Anyone who gets the pleasure of speaking to her will immediately understand what I mean. She answered all my questions and really made me feel at ease with the move. J Barber sent Joe, the driver, to do the Virginia pick up and the Florida drop off. He was great! Very nice, professional, good spirited, and easy going while at the same time very efficient. He made sure all the floors, stair rails, and door facings were covered to avoid any damage. He took care to inventory all the furniture and boxes and made sure everything was properly loaded on the truck. Joe selected a fantastic crew of very hard working individuals (Al, Michael, and Matt) to load my belongings on a shuttle truck (because my driveway wasn't accessible for a larger truck) which was then transferred to a National Van Lines semi truck waiting at the J Barber warehouse. The loading crew wrapped my furniture like it was made of glass. They did such a good job and all my furniture made it without a scratch. Everyone on the pick up crew was courteous and professional. They weren't on their phones or taking smoke breaks as I've experienced in the past. Once in Florida, Joe contacted me to let me know he was in town, and set up a delivery time for the following day. He contracted a local crew (Thomas and James) to unload the truck and set up the furniture in my new home. They worked quickly and did a great job of placing things where I wanted them. They were good natured and made friendly conversation as they worked. No smoking or phone usage on the Florida end either. Joe double checked the area to ensure the furniture was put back together properly and all the trash was picked up. I really appreciated that the pick up driver and the drop off driver was the same person. Anytime it is possible to use the same driver, I would highly recommend doing so. I've moved several times but never using a semi truck so I was nervous about my stuff being transferred once it left my departing house. I can now say without a doubt, my uncertainty was unfounded. This was by far the best move I've ever had. Very smooth and professional. I really can't say enough about how well the move went from beginning to end.

Few times in my life I've been truly stunned by the kindness and generosity of others. I was unloading my truck by myself after a 12 hour drive from GA. They saw I had a lot of work ahead of me, and offered to help unload while they waited. I said "no, thanks", but they insisted. By the time their truck arrived they had unloaded almost all of my 13k lbs. of stuff, carrying furniture up two flights and down a hill to the garage. When Caleb told them their new truck was about to arrive, they started RUNNING, trying to get more stuff out for us before they had to get back to their job. Caleb said his guys just love to work. It was incredible. The entire crew was friendly, careful, and hard working. They didn't stop even once. It was one of those moments that helps restore your faith in humanity. I was told I would have four men. I had only two men. They did not have the man power to move my furniture. My dinet table was rolled on its side. The table put a large gouge in my hard wood floor. I was told they don't pay to get that fixed. I am still finding pieces that are damaged. I never complain so this is new to me. They contracted the move out to another company and failed to even tell me. My furniture was dropped, rolled and dresser drawers dropped in the yard. I can't even touch the surface of how bad. Please stay far away from this company. I used them years ago. I was told they are under new management now. I wish I did more checking. What a disappointment.

As I recall, initially the number I called for BRM went to someone else who told me they were getting my info to the right person. Darryck contacted me shortly after and needed to inform me when he could do the job based on another larger move customer the same week we needed. By the end of the next day he had locked me in to the next Wednesday, which was perfect for us. After talking to Darryck more and asking why he doesn't have any online presence on Google and Yelp for that matter, I found out that he has recently purchased the business from a former employer and is having a hard time getting these online listing services to allow him to set up the business under new ownership with the same business name. Also, the Facebook representation had no posts since June 2022, so at first, I was dubious. Well, Darryck is apparently focusing on providing good work more than online presence. He was great on communications. Answers his phone, texts and emails in reasonable time for a man physically doing the work. He was the only mover who sent me a quote on letterhead as a .pdf. He and his partner worked as if THEY were paying for my move. They really hustled, in a good way, I wasnt concerned about the cargo due to them working so fast. He charged their time from the moment they arrived and began working to the last box landing at the other end. Very reasonable and came in at a fraction of his estimate for his final bill. Note: We were very prepared with very little to disassemble and almost everything boxed, staged and ready to go. It was a small move and they knocked it out like it was nothing. The better YOU prepare, the less expensive your move will be. These guys work HARD by the hour. Anything you can do to make their job easier, simply saves you money. The less you leave them to do, the less your cost is going to be.
