The parking lot was gravel-based, so vehicles were parked a bit haphazardly, but the lot's spaciousness ensured that it was not really an issue. The hotel was right on the stream with a lovely grassy area dotted with Adirondack chairs, hammocks, and other ways to enjoy the view. The office was located right next to that little park and was also where the continental buffet breakfast was served. The small room had a great view of the water from its few tables. The breakfast options included various hot beverages, several types of milk, yogurt, berries, granola, pastries, breads, hard-boiled eggs, lox, tomatoes, cucumbers, and more. It was really the perfect few bites to start the day with energy and wellness. While the inn had a few larger cabins, many of the rooms were supposedly rather tiny, including ours. The room had a queen-sized bed, nightstand, wall-mounted television, and wooden desk with matching chair. There was a closet with some hanging and shelving space, as well as a hair dryer and coffeemaker. The room really left a lot to be desired from a space perspective, as it was hard to navigate. For instance, the room might have come with 2 luggage racks, but there was really only space for one. The bathroom was also tiny, and it was near impossible to use the toilet without sideswiping the pedestal sink on your way. The shower was a decent size at least. The bathroom came with fluffy towels and Aveda products, which were both appreciated. We also loved that the temperature and pressure of the water were phenomenal; in fact, the shower was like a fire hose! Though the room was small, it was SPOTLESS! Also, its individual heater packed a great deal of warmth. There was not an abundance of electrical outlets, but the alarm clock had one built in, as well as two USB ports. The extremely gracious staff had also left a binder of local recommendations for us on the table. The bed, however, was lumpy, and the pillows were cheap and uncomfortable. From a location standpoint, the inn was only a few blocks from either end of town, depending on which way you wanted to travel. The residential roads were very dark at night and many did not have sidewalks, so we definitely needed to be alert walking to and from the main drag, even though we knew the town was overly safe. The Woodstock Inn on the Millstream made up for its lack of amenities and small rooms with efficient, friendly service and clear dedication to guest satisfaction.

We're frequent IHG guests and have stayed at several of their brands over the years. Hotel Indigo is usually our favorite, and we'd previously stayed at a Voco in St. Augustine, so we already had high expectations. This property somehow managed to surpass them. From the moment we pulled into the parking lot, we were impressed. The landscaping is beautiful, with colorful flowers everywhere, and the hotel sits right along the river with a lovely park directly behind it. The setting immediately felt peaceful and inviting. We arrived several hours before the normal check-in time and, because of our IHG status, called to see if an early check-in might be possible. The front desk was incredibly accommodating and had a room ready for us right away, which was a wonderful start to our stay. Although we weren't able to get a river-view room, our room overlooked the trees and was still beautiful. It was spotless, exceptionally spacious, and featured high ceilings that made it feel even larger. The bathroom was equally impressive, with upscale finishes and plenty of space. It was one of those hotel rooms that actually makes you want to spend time relaxing instead of rushing out the door. The location is another huge plus. The surrounding town is small, historic, and very walkable. The riverside park behind the hotel offers kayak and canoe rentals, a fantastic playground for kids, and Adirondack chairs and fire pits that make for a perfect evening by the water. One of my favorite moments of the trip was waking up early to watch the sunrise over the river. The view was absolutely beautiful and well worth getting up for. We also had breakfast at the hotel's restaurant, and it ended up being one of the best meals we had during our visit. The coffee was excellent, and I loved sitting in the modern lobby with my morning coffee while looking out over the beautifully landscaped courtyard. It was such a relaxing way to start the day. This is the kind of hotel that makes you want to extend your stay. Between the beautiful property, comfortable rooms, excellent service, and ideal location, it's a place we'd happily return to. We highly recommend it and can't wait for our next visit.

Cool but not really practical at all. I switched rooms the second day and they couldn't have been more accommodating. I really liked that they texted after check in to make sure we were comfortable and responded right away. I would definitely stay here again if visiting the Hudson/Albany area. Margiery please turn off that setting it is extremely rude and displays you completely ignored us. Our smoke alarm went off multiple times at 4am and was called "finicky" by Melissa. That was the day we were supposed to check-out. As you can imagine, we were all worried about driving back in these conditions, especially as the storm kept getting worse, rather than slowing down. The hotel staff offered to extend our stay, free of charge, so that we could wait out the storm. They even provided us with extra linens and towels so we could have a more comfy evening. I cannot say how thankful we all are. Our stay at the Kaatskill Mountain Club was amazing. Aside from the amazing staff, the hotel amenities themselves are pretty cool. We had a fun time at the hot tub and heated pool, and the complimentary breakfast is the perfect pick me up before a long ski day. If you're looking for a cozy weekend getaway, and an amazing hospitality, that's the place for you.

Breakfast was included, and it was a "grab and go" assortment of oatmeal, pastries, apples and granola bars, along with hot beverages. I would have liked it if the hot beverages had been available after skiing as well, but there were coffee pots in the room with coffee, teas and actual mugs, along with creamers and sweeteners. The resort charges a fee, which gives you access to their plethora of activities on site including oak barrel saunas, pickle ball, e-bikes, hammocks, a wooden swing, and more. They also offer various classes and guided workshops such as tye dying, book folding, and cocktail making. They had a magic show and live music as well. S'mores kits could be purchased for $15 for two people. Our room was clean, with a modern bathroom. The shower got very, very hot. The thermostat worked well. They have a restaurant on site. The bakery served pastries, hot breakfast, and drinks in the morning. Reservations were recommended for dinner. Overall, it was perfect for a quiet weekend getaway.

I was impressed by this throwback to days of great service! Out children are grown, but i can see this as being a great location for families with young children or as empty testers who want to return to a quieter, simple time of old. The is a swing set, climbing apparatus, outdoor pool as stated, and field for baseball if desired as well as a basketball hoop. Wifi and cable tv are included as is a small fridge.. I met one staffer in passing who was pleasant and welcoming. Did I say the room was clean? The heat worked fine as did the air conditioner. Baumann's Brookside made me nostalgic for my youth in the 1960s and 70s. A concrete step in the rear read " May 1963" which means that the walls in between rooms isn't made out of cardboard like many hotel rooms are nowadays. Memories to be made and relived here. We went one year and the paddle boats were not out because of weeds in small lake. Yoga was no longer. Nearby events like go carts closed and there was nothing replacing them. Crafts and events during rain??? Gone. My kids found a rat in the game room two summers ago, and I bring bleach wipes to wipe game room machines down first day we come each time --it's filthy every time. No exaggeration. The pool table was also filthy and stained. They had a kid running the games most years and they acted like typical bored teen. Yet we put up with it (should you need to on vacation?) to see the same people each year. Some who have also stopped coming. Last summer there were a few very cold days and no one could use the pool because it was freezing. I called to ask what the temperature was this year and if would be heated. I was told "how would I know the pool temp.? When it gets below. certain temp the heater kicks on!" When I explained no one was in last year because it wasn't working right she answered, "No that's wrong!" My husband literally called me and showed me pics both days of no one in pool. Then she accused us of "complaining a lot" because I had asked about paddleboats and other amenities in the past. Sorry. I am not THAT person, but a customer is allowed to politely ask questions. It is not the kind of place with a ton to do--you go to see the people you're hanging out with, so if you love to boat and the lake is closed, yes, that's a big deal to some people. I would encourage you to go. See how the family treats you, especially Rosemary. Maybe it will be enough for you. Unless like most first timers who AREN'T going for a family reunion or with a large group, you will be underwhelmed, maybe even frustrated. If you have gone to Pine Lake Manor, right near by, that's more like Baumann's should/used to be. Or a place like Woodloch--more money? Yes! but they try really hard to make a nice time for you and don't berate you for asking about missing/changing amenities. Be sure NOT to ask for more than the minimum. You definitely get what you pay for with Baumann's. Very sad. The older family who built the place and clearly cared once, would be ashamed of how the younger ones have run it down and treat the public.
