I have a contract with this company since March/23 . We already got the plan approval. I have paid them all the deposits that it is in the contract. I signed this contract with Robbi Hebert on (3/20/23 ) and know after almost 8 months, he is bridging the contract. and dos not want.to do the job,($38500.00) because his in-house roofer is not available, and he claims that the roof job prices has gone up since we signed the contract and costing him more than what he thought!?? They want me to pay another $6000.00 on top of the contract amount or if i dont pay they will not honor the contract. I have no choice but taking the to court and looking for another solar company. DO NOT TRUST this company! They don't even honor their contract. They still have my 3500.00 deposit and im not sure that they even want to refund my deposit. read more

I signed up with GHS in March of 2023 for a roof replacement and solar. The communication with GHS is terrible they do not want anything in writing, I will send them email's and will get a phone call back days or weeks later. The roofing project was a total debacle. I have a 2000 sqft house and the roof took 25 days to tear-off and install. I told GHS during the contract signing I wanted a licensed roofer, no problem they told me we only use licened professionals. I signed the contract on March 15th and was told I would have the solar turnd on by July.  The roof installation started June 5th and ended on July 10th 2023. In the months leading upto the roofing project started I asked to see the roofers license, GHS told me they will get it to me. During the 25 days of roofing I asked almost daily for the license, silence for days from GHS and when they did responsed, I was told they will get it to me. The demo of the roof was taking so long (10 days) and performed so unprofessionaly that I asked for a different roofer before the demo was completed, GHS told me no. When the roof was finally finished I performed a quick walk through of the roof and found many exposed nails. I called and emailed GHS about the nails, no reply for weeks. With the first rain the roof leaked is 3 locations. GHS finally returned my email's once I sent in pictures of the leaks. I was still asking for the roofers license GHS finally admitted, Louis the roofer does not have a license. GHS offered to send out a licensed roofer to inspect the roof, 5 minutes of looking at the roof he told me the roof was installed so poorly the entire roof will need to be replaced. GHS told me they will replace the roof however,  I have been waiting over 2 months nothing has happened. I am done with GHS, I asked for the contract to be canceled, they agreed. Three weeks later and I still do not have a signed release for the contract. GHS has a revolving door with employees, during the roofing project I had 3 different Project Managers over the 8 months with GHS I have had a total of 5 Project Managers. GHS is very sloppy with the paperwork. The permit they pulled with the city for the roof does not have the correct roofer listed. GHS did not follow-up with the city for the inspection of the roof, no inspection was performed. Edison has sent me 6 non-conforming notices for the solar requiring amendments to the solar array. I am extremely unhappy with GHS because this project has gone on for so long that I will need to find a new solar installer and I will most likely lose the NEM2 status. Almost 8 months with this incompetent company and I am left with a leaking roof and no solar. Do not use GHS!!! Worst home improvement project ever. read more

I was recommended by a friend who had a very positive experience with GHS. I looked at other companies, but went with this company. The reviews seem very mixed, but it seems like it depends on the region. I'm in the Los Angeles area so this review is more about their regional office here. The set up and process were done in a timely manner, although it did take longer with LADWP's account system and so to get this PTO (permission to operate) established did take a while. The length of time is understandable and I was in contact with my project manager regularly (Abner). Then something happened a few weeks after where I got switched to another manager and things from there went bad. With the new manager (Evelyn), she finished the steps in establishing the PTO w/ LADWP. Now I had to complete this first step of initiating the machine and connecting it to the machine's cloud after turning it on. Although initially confusing at first, I was informed by the solar machine's company (Enphase) that I had to contact the installer so that they can complete the subsequent steps so that monitoring the system can be established. The manager and I had been in contact a few times, but then after a week or so, communication from her end stopped. I left a voicemail and email. After a few more weeks, I called the info number and email (info@greenhomesystems.com), but it's been a week and I have not heard a word. I emailed the sales rep and, thankfully, he replied and forward the email to customer service. Yet I have not heard from the company. It's been 3 weeks since my last contact with my project manager and about one month and a week or so that my system's monitoring system is still not up and running. I'm not sure what's going on with this company and why the sudden silence from the people that I'm supposed to work with. I'm guessing that it does have to do something with these subcontractors that they hire? Not sure. Again, this is for the Los Angeles area. I didn't mind the length of time it took to get these panels established, but I'm not a fan of no communication even after leaving voicemails and email communication to your info and customer service, especially with the panel system still not up and running fully. read more

Absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with. We paid $45,000 for a solar system that does not work. They refuse to take our calls and NEVER return our messages. Green home systems installed our solar, and their installer was very knowledgeable and efficient and had a great crew! A couple of months after the installation we found out we were missing something from the system and I contacted Gren Home, well, it took a bit of time to reach them, once I did, I was assured I would have everything I needed. They came through quickly and efficiently and saw to it that everything was perfect! Our system works great and I'm a happy and satisfied customer, and thank them for responding promptly and addressing our issu. read more

The responding manager is a fraud and a liar. The project took almost 9 months not 4-5. It was riddled with poor communication, and subpar contractors because you subcontract to providers you have never worked with. What a terrible company. NO one ever answers the phone. Always a voicemail but never a person available. Yet they charge THOUSANDS of dollars for their expertise! So many complaints against them with the BBB. I know personally that they don't even pay THE COMPANYS owns bills. I would NEVER EVER use them for my home. Wish I could give them a 0... have had this solar system for under a year and the system stopped working 6 months ago. We just found out it hasn't been working and every time we call to get ahold of someone they transfer us to "someone who can help", which goes to a mailbox, and then when we call back we either get sent directly to mail, or the line is no longer in service. 1/50 times calling we got someone on the phone for an actual conversation. He was going "trying to get someone to look at it" and said he would call us back. That obviously didn't happen. Have not heard back and that was at least a week ago. read more

This review is for the Los Angeles San Fernando Valley Branch. Avoid, avoid, avoid this company if you can! Issues: - Employee turnover which makes it impossible to have a consistent single point of contact. - The actual employees are great as long as they remember to return your calls and e-mails. They sub-contract out all the actual work, they're merely middlemen project managers to get all the pieces put together to get it installed. They take the subcontractors quote, and add on their fees, not the greatest value. I personally have been trying to get solar panels re-installed for over a half year now (they were removed for a new roof). I've worked with three different people, had dozens of calls with them, even more emails, and have had all three points of contact eventually ghost me. The phone numbers I used to communicate with this company have all been disconnected, and emails go into a black box. I don't know what's going on, but they seem very pushy to quickly accept a deposit or the entire amount for an install, and then proceed to ignore you. The level of customer service at this company is by far the worst I've ever experienced. read more

I am leaving yet another review for this train wreck of a company. Our project should have been completed almost a year ago, yet we are still waiting for something simple to be installed. They never paid our installer (they actually owe him for 4 other accounts as well, tens of thousands of dollars in fact) We have had one final part to be installed for months, and at this point I am about to YouTube it and figure out how to do it myself. We have gone through more than 5 or 6 project managers. The most recent being an Andrew Sherman who called me on November 6th and sent me a follow up email and text regarding getting the CTs installed and that he would be in contact with me "soon". I emailed him for a follow up on November 20th and again on December 4th. It is now December 9th and I am giving up. I can only hope and pray our panels never have issues, as we will never get the service promised to us when signing up with GHS. Even with a $1,000 bonus for referring someone to them, I would NEVER refer a single soul. Not even my worst enemy. I'm sure "Barry" will contact me with empty promises to get things finished, yet again, and nothing will happen. read more

First of all, I do not believe in writing reviews that do not tell the entire story. That is why I have waited 2 years to write a review of Green Solar Technologies (now Green Home Systems). On January 27, 2021 I signed a contract with Green Solar Technologies to have 35 LG 340 watt solar panels and 2 Solaredge inverters installed on my house. Lesson number 1, don't expect a quick installation. An engineer came out to the house to ensure the roof was good enough to support the panels and the shingles were in good shape so that the panels would not need to be removed in just a couple of years to re-shingle the house. Then the approval process begins. Local code approval must be obtained and the electric company needs to approve the plan. Lesson number 2, Green Solar subcontracts the work. If Green Solar doesn't have an electrician immediately available, they must contract with one. This took several weeks and on May 12th the supplies were delivered and installation was scheduled for May 18th. On the night of May 17th the electrician's wife decided to go into labor 3 weeks early, so installation was delayed a few more days. Lesson number 3, the electric company runs on their own schedule and they have no intention of rushing things. Another 2 weeks went by before the power company came out to look at the installation and install the net meter. You cannot turn the system on until they give final approval. Lesson 4, don't expect everything to work the first time. 3 of the panel optimizers were bad and needed to be replaced. We found this out on June 17th. Only 32 out of 35 panels were producing electricity. After numerous delays, the 3 replacement optimizers arriver on July 29th ,2021 and on August 9th the electrician installed them. Lesson 5, I have West Penn Power as my electric provider. In Pennsylvania, you can select a different company for power generation but must stay with West Penn Power for distribution. If you do that, West Penn Power will pay you a lower price for the electricity you send to the grid. I needed to go back to West Penn Power for both generation and distribution before they paid me the same amount of money per kilowatt I sent to the grid as I paid when I drew power from the grid. 2022 was the first full year that the system produced power. On average, the system produces 1,100 KW per month (more in the summer, less in the winter). The panels and inverters that Green Solar uses are top notch and the 25 year guarantee is one of the best in the business. When one of the optimizers went out last year, they notified me and had an electrician come out to replace it. The Solaredge app is fantastic. I can see what my panels are producing in real time and the app keeps track of production history. In Pennsylvania (and some other states), we can sell our Solar Renewable energy credits (1 credit equals 1 megawatt of generation). I use SRECTRADE to sell my credits. It took a little while to set up the account, but it is well worth it. Bottom line, I am very pleased with the system Green Solar installed. Don't expect a quick installation though, since a lot of the delays are not Green Solar's fault. It would be nice if they had more electricians in the installation area to prevent delays, if Green Solar fixes this issue, I would give them 5 stars. read more

Green home systems was quick to get in touch with us when we inquired about installing solar in our home. we initially looked into solar to be able to save money on our electric bill. after multiple failed installation attempts we had given up on installing a system at all. this company was persistent and after almost a year did find someone to install our system. Bit confused by the generic reply - I still don't have solar (more than 6 months now?) and no one at the company cares. Inspection was scheduled - installer never showed up so the inspector wouldn't do the inspection. Wiring is a mess. They damaged my dry wall and didn't say anything - when asked about it they denied even working in that area even though one of their lines runs right where it is damaged and says CAUTION SOLAR. And they also broke part of my breaker. Total disaster. read more

Lets start with the good. The panels look great and the system works well. My energy bills are almost nothing... However, I cannot recommend this company for the following reasons: 1. The stucco touch up paint did not match, and promises were made to rectify it. 2. I was told that any damage to the roof tiles would be taken care of, and when broken tiles were discovered later on I was told these would be replaced. They have been helpful with problems we have had. My complaint is that I had them installed in July they did not get it correct until December of that year. Now they do say they will reimburse me for the payments that I had to make while I was not able to actually use the panels but I did not get anything for the missed credits I should have gotten during the most productive part of the year. Now that they have been up for most for the beginning of December 2023 we have not had a problem with them working. GHS has been in contact through the issues but there was about a month and a half that I did not hear from them nor did they respond to messages or calls that I made to get anything going. I have had some difficulty reaching someone from Green Home on several occasions, but when I dothe are very nice and answer my questions. I haven't been able to use my system yet, because Ameren ( The electric company) needed some paperwork that I wasnt told they needed and they still need to swap out the meter. I signed up with the company looking at the Forbes reviews, I was helped by Harold Sheilds in sales who stated that we would have the system installed within 90 days. He did recommend that we get a new roof because the roof is aging and that the solar panels life is about 25 years. I did not need a new roof but went ahead and took care of that thankfully I did not finance with their company, which is what he was recommending and hoping that I would do, that was back in September 2023. My township has certain requirements however they do have workarounds which have to be filed by the installer/ installing company. They have given me a runaround for the past nine months and have refused to take care of business with multiple excuses and no concrete work being done project manager Erika Duart is not capable of returning any calls on time but she also has no idea what she is doing or is interested in taking care of business. I'm down $25,000 for the roof plus the money that I gave them which is about $9000 , Harold told me today that he cannot care less if I do not wanna care business with them. It is a lousy company which is out there to scam. People take their money and not do anything. They were being offered cash for the services and obviously wanted to be happy with just a down payment on almost a $60,000 system system. Horrible customer service. Unable to ask representative what exactly they are sell unless I set up appointment and give them specifications of my home. I was really interest didn't want to waste my time and there's if it was right product but I was unable to get past the phone answering person. He had no information on what they are sell or just refused to say without an appointment. Do not use Green Home Systems for your solar needs. this company has the absolute worst customer service ever. they do no return phone calls. texts, or emails in a timely manner, if at all. nothing that was promised to me by the sales team, project managers, customer relations and the financial department actually panned out. they don't care about the customer, just the job. I had to call and get GHS to get my permits from the county. the county told me that the permits have been ready for days, after multiple corrections were needed. It took GHS weeks to pick them up- blamed on an outside courier GHS put the wrong name and address on my NEM 2.0, which caused a month delay. the install was supposed to be a single day. it took a week because the crew called out sick or only worked half days GHS promised according to the contract signed that I would rece a $1,500 rebate for following through with the project. I was given PTO in October 2022. I still have not received my rebate check. I am told repeatedly that I would receive it within weeks. It's now mid-March and I continue to get the run around about the check. It's been months not weeks. This is a solar company that will leave you in the dark. Go elsewhere. read more
