We had what we are sure to be bed bugs. Identifiable bites and all. We called Green Planet based on the reviews on Yelp, and they definitely live up to all the great ratings this place receives. When I called about my bed bug problem, Todd picked up and was so helpful. I told him that we were sure that we had bed bugs but believed that it was in the very early stages. I was calling trying to get him and his team out to do a whole extermination. Todd told me that if I was sure that it was the early stages of bed bugs to go to a link he provided me which was to a pdf of a bed bug removal guide. It cost about $20. Todd told me to follow the ebook to the t and wait a couple of weeks. If there were still bed bugs after the diy treatment he had me and my boyfriend then I could give him a call back. It's been about a month since and (knock on wood) we haven't had any since. No bites, nothing. I can't thank Todd and Green Planet enough. Totally stress-free experience with them. I had woken up a few nights and thought it was just dry winter skin, but upon further investigation I found that it was some bed bugs. After frantically searching every article I could about how to get rid of them, I cleaned everything in sight in the anticipation that it would be several days before I could get a pest control company to come out given that it was New Year's Eve day. I was happy to learn that Green Planet offered to come out a few hours after I originally called them. They answered all sorts of questions I had as I was confused since I didn't feel like I lived in any sort of slum that bedbugs would be found in. I chose to use their services and when they came the next day to actually perform the treatment they thoroughly went over what they would be doing and what steps I wold need to take to make sure the treatment took hold. These guys are great - I'd definitely recommend them! They came within a day of our first mouse sighting and were quick+efficient in terms of going all around our apartment and sealing off holes. Their mice services come with a 1-year guarantee, which is great. They've had to come back once since their initial visit to seal off a new hole we found, but came right away and were proactive in terms of checking out the other apartments in our building. We had an enormous carpenter ant infestation. The previous owners of our house must have been blind because these ants were literally pouring out of the ceiling and floor and walls in the sunroom. Todd came out and met with my wife and inspected the property and quickly found the colony. He treated very carefully as to not get poison near my kids and dog. Within two or three days, we started seeing dead ants. Unfortunately the colony was very mature, so it took two full treatments (~35-45 days) for the colony to die. I vacuumed up at least 1,500 dead ants in the sunroom and there are about 500 dead outside. It has been a full week since I've seen anything in the sunroom, so now we can start using the room finally. Todd came back and baited the front trees because I've seen the ants trailing up and down which indicates another colony in the area. I'm confident he'll get them. I'm pleased with green planet because they always respond to emails and phone calls. I used Green Planet since last year and by far I am really happy with their service. The first house visit was by Colin who came on time, was professional and courteous. He carefully examined inside and outside of the house for the mice problem. He then put out the baits in basement and also crawled under the deck sealed off the cracks mice can come through. He then revisited house in two weeks to ensure the problems were solved. In the next visit he explained what he has done and other pest control procedure and scheduled visit for the rest of the season so I know what come up next. The third visit was requested by me outside of our schedule. I am really touched by how flexible they were to accommodate. They send someone over by my request and solve the problem. I am sorry I forgot his name but he was also very professional and patient. He assured me that I can call again if problem resurfaces. I felt they are very supportive and responsive. Todd and his team at Green Planet are excellent to work with. Everyone I spoke to and worked with was knowledgable, kind, and incredibly professional. Other folks in my condo association say their prices are very reasonable compared to similar service they'd had in the past. They sorted our mouse problem right away - sealing holes and setting traps. We haven't seen any signs of pest activity since. More recently, we've been dealing with a squirrel who has found its way into a wall. With one quick call to Todd, Green Planet came back out to see us free of charge even though our original work with them was unrelated. Utterly thrilled with Green Planet. (Had to reset my Yelp password to write this review!) We've had ants for the past two months or so, off and on. The past couple of weeks they've been especially bad, spreading from the kitchen to other rooms in the house as well. We've tried everything: Raid ant traps, vinegar spray, I even spread corn meal in a bunch of spots in the kitchen (which my wife just loved). The corn meal seemed to help, but they were still pretty bad. One dropped crumb and there were 20 ants on it the next morning. I called Green Planet and they had a cancellation and were able to come that very day. They were professional on the phone explaining how they do things in an eco-friendly way. The guy showed up and told me exactly what he was doing and allowed me to ask some questions. He was in and out within 20 minutes (although he sprayed the outside of the house afterwards and then left, no idea how long that took). He told me it would possibly get worse before it gets better, likely taking 3-4 weeks before they were completely gone. I kid you not, they were *completely* gone the next day. I was shocked. Only 12 hours after they came. I gave it a couple of days before writing this yelp review because I was sure I would start seeing a few, but it's been three days and I haven't seen a single ant. It's possible that they may come back, but they have a 6 month warranty and will spray again if the issue reoccurs. As others say, a little expensive, but completely worth it to me. read more

One positive I can say during this quarantine is I am not spending it with giant black ants that invaded my house last year. I called green planet and Chris (?) came by the same day. I was worried calling an exterminator because of my kids but he explained that he could get rid of the ants without spraying anything inside. Whatever he did that day made the ants disappear. He was extremely helpful even just over the phone, and this was the only company I spoke to (of about a half dozen) who talked me through the process and gave me a ballpark estimate over the phone. It is a very pleasant surprise that there are companies that are both this good and this honest out there. Gives one hope. We replaced our mattress over the weekend and when they delivered the new ones and went to take away the old, we were told by the drivers that we had bed bugs. They naturally wouldnt take the old mattress and box spring away. Out of desperation we called a national exterminator company and we were given a Monday morning 10-12 time frame. I wasnt thrilled to use them as we dont like toxics, but we were feeling desperate. I took Monday off from work so I could be home when they came. Lo and behold Monday at 9 we got a call from them saying they had no openings and couldnt come out. Rather than reward them with a reschedule I decided to find someone else. I came across Green Planet in my search and liked what I saw. I couldnt believe the awesome reviews they had on here but with so many of them it was not too hard to accept. However, as it was now just before 9 am I doubted we would get someone out today. I got an immediate call back. They were more than willing to come out but also offered to take a look at what we were seeing if I had a picture. I didnt have one readily available and also wanted the security of having an expert on site. To my surprise he came out within 2 hours. He took one look at the old box spring and confidently told me we didnt have bed bugs but that there were some carpet beetle larvae signs. A much easier issue. He told me what to do and was also initially not even going to take payment. I insisted he take some payment for his time. I am thrilled with this service and more so I am thrilled that I now have a company I will go back to with anything like this ever again. I cant recommend them enough. read more

These guys are awesome! Not only are they doing a good thing - ecologically terminating those critters you don't want in the house - we had carpet beetles but they are wicked smart. The guy I talked to was an entomologist and identified on the spot two different beetles we had! He was very open to answering questions that we had about this type of infestation and how to control it. We had them out for an initial inspection and then for a termination, and both times, they were really nice and actually FUN to have in the house. Can you imagine - fun exterminators? They were very good at their jobs too. What I really appreciated was the friendliness, the knowledge, and the quick service. Oh yeah! Use these guys! My only regret is that we didn't call them sooner. This is my first Yelp review ever, because these guys deserve major kudos and because I want others who are dealing with the headache of pests to get great help! I live in a condo in Beacon Hill, and we have had terrible mice problems since we bought it about 5 years ago. My husband didn't want to call an exterminator because he thought they would only do what he could do--set traps, but down poison, try to fill holes with steel wool, etc. WRONG! Green Planet did an extremely thorough job, using a flashlight to look for every possible entry place in every nook and cranny of our very old building. Their objective is always completely sealing things off so that mice can't get in--not just killing them once they are already in. (Who wants dead mice in their home anyway?) They used an expanding, squirting foam product to completely seal all holes. They advised that we should not have stuck steel wool near any electrical sources (oops). They also put poison in the walls and then completely sealed off the holes so that there was no poison inside our home, and it was completely safe for our dog. It was really easy to schedule an appointment through Todd -- he is super responsive via email. He was also very patient as I tried to coordinate schedules for all 5 unit owners in my condo building (all units wanted extermination). The 2 guys who came out, Gevo and I think Nick, were SO nice. They were punctual, professional, friendly, and I trusted them in our home. They came out for the initial service and then also returned in 2 weeks for a follow up. Following the follow up, they are available to my whole building on call for an entire year. The cost was $1,025 to do 5 apartments that are about 650 square feet each, including the 2nd follow up visit and being on call for any possible pest reappearances within one year. Divided by 5 units, the cost was a no brainer. After the first visit, I think our MAJOR mouse problem was almost totally, if not totally, eliminated. I found just a couple of mouse poops 2 weeks later, but I could not tell if they were old (if they fell off the broom, etc.) Gevo said they will assume they are new and proceeded to inspect and fill the tiniest of nooks and crannies. I have no reservations about giving them my strongest endorsement--and I have very high standards. Customer service in general all too often disappoints. Not with Green Planet. I commend them for being friendly, professional, reliable, and offering good value. Wish more service providers did business like them. read more

We love Green Planet. We have a problem with pharoah ants, and our landlord recommended just using Raid to kill them off. After a full can of it not making a difference, we took matters into our own hands and called Green Planet. We were looking for kid-friendly and pet-friendly pest control who could respond quickly. I called one day, and they were out the same day initially. Other visits, we've gotten next-day service at a time that's convenient for us. Their method of treatment is to treat with the least invasive method, wait two weeks, and then re-evaluate to see if the bugs are still a problem, changing the treatment at that point. They were really helpful with consumer education (i.e. what we can do when we see ants between treatments, interior and exterior changes we could make to discourage pests, etc.), and told us what they were doing, the chemicals they were using, and the risk level to kids and pets at the same time they were in the house. They only offer yearly contracts, and come out as many times (and anytime) during the year as needed to fix and maintain the problem. We've had them out three times--two for initial treatment, and once for a new influx. We're now a month out from the last treatment (the three treatments happened over about two months), and haven't seen any ants recently. We're happy to be using their services, but hope we don't have to call again soon (since that would mean the ants are back, ha!) Their customer service is top-notch, and if I've had to leave a message, I've gotten a prompt reply. read more

We have had ants and what we thought were termites for years but have always been hesitant to call an exterminator because of children and pets. After researching safer alternatives I found Green Planet Pest Control on the web. They are an eco-friendly company and after explaining their methods I felt comfortable choosing them. Called because we were worried that we had cockroaches. After discussing where I live and the bugs I've seen, they assured me we had another indigenous bug that is not the same kind of perennial problem as cockroaches. Todd recommended a product I can get anywhere and a DIY treatment that should help keep the other bugs out of the house, too. These guys are great. I called to get some advice on drain flies and centipedes and they were happy to help me over the phone, no charge. They even advised "not coming" for the centipedes, as they couldn't guarantee that their methods would work and they aren't keen on mindlessly spraying chemicals, green or not. After following their advice, our drain fly issue went away and our centipede problem is much more manageable. I will only call Green Planet in the future. read more
