Heads up! I inadvertently signed up for "continuous" and to my shock was greeted with an employee in my front yard one year later doing another tree treatment. I called the office for clarification and there it was...it said continuous on my service contract. Rep said he always discusses this with clients...nope. Manager said we should have been contacted by phone and/or e-mail....nope. But, they had NO trouble sending a bill and following up on that! Terrible business practices...and NO follow-up or apology or billing adjustment. I'm moving on. read more

They came within one day of a branch falling on my house (not widespread storm), removed it and confirmed my roof was in damaged. Not cheap, but this hazardous work never is. read more

For many years SavATree (Springfield) has worked at my Alexandria home to protect our large old trees by spraying regularly for borers and other problem insects, feeding, and deadwooding as needed. They have removed two trees over the years that could not be saved. Most recently they worked on a large river birch that needed the three trunks cabled together and the whole tree trimmed back from the house and also shaped several large hollies. Responsive when called, professionally done work, with meticulous clean up when finished. They have been and will continue to be my go-to tree guys! Kudos to Dave Wesley the aborist. Arborist Tyler is knowledgeable, professional, patient and friendly; He spent a lot of time reviewing my needs, making a plan for tree removal, planting and pruning as well as giving advice on the future care of my trees. Tyler ensured the plan was discussed and reviewed with me and Jeb's crew on the day of service. Jeb and his crew were also awesome. They are skilled! They did well removing two trees and pruning the others carefully that were in poor shape. I also had new trees planted. I am very happy with the excellent job they all did. I worked with Saveatree to get a tree removed in my backyard and asked them to trim 2 trees in addition to the tree removal. I ran into a few issues with the workers and arborist. The arborist was somewhat rude in our communications, but eventually the back office reached out to me and corrected the mistakes. On Feb 21, 2023, SavATree, David Wesley/crew removed a large deteriorating tree that had deadwood, decay located on a slope in my neighbors back yard that if it came down would damage the roof of my home. Tree was located next to my fence which was not damaged. Since I was unable to contact neighbor due to recent surgery, David was so kind as to contact the neighbor to get his permission to remove tree. SavATree did a great job to include clean up in my yard, neighbors yard next to me as well as yard where tree was located. Also had my 4 Crape Myrtles, 2 Hydrangeas pruned, removing dead branches. Highly recommend David Wesley with SavaTree. Very knowledgeable. read more

SaveATree has been saving out 30+ft Ash tree that has been hit by the ash wood bore. This latest visit was to trim out all of the dead limbs of the tree, and they spent almost 8 hours in a bucket truck to accomplish this task. They carefully cut out branches that could potentially damage the roof of our home and collected everything that could fall on the roof. The debris was cleaned up as they went, the branches grounded up on site, and they completed a meticulous--I mean very meticulous cleanup using blowers and rakes. The lawn showed little evidence that anyone was actually working in the yard for that length of time. Our Ash tree has NEVER looked as good as it does now. With continued treatments, we anticipate the tree will recover to its previous magnificence. As the saying goes, "If you want something done right, call a professional." We could not be more pleased with the results and HIGHLY recommend SaveATree. read more

SavATree was awesome last week when a tree fell on our house during the wind storm. They were the only tree service that would send someone out that evening to look at the tree/damage. Brian was so helpful and had a crew with a crane ready to remove the tree the next morning. It was a tricky removal and they did it expertly with no more damage to the house, no damage to the patio underneath where the tree was on the house, or the trees/bushes around the house. The crew really worked together to take the tree down in a professional way without creating more damage. Everyone watching in our neighborhood (it was entertainment for the neighborhood) was also very impressed with SavATree. And the price was very reasonable considering all that was involved removing the tree. We will be using them in the future for all our tree work. read more

My husband and I have had Sav a Tree for a variety of tree and shrub care--major trimming, pruning, diseased trees, and grass care. Brian has been very responsive, as have the entire staff. Our 3 cherry tress have been a big problem in the past and this spring, with the work that Sav a Tree has been doing, they look healthy and full. We have a 60+ year old green ash that was losong it's canopy. I spoke with 4 firms before deciding on SavaTree. They came out promptly and diagnosed emerald ash borer damage. The cost of treatment and treatment regime seemed reasonable compared with others. Injection of the pesticide into the trunk occurred first followed by a long pruning session with a bucket truck. Clean-up was very good. Overall a good and professional experience. Start to finish was about 3 weeks. read more

This company prides itself on communication. That's ironic, considering that even after I made it clear I did not want the cherry picker truck to drive in my backyard, they did it anyway. The ground was soft and sure enough it left ruts. The excuse was that the crew chief misunderstood the instructions. It never would have happened if the supervisor had stayed on the job (as he told us he would) instead of taking off once the work started. The company did return with a core extractor aerator and seeded the damaged area but there are still bumpy areas and different colored grass. A once smooth, attractive area that I spent much money, work and time over the years is no longer the same. I made it a point several times that the truck was not to go in the backyard and was assured it would not. This entire incident could have been avoided if the supervisor had stayed as had been promised. Savatree is expensive. The customer deserves more attention than was given in this case. Very disappointed and would not hire again. The work itself was acceptable but outweighed by the aggravation. read more

Needed a large white oak tree and large cherry tree cleaned up as well as a large limb removed from another tree. Brian came out and quickly gave me a fair estimate of the work. We agreed on a date but the date came and went and no one showed up. I assumed it was from the cold tempratures. A few day after the date I was expecting them to show up, the crew arrived unannounced. Brian was surprised that I didn't get an email or phone call. They proceeded to do the work professionally and took great care not to damage the fence and shrubs around the trees. I am very happy with the work but am skeptical of the customer support. I still don't understand how I could have received all of the emails selling there other services but not the one announcing when the crew would show up to do the one service I did contract them to do. read more

I cannot in good faith recommend SavATree. They were initially called out by my home insurance company--but the home insurance issues (a branch that had penetrated the roof), was resolved prior to the teams arrival; however, I have two old oaks in the yard so took an estimate on trimming them. The estimate was fine and we settled on a deal. I paid half of the estimated cost up front and then the date got pushed back by three or four months. AFTER THE PAYMENT HAD BEEN MADE. The service was done--and again, the tree guys seemed nice--and the trees seemed fine. I did not receive a bill. I did not receive a bill for three months. It is not like the company did not have my address. The address had been used to schedule the appointment at my house and to conduct the work at my house. Three months later I emailed my SavATree contact to ask where the bill was. He forwarded my mail to the billing office. The bill arrived with a late fee. How can a bill be LATE if it was never received? I asked for the fee to be removed and was told she could remove it if I paid the same day. I feel threatened. Again, I do not recommend SavATree to you because of the experience of working with the company and having to pay months and months in advance and then never receiving a bill-and then being told I had a late fee. read more

I don't know that I have ever thrown away money in such a worthless fashion. Savatree changed my account rep last season, resulting in an extended gap in service where things got out of control with aphids. Apparently too late to do anything about it--and not willing to clean the unsightly mess--my new account rep Keith conned me into a new, more expensive plan by saying it would allow the company to get in front of those problems during the next season. The only difference three months into the new service was that I was paying more for the same shoddy "service," including a tech who couldn't articulate what work he performed during each visit, no confirmation that they had ever even applied fertilizer, and more suggestions from Keith that I spend more money. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for tree and shrub care. read more

I don't know about there abilities when it comes to trees but I can tell you to keep them away from your lawn.

The customer service was good, The estimate was fair and I always got an email if there was any changes. The work was excellent both times we used them, the clean up was awesome and they even left the right size stump that I had requested so I could decorate my garden. I would use them again. read more

When they respond, they're fine -- we have no complaints with their actual work. However, I called them about two weeks ago to request that they look at an ailing tree on my property; they promised to send someone out, but no one ever showed. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I called them a couple of days ago to explain the situation. They told me they'd look into it and get back to me; haven't heard from them since. I think we'll use someone who actually wants our business from now on. read more

Did a very thorough job trimming an old and very tall tulip poplar and silver maple. Good communication throughout (by email and phone) and easy online invoicing. Not the cheapest around probably but solid customer service and exemplary work. read more
