My favorite place right now. The best food, drinks and such a comfortable atmosphere. My favorites on the menu are the Mediterranean pizza (well done... we always order our pizzas well done and The Greenhouse is the ONLY place that gets it RIGHT)... best pizza EVER and the Jameson quesadilla (which is in the appetizer section of the menu but makes a PERFECT meal)! ... and I can't forget the Downeast cider which they serve ICY cold. Got takeout tonight from them. This is not our first time, we've had takeout many times over the years. My wife ordered the Fenway pizza & said it tasted like somebody spilled salt all over it. It was way too salty. I got the Jameson steak tips which I always get. What I got was 4 plain steak tips, no mashed potatoes, no Jameson gravy & no onion rings. Talk about disappointed. Tasted very plain. I've noticed that the food isn't as good or as described compared to a couple of years ago. read more

I've driven by this place so many times and finally stopped in. Not a very large place, but the space is used well. Two bars and multiple small to medium size tables. We were sate right away by a friendly staff member and then our server, who also was the bartender, took good care of us. He always showed up when we needed him but was not overbearing. We started with a Guinness of course, it was perfectly poured and hit the spot. We then ordered some chicken wings and they were perfectly crispy. The habanero sauce was a killer, but so good. Wife then had a Greek salad with chicken. A large salad with a nice grilled chicken breast. I went with the chicken avocado wrap and was happy I did. Very tasty and the side of fries were extra crispy. As this is close to where we live I imagine it will become a go to spot read more

Really like the vibe of this local favorite. We were greeted immediately and chose a corner table by the fireplace. Menus arrived quickly my drink orders taken. There were quite a few specials as well as a nice pub menu. I decided on the eggplant parm sandwich and my date ordered a cheeseburger and fries. The eggplant was fried nicely, with just a little crispiness at the edges. The sauce was tasty. The cheese was melted. The roll was fresh and lightly toasted. A nice surprise was that it came with broccoli - not overcooked, served hot and nicely spiced with a light spritz of oil. The burger looked good and was cooked as ordered - medium, with a nice pink center. A good pub can often be judged by it's French fries and this place passed the test easily. They were just right - nothing fancy, just a good all American batch of fries. The highlight of the meal was desert. I am not a sweets person, normally, but never pass up a chance to try bread pudding. The desserts here are homemade and the menu changes daily. We shared a Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding. My date initially protested when I requested two spoons. However, he couldn't resist having more that "just one bite." And there was plenty for two, including two scoops of vanilla ice cream and a generous portion of whipped cream. The sandwich and burger were good, but not amazing. The bread pudding was outstanding. The service and atmosphere were excellent. Definitely worth a return trip to try the wood fired pizza, which is the house specialty. read more

The food was horrible. I've been there a few times over the years, and I don't recall it being this bad. Got bone-in wings with dry rub. They were doused with a buffalo salt rub, so much I couldn't wipe it off without still tasting only salt. Also got a Margerita pizza. They used a heavey red sause and no basil. Nice little Pub type place. Food was pub style but better. Sat at the bar and ordered appetizer of wings an entree of stew and a pizza. The strew very good but a small size portion for a main entree the pizza was also good but took 45 minutes to get. Everyone else in our party was fine by time pizza came out. I love this place! I've been going to Greenhouse Grill since it opened many years ago. I have had a lot of the menu... and I've never had a bad meal. Ever. Before Covid I would frequent the beer out front and then also the back bar after the renovation. I've enjoy nice cold beers, prompt service, great staff and a great owner (who I have met on a handful of occasions, love the Jeep btw) Tonight we ordered out for the family. 2 grilled chicken sandwich's, 2 burgers, a Jameson and a Bruin pizza for me! Soooo good!!! This place gets 5 stars from me and my whole family! Trust me, don't trust the 2.5 stars... it's 5 all day long! Food was terrible, service was terrible had to ask for napkins twice, and even had to ask for silverware. We started off with the lemon pepper dry rub wings. It was almost inedible. We had to use napkins to rub off the overpowering lemon to eat it. The pizza was gross, and looked nothing like the photos. One of the worst dining experiences we have ever had. read more

Last Friday we used the front "private" area to host a get together to celebrate a friend's birthday and we were all ecstatic about the service (thank you Dan and Marcelo!) and food here. Staff was on top of everyone's needs, food came out at perfect time, the pizza was SO good. And the room was perfect for us (there was between 20-30 people). Disappointing for our area. Not many local Restaurants so naturally I was excited like everyone else, been going here since they opened and its awesome that they expanded the bar. The space is great, especially with outdoor seating. The food and service though have made no improvement. Some bartender/waitstaff are awesome and other nights they are rude, inattentive, and slow (though sometimes kitchens fault). The food is hit or miss. Have had great meals, terrible, and in between. Either way nothing to right home about. So expect mediocre bar food and toss your dices on the service! read more

I have loved this place since it opened and I heard about it on the Phantom Gourmet. I'm not a "bar" guy so I was disappointed when it got rid of much of the indoor dining and made a larger bar area. Gets pretty loud and hard to relax. BUT....GREAT FOOD!! So ignore the noise and dig in! You can't lose with anything on this menu but my favs are the Ruben sandwich, Shepards pie and their famous steak tips. read more

We just ordered a few meals tonight for takeout from Greenhouse Wood fire. The beef stew we ordered was as if It was rubber cubes. The potatoes were barely cooked. Not fresh food. The turkey club I ordered was so dry & bland I could not eat it. The bacon was so over cooked or maybe it was microwaved bacon. When this place first opened it was fantastic, now it's just awful. we recently went to the Greenhouse, having been there many times before. It's always been too noisy, but our most recent visit will be our last. There were 4 of us and the server consistently brought 3 items- place setting, water , menus. All 4 of us were seated, mind you. she took our orders and disappeared. Asking for a 4th set of silverware caused her to cry and she wouldn't wait on us anymore. While we were waiting for an hour for our food, a nearby table of business types were drinking and swearing at high volume. When we asked for a manager we were told there isn't one and that they never ask people to keep it down. 0 stars for atmosphere and service, 1 star for the food. Don't bother. read more

Came here with my son for the Monday night all you can eat wings. I'm giving this review 3 stars. But I should point out that the waitress earned at least 4 and the atmosphere was at least a 4 too. But then the wings... I don't really know how to explain it. Im a big fan of wings and eat them many places. This just wasn't good. First, the boneless wings were like the size of chicken tenders. Big long strips. The buffalo flavor was a bit off. I also ordered some bone-in Jamaican jerk. They were burnt and tasted nothing like what I've had elsewhere. But the worst part was this pool of oil at the bottom of the plate. I'm guessing the chef pulled them right out of the fryer and dumped them still dripping on the plate. Very unappealing. So I'd give the wings a 1 or 2. Frankly I would come back and try something else on the menu. I'm guessing they do Irish food and burgers better. They just don't do wings. read more

I used to go to this place at least once a month. My husband and I usually go in the summer and enjoy the indoor/outdoor bar. The past few times we went the service was terrible and the food was just okay. We were 2 of only about 8 people in the restaurant and the bartender kept chatting with the regulars and ignoring our empty drinks. The liquor selection was lacking and when we asked the bartender if the owner ever entertained requests she just laughed. I hear there is a new manager. We may give it one more try this summer and add a few stars? Unfortunately we were sorely disappointed the last few times. read more

I stopped in to pick up takeout fish&chips. Great as always. What shocked me was the number of patrons in this small place, maskless. Mendon is a Coronavirus hotspot in Massachusetts. I think I found the reason why. I feel terrible for the employees. They are at such high risk for little reward. If this is an example of how people act in a pandemic, there is little hope to avoid extinction due to climate change. It's just too much to ask the ordinary person to wrap their heads around a problem that is not affecting them immediately like stepping on a nail or picking up a hot pan. I expect that at least one of the people I saw pretending that everything is normal will be hospitalized or maybe worse before Christmas. So sad. I'll have to wait until Greenhouse goes back to curbside pickup to order again. read more

Overall, decent food and good service. We came in with friends before visiting Southwick's Zoo. The Good: We came right when they opened, so we were one of the only customers. Two of my friends each ordered a Bloody Mary and those were impressive and spicy. My other friends ordered sangria and a margarita. Both looked good and they enjoyed their drinks. My husband and I ordered burgers that were both yummy. I got sweet potato fries that were good. The mozzarella sticks were tasty! The bathroom was clean, the atmosphere was nice because it was sunny:) The Bad: I found a small black hair in my fries. The table was dirty. I didn't say anything because I was able to avoid the hair. We had two waitresses and it was a little over done in that area. Not near where I live, so may or may not be back. read more

Arrived here on a Sunday night. Asked for a margarita made fresh. Watched the angry bartender go around the corner and make it with a mix. Apparently, she didn't know how or want to try. Service was mediocre and there was literally 16 people in the bar. Asked for wings crispy, female blonde bartender was angry I complained and refused to even look at me. About on pare with my experiences in Worcester county to date. Expect little, get less than you expect. Hint to the bartender: if you don't like working Sunday's or with customers who aren't your regulars, do us all a favor and don't bother trying. Mailing it in isn't doing your job. Won't be back. If I were to describe my experience with one word it would be disappointing. I was expecting this place to be a 10/10 between what I had heard and because of how cute it was. Unfortunately ambience does not mean good food. I've been here two separate occasions, and both times the food was underwhelming and unappealing. My first visit I got chili. It was too bean heavy, and under seasoned. I can only otherwise describe it as dry. My second visit I got French onion soup, a pub classic. Upon first appearance it was definitely not fresh out of the oven. The top layer of cheese was hard as rock, and there was maybe a spoonful of broth among the onions and stray bay leaves. All I know is after this last experience I was left feeling not only hungry but sad, and I will not be returning. read more

As far as the food goes though it's incredible. The boneless wings are fantastic, when they used to do all you can eat wings on Monday's I would go and eat a ton! We ordered 3 different flavored boneless chicken fingers, white pizza, and a fun appetizer lasagna nachos. Let's start the white pizza was pretty good. No complaints. Lasagna nachos may have been a great idea as a thought but executed poorly. Just pita chips which are burnt on top with cheese and sausage. The cheese was not melted. Just cold shredded cheese. No sauce. Now..the chicken. I tried one flavor can't tell you how it was because it was so cold it took all I had to swallow it. Then I tried another flavor, took a bite and it felt weird I looked and it was green. We told the waitress who was nice and told us she would take the chicken off the bill. She called the "chef" out who shoved his finger in the chicken and said it's an onion ring. And walked away. Just gross. read more

Had the pleasure of eating here this past weekend. Nicely decorated Irish pub feel with plenty of tvs in a cozy dining room. It wasn't busy so I can't speak to some of the service issues that were being stated in other reviews. The food was ok, I got the white pizza with meatballs. Pizza was quite salty and their was barely a sprinkle of minced up meatballs on it. Pretty sure I paid a surcharge for an extra topping. My wife got the steak tips which were cooked nicely but still on the salty side. I could see service issues popping up on busy nights though. I would give this place another shot when the weather warms up. read more

I've eaten at two offsite events now that I've found to be catered by these guys. The beef brisket at the first dinner really was incredible. And this last time, I have to say it was the best porketta I have ever had. The catering side of this restaurant is recommended. A little pricy but you can see the effort they put in towards a great meal. As for the restaurant, I can't decide if the beef stew or the beer-battered turkey is my new favorite thing on the menu. I've had the unlimited chicken wing deal here twice now with 4 different flavors. Mixed feelings on it. On one hand, the chicken is cooked to perfection. I mean seriously perfect each time. But the sauces are just lacking in overall flavor. They are ok but don't really stand out, and in some cases like the spicy teriyaki, just seem watered down in taste. The staff is awesome. Very attentive and reasonably quick. I've only been there for the quiet times of the day though. Sitting near the open window to the patio on a warm autumn day was a mistake.
