I've used Greener Living for some years. It was getting too expensive so I asked them to discontinue some services & only do the perimeter pest control. They continued to provide all services after I asked them not to. Granted I am not the greatest at keeping up with emails or my to do list but I feel like they took advantage. Today I get a call asking for payment. The payment was for $1030.00. What could they possibly have done this early in the season for $1000? The man I spoke with was very kind. He had his manager call me. He was not kind. He basically called me a liar, talked over me, tried to trip me up. I recommend making sure everything is in writing. They will deny a phone call ever happened. I paid them today. I'm not happy that I did but I don't want the stress of going through a battle. Update: 54 days and no refund - Warning to current and future customers. Stay away from Greener Living! As posted in a previous review, Greener Living performed sub-standard service and damaged my property. I eventually asked for a refund and was told I would receive it. We're now 54 days since that initial confirmation that it was "processed" and still no refund. Caymen ("President and Owner") even responded to one of my previous reviews confirming yet again that the refund was "processed" and it could "take two weeks." We're now past two weeks since that date and still no refund. Brian and Caymen are refusing to respond to emails. The original refund acknowledgement was from Brian on August 23 - that is 54 days ago. The second refund acknowledgement was from Brian on September 3 - that is 43 days ago. The third refund acknowledgement was from Caymen on September 13 - that is 33 days ago. We are well past a, ridiculously generous, two-week window for a credit card refund to arrive. Let this serve as a warning if you are considering doing business with Greener Living - look elsewhere. They do not care about your property or your business. read more

I contacted them after needing more help and advice on my lawn. I don't always have the time or sometimes the tools to keep up my lawn like I'd like. In talking to them, I could tell they knew what they're doing. And after a few months of service, I could see the difference. I would recommend. Highly knowledgeable, very friendly, and easy to contact. My grass improved tremendously after just one season of treatment. Reason for 4 stars is I wish there was more communication about the specific day of when they were coming to do a treatment or service. They usually just show up and it is a little bit of a surprise. The technicians do a very good job. I have used them primarily for core aeration, which they did promptly and effectively. They have also treated the lawn for insects and Creeping Charlie. The back office is not so efficient, as they seem to sign me up for services I have not requested. read more

Total waste of money. They were suppose to treat for dandelions and clover. Lawn looks worse than ever. Even complaining didn't help.

Did not show up as scheduled, with no warning or explanation. Arrived a few weeks later (again with no notification), recut the lawn that another company did, and then charged me. The lack of communication--except in the beginning to start an account and get my credit card number--was unacceptable. read more

They do good work and were quite reliable. My lawn improved during the season. It does feel a little "corporate" and there was never the sense that I could talk to the folks when they came on the day. I kind of wish there was a little more relationship that way. I was using Davie tree service for years lawn and tree service then I gave greener living a chance. My grass and trees never looked so bad!! I complained about the trees they just blamed our summer. Have we not had hot summers here before and didnt do anything. This is Chicago. My front grass is terrible and I water a lot. Plus we have had a lot of rain. My neighbors grass who doesn't use any service at all looks better then mine. Do not use this service. Save you money and grass. read more

Your staff seems knowledgeable, however, your proposed solutions don't work. I still have the same issues in my grass, ie. fungi, weeds, etc. that you treated for (and uncharged for), plus you show up unannounced and then send me a bill. Very disappointed with your service. read more

We have used Greener Living for a couple of years now. The treatments are comparable to other lawn care companies as far as number of and type of applications. Our lawn has looked pretty good with minimal weeds. We do end up with some crabgrass in the parkway which usually needs to be retreated - not sure why spring applications don't prevent it, but many companies have a hard time eradicating crabgrass. The technicians are courteous and friendly. Staff attend to any concerns quickly and thoroughly. We have been pleased with Greener Living service thus far. read more

I'm honestly surprised at the bad reviews, because I've had a great experience with Greener Living. I don't find them pushy at all. They do occasionally call and ask if I'm interested in other services, but I don't think I've bought them and I never felt pressured. When they started a few years ago, I had them do a slit seeding, and I was really happy with how it turned out. I'm not a big lawn person (just mow and water occasionally) and it really helped my lawn, which had gotten sparse and patchy. They text me in advance of coming (not sure if this is standard, but I requested it, because I try to mow before they come) and they have never not come or canceled. They email a report after every service, which I like. My lawn looks good, although I'm not looking for perfection, just healthy grass. I don't know that I've ever asked them to come back and fix something, but I've called and emailed with questions and they are always really nice and responsive. I signed up and prepaid for this year, because I was more than satisfied (and I have both done it myself and tried a few other companies over the years). If things change, I will update the review, but I expect I'll be happy this year as well. read more

It has only been recently that our back yard is back to being as green as it was before we started using Greener Living's service. It might be a bit thicker than it was but I am not sure that isn't because we are watering more frequently this year. The side yard is a different story. They killed off most of the grass there, leaving large dead spots. They said it would come back with frequent watering. It did not. The only reason it looks halfway decent now is because we put some sod there. The front yard continues to have brown spots even after watering every other day. It seems that the brown spots start to go away and then Greener Living returns for another treatment and the brown spots are back. We have refused to pay for the first treatment due to the bad state it left all of our lawns in. We are interested in their hydro seeding (?) that they do in the fall. We will see after that. Another thing is that Greener Living said they would tell us in advance that they were coming so that we could arrange for watering at the appropriate time. We never received such notification. read more
