we purchased a car from Manny a few years ago. Manny and his team are great, however they convinced us to do the warranty with Alpha warranty. Alpha is the most disreputable company I've ever done business with. We've had two issues on the both of which mechanical... The first transmission and the second one it cracked valve which both covered in the warranty however, escape is you have to take the engine apart to verify that the valve seat was cracked. We sent them a scope to prove that it's cracked, but they wouldn't cover it and not pay the disassembly charge. If in fact they determine it's something else. The mechanic at the shop is 100% sure that it's the valve seat as that cylinder has no compression. He didn't have any good things to say about Alpha warranty in that out of 40+ claims he helped customers with none of them have been covered. The reason I'm giving Manny a one star review is they continue to do business with this disreputable warranty company. Please if you do business with Trax, don't buy the warranty as they are useless and quite expensive I'm sure it's a good profit center for Trax, but save yourself the money. We drove down the street and the coolant light went on, went back and he added some. We left assuming all was good. The check engine light went on so we got an oil change. By Monday, the brakes were making noise, so we had those checked. The car needed new front brakes and rotors. Reminder - we have had this car for 3 days. Unprofessional! Trifling! Rude! Disgusting! Awful experience here. I can write for days about my experience with this small business; it's sad to say our experience here hasn't been the best at all. I'm shocked that a business as such is even owned by someone who doesn't know how to keep personal and business issues separate. I sincerely thought there was going to be a good outcome from getting an in-house loan from here but it ended up becoming a crappy and horrific experience. By the way the car has timing belt issues, the radiator needed to be replaced 2 weeks into the purchase of the vehicle it spilled all over the transmission, oil had to be changed, the car gasket too, engine light turned on the very next day after purchase, the cars battery died moments after leaving Trav Auto Wholesale, the fluid for the transmission and steering wheel were in massive need of be drained and now it's the timing belt that needs to be fixed along with the brakes. Our family member asked us if we could help them pay a late payment for them in order to get back on track and gave us the number to call in order to make a payment for them. AND THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED...... My sister and I tried calling trax auto wholesale in order to pay a late payment and get current with the car payments for the family and it became chaotic. Even though the car wasn't under our name we were wanting to help our nuclear family get current so there wouldn't be a repossession of it. To make the story short, Manny was absolutely rude and it was extremely disgusting to know that we continued to want to make the payment and he made it very difficult for us to make the payment. He continued to yell over the phone and say we begged to get an in house loan from him, we stole from him(which we absolutely did not nor did my sister because we have NEVER MET MANNY outside of TRAX Auto Wholesale), and he even had the audacity to say we were lucky to have been able to get an in-house loan from him because he actually didn't want to sell us the car but that we begged for it (mind you we gathered $3k +cash as down payment ). Whatever happened between such family member and him outside of the CAR SALES business shouldn't have affected Manny's professionalism as a salesman and especially the OWNER OF TRAX AUTO WHOLESALE. He went crazy over the phone insisting on processing the car to be a REPO just because the vehicles First payment was late (yet we were trying to help get back on track paying the late fee and paying 2 months extra). He continued onto say, he didn't want to do business with us just because we kept wanting to make the payment with him instead of the family member just to prevent any kind of problems between them yet he threatened us with saying he knew how the law works and that we needed to EDUCATE OURSELVES KNOWING THE LAW AND IF HE FEELS LIKE NOT ACCEPTING OUR PAYMENT IN ORDER TO PROCESS THE REPO INSTEAD HE WOULD DO IT BECAUSE HE WASN'T HAPPY WITH THE PERSONAL SIDE BUSINESS HE DID WITH OUR FAMILY MEMBER. Right before hanging up on us as he's yelling at the top of his lungs that he was going to make sure he took the vehicle away and he wasn't accepting any late payment or current payment in order to prevent a repossession. He yelled at us and said he wanted the total amount that was left to pay on the in-house Loan by the end of the day if not he was going to make sure he took the car as a REPO because he felt like doing so because it was under his contract and his in house loan. He made it clear he didn't want us at his dealership but instead wanted the family member he had problems with to give him the total amount in person. Well.... such member went to the dealership before closing and Manny still became offensive and was yelling at the top of his lungs because he didn't want to give them proof such as a receipt to show proof that the payment was officially given to him. This experience has been one of the most humiliating and disgusting ones of my life. Never ever again will we do any kind of business here. Besides the fact that there was a vendetta situation occurring here the car has had $$$$ of repairing and fixing and there's more to come. I truly feel Manny wanted to just repossess the vehicle just to get back at our family member for whatever their personal issues was between each other. And the vehicle sold is crap! My sister and I were just trying to help our family out and out of no where he took every ounce of anger towards us and was extremely rude and unprofessional. His style of professionalism is a definite zero and as a business owner he should've known better than to mix business in and out of his workplace. After dealing with CarMax which I thought was great to buy a car, it was a huge disappointment! I then spent 2 weeks dealing with different dealerships in the peninsula and it was exhausting and annoying as all of them kept trying to sell me extra coverage even though I had made it very clear I was not interested. After finding a BMW for sale online , I decided to stop by Trax to check out the car. I was greeted by Carlos who was very friendly and right away he showed me the BMW and gave me the key for a test drive. I also noticed a beautiful Volvo available and decided to test drive it. Both car were nice and I asked Carlos which car he liked best and he actually pointed out the Volvo who was almost 2k less than the BMW..I decided to buy it right on the spot, there was absolutely no pressure from Carlos like I had experienced from other dealership, the paperwork took less that 15 minutes and Carlos even offered to fix a few minors things even after I drove the car home..He is very honest and he has a nice in inventory, the Volvo was already discounted below KBB, so it was a very easy transaction! Bad brakes on car, they lied about it, then argued with me, then agreed to repair the brakes before we bought the car (we should have know right there). 2 weeks later, the car begins to leak oil, only put 150 miles on the car at that time. We take the car back and the crooks state that the repair bill is $2K. After arguing with us that we did not need the warranty, we wanted to cancel the transaction and get our money back. He refused and call the cops. We were escorted out of the crappy bungalow, no car and no money from the $6.5K down payment. We ultimately got our money back. Be careful here! read more

The owner is an extremely rude guy who makes false assumptions about the customer and literally scares them away. He acts literally like a teenager...Just a heads up: We are 2 doctors and some of the nicest and most respectful people he could ever meet. He started his assumptions by saying "You guys came here 2-3 weeks ago and couldn't find another car, so came back because you want to buy a car that's in the price of a used car but expecting it to be like a new car", so he accused my husband of having unrealistic expectations and being a troublesome customer out of nowhere. We told him that we didn't visit any other car shop because we don't have time for car-shop-hopping and we were calling him every week once for 2-3 weeks to ask if the car we want has arrived. This clearly shows our commitment and interest in a purchase, but he literally shook his head and said "No, I don't believe you, you visited other places" and we were like wtf are you talking about, we don't have to prove you anything... He was also extremely shady and was changing the information he gave us about the car from one week to the other regarding the specs, warranty, etc... Nevertheless, we were interested in buying a car and waited for the car to arrive because it took longer at the service and we were ready to write a check to pay it all that day. We were stressed when we took his car for a test drive because we knew that we were taking his car's responsibility and we are nice and responsible adults who wouldn't want his car to be damaged. When we took the car, it was parked in the street where the cars were moving very fast. We didn't want the car to be damaged, so during the test drive, we parked in an empty parking lot to check the tires, brakes, wipers, brake lights, headlights, steering quality, gear changing quality, engine, oil leak at the bottom, Bluetooth, speakers etc... anything my husband is capable of checking. The WINDSHIELD HAD A BIG CRACK and he didn't even bother to let us know although we were calling him for several weeks to ask about the car. This was a very selfish and irresponsible behavior. We were done with inspecting the car and were on the way back to his place and he called us on the way, he was pissed and told us that WE CANNOT TAKE THE CAR 1 HOUR!!! So for some reason, this guy was living on another planet where the time was flowing faster than the parking lot we were in... We literally took like 15, max 20min.... And we drove max 5 min on the way. The rest of the time was inspecting the car and we wouldn't be able to do it at his place because his lot was full, there were even other cars blocking the drive into the lot.... So he expected us to buy the car without any inspection?! We arrived and I apologized, I was shocked though. He literally said "Have a good day" and was leaving, but my husband didn't realize he was pissed, so he wanted to ask about the windshield and the owner said "Yeah, I know... " in a very aggressive tone meaning "so what....". My husband was shocked and didn't understand what was going on.. He is one of the nicest people on Earth but he got yelled at and scolded by this owner for being thoughtful to pull the car to a lot to inspect.. I told him he is disrespectful, he should apologize, and I will definitely leave a bad comment on Google, but he literally did "ewewewewew I am so scared oohh wooouww, I have 4 stars on Yelp...". He must be very bad at math as well because having 4 stars (which is also not true) means he has a lot of 3 or 2-star ratings, maybe even 1-star comments... The way he was acting was so immature and cringe, I was shocked at what the hell was going on and why he was doing this to us because we were the last people on Earth to deserve that. I guess he had a very bad experience with some previous customers, but he didn't have any right to assume we were bad people. He even said " Well.. I don't trust you guys anymore because you took the car for 1 hr"... If he was a smart guy, he should have done his best to sell this car to us since we wasted his time anyway, but he doesn't have a decent intelligence level. Instead, he scolded and shouted at us out of nowhere. The worst part was that it was our ANNIVERSARY, we were dreaming about buying a car, and he destroyed our day. I asked for the paperwork so I could have my Credit union finance the sale, he then gave me the non-binding contract for me to review and whenever I'm ready just go ahead and arrange everything with the bank and them. There was really no pressure for me to get the car I like. Jim only called me after 2 or 3 days to check in with me. I then told him, I'm ready to test drive it and since he was unavailable for the drive, he told me that Manny will wait for me. Manny was really a wonderful and nice guy! He showed me the features of the car. He was very open on how they got the car as well as how they choose cars for their dealership. We went over KBB and a couple of dealer sites to check the value of both the car i like and my trade-in. During the test drive, I felt I was ready to buy the car. I came back the day after, I was late but the people at Trax Auto were happy to see me. I felt like I was a family here at Trax'. The staff were just real nice from Pepe and the Sales person who was newly married and watched my sleeping baby (sorry I forgot his name) to Manny who gave my little girl a balloon and made us feel at home and to Jim who made sure that all of the paperwork is complete and the car has everything we wanted. When I left I felt good about my purchase and was excited about my nissan rogue, unfortunately a few months later I found out I had been driving with extremely bad bald tires and that it was caused by a bent strut. my mechanic told me that they had to have known about this and he cannot believe that this car had a clean carfax. Manny reached out to me yesterday and have revised his offer from $27k to now insisting he's entitled to charge me $75/day for "storage fees" for 120 days (that's $9000.00! Try not to laugh!) The law actually states a maximum of $1025.00 for any lien storage. And that is when the appropriate notifications have been provided to the registered owner. Out of courtesy to him and as a good faith effort, I offered him this amount and he still is refuses to cooperate or to accept. Manny still will not release my vehicle. I have filed a police report with San Mateo County PD and a report with the CA DMV Criminal Investigations Unit. Luckily we have them to enforce the laws and regulations so that shady dealerships like this one can't take advantage of people. I suspect that the DMV Investigators aren't too fond of dealers like this who rip people off.
