I contracted with them towards the end of 2025 with the promise my system would be installed b fore the end of 2025 to qualify for the US federal tax solar credit. I recommend to not use this company. We signed a contract with them on 9/16/25. I have a voicemail saved from them that says 100% will be installed before 12/31/25. On 12/29/25 with no installation done, they advised us to pay full amount in order to get tax credit on full amount, which we did. (In retrospect, I should not have done this). We had solar panels delivered on 1/21/26. We were told there were issues getting microinverters approved on 2/10/26. I live in Pennsylvania. This company purports to have an office in PA. I have gone to the listed address in PA, it does not exist. Today is 5/5/2026. I have not had communication with them since 3/16/26. I attempted to contact them via email or phone on March 18, March 26, March 28, March 30, March 31, April 3 and April 14. I sent a letter via certified mail that was returned unopened on April 10. They did not respond to any of these attempts to communicate. We asked the The PA Office Of Attorney General to help intercede. They sent 2 letters to attempt to mediate. Green Home Systems did not respond. They have taken all of our money, failed to finish the install, and now are unreachable. read more

Green Home Systems advertises CSLB License #1054222 on their website. That license is REVOKED per the CSLB's own records. That fact alone should end the conversation. I signed my contract in October. It is now May. I still don't have a working system. Here's what I've experienced: 2x no-shows on the install date, a failed inspection, a two-month delay on PTO paperwork they never started, two defective batteries, four reschedules of a single repair appointment, and weeks of unanswered calls and texts. Their "support team" is one person named Edward who has lied to me more times than I can count. Every commitment made by every person at this company -- Robbie, Jason, Edward -- has been broken. I am filing formal complaints with the CSLB, the San Diego DA's Consumer Protection Unit, and the California Attorney General. Save yourself 7 months of your life. They installed a new roof and solar panels for us in late 2022 and we've had problems with both. The roof has had ongoing issues: It leaked copiously for months, as they couldn't find the sources of the leaks and, even after they finally found and fixed the obvious ones in the back part of the house, we discovered there were more as we began to have mold on the living room ceiling (front of the house), which we'd never had before. After many calls, they finally sent someone from far outside our area (and unfamiliar with the way roofing is done here) to find and repair those problems, though they never fully repaired them---we now have evidence that it is still leaking in places in the front. In addition, there are areas along the roof's edge with no flashing (it's a flat roof) and indications it was not installed with a correct/consistent pitch to drain water from it, so water is pooling rather than draining off. Soon after heavy rains late last year and early this year, we learned that the front area of the roof had become soggy as water seeped under it, so we have serious concerns with mold as well as water damage that must be occurring out of sight. We don't think we have any options but to replace the roof. If the ongoing roof issues weren't bad enough, the solar inverter (which sends power to the grid to offset our electricity bills) started to malfunction in late June of 2024. I contacted GHS a number of times and they finally sent someone out in August who inspected the system and told me that the panels all seemed fine and, if the problem recurred, I'd need to have the inverter replaced. It happened again within a couple of weeks. Despite numerous phone calls over the next months, as it happened again and again, they did nothing, not even returning phone calls most of the time. The inverter stopped working altogether around early-February of 2025. They finally sent someone out to replace it in late March. From late-June of 2024 until it was replaced, we lost a considerable amount of solar production and our energy bills (as we are still paying for the solar and roof installation) were outrageous. GHS has been a horrible company all the way around. Don't trust them and don't trust the people they contract with to replace your roof! read more

Do not under any circumstances consider using Green Home Systems for a solar project. Their sales people promise the world but the company simply doesn't deliver on their contractual commitments or promises. My project still isn't operational almost six months after being operational was guaranteed. The company seems to be a disorganized mess without any apparent project management or follow-up systems. The company communicates very poorly, doesn't honor any scheduling commitments and doesn't stand behind their work properly, blaming an equipment manufacturer (Fox) for faulty equipment that has never once worked (even two + months after obtaining final regulatory/utility approval to go live with the system). I've had nothing but hassles, heartaches, financial loss and sleepless nights but not the system that I paid a lot of money for. I have never before written a negative review of a company but this one is way more than warranted. read more

This is worst contracting company I have ever worked with in my life. We paid over $20,000 to have solar panels installed on our new roof, and it's now been over a year and we are still fighting them. They installed the batteries in the wrong location, which was NOT EVEN APPROVED in the plans approved by the City and the fire department, then switched installers twice, and now we are in some sort of limbo where the equipment has been installed but we can't get approval to turn it on (obviously - they installed it all wrong!!) so we are out all of our money but can't get the benefits of the solar panels that are sitting on our roof. I constantly have to call or email them for updates, and they pretend that they have "new" updates every time i talk to them, but it turns out aboslutely no work is being done on our project for months at a time. We are considering a lawsuit, as that seems to be the only way to get our money back. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!! We will be reporting them to the state board. read more

My husband signed a contract in early October, and it is now late December. We heard nothing from GHS after signing the contract. We reached out to the company many times by phone and email but had no response except for consistent emails back saying "we take pride in providing clear and consistent communication. I want to ensure you always have a way to reach me directly". And, we never had call backs answering our phone messages. We terminated our contract 4 days ago due to GHS not following through on their end of the contract and since then we have had daily calls harassing us by different GHS employees. We have had threats of a lien on our house, cancellation fee, or being taken to court. They do have a arbitration clause but haven't brought that up and that should be the only threat made--if any. The last call was from Roxana Castillo. Her title is Rehash Manager. And that is exactly what she did was rehash that GHS was not wanting to accept our termination of the contract. She disclaimed knowing the other employees that threatened us, didn't seem to know that we had signed a contract or how much GHS had done for us. She also "felt" that it was not right that we had been harassed but knew that GHS will do a great job with our solar installation. I won't even start on the company, EnFin, that GHS works through for the loan. That was another shady operation that was next to impossible to get a hold of. I agree with other reviewers that the 5 star reviews have got to be fake. Listen to the true 1star reviews before signing a contract with this scam of a company. They have the worst customer service, period. I encourage all the homeowners to contact the Stateboard if they keep delaying to do their work or pay their contractor. It took them 1.5 years to complete the installation process. The project managers were changed three times, and each time, it was up to me to actively try reaching out to the manager, only to find them unresponsive to my messages. Consequently, I had to call customer service. I felt as though I were the main project manager working for them, rather than being the customer. Currently, I am still attempting to contact them to finalize the monitoring process, but now I can't even get through to customer service. Don't get me started on the project managers. The easiest way to go solar by far, they don't send pushy sales people to my home( I had two other sales guy who was in my home over two hours from other solar companies ). Virtual easy quote , I sent them my bill via email they responded in less then an hour with a proposal, I met over zoom with them and they showed me the savings , the products ( Panasonic and Enphase). From there they just submitted plans online and in less then two weeks I was installed. Very high tech approach, making it easy to go solar. My solar panels on my Tarzana home looks great. read more

They don't actually do the work, they contract with installers. We live in a remote location and Green Homes has refused to pay the delivery charges. The delivery people have tried calling them to no avail. We have tried calling them without success. Naturally, the delivery people want their money but we already paid Green Homes for delivery. The delivery company is a small company and the only company in this tiny location. They installed a solar systems on my roof two years ago. The process was not smooth. In the beginning they claimed it would take two months the most but it ended up it took six months. Then the contractor who installed the panel for me said they did not pay him and threatened to put a lean on my house. I have to chase GHS for a couple months until the matter settled. As you know last winter the rainfall was heavy. I started to notice there is a leak on my roof. GHS claimed they warranty my roof for 25 years at the area where the solar panels were installed. I took the photos and showed them where the leak is on June 2nd. After that I was never be able to contact them. Two months has passed. Nothing happened. Don't ever pick this company. Came across this company because I was looking for solar power for backup during outages and to save money. After researching, we contacted Green Home for more info on their solar equipment and support. They were helpful and explained everything. We were able to work together to design a system for our home. It took time to get permissions, but the installation team set it up in a day. We had some small issues, but Green home systems quickly helped us fix them. After 9 months, the solar system works great. It generates power during the day, charges our batteries, and provides power at night. We even have extra power we can give back to the grid which saves us a little bit of money. This is worst company I have ever seen in my entire life. We need to fix our roof so we asked GHS to come to remove the panels and install back later. It took us 4 months to get someone from their office to respond to our request and we had to go their office and find a guy name Maor which is claimed to be and owner of the company. We have paid 3000 usd which 50% according to our agreement another 50% will be paid after they reinstall the solar panel back. Our roof is 90% done and we need them to reinstall the solar panel back so we can finish the roof. We called a lady name Diana who should be a project manager to ask about the schedule and despite chasing her everyday, she never ever book a schedule so we had to contact their installer directly for the installation schedule and figure out that they never paid their installer even after they finished their removal. Their installer informed us that GHS always made later payment and he did not trust them so we would wait until he received a payment. We contacted Maor again and chased him everyday to get him pay his installer. He responded with multiple excuses and promised to send a check to an installer but up until now, an installer did not receive anything. I'm very suprised about their working attitude, manner and moral. How can they provide this kind of service and suprised that they are still in the business without being sued or banned. Please don't ever choose this company. you will regret just like we do. I'm pretty sure 100% that all the 4,5 stars reviews are fake because their works were always delayed even from the first time they came to install the solar panels. read more

Green Home Systems was my fifth quote. Their price was comparable with my best quote and the equipments they use are highly rated. So I went with them. This is a very organized company with stage by stage process and payment after each stage is completed. They also called me periodically to give me an update of the progress. After the installation was completed, I have a cellphone app to monitor my solar panel activities. It has been 6 months. With the solar panels i can see the energy credits from the excess electricity generated when there was sun. In the winter months when it was frequently raining, i still get a bill, but the net balance is negative. Edison keeps track of the energy balance. So it looks like I will have more energy produced than my consumption. I would recommend this company. With the rising electricity cost and the trend of electric cars, solar panel is a good investment. And we are helping to improve the global warming problem. This company keeps bugging me several times a week about buying a system from them even though I already bought one from them. Then they began emailing me this year repeatedly saying I need to update my system to 5g. They scheduled appointments with me, sent links for the meetings and never showed. I emailed everyone I have email addresses for about the 5g claims and only one response back stated that no appointment was ever made. The solar works. I still spend around $1,000 or so a year on electricity though. The true up charges of $700+ due in February is a nasty aspect they don't really tell you about. The power company estimates it is less than $20 until the December bill comes out and then they start tacking on the additional digits. The contractor who installed the system was very professional and did a nice job. He gets five stars. Wish I could say the same about the rest of my experiences with Green Home Systems; they're in negative at this point and don't seem to care. They just keep texting me and asking why I don't want to buy a system from them. read more

It took them weeks to acknowledge that there was an issue and now it is taking them weeks to find someone to come out and fix the system. It shouldn't be this difficult to schedule a repairman. 2/8 - DIY Solar Design. Little known fact, but Green Home offers this service - In our case required it. We did design most of it. A Green Home site survey is actually just a Google Earth photograph of the roof of the house. That saves them the cost of actually sending someone out to the house to inspect the condition or construction of the roof or the floor plan. Oh sure, that can cause some problems like missing the fact that our house has two floors and we don't actually have the electrical service panel above the stove in the kitchen, but why pay somebody to look at it when you can fake a pretty good diagram? That's where the opportunity to design the system myself came in. I used Word (because it appears to be Green Home's design tool of choice too) to put the electric meter and service panel where they belonged and put the transfer switch for the solar panels near the service panel instead of behind the stove in the kitchen. I would give zero star if I can! I have to pay both my utility company as usual and Green home systems every month as of today due to their unresponsiveness in arranging final walk-through of the installation with the city. They simply don't answer any call after installing solar panels on my roof ( I called hundreds of times). But in order to use the solar system, city needs to approve it. It is Green Home System's responsibility to set up the walk through. They never did it (it has been 3 months), and I can't use the solar power!!! Customer support doesn't exist. I called my project manager, the sale lady and customer reprehensive. Each of them responded once, promising a solution in some time. But nobody ever picked up the phone again. It has been 3 months. So, think twice before you select Green Home Systems. They appear VERY professional in luring you into buying their system. But they will ditch you right after like the way they treated me. Also, don't trust any sale incentive. They still owe me $1000 sale incentive they wrote in my contract. They just don't pick up the damn call. read more

Tried to get a quote from them, after lots of "We are going to blow your mind with how much money you're going to save" and "We are such a legitimate company and we are amazing" I was asked to provide some details before they would quote me for any work. Other than obvious questions like "Can you send a detailed report of your electrical usage" they began asking for my credit score and income per year. I asked why they needed the income and credit information as I would be paying for the system outright. They pressed me more to get the info for me, at which point I made it clear that I do not need to provide that information to them and if they were not okay with that then I would move on. They dropped the subject and said we could move forward with a quote. The next day I received an email stating they need my credit and income to give a quote. Here is a word for word quote from the email: "I need a ballpark annual income-to calculate your federal tax credits, Fed Gov provides you 30% reimbursement on Taxes-calculated by income and system and solar law-we calculate the amount we have more than 1 option on everything." This statement is incorrect, the credit is 30% of the cost of the system and has nothing to do with income. I asked them what "solar law" they are referring to, since maybe they know better than I do? At which point, they said we "are not going to be able to work together". Sounds like I dodged a bullet on this one. Lot's of red flags from the get go with them, sure maybe they have installed plenty of systems that work great, but they lied to me about what is required, so I can only imagine how the install/support would go as well. read more
