. *Scratches and cosmetic damage present on the vinyl surfaces. *Multiple exposed and unsealed screw holes throughout the vinyl. *Excess foam residue visible across the right side of the gate. *One post cap is loose and not securely installed. ~ In regards to the business' response: Everything I do is on my mother's behalf. I am her agent. I do the all the vetting, collecting bids, and hiring for her. The issue was not money, it was about fixing the flaws on the gates. And lastly, it was at her request that I be present if you decided to show up. We trusted you, and this is what you left us with. That is all.

Once approved, next day they came to my house and proceeded to fix the problem. Had to first fix connection to the main line in the street. Next day came out and lined the aging clay pipe. Simon and his son were great. Kept us informed on everything that was being done. Simon and Simon team did a fabulous job and very neat and cleaned up everything before leaving. Thanks Simon and Simon. And also Brandon was great in making sure all went well. I would hire them any plumbing work I need done.

I'm usually wary and skeptical of plumbing companies because a lot are unfortunately out there to…read morescam you... but Happy Plumbing surprised me in such unexpected ways. First, they had an easy reservation system for online booking, I received a personal check in to confirm the appointment, they sent me a text to notify me when my technician Roby was on the way (and even included a photo so I knew who to expect at my door, which is much appreciated)! Just all around great communication and prompt responses from their office. Next, my technician Roby was so kind, knowledgeable and efficient. I appreciated that he was not only able to identify the problem quickly, but he explained what might have contributed to my garbage disposal needing replacement to avoid recurring issues in the future. While he was here, he also quickly fixed my toilet and even went above and beyond and helped me install my toilet seat when he saw that I had a new one sitting in the box in the corner of my bathroom! Really excellent customer service. And finally I also appreciate that he didn't try to upsell me or convince me that everything in my house needed replacing. He actually encouraged me to save money by showing me where to get my own disposal that he came back to install. Pricing was very fair for the work that was done. I will definitely be coming back to Happy Plumbing in the future, and I will be telling everyone I know to use them. Thanks Roby and team!
