The food and atmosphere is very good. The service is good. We enjoy going there the many times we have been there.

First time here and it was great! The service from start to finish amazing. We got to have Jeff as our server, he was absolutely amazing and very attentive. Although super busy the wait was short. Ambiance was good for any occasion I took my son for a mommy and me date later my mom joined us. The food was so good we order an everything pizza, boneless honey bbq wings, bread sticks, salad, and my son a small sub ... did we eat it all not but It was so good. I use to be a regular at the original GLP in Madison Heights but this was the first time at the Berkley location. The down to earth friendly service is what I came to expect from GLP and the submarine with their unique Italian coleslaw, pizza like cheese bread and hamburgers were excellent! I have eaten here on a couple of occasions. Each time the pizzas were satisfactory. However yesterday I ordered a carryout and was deeply disappointed. The Berkley location was very busy with an event in the downtown area. However the pizza we received for take out was downright terrible. They seem to have forgotten to include the pizza sauce on the pie. So obviously it was just terrible disappointment. Because of the volume of business and the length of time we waited for the pizza we chose not to return to the restaurant and get it remade or what ever they may have offered. Very disappointed However. I was really looking forward to a good pizza available in my neighborhood. It seems I will have to continue to go to other surrounding communities to enjoy a good pizza. read more

The pizza is excellent, just like they claim. The service is horribly slow and inattentive. Also, they charge .75¢ for a teeny side of ranch that they don't even fill. I find places that charge for sauce to be cheap; you can't spare some sauce, man? Anyways. Probably won't ever return. read more

We order pizza delivery from this GL location probably 2-3 times per month, and it's ALWAYS solid. Everything is high quality at GL, their deals are pretty good and delivery is always a little early. Because we're fatties, we usually get the XL deep dish and a bread - this way we have leftovers for a day or two. Once or twice we'd felt the cheese was a little under-baked on top (probably due to the sheer size of the beast), but we simply ask for it to be slightly more well-done and it's PERFECT every time. Highly recommend. If you're going to spring for quality delivery, GL is your place. read more

Wanting a sandwich, my husband and I decided to try this place. The sandwich choices were good and the prices were right. Unfortunately, the Lantern Chicken Wrap was not on the list of choices when we placed our order online (it was on the menu that was on their website, but not on the take out order menu). That was okay as I had been debating between that and the Italian sub.........you guessed it.......I got the sub. And I'm glad I did. It was love at first bite. The sesame seeded bun was toasted and I think that is why it was such a winner with me. The meats and cheese were evenly placed on the bun and their "famous" slaw was piled on top. I'm not sure what was in the slaw but it was amazing, a little tart and a little sweet. My husband got their Smokehouse burger. Hubby said it was good, however he felt it had a bit too much barbeque sauce on it. In the future he will either ask that the sauce be used sparingly or just simply get it on the side. Hubby got onion rings with his burger. They were quite crispy and a fair amount for the money. I got tater tots with my sandwich. I love tater tots. These ones however sucked big time. They were quite plentiful and I got all excited when I saw them. However they just didn't taste right. They looked crispy, but they weren't. I think it is entirely possible that they had been cooked previously and then re-fried when we ordered. They were chewy rather than crispy and they went right straight into the garbage. What a waste. I hate wasting food. I'll probably try the fries next time......maybe with the Lantern Chicken Wrap if it becomes available again. read more

They have a nice patio with plenty of tables to eat at. The inside is really nice as well. The food was great and I especially loved that they had a kids menu with multiple options to choose from for meals. All the dipping sauces were delicious as well! This used to be Sila's..a place i went to since i was a kid. They had good pizza. We were sad to see it close. That said, Green Lantern has made us not even miss it. Their standard amazing pizza, a modern vibe but comfortsble. Very casual. Great staff and outside dining. I have always like GL (I live near their 12 & John R location) so seeing this place take dhape has been good. Great staff took good care of us and you have to try their candied bacon! The pizza is just as great as their other locations. read more

Just ordered takeout. We ordered lantern bread, the Italian sub, wings, and Greek salad. The good- boneless wings The bad- lettuce for salad tasted like plastic. Not edible. We just moved in very close to here and walked across the street to try it out right away. The waitress was awesome, food was great, and we like the set up with the garage door, open windows, and bar area. My fiancé and i got pizza and a Greek salad. My friends got salads, wraps, and apps. Good looking new place that used to be Silas. They need a bigger parking lot! They must be good because they were crowded. We were a party of 6 and sat outside, because no place inside for 6. It was a nice day, so no problem. Bussers or helpers seemed to bring out the food to help the waitresses. I had a cobb salad, good, but kinda basic, nothing spectacular but not bad. I've always heard great things about GL pizza from friends . Was in the area and saw this location was relatively new and wanted to give it a try . The set up is great if your looking to watch a sporting event. The bar is open and TVs are everywhere. We ordered honey bbq wings and seasoned fries to start. The bone in wings were good, exactly what you would expect from a place known for their pizza. The seasoned fries were hot crispy and great to dip in ranch. ( the ranch here is great!) we ordered a medium original round pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms and jalapeño . We asked for well done as I like my pizza crispy. The cheese and sauce have great flavor and you can tell the quality is substantially better than a regular pizza chain. The toppings were loaded up and the crust was extra crunchy . I came here on a Thursday night and it was hopping! They told us it would be a 20ish minute wait and our table was ready in about 5 minutes! We were seated at table toward the back; but I was hungry so no worries there. We started with an antipasto salad it was just okay, the meats were cut really thick and it just didn't do much for me. After the salad course we had cheesy bread and a round pizza. The cheesy bread was great, but the pizza was lacking. I prefer a fluffy crust and this one was very thin. Next time I'll try their deep dish pizza out and I'll probably try a different salad. I love the interior here, they did a great job remodeling! read more

This was my first visit to the restaurant. Its spacious with lots of tables and chairs so bring the family. Yes, this is a family style restaurant and it looks like someone had a food fight at the table next to me. I take it that it was a child having its way with their pizza and salad. We were seated quickly. We ordered an extra-large pizza half The Everything Pizza and The Meat Lovers Pizza. The pizza arrived hot and steaming out the oven. One of the best parts is the cheese string that was lingering in the air as I grabbed for a slice. My side was the Everything Pizza which consisted of cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers , onions, ground beef, sausage, mild peppers rings, bacon and black olives. This was one good pizza and it came with the buttery pan pizza crunchy buttery crust (like 1985 Pizza Hut Pan Pan Pizza used to be and taste). I was in pizza heaven. The Meat Lovers consisted cheese, pepperoni, ham, ground beef, Italian sausage and bacon. It was also delicious. Our waiter was friendly and helped out with suggestions, keep our drinks filled and kept giving us constant attention. I notice that they are often cleaning between customers. They do have alcoholic drinks for adults available for purchase. I will return to get some more of that delicious pizza and you should give them a try! read more

The waitress took 40 minutes to get us our soft drinks. Upon bringing our drinks, she forgot to grab 2 drinks, and walked away to grab them before she gave anyone straws. Then she came back 5 minutes later with 1 drink and still forgot one of ours from our table, and she walked away again before our table could tell her. She returned a third time without her drink. When I asked her for a refill, she became passive aggressive for me asking and slammed 4 lemonades in front of me. I'm not the type to be rude to wait staff, typically understanding and respectful. But, if I wasn't here for family, I would've walked out. And this is all just for soft drinks. Absolutely ridiculous. Besides the service, food is always good here. recommend carry out. read more

Happy to have this location join the Berkley community! The bar/restaurant vibes are hip and cool but at the same time are a nod to the history of this establishment. The bar area has many TVs. They weren't playing sound for games if that is important to you. The ambiance was cool and causal, would be good for a group outing. Good happy hour deals and love that they do late night HH as well ($5 apps, $1 off drinks) most days of the week (see photo). Get the square pizza!! You have to at a place like this! Pizza quality - 6/10 (SMALL size ROUND shape) Why - the crust wasn't crispy at all. The pizza seemed very sloppy and it was cut into 4 pieces but not cut well or very close to symmetrical. The topping tasted great (pepperoni) the cheese seems average at best. The bread portion of the pizza wasn't crisp at all but rather chewier in nature. Cheese bread - 4/10 (SMALL SIZE) Why- nothing great here. Below standard in my opinion. However, they did have almost a nice crisp to it. Almost. The dipping sauce tasted like you would get anywhere else. Staff - 8/10 Why- they were young and doing the best they could. It was VERY busy on Sunday afternoon on 2/23/20 at 5:15pm. I got take out. I'll come back and try the square pizza and update my rating but, until then, this is my first impression. read more

First visit to the new Berkley location with two families on what was a very busy Saturday evening. In short, the service and food were absolutely terrific. Candied bacon was really tasty -not too sweet at all. Antipasto salad with house dressing was well stocked with meat and cheese. So good! Cheese bread was on point and the round BBQ Chicken pizza and square custom pizza we had were outstanding. There were some nice looking sandwiches and apps on the menu as well. Have to try some next time. Impossible to not roll with classic pizza and antipasto with visit #1. The manager dropped by the table and confessed to a mistake being made on one of our pizzas. They were in process of re making both so they would come out hot and fresh together and we could take home the original pizzas. Wow. That was nice! Honestly, we would not have noticed the delay had he not said anything - no doubt a high level customer service gesture that was noted and very much appreciated. I recently had the pleasure of dining at the new Green Lantern in Berkley. I was so impressed with everything. First the pizza was amazing. The staff was on top of eveything. They went above and beyond to make sure that me and my grandchildren were taken care of. The build out of the restaurant was so incredible. The newly built bar will be a great asset to Berkley. Thank you so much for the soft opening. I truly look forward to Monday opening at 4pm. This place is a must go to! V read more

In brightest day and blackest night... So this restaurant has nothing to do with the DC Superhero, The Green Lantern. A pity. I met a few friends here for dinner on Sunday night, and passed it a couple times because their logo is now a circular GLP and no mention of Green Lantern. I was shocked at how busy the place was. Spacious, clean, new. Families all around, and several big screen TVs for the hungry sports fan. Loved it. This is the place to come for a big game and commune with other fans. Hopefully MSU fans, but I can be forgiving. The pizza was fine. I would recommend ordering extra cheese and sauce, but even so it was just fine. The anti pasto was delicious. And my friends seemed to enjoy the alcohol. And nowhere any evidence of a Green Lantern. read more

Had been past this popular pizza place with the large green patio umbrellas several times. They offer square,round and thin crust pizzas with a neighborhood vibe. They do a large takeout business and are good at eat in. We went on a Friday and though they didn't take reservations we didn't wait long but it had rained this day. Our server Jen was on her A game. We got drinks right away and options for sharing pizzas. I had a small thin crust and had enough for a snack and breakfast. (Yes, I was ostracized over anchovies). The thick crust pizzas were jammed with toppings and the drinks were good. They have several locations and I think you can never have enough pizza options. read more
