SO MUCH YES! I love this place! Green Tomato Grill has a large menu with so many delicious items. The best part is that they can prepare every entrée and side dish gluten free! LOVE IT! Their baked goods are also 100% gluten free. My favorite item is their BBQ Crispy Tofu Bowl. It's honestly heaven in a bowl and should be tried by everyone who goes here! First time coming in a while. They have social distancing line for ordering. They have patio seating for eating in and the tables are separated. The cashier was super nice and helpful. I got the corn and a chile verde bowl with chicken. Not gona lie, the corn was super spicy. My lips are still burning and its been an hour but it was delicious. The chicken was grilled and not dry thankfully. The chile verde could have been more flavorful but everything tasted good together. They offered us iced water and it was relevant since it was so hot outside. There was shading for the tables but there were some spots missing shade. My wife and I frequented this place during COVID. They have the best breakfast tacos (eggs, bacon, etc. in a tortilla). Their food is mostly healthy and always tasty. Great selection of drinks, too. I really like their fried green tomatoes, you have to try them. I can't imagine they are healthy because they are fried, but they seem better for you than french fries and taste just as good if not better, so there's that to consider. I come here regularly with my daughter when the car's getting worked on at the Toyota dealership across the street. The food is always tasty and the staff members are always helpful. I'm a fan of the sweet potato fries - so is my daughter. And you should definitely try one of their fresh cookies that are in the display case. Customer service is A+! We mentioned it was our first time to the cashier and he gave us two free lemonades, which were absolutely delicious. I got the pineapple berry lemonade and my sister got the cucumber lemonade. All their lemonades are made in house and really refreshing. I have been seeing them pop up on my social media advertisements for a while and finally got around to trying them out. Its fairly difficult for me to find a vegan/vegetarian restaurant (or restaurant with a fair amount of those types of offerings)& wasn't as impressed as I was hoping. I ordered the salmon bowl, and my first impression was that it was a pretty good portion and looked decent. Upon takin my first few bites, all I could think was how salty it was. It pretty much had no taste beyond the salty flavor. It was rough to eat and I ended up only finishing about half, as it left me super thirsty and just not feeling super great eating it. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe the chef was having an off day, or maybe I just ordered the wrong item. I've been here twice and both times were great. First time I went was on a weekday around 12pm. It was busy. They give you a number once you are done ordering at the counter, and bring the food to you if you chose to dine in. I waited maybe 10 min for my food, which was not that bad considering how busy it was around lunchtime. I am a creature of habit, and on both occasions ordered the teriyaki chicken bowl with brown rice instead of the white rice, which comes with it already. One of my favorite lunchtime spots. Green Tomato Grill is definitely a healthier alternative to the quick-grab-and-go fast food areas nearby. Although it can get crowded during lunch peak hours (12 pm to 1 pm), their service is always warm, friendly, and fast. This place is also great with call-ahead orders and doordash delivery if you're looking for lunch but can't stay long. My go-to for lunch is always the chile verde steak bowl which can be made spicy with the habanero fire sauce. It can be served with your choice of brown or white rice; but I almost always opt for the white rice which has been seasoned with cliantro and lime. The steak has always come out very well seasoned and in large generous cubes. As for sides, I definitely recommend that you give the fried green tomatoes a shot. For lighter appetites, I recommend the southwest steak salad which also comes with a heaping serving of protein. My wife really wanted to eat here for quite a while and I guess you could say I finally gave in after being bushed from a morning at the "mouse house" (Disneyland). Talk about a complete 180 from what I'm used to, but in the end I walked away with a new appreciation for health nuts! This is right off Katella from the 55 freeway and located in a small strip mall area which is a cross between easy yet difficult to spot, but once there at least the Mom and Pop vibe will engulf you and not quite make you think you're in old town. Can't go wrong with that, right? I was in the mood for a burger and since at the time of eating here I was on a "try every meatless burger in site" phase this won me over. Kudos to Green Tomato grill because I was extremely skeptical of their veggie burgers because most taste like dusty paste, but this one actually even got me to raise an eyebrow at the culinary marvels here. The vegan char burger I admit was a bit charred in some bites for my liking, but focusing away from that I did enjoy that the meat to me came off like a very healthy chorizo consistency and if I didn't know I couldn't tell there was no meat here. It PAINS me to admit that, but it was shocking to think that afterwards (man, hope the wife doesn't see this). The one thing that did taste healthy though was the vegan cheddar. I guess when it comes down to it, you can't fake real American cheese. It also came partnered with some Chile lime popcorn which although simple in nature blended well overall with the meal. The seasoning was not overpowering and there was a lime after taste which salsa'd on my palette like a fiesta. Perfect partner to an already blossoming meal indeed! Thanks to Yelp, I even got to walk away with dessert. The vegan chocolate chip cookie is a must try! I would go so far to say I don't want another unhealthy cookie after this. You really could taste the healthy here and it was a wonderful alternative from the overload of sugar and buttery mix from a "fat cookie". Again, am I possessed by a demon or something right now?!? Ha-ha. Joking aside, this place is a legit and decent contender when straying away from glutenous junk or that stress releasing comfort meal. I can't say I would be back by choice (that's just the unhealthy side surfacing), but happy wife happy life says I'll at least be content should a repeat visit be in my future. This is the third time I have been here. Obviously the food keeps calling me back to some extent, so I'd say it's definitely worth a try. I absolutely love their ranch wrap with cauliflower, and today I got the Teriyaki bowl with crispy tofu. The bowl was jam packed, which made me very happy, and the flavors were great! Unfortunately, though, there were some things that were bothersome. My partner ordered the burger. We didn't realize until after, but we paid $11 for the burger you see pictured, with no fries or sides of any kind. If you ask me, that's a bit too pricey for a small burger with no sides, and truthfully the burger wasn't the best, and as you can see it's pretty plain. That being said, the service today was pretty bad. I'm very laid back and usually don't nit pick at service, but it was easy to see everything was totally unorganized. The young kid working at the front was insanely nice and had great energy, but he was obviously new. It's obviously not an issue at all to be new and in the process of learning, but he acted very unprofessional. He cursed a bit and took a while to take our order. Again, I don't really care about stuff like that, but I can't imagine most people would be okay with that level of unprofessionalism in an establishment that isn't a bar. Some people care about cursing ‍ and how long it takes to put in an order. The kid let us know that when our to-go order was ready, he'd call our name. The wait for our food was a huge bummer. I had time to walk around the entire shopping center and across the street to find somewhere to get coffee, had time to check my car for something, and had time to sit at various tables and stand around. It took...forever. For two items. One of the workers came out at one point carrying a burger on a plate, asked if we ordered for in seat, we said we ordered to-go, and she ran away and never came back. I assume they had plated our food, and had to re-wrap it. We walked in to check on it after that, still wasn't ready. Finally we went in again, asked if our food was ready, they looked genuinely confused, and then finally gave us our bag. We got home, and the food was cold. I assume it had been ready for ages and they just were so unorganized they didn't know it was ours somehow, and then forgot to tell us when it was ready? I dunno...I'm bummed I spent as much as I did on cold food. And I'm annoyed that they said they would personally call our name when our food was ready, and that didn't happen. Lots of small mistakes!
