Been going here for years they are a cash only and I'm usually seated quickly and the service is very good. The restaurant as a whole is clean and bright. My go to is the cure skillet It's a beautiful way to blow up your diet.Its brisket, French fries and mac and cheese all mixed together in a beautiful great tasting dish. The real slightly negative thing I have to say it's pretty much all Philly restaurants do it is they do charge a service fee but they don't say what it is. I looked it up and it's to pay the back of house staff not the service staff. I would say management may want to choose a better name for it read more

The food was awful. I had the short rib Benedict and cheesy hash browns were brick-like and too hard to cut through but still probably the best part of the whole breakfast. The eggs were poached but hard boiled in texture and chalky and gross. Everything seemed like it was taken straight from a bag of frozen food to heat up. Greasy, not flavorful, strictly disappointing. The server was nice enough. The specialty coffees sounded good, but were just overly sweetened, crappy coffee. I had the pecan cinnamon roll latte as a treat but was unpleasantly surprised the "cinnamon roll" garnish seemed like one of those packaged, sticky, ultra-processed school lunch type of treats. I would give this place 5 stars! I am not one to gatekeep delicious food but when the young lady host was acting very odd towards me and my friend it completely set the tone for my experience. It was pouring down and I rushed inside while my friend went to get a parking spot. Two other people left the restaurant and I could hear them complaining. The first thing I noticed was half the resturant was empty while the other half was busy. The host said it would 20-30 min wait. I said no problem, and as I stood in the waiting area. She then said with a rude comment, you have to wait in the rain outside. I had to stand behind a glass door in the pouring rain while I watched the her watch me get soaked outside. Then made sure to tell me she cannot take my number to call me when a table is ready so that eliminates waiting in the car. Came to realize the other two people earlier were being drenched in the rain were also waiting to be seated. I never experienced such terrible accommodations. No apology, umbrella, or accommodations. My friend and I were about to leave until she yelled out the door our table is ready. Then smirked and said company policy. I hope no one else experiences being treated so rudely. My friend loves the food here so we drove all the way from Jersey just for brunch! She thoroughly enjoyed her vegan pecan pie French toast. It was ok, maybe if the temperature of my meal (or even the temperature of the restaurant) was hotter I would've enjoyed it more. I had the "kitchen sink" and it was pretty tasty! Where do I even start? We had a bit of a wait but the wait was worth it. They do have an accessibility ramp, which a member of our party used. I ordered the PB&j latte as well as the short rib Benedict. My brunch dates ordered the French toast dishes and they turned out great. My Benedict was delicious and went well with the potatoes. The French toast was fluffy with a lot of flavor. The blueberries being in season along with lemon gave it a great bright flavor. Since the portions were so large, I split the Benedict with them and had some of the french toast. The creme brulee french toast was a major win as well. This place gets very busy but service is great and the food is absolutely worth the wait. Very cool diner vibes and also very clean. There's tables in the back and the front. Green Eggs Cafe is of our favorite breakfast/brunch spots in the city. They have limited menu and seasonal specials that they execute brilliantly. My standard goto order is Kitchen sink skillet that comes with biscuit and gravy and some delicious small sized potatoes and cheese. The skillet is nice and tasty and has never disappointed me. We also ordered kid's French toast sticks which was nice but a bit on the oily side. The beverages that we ordered were flavorful and strong. The beverage portion was on the smaller side though. My only issue is that even today they are cash only place which is nostalgic at times but almost all the other times very irritating as we now need to arrange for cash. Service is nice and polite. We were so excited to give Green Eggs a try. After going out the night before, we were very excited to get some brunch- a friend had dined at this establishment prior and had wonderful things to say about the food. Unfortunately, upon entry the atmosphere inside was already uncomfortable. The staff seemed to be extremely disorganized especially when considering there was no wait to be seated (party of six) and many empty tables (probably should have been our first red flag). Before even being seated, the hostess made us feel very unwelcome by berating one of the members of our party who went to view the menus posted on the counter whilst waiting for our table to be put together. Another comment was made as she was seating us (remaking that she "thinks we might" have a good time dining there. Once we arrived at the table and we're seated, we all expressed our disinterest in continuing our dining experience, leaving shortly thereafter. On our way out, the hostess made no attempt to keep our business by simply saying her goodbyes as we left. The chicken sandwich was mediocre and probably should have gone with one of the interesting breakfast items. Coffee drink with cinnamon whip cream was amazing. The service was good but to be honest was uncomfortable with a service charged added to bill as we did not know if this went to serve. Percent was 18 percent and given early statement did not want to leave a couple of dollars. Receipt also had suggested tip printed which suggested to us service charge did not go to wait staff. Our serve Damien was amazing. My friend's mimosa was not right the first time and the manager herself came over and made sure it was correct. "Smash burger" was served cold, dry, with no seasoning. Waiter dismissed customer complaints and then avoided our table for 20 minutes, then refused to take anything off of a very expensive bill. This is the second time I've eaten here, and it was a lovely experience again. Our waitress was absolutely lovely (unfortunately, I didn't catch her name); I requested hot water to drink during our meal, and she also gave me an extra cup of hot water to go when we left because it was cold outside. I got a strawberry matcha, which was great; the strawberries were very sweet, and our waitress also gave me a boba straw because the strawberry pieces kept getting stuck in the regular straw. I ordered the Pernil Benedict from the special's menus and it was delicious. The meat was very soft while the rice cake was crispy, and textures and flavors worked well together. Before I start explaining why I am deducting 2 stars from my review for this restaurant, I would like to say why it at least deserves 3 stars. The food was pretty good and there was enough on the menu for all types of breakfast lovers (note: I went during the brunch hours). All in all, I wasn't disappointed with the quality of food I received. However, I'm not sure if this was temporary, but they only allowed cash payments. With the digital age, not many people have physical cash if they are going out to breakfast. This may be why my table was one of the only tables occupied in the restaurant. Personally, I find eating out to be a much better experience if the restaurant is filled. In terms of service, it almost felt like the servers forgot about my table. There were no utensils on the table and we had to go get the utensils from the servers. That is a major red flag if a customer has to physically retrieve something from the servers. We maybe received a water refill once in the duration of our 20 minute meal. The Green Eggs Cafe has potential to be a fine dining establishment with a couple tweaks. read more

Even when first arriving, there was a wait to get a table even though there were plenty of empty tables. Why? The place wasn't terribly busy but we did have to wait a little over an hour for our meals to come out. Fortunately every single entree was well worth the wait Look at the pictures attached. These are such beautiful and delicious brunch foods. Every single dish knocked it completely out of the park. All of the food was cooked and plated to perfection. The standout dish would be the Buffalo Mac N Cheese. They perfectly balanced all the flavors in this deceptively simple dish. Every other entree we received was very well made too! They came in huge portions and everybody in our party was satisfied. This is an awesome place to get lunch if you're not in any rush. We stopped in here for breakfast on a Friday morning. It wasn't super busy, but still had a lively atmosphere. As a vegan dating a non-vegan, I love a place with options for both of us labeled on the menu. The food came out incredibly fast. We weren't in any sort of rush, but it was still appreciated! The prices are a tad high, but it was a lot of food. If we lived in the area and weren't staying in a hotel, I would have taken half home to enjoy the next day. The ultimate Tofu Scramble was good overall. They gave an impressive amount of avocado, the rye toast and potatoes were delicious. The tofu itself was a bit bland, but nothing some salt, pepper and hot sauce couldn't help. The Bloody Marys were good as well. All of the staff we interacted with were friendly and attentive. The food was fine, but the way this place handles billing is unacceptable. They slapped a "service charge" onto our check for a table of just four people at breakfast. That's nothing but a money grab. To make it worse, they still suggested a tip on top of that. Charging a service fee for a small party is a cheap trick and feels dishonest. If a restaurant wants to raise prices, they should do it openly, not sneak in extra charges and then push customers to tip again. We did also tip because that goes directly to the server and even though she was not that great, it is not our style not to tip. One and done. On our annual Philly party trip, we lucked up and found Green Eggs Cafe just steps away from our hotel (Royal Sonesta). If I lived in Philly, this would be one of my favorite breakfast spots for sure. We didn't have reservations but we were able to snag a couple seats at the very large bar. Green Eggs is deceptively large, with a whole separate section to the rear. As far as brunch food goes, Green Eggs can't be beat. My friend ordered the French toast sampler and I went for the Chicken eggs Benedict. I've never had that iteration of the Benny, man was that thang GOOOOOOD!!! My friend said the French toast sampler was better than any dessert he's ever had! The reason Green Eggs didn't squeeze a 5 out of me, for one, it's a cash only establishment. Who carries cash these days but they do have an ATM on site. Second, for some mind baffling reason, they have a manned hostess booth OUTSIDE in the freezing cold. Why in the world would they do that? I felt the menu consisted of a lot of heavy dishes, I didn't come too hungry but I ordered an omelette which was made really well! I didn't like the potatoes but would come back for the omelette.
