I decided to try SHOTGUN DAN'S PIZZA after looking for a good local pizza spot and noticing that the reviews seemed pretty mixed. Since nothing pushed me strongly in either direction, I figured I'd give them a fair shot. I ordered through Uber Eats at 7:45 PM on a Friday night. The original estimated delivery time was 8:15 PM, which felt totally reasonable for a busy Friday and a third-party delivery order. I also paid the extra $2 for priority delivery, which honestly felt a little odd after I got a notification pushing the delivery window back to 9:00 PM. That said, the pizza actually arrived early at 8:07 PM, which was impressive. The driver was great, and the delivery time was phenomenal. As for value, Uber Eats was offering a buy one, get one free deal at the time, which is what made me decide to try it. I kept it simple and ordered pepperoni pizzas. When the pizzas arrived, both were hot, which I appreciated. Oddly, though, they looked like they had been cooked at completely different times. One had nicely browned cheese and looked great. The other looked underdone and like it could have used a little more time in the oven. Now for the actual pizza, this is where my hesitation about trying this place ended up feeling justified. The crust was the biggest issue for me. It had the texture of an old stale cracker or a soft stale pretzel, somehow not crispy but also not soft or fluffy. It was just... off. The flavor of the toppings was okay, but the pepperoni was extremely light. I think there was about one pepperoni per slice, which was disappointing, especially when the toppings nearly doubled the price of the pizza. In the end, the buy one, get one free promotion is what kept this from feeling like a bad dinner. Without that deal, I would have been much more disappointed. Quality-wise, I'd put it around Little Caesars level, except SHOTGUN DAN'S is priced more like a craft pizza spot. If you can catch a good Uber Eats promo and just need a quick pizza fix, it may be worth trying. But if you're looking for genuinely good pizza and strong value at full price, this probably isn't the place. read more

Waited for the better part of 20 minutes and was never acknowledged by the wait staff. The place was not overly busy and 2 servers passed by our table multiple times. Two tables that came in after us were waited on very quickly. In the past we had good service but terribly disappointed with this experience. Not sure if I want to spend my money on a place with customer service like this. Update: I sent an email to their corporate office via the app website. I received 2 emails and a phone call apologizing for my experience. They said they did go back and look at the security camera footage to identify which employees were at fault. Nice on the phone and in person and I feel bad saying this but this was literally the worst pizza I've ever had. $20 for a pizza that is lower quality than the cafeteria pizzas or those cheap frozen ones in the store. They definitely went above and beyond by making a new pizza and staying over time to do so. Our customer service experience was SUPERB, remarkable leadership displayed. Something has changed with shotgun Dans pizza. It just doesn't taste the same to me... yes you get your monies worth with the toppings but something is missing. I grew up on Shotgun Dans pizza and use to order it regularly once becoming an adult with children. I now live in Texas so it's a treat when I return back home to Arkansas. Very shocked how this place has so many good reviews. It was beyond overwhelming. The cheese is the lowest quality you can purchase and resembles melted plastic. It's very obvious they just throw loads of meat to compensate for lack of flavor which in turns makes it one noted. Just because you add more it does not make it better. 1st off our friendly server was Excellent. We were with a group (individual checks), none of us had been there before and she handled that quite well. Place was quiet on a Tues. night at 6:30; there was no problem accommodating a group of 10. Before we left after a leisurely meal, it was getting busier. Red wine was cold (not the usual) but since weather was warm, and we were having a drawn-out gathering of old friends eager for time to visit, that wasn't an issue. Cold beer with pizza is the "norm" anyway! Salad bar was fresh; wide selection of dressings. Pizza was good, pretty much traditional not exceptional. For this couple we're spoiled by gourmet pizzas, and we prefer olive oil Not marinara sauce base, so our taste buds run more to unusual & unique ingredients. Kudos that gluten-free pizza crust is available! But cooks need to adjust cooking time a bit - that crust just cooks too brown (easy to burn) at normal timing. We usually try the request that it's cooked less, but forgot. It's that way most everywhere with pre-made gluten free crust. Don't know that we'll return for the two of us, but it would definitely be a good place for eat-in (or take-out) when our grandkids visit. read more
