Went to the Green Lantern Berkley for the first time since it opened. Just what you would expect, very nice, very clean, food is the typical GL quality with some interesting new items on the menu. I got the Lantern Bread and a Medium Pizza and it was just as if I had gotten it from the original location, amazing. The nice thing is it's right here in my home town rather than having to trek to Madison Hgts. What can anyone say about the Green Lantern that countless awards and tons of positive reviews haven't already said. Really like the restaurant in Berkley! Sometimes you just want to go OUT for pizza, not just a carry out. When we lost Pasquale's, we needed a new go to restaurant. There are a few in the area that are good, Shields, Bigalora (a bit expensive and crowded though), but we prefer Green Lantern. We really like their round pizza and their salads are great, and they have gluten-free for my wife. I only wish they had fresh basil for our pizzas! Kudos to Green Lantern in Berkley we were looking for a place to celebrate my father's 91st birthday with his 94-year-old brother and my granddaughter who is under one! When calling around they said they had a tent & even went in the tent to make sure it would be warm enough-when we arrived on a Tuesday they totally accommodated us even though the tent was not open they opened it warmed it made us feel welcome and we had fabulous food and wonderful service our server was Angela and she went above board to make everyone especially the birthday boy happy!! read more

Ordered a simple pizza and salad online. Showed up at the time the website said it would be ready. Waited in the lobby for 55 minutes, with the staff telling me every 15 minutes that my order was "almost ready." About 30 people came in, waited, and then got their food in the time I was waiting. The final time I checked on my food's status, the server told me "we need to remake your order." No apology or explanation. They didn't offer any solution to fix the problem. Thank goodness I hadn't paid yet and was able to leave. read more

Super dissatisfied with the service here yesterday. We ordered for pick up yesterday and after I paid I waited what seemed long enough for my order until I asked again for my food and the whole time my pizza was ready. The Caesar salad we ordered with Caesar dressing turned out to be Italian ( we found out when we got home). The chicken breast we ordered was more like 2 strips of grilled chicken. There seems to be no manager presence and the place is ran by younger teenagers who need guidance. The hostess was not a cheerful greater and was making a lanyard while we were given a non enthusiastic hi. The hostess was also wearing pink crocs. I understand people have the right to express themselves however I just don't believe crocs to be professional in a work place. The pizza was great and delicious! Service definitely needs work. Just to put this out there. The 2 star is because of the service. Not the food or atmosphere. This place actually has awesome food all around. Pizza, cheese bread, and the quesadilla believe it or not are all great. But the service sucked. The waitress was clearly not happy. She had an attitude. Rushed through her interactions with us, barely checked in on us, barely acknowledged the other person I was eating with. We were offended to say the least. Live right down the street and have been waiting for this place to open. I LOVE the decor, they did a great job giving the place a cool vibe. They have a very large take out area, which is awesome. The parking lot is very small, deceivingly small. When we pulled in, it looked like the place was packed, but once we got inside there were still a few tables open and spots at the bar. The staff is very nice and attentive. The pizza was amazing, as usual. Best of all, is this location has the Octopie! This is our absolute favorite, since every piece is a corner. I ate here for dinner a few weekends ago, I treated my sister and her friend- customer service was horrendous. Most of the reviews I post are positive- but this was noteworthy how poor the experience we had was! I'm disappointed because Green Latern is well known and this was our first (more than likely last) experience here. The food was okay, truly nothing special or anything to be excited to go back for. I understand and empathize that establishments get busy so I always take that into consideration, however- our waitress whether she dropped the food to our table or we requested what we desired, was extremely agitated. There were multiple occasions where she genuinely ignored us/would not look at our table as she provided service to all surrounding tables. Very odd experience. It would be fair to say she was simply having a bad day but she was happily serving those around us? 2 stars for the fact the order came out as requested (no errors). So last week we got burgers from GL and they were pretty good, the fries were actually my favorite part. We really had no complaints, but today we got two large pizzas and a salad which ended up being $48. The price isn't an issue, but the pizza was not my favorite at all, we tried round and square and neither were anything special or memorable. The sauce wasn't very flavorful at all. Why does it say soup of the day (seasonal) if it's not seasonal! I asked for soup of the day and it was chicken noodle. Chicken noodle is the most iconic soup ever. It is not season it is year round. If it was a soup I don't like but is seasonal, I would not be leaving this review because I can't control the soup of the day.
