Food and service were amazing. I stopped in with my wife and kids. This location is inside the Simmons bank building in downtown LR. The smell immediately put a smile on my face and made my mouth water. We went with the coconut curry added chicken, and chili broccoli, chicken 65 with chili broccoli and a chicken quesadilla for our child. Be sure to get the side of garlic na'an. "I wanted to wrap myself up in it when it came out!" We had a couple of mango Lassies(smoothies) which were a new delight. Everything was delicious, the wait was short, and it was a clean delicious filling experience. Worth the trip so we will definitely be coming back when we can!! Thank you for a great meal! read more

I have been here several times for lunch and it's always a good experience. While I usually get the salad bowl, which is excellent, today I decided to try a sandwich. There are 3 different homemade breads to choose from and then three different meats. I decided to go with the ham and cheese with homemade chips. The sandwich was one of the best I have ever had. The bread was incredible, the ham was full of flavor and pepper jack cheese was spicy. The chips were pretty good too. I also had a fresh made oatmeal raisin cookie that was excellent. There is also a great, fresh salad bar with every vegetable you can think of, there's a grill with made to order hamburgers, etc. (the sweet potato fries are my fave) and then there's a daily special (most times under 600 calories). I am surprised there is so little buzz about Green Leaf. Yes, on the surface it's just a corporate institutional lunch room but at it's heart it is trendy chef driven food. Located on the first floor of the Blue Cross Building, when you first enter it does have that institutional vibe but move closer and check out your dining options. A create your salad station, not a salad bar where your ingredients are fresh tossed into a salad. A stir fry station where again you select your ingredients to be served over rice. Next to the stir fry station is the "cafeteria" portion of your dining experience. A choice of meats and vegetables. On my visit the meat choices were pulled pork, smoked sausage and chicken. The vegetables were roasted beets with rosmary, roasted acorn squash with pecans, baked beans and collard greens. Over the side they have fresh made pizzas and a deli counter to order sandwiches. The layout is tad confusing for the newcomer, for example: fountain drinks are off the left past the checkout area along with silverware, napkins and such. You bus your own table taking your tray to a lunchroom style window in the back corner near the fountain drinks. Don't be fooled by the somewhat institutional feel, this is a high quality lunch spot with interesting food choices. The setup allows time to have a rushed meal or take your time and watch the traffic go by on 7th Street. They offer free wifi. read more

There are healthy options to choose from and the menu is different every day, however, it's pricey for what you get. I stopped going in for that reason. Was also annoyed that the discount they give to BCBS employees was always extended, no questions asked, to my older male coworkers (not BCBS employees). Prices seem a lot more fair with the discount and probably where they should be at. read more

I got lunch today from their food truck set up on Capital St. I had the grilled flatbread pizza with side salad, and the pizza was TO DIE FOR!! The marinara was so delicious, better than local legend Bruno's, and that's saying something! It was the best $9 I've spent in awhile, if I could buy a bottle or 5 of that marinara sauce I would, just delicious! Side salad was great too, very fresh. Stopped in Little Rock on way home To TX. Thought we would give this a try We felt so lucky! I had a sliced pork loin plate with cabbage and artichoke hearts.The servings were large and everything seasoned deliciously. The cafe was immaculate and not too busy at 2pm. The best part was the extremely reasonable price of $6.50. This is a bit tricky to find, being on the ground floor of an office building. It was packed with chicken, bacon, ranch, tomatoes & lettuce. I opted to have mine grilled and it was delicious & fresh. I also ordered the Broccoli cheese soup -the chef added extra cheese on top- it was also very fresh and delicious. My co-worker ordered the Cobb salad- she said it was so fresh tasting and delicious. Five stars for the cafeteria style option downtown. It is cool that they have several options like a rotating special, a stir fry bar, salad bar, and sandwiches. But unfortunately the food quality just isn't that great, and the fact that the special sits out for a while really makes the temperature and freshness suffer. For a super speedy lunch, or grab and go salad, perhaps try it. If you want great food (or even cheap), I'd go elsewhere. read more

I go to the GLG because I work in the building. The food is hit or miss. I usually go out for lunch except when it's raining or really cold. Today was really rainy. So I decided on the shrimp ramen. The man cooking it is always rude, never smiles and is never ready. Lunch service starts at 10:45 I was there at 11:10 and they were still working on getting all the items on the line. This is a normal situation. The food smelled amazing and looked beautiful, I went to take my first bite, it was the most bland ramen I've ever tasted. After adding salt, pepper, soy sauce and Sriracha it turned out to be quite tasty. Try a little harder GLG to get your food ready on time and SEASONING PLEASE!!!!! read more

I have only eaten the burger and sweet fries there. The first two times, the burger was pretty good, but the last time it was really undercooked and I did not ask for it like that. The guy on the grill appears to be, in my opinion, a bit arrogant and not real friendly. The cashiers all seemed very friendly. It will probably be a while before I take another go at it! Why am I just NOW learning about Green Leaf Grill? The institutional design is clean and sharp, with plenty of natural light. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food variety is way above other lunch restaurants in the area. At the grill, salad, and deli stations you see your food prepared right before your eyes. The background music gave the whole place an up-beat vibe. This is as good as it gets for cafeteria-style dining. I learned that the cafe is designed to give people working in the Blue Cross/Blue Shield building a healthy lunch alternative, and they're open to the public as well. The food looked great and fresh. I had the daily "Simply 600" meal (a meal that includes a protein, grain, and two vegetables that is under 600 calories, and is low in sodium); it was great. The server actually carved the turkey for our plate - unlike the typical pre-sliced meats in cafeteria-style restaurants. The veggies are not the "ordinary" overcooked, waterlogged, cafeteria veggies - they were highly seasoned, and perfectly cooked. They even had roasted peppers that they de-seed and slice right there. The veggies are even served from actual serving bowls, rather than the industrial stainless steel cafeteria pans. You can tell that this is chef-prepared food, served by people who care. Street parking was easy, and the turn-around was very quick, so I got back to the office early. I can't wait to get back - I think this is going to be one of my regular lunch spots for a long time - especially since the chef-prepared Simply 600 meals change each day. The food is unlike any you'll find at your typical lunch venues. Fresh ingredients with a flair! Yesterday, I had freshly prepared risotto prima vera. The portion was very generous and the flavor was incredible! Today, I opted for the turkey meatloaf with sauteed squash and beets with feta...and strawberry-infused ice-water! Just incredible. The prices are higher than your standard lunch fare, but definitely in line with the quality and portion of food. The menu options are both healthy and tasty.
