When I had first visited and found out that they do wine bingo, I knew I had to come back. My bestie and I used to love going to Wine Market & Table for wine bingo, but after they closed a few years ago we never found anyone else who did it. Solely Wine has solved that! They have a nice selection of wines available by the glass, but they also have a much larger selection of wines, separated by type, that you can buy by the bottle (you can't grab them yourself off the shelf, a staff member has to do that) to open and drink there or take home. My friends and I each started out with just a glass of wine and then ended up buying some bottles to share while playing bingo since we were staying for a few hours and it was a better price point to share bottles. It can get expensive buying by the glass. They also have some snacks/appetizers available for purchase if you get hungry. The inside has lots of different seating options: cozy arm chairs and couches, large family-dinner-style tables, and smaller tables along the windows. They also have a beautiful patio! Towards the back they also have an art gallery and additional seating, although I don't think that space is always open. The bathroom is kept very clean and the staff are helpful and attentive. Can't wait to come back for another girls night.

I loved their vibe. Two bottles of wine with lunch! How luxurious. It's these little things that we do for ourselves, while the world crumbles around us, that matter the most. Anyway! A friend turned me on to this place. I love wine, and red wine specifically, so I made a point to visit. I'm so glad I did! 305 Wine Garage is a gem. Like I mentioned, they literally have a wall of wine in the restaurant. Each bottle is labeled with the price, and they have so many different varieties. I sat near the Italian wines because I love Italian wines the most. I treated myself to brunch, which they only offer on weekends. During the winter, they're only open 50% of the weekend (Saturdays), but talking to my server, it sounds like they will open on Sundays starting in late March and through the summer. I got the Smoked Salmon Everything, which is smoked salmon, cream cheese, red onion, capers, chopped hard-boiled egg, grape tomatoes and crostini. I didn't know what it would look like before I ordered it, but I knew I liked all of the components and only wanted a little something to nibble on. This sounded like it could look like anything: Will all of the ingredients be topped on the crostini? Will it be presented as a dip? But it came out like a piece of art. They really pay attention to details here. You can order wine by the glass, by the bottle or by the flight. I got a glass of Malbec, and it was delicious. One thing to note is: This joint is 21+ only! But the server said that he sometimes sees people come in with kids, and in those cases, he will seat them in a different room. Or, if the weather is nice, families are welcome to sit at the outdoor patio. This is definitely not a place that would appeal to kids, though. This is a place that you visit to get away from kids.

Thank you for inspiring me to stop being a spectator and start contributing to the community. Now, on to the review! 305 Wine Garage (also known as AJ's Wine & Dine Garage) has to be one of the best kept secrets in Fortville. As this area continues to experience growth, 305 Wine Garage will remain a gem. The Garage offers an inviting atmosphere with a great selection of wines and a surprisingly delicious food menu. For me, a nice glass of dry red and the Caprese salad are always a great combination. The staff are knowledgeable and always helpful. And the last time I visited, she gave me a heavy pour to finish off the bottle. If you ever find yourself in downtown Fortville, look for the train mural and stop in at 305 Wine Garage. It is a great destination for a night out. Or, like me, use it as the perfect first stop to begin the evening.

It's not much to look at from the outside - in small strip mall off Fall Creek about 2 miles north of 96th, but the inside is both luxe and comfortably cozy. At just 12 tables, you get your table for the night, so there is no rush and your evening can be as long as you want to make it. They also have a gorgeous little side wine room that you can rent for parties of 6-8 for dinner. And there's a little bar area that seats maybe 4-6. We had reservations for 6pm, so there were only 2 or 3 other tables occupied when we got there, but they filled throughout the night (& we left close to 8pm). Our server Shaunda was delightful, and the owner Dan came around and checked on all the tables a few times as well. We were presented with a cous cous amuse bouche, a nice refreshing bite to start the evening. Hubs had an Italian Old Fashioned and I asked our server to pair wine for me, so it was a Decoy Sauv Blanc with our first course - the mussels. We asked for extra crostinis in order to soak up more of the delicious sauce they came in. Next was the beet arugula salad, so good! For entrees, hubs had the pappardelle bolognaise and got an iced T, and I had the short ribs with risotto, paired with a glass of cab franc. Dessert was coffee (americano) for each of us, and we split the tiramisu (see all my pics). We ate and enjoyed everything! Total with tax was right at 200 before gratuity. So this is more of a splurge place for us, (of course would be less without the beverages we did) but we will be back. It was a really pleasant evening and another big win for me picking birthday places! #yum #ReviewsByRL

Once parked (plenty of parking right outside their door), walking in it is a very intimate, maybe no more than 12 tables or so. We did have reservations, I would suggest making them to be on the safe side since it is so small. As soon as we sat down, our server came right over and explained how the menu is laid out and how the courses are brought out. I will say, this is not a place to go when you are rush. It is meant to be slow, so you can settle in and enjoy your food, enjoy the company and just be in the moment. We were probably there just over 2 hours for just the two of us. Chef Dan came out many times to chat with us and really made us feel welcome. Telling us different stories, walking us through what we were eating, and just made us feel like we were special. While everything was amazing, a few standout things I would like to mention: The Mussels were amazing, such good flavor so if you are fan, make sure you order them. The caesar salad comes disassembled, and the anchovies are sold separately, (I didn't realize it when I ordered it), we ordered a few desserts and they were all amazing. Can't go wrong there.

This is the driest wine that Daniel's Vineyard makes. Everything else gets sweeter from here, in my opinion. The Circle City Red is the driest wine, but it is almost just a touch too sweet, even still. That cloying, cough-syrup essence is there in the background. But that's the way it goes with Indiana wines: They are perfect for sweet-wine lovers. I feel like Daniel's is an event venue first, and a winery second, and a restaurant third. When I visited, they had paper menus printed, and there were eight things on the food menu, and four of them were pizzas. They have a brick oven, so they fire up their pizzas, and they come out with nicely charred crusts. You can get gluten-free crust, too, if that's something that you want. The other things on the menu were breadsticks, a charcuterie board, a Greek salad and a Caesar salad. On their website, they had other food listed, but I think the menu might change depending on the day. Basically, you visit Daniel's to enjoy some wine and relax in their outdoor space. This is a choice place to visit on a nice day, because then you can kick it at a table on the patio and look out at their vineyard while drinking something nice. (Or look at people practicing for their wedding ceremony, like what was happening in front of me when I was there.) Sometimes, there's live music or events. Dogs are welcome on the patio, too. The space is dog-friendly and family-friendly, which is always nice to see at a winery.

The avocado toast tasted like Sabra guac and if I'm paying $22 it should at least taste like avocado. The roasted beef brisket hash had an oddly sweet sour cream that was off putting and the meat was a little dry. We also had gotten a Caesar salad (added chicken) and fries. Fries tasted good but they were soggy. The caesar salad came out without chicken and we didn't end up getting the chicken breast until we were done with our salad. The server was nice enough but unorganized and kept forgetting things (sugar, milk for coffee) & had gotten the coffee order wrong (we didn't even bother asking to fix it because it was just a lot ) Also did try the cinnamon roll croissant thing- pretty crispy but that was the texture i expected, the inside was better but needed more of the frosting! All this and more can be yours when you visit Wine & Rind. At least, all that and more was mine when I visited. This is my ideal restaurant: wine focused, with a succinct menu of beautifully presented and thoughtfully created food. Plus, it's located right off the Monon Trail in Midtown Carmel, so it's a prime space for people-watching. This little restaurant is a great place to get a charcuterie platter, but I was feeling like bruschetta when I visited, so I ordered the Bruschetta Sampler, which is plenty for two people. It comes out like artwork on a wooden platter: five beautiful bruschetta toasts consisting of traditional tomato; fig and bleu cheese; capocollo and a herbed ricotta; blueberry and lemon ricotta with sugar sprinkled on top; and strawberry and cannoli cream with balsamic. The last one (strawberry and balsamic with cannoli cream) was surprising and might have been my favorite, because it tasted like cheesecake. I love being surprised! I also ordered the caprese salad, which was a wonderfully tasty platter of tomato, mozzarella, basil, pesto, olive oil, balsamic glaze and Maldon salt. It was so fresh and light. Another surprise: It was sprinkled with sprouts! I would have never thought to add that to a caprese, but it 100% worked. The service here is top-notch. The server was super nice and attentive, but also disappeared and only reappeared when necessary. Wine & Rind is a Carmel gem! I know I'll be back soon to try more of the menu, and drink more of the wine.
