Went to the restaurant at about 4:30 p.m. Seated in a booth along the first row - the sun shone in and what I saw was not pretty. The barrier between the booths is painted black and with the sun shining on it you could see all the grease, fingerprints, dust and food particles stuck on the wood. Hard to tell whether my food, a chicken dish, was truly horrible or if I just couldn't get passed the grime on the booth panel. Never going back. read more

Waiter was very unfriendly and spoke to us in broken English. When taking order from one to other he would say "Next". We had to repeat ourselves several times before he understood. Wall where we were sitting was very dirty and it was very noisy in there. Price was very high and higher then they advertised on the menu on the internet. Bloody Mary came in a highball glass and was nasty. They didn't even offer a refund. We all complained the food was real greasy and nasty tasting. We ordered 4 different types of food and they were all grose. I wouldn't feed a dog this meal. Portions were very small. They didn't even use a traditional Udon noodle instead it looked more like a lo mein noodle. We had them doggy bagged all our meal and left and ended up throwing it away at home after trying food again. This was the worst Oriental or matter of fact any restaurant experience ever. Food is delicious! At the sushi bar there is usually a futbol game on [which my boyfriend and I love] and the service is prompt. It's my go-to place for a great meal, no questions ask. My wife and I seem to gravitate to this place. We are originally from CT, and they have one heck of a sushi selection down there. The food always seems to be good at Green Ginger but they are seriously lacking in the sushi.. they need more types of fish.. I'm someone who enjoys mainly Nigiri (fish upon rice). We have been to Green Ginger many times over the years. The food quality and portion size has been getting worse as time goes on. This weekend we went for sushi, and the rolls were significantly smaller diameter than they have been in the past. All the food we ate tasted ok. Unfortunately, I believe we had a dishonest waiter, because my daughter left her tablet at the table when we left, and it wasn't discovered missing until the following day. The restaurant was called, and we were told nothing had been turned in, and later, my wife visited just to make sure. While speaking with the manager, she spotted our waiter, who was acting pretty shifty, trying not to make eye contact with her, and generally seeming guilty. Be careful to keep close eye on all your belongings if you eat here! read more

We had dinner there this evening the food was good. The waitress had an attitude problem and because of the language barrier gave us the wrong appetizer and brought it out with our meal. Forgot my daughter's dinner and by the time it came out we were almost done with ours. Overall bad experience tonight we have been there before and never had any problem. Food and drink is good. The service not so much. I waited over a half an hour for a glass of water with two reminders. Then I watched a couple ( we were a couple ) get their drinks and food before us and our order was nor difficult, after being seated after us. The waiter (Benny) basically threw the plate on the table at us as if we were an after thought to his evening. Although I and my other half both work in retail and dealing with the public all day we shouldn't have to be treated this way after working all day and going to spend our money this way. Sometimes I understand why places get bad reviews. For Green Ginger I don't know why anyone would give them less than 3 stars. I've eaten here several times over the last ten years and have never gotten a bad meal - EVER - even when they were busy. That's whether I was ordering Chinese or Japanese. We stopped at the green ginger after a day of shopping at the outlets in tilton. We ordered pork ravioli/dumplings fried- they were really greasey but the taste was okay- the sauce I didn't care for very bland. Next we ordered general gau's chicken the portion was very small like maybe 10 bite sized pieces without any noticeable spice a tad under cooked so it was crispy the way it's supposed to be and it came to us cold. The Chicken Lomein we ordered was good no complaints, the white rice was perfect ...real sticky rice. Also ordered shrimp moo shu my only complaint was it was served to us cold. As for service our waiter appeared to not be trilled with his job or with us or the world in general but was professional. I remember this place be better than it was tonight that's why we went back hoping to have a good meal but we were disappointed. read more

The service here is awful. When my family and I got home with our order, we found out it wasn't the right food. We called back to figure out what was going on and when we reached the manager, he was rude and tried blaming the mistake on us. The mistake itself wasn't a huge problem for us, the way he reacted was the issue. When we went back to get the correct order, he blamed the issues on the girls up front instead of taking responsibility. We went back home with the correct order and found that most of the food was cold. He had taken the food from the previous incorrect order and put the correct items back. I am appalled at how terrible the manager treated us. We will never be going back here again. read more

It seems odd, but until I had takeout from here I thought all Chinese takeout food was chewy to hard after a day. General's chicken is my go to dish and their General's chicken was fabulous. I have dined here several times and have always found the food, service and atmosphere to be great. However, my last visit was disappointing. There were eight of us in our party and two of them ordered a beef and vegetable dish. All of the meals were great except for these two. D and C both tried to eat some of the beef strips but they were just too chewy to eat. After trying 4 or 5 pieces, they gave up and descretely placed the 1/2 chewed pieces on a side dish and covered them with a napkin. We were not going to say anything but the waitress asked how everything was so we told her about these two meals. She grabbed the plates and rushed into the kitchen. Within two minutes the floor manager ( not the owner ) appeared and immediatly said that in his position, he was limited as to what he can do to remedy the situation. He went on to say that there are 14 pieces of meat on this dish and five pieces were "missing". He was implying that they ate most of the meal and was trying to avoid paying for the meal. We were furious and left shortly after. When we were leaving we learned that a nearby group of people have left for the very same reason !! They had to know that there was a problem with the beef. Food quality is one thing but to be insulted by the staff is another. I don't think I will be back. read more

I just tried to place a take out order--twice. The first time I was put on hold for 3 minutes and still no one took my order so I hung up. I called back an hour later and was put on hold for another two minutes and hung up again. Frustrating customer service usually indicates what the rest of the experience will be like. read more

I used to love this place but recently I have become very disappointed in the food. I've gone back a few times recently hoping the quality will return, but it has not. The last straw happened tonight. I Ordered the sweet and sour chicken and the wonton soup. First off the soup only had two wontons. Seriously?! Two Wontons in the regular soup size? Then i opened my sweet and sour chicken and they didn't even put the sauce on the chicken! They just gave me chicken fingers and sweet and sour sauce. These cooks are clearly lazy if they can't even sauce the chicken. Seriously don't go here. The food sucks, the portions suck, and they won't even sauce your chicken. read more

My husband and I were in the Lakes Region for Labor Day and wanted something different for dinner. Tried Green Ginger and were pleasantly surprised! We tried the scallion pancakes and steamed vegetable ravioli while we waited for our whole Peking duck to arrive. Appetizers were good, but the duck really exceeded expectations! For the two of us the half duck would have been sufficient, but what great take-home! We will frequent again when we are in the area. And, service was some of the best we have seen in a while. read more

Still dreaming of the best orange chicken in New England. So good, that this is my first yelp review ever. My boyfriend and I stopped in here on a road trip home to Boston and we were pretty blown away at how good this place was. Being a native of California and being spoiled with amazing chinese food, nothing I've tried on the East Coast in 2 years has compared. Not only is the staff really friendly and the place inside charming, the food was delicious. I got the Orange Chicken dish and I seriously was caught so off guard at how delicious it was. The sauce was tasty and more importantly the chicken was lightly breaded, dusted with batter, not COVERED in it. My boyfriend got the Dragon and Phoenix and it was just as delicious. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area or anyone passing by! To me, it would be worth a 1 or 1.5 hr drive every few months! Can't wait to go back. read more
