Worst ball tracers ever! Don't bother spending the money, they can't even track your ball at the range.

I've golfed at this course for many years. In the past the grounds have been in great shape and I've enjoyed golfing there. Today I quit my round of golf because the grounds were in such terrible shape. The greens were good, the fairways were a different story. When I tee off I like to see my ball rolling (I need the leverage as much as possible. :) but the grass was so tall my ball wouldn't even roll. A couple of the holes are just huge weed patches. I found two golf balls (not mine) in tall faraway grass so it seems other golfers were having the same issues. We saw the grounds crew taking a break (?) for a while, should have been out there mowing like crazy because it was a mess! Even the parking lot has tons of weeds! Really like the friendly staff who check us in and work in the clubhouse, I'll miss seeing them but I think I'm moving on to another course. read more

This used to be a nice golf course with a driving range. Now it is a driving range with a mediocre golf course. Course is getting rough. Need a lot of maintainence. Investing all the money in the driving range and none in the course. More concerned about trying to compete with Top Golf. read more

I used to love this driving range, I considered it the best around. They made some changes, some for the better and some for the worse. The snack bar and patio area is very nice, however you now have to hit off artifical turf which I personally did not like. If you go DO NOT wear golf shoes with spikes as I did. There is no give and I thought I blew out my knee. Just wanted people to be aware. I wore my golf shoes to the range, big mistake lol. I also did not like the fact that the tees do not go in far, so if you are driving from a tee be prepared to lose a bunch. They do have a nice facility though and family friendly. read more

I was shocked to find bad reviews posted in the driving range bathroom!. This place is so much better then it use to be. It is perfect for a beginner, teens , families and causal golfers. It provides shade and misters at the range. Snacks drinks and seating .Everyone is friendly and helpful. You get a HUGE bucket for a large ball basket , unlike other ranges. Love that they employ young adults that want to work . They are friendly and positive . You can wear what you want no dress code. They even play fun music . SUPER CAUSAL!! Was here today 2/21 for a 245 tee time. They overbooked with so many people on the course we teed off at 305 and then there was a wait 4 groups deep on hole 2. There were also 2 guys in front of us hitting off of tees for every shot. They need to do a better job managing the groups they send out. Got a refund so I gave a 3-star not a 1. I play here often and enjoy the course today just sucked because it's over booked and the 3 teenagers working aren't equipped to manage the course. This place has really transformed themselves recently. What used to be just another cheap course now really stands out. They decorated their driving range with lights and keep it open late while playing hip music. They are not at all "country club", and that's what makes it fun! The grass was actually in good shape too. Didn't play the course but we had a great time on the range. Perfect for people new to golf. read more

possibly the biggest dump in az. course is terrible, range is the absolute worst in the state. balls havent been changed in years, they are cut, water logged, sometimes given without being washed from the previous night. the mats are all ridgy, you put your ball down it rolls backwards. management and ownership, lol, possibly the worst people, the son is a class a pos, usually high and nasty. stay away, or go and you will see for yourself read more

This course is definitely for beginners, children, women, hacks, weekend warriors and people who don't replace their divots. Dirt/gravel cart paths, tee boxes next to greens and on top of mounds. No sand traps which is odd. No beverage cart. Way too many people on the course. We finished 3 holes in 1 hour. This place is definitely a goat ranch and they have allot of balls charging $47. If if you are an average or better golfer avoid this place at all costs. . read more

Friendly staff, reasonable prices, and a fun little course to focus on your short game makes this course worth your time. We played here in mid-March, and enjoyed meeting several Snowbirds from Canada who were living the retirement dream. Course was in decent shape, and the greens were challenging. We'll come again. Save your time/money and drive over to Western Skies or Toka Sticks and use the range/course there. Half the range is blocked off constantly and I'm not going to swing in a 3 foot wide area only to get blasted in the head by someone swinging a driver. read more

Excellent practice facility! Really impressed by the putting area. Club fitting and repair is directly behind the practice area, so you'll always be ready to play. Evening practice under the lights is a nice option to fit in a few more swings. Gil from Golf With Gil is an excellent coach and perfect addition to the staff at the course. Nice people in the pro shop, really nice practice area but really crappy golf course. Very little green grass - mostly dirt, gravel and dead grass. Easily the worse course in the valley. Players are mostly seniors and beginners because most of the holes are par 3s and very short par 4s and par 5s. Consequently pace of play is very slow. There are plenty of better courses in the area for about the same price. Go elsewhere. read more

While this is not my favorite course in Gilbert the golf instructor Gil more than makes up for any shortcomings you may find on the course. Gil knows golf and shares his deep understanding expertly!. He was fun and lighthearted but also serious about the game. I loved all the data and research he has to drive his instruction he was very professional. He gave me plenty of homework and told me to call him when I'm ready to learn more. AVOID THIS PLACE. This golf course and range are in bad shape. The place needs so many things. The parking lot has holes and is crowed. The entry street is not maintained. It has beds on either side of the street that are not maintained or trimmed. There are holes in the grass area and dead trees.The palm trees are not shaved down and part of the unshaved palm trees just fall on golfers in many areas. There are weeds next to the shop everywhere. The building has not been painted in 25 years. They are trying to sell wedding packages but the spot where a wedding would be has no landscaping or flowers and is next to a rock bed full of weeds. The unshaved palm trees in the wedding venue area are a hazard for guests. In looking at the how things are kept as you come in you can only imagine the state of the golf and range. read more

Good driving range facilities for the hot summer days with lots of shade and misters. They turned the misters on about 9am so just know if you go earlier they might not be on. Guy at the pro shop said it depends on the temperature as to when they turned on. At around 9am it was just about 100. I paid $12 for a medium bucket (~80 balls). They have TopTracer but that is an extra charge, $27.50 for the hour with unlimited balls. If you are looking for TopTracer I would recommend checking out Augusta Ranch instead, they don't charge extra for it. Just like Augusta Ranch you are hitting off mats so consider that. There are a few small holes in the mats you can jam a tee into if your lucky, but not every lane has that so check them out first before you pick a lane if you are wanting to practice your drives/tee shots. Overall a good driving range but I took 1 star off for mats and 1 star off for the fact that you have to pay extra for TopTracer. read more

Gil Benavidez is a great guy! Did a professional repair on my 3 wood when I snapped the shaft while smacking balls there on the range. Gave me a very fair price and did excellent work! Haven't had a lesson from him, but I hear he's a very capable and helpful teaching pro. The staff there was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Even stayed a little late and waited for me when I had to run to the bank because I forgot to bring cash. Course was in pretty horrible shape when I played last weekend. Got up to the 8th hole but there was no green and it basically just turned into the 9th hole, very confusing course and easy to get lost. To many par 3's so if that's your thing cool but but about 4/5 times the next whole was a par 3. Overall not worth the money for what your getting. read more

We have been golfing at Greenfield Lakes throughout this summer and we really enjoy the course! They always have great customer service. We just had our first lesson with Gil and he was absolutely fantastic! We learned more within 2 hours with his instruction, then we ever would have known golfing in frustration on our own. I have played all of the Gilbert/Chandler golf courses and with the exception of this course they are well maintained and are as good as many higher priced courses in the area. This course as other reviews have stated is laid out nicely but poorly maintained. The ruff is comprised of dead grass. The greens are even worse. Your putt will jump around like on a cobblestone street. Save yourself a headache and skip this track. P.S.- An "instructor" on the range was very rude when I was hitting my warmup shots. read more

I would like to inform management or ownership of the terrible customer experience that I had on Sunday, October 28, at the driving range. My plans were to use the practice facility in the evening, so I had made a call earlier in the evening to confirm the hours that the lights would remain on. During the phone call I was informed that the lights would be on until 10:00 p.m and that starting November 1, the lights would be on until 9:00 p.m. There was absolutely no mention of Sunday hours being shortened. Furthermore I know this to be true as I had hit balls on Sunday nights up until 10:00 p.m. on numerous Sunday evenings this year. Upon my arrival at 9:00 p.m., I walked up towards the practice area and noticed the employee on duty locking up the facility. I asked him if he was closing and he said "yes." I informed him that I had called earlier and that he told me the lights would be on until 10:00 p.m. He denied saying that he told me that and that it was "normal procedure for Sunday's to close at 9:00." Furthermore, I asked him if there was another employee on duty that evening and he said no. This question was asked as to narrow down the possibility that I had spoken with someone else earlier when I called. Furthermore, when I asked this individual for his name, he refused. Well, I know he drives a silver Mustang, so that should narrow it down some. What is particularly infuriating to me is the fact that I drove from Ahwatukee to hit balls at your facility. The employee lied to me twice. If you advertise that you're open at a certain time, honor that advertisement. If I was informed over the phone that the facility would close early if it was slow, I would've never made the drive over. P.S. I've since emailed this information to Greenfield Lakes and have not received any response. Amazing customer service guys! read more

This review is strictly for the driving range! We went on a Saturday at 9a to hit a bucket of balls. 1. The ball machine was empty? Really? 2. We were told somebody was going to come fill up the machine. 3. Two customers stood around waiting while the kid scooped balls out of a trash can, through a machine and into milk crates. 4. We then waited while he loaded up a golf cart with all the milk crates. 5. We then waited while he drove around the building to the machine. 6. We then waited while he walked back to the clubhouse to get a key for the little room. 7. Then we waited while he filled the machine full of balls. All this time, the ranger was walking back and forth getting carts out of the shack. In my opinion, there were multiple times when either the kid or the ranger could have offered the 2 waiting customers a bucket of balls (even if it was small) rather than making us stand around and wait for the whole process to finish. I would have gladly paid, but come on, take care of your waiting customers. And yes, I should be patient, which I was. But I don't feel this was the proper way to handle waiting customers. The reason I went up to 3 stars was because the of the grass tee boxes instead of mats. But, I don't plan on going back. I have too many other choices. read more

To the owners of Greenfield: Love this course. I come here to practice my 3-par game. The course is nice and the staff is fantastic. I've been here a few times now and the pro shop staff has been nothing, but friendly and accommodating. I also took a private lesson with Gil and I love his school of thought. He's an expert and makes you think about your game differently. He offers a holistic approach to golf rather than just your mechanics. He taught me a routine/practice that I never thought about before walking up to my ball. It's something I can take with me to every practice. Love Greenfield and Gil!! read more

This review is for the practice area only. The practice area seems to be in very good condition. The tees are fairly level and there is actually grass on it to hit off of (rather than dirt) like it used to be. Gil seems to be a pretty decent guy I watched him with some of the other customers and i think he really care about the customers and his range. Sorry to give this course one star but this place is a mess. Electric carts are allowed ANYWHERE on the course so what fairway grass they have on par 3's is destroyed. Greens are good but that's the only positive comment I can give this place. Sorry for being so critical because with good management this could be a decent short course to play. Let me start by saying that the only reason they get 2 stars instead of 1 is because I didn't actually get to play the course. So I cannot judge it. I called roughly 3 hours before the time I was going to arrive and asked if I could make a tee time for myself and 2 other non players to ride along. I was told since I wAs the only one playing that I wouldn't need a tee time and that I could just squeeze in between groups. I arrive and I am "greeted" by an Asian guy(which from other reviews I'm guessing is probably the same guy that others encountered) that doesn't even give me any acknowledgement at the front desk. Once he greets me I then say that it will be myself and 2 non players. He then explains to me that I will have to pay an extra cart fee which is fine. Then I ask him if he gives any sort of military discount and he responds with a sarcastic laugh and says no. I said ok no big deal. He then tells me that the soonest tee time is over an hour from then. I explain to him and gave him the name of the person I spoke to earlier about not needing a tee time and he responded with "he doesn't know what he's talking about and we don't do that. You will need a tee time". I then thanked him for wasting my time and left with my family. It looked like a nice place but I think that they need to get rid of that douche(again, other reviewers may be able to attest) if they want a good reputation. read more

We have played here several times over the last few years and it was nice and empty in the summer with great prices.... Went here about 2 weeks ago and in the middle of the course, there is frisbee golf? How exactly am I supposed to drive my ball into 4 guys in the middle of the green? After skipping 2 holes due to not wanting to line drive someone we ended up at the 18th hole to have another group of this happening. I'm all for doing either golf or frisbee golf but in the middle of a green and having everyone playing at the same time? Who does that? Will not be back. read more

First time golfing at this course and it was very much a subpar experience. I really had high hopes after reading their website description which calls the course one of the "gems" of Maricopa county. Pretty lofty claim for sure. The golf course itself could definitely use a lot of work as most of the tee boxes are chock full of unrepaired divets, there are a ton of muddy patches in the middle of greens and much of the course itself is in need of reseeding. All of this could be overlooked given the reasonable price but the service from the staff makes this one golf course I may not return to in the future. One of the golf course rangers is down right cantankerous and talked down to almost everyone as if they were children. The front desk staff barely even acknowledged our group and there was no one around at the golf cart return. This could be a great local place if only they worked on customer appreciation. Really good experience. Betty really took care of us before we even got started and there was plenty of parking & driving lanes for pre-play. Also, it helped to have a beer vendor swing by at least twice during our play. The fairways and greens were taken care of and didn't notice tee boxes having any issues as well. I will say that I've never been to a course w/o a sand bunker before which struck me as odd, but was definitely a different experience with lots of Iron play instead of long Par 5s. Pros: reasonable cost ($60 for two people, 18 holes, cart), quick play (3 hours for 18), easier for beginners. Cons: course was in poor repair, greens were extremely slow, basically a par 3 course. My wife and kids have never played so this will be a good course for us to use while they learn. read more

This review is strictly for the practice facility. I have come here a few times to hit balls late at night because it is one of the only places that is open light and has a lit driving range. The times I have come, the range was set to hit up off grass instead of mats which is 10 times better. There large bucket of balls is absolutely massive. The chipping and putting green is well maintained so practicing is easy. The only thing that I do not like about the range is the balls themselves. They are old and chewed up which can make for some rather interesting ball flights. read more

I am not a ball Golfer, however I am one of the Disc Golfers that is out there on occasion. I appreciate the disc golf course and the way they have it nestled among the ball course. It is a beautiful layout and well integrated. I see some of the reviews where folks were upset that disc golfers were on the greens. The greens are out of bounds for disc golfers. They should not be there except to retrieve an errant disc. Ball golfers have the right of way (a point made clear at every check-in), and I have not seeing any instances where disc golfers failed to yield, but I am sure it happens on occasion. The Disc Golf community is very fortunate to have this local resource. I believe the ball Golf community is, as well. read more

So I've recently become a huge fan of playing golf, something I never thought I'd enjoy as much as I do, but it's a great outdoor activity that my boyfriend and I can enjoy together. We've been trying to experience many of the beautiful courses that Arizona has to offer and Greenfield Lakes is a great choice. Keep in mind I'm a beginning golfer so most courses will be challenging for me. I really enjoyed my time on Greenfield Lakes. The scenery was nice as holes are tucked in between houses and neighborhoods. The greens are well kept and they have a cart girl that goes around offering $3 beers. This course is expanding to bring an indoor golf range among other things that will make it a great stop for all your golf needs. The staff was friendly and everything went smoothly. If I lived in that area of town, I would find myself there regularly. read more
