Here I am about two years later having to make another frantic, late night call to Dominique. My sump pump finally died and, of course, it was while bedtime baths, dishwasher, and laundry were all in full swing. Had some standing water around our septic tank this am. Called Green's and they came out same day. Few months ago I had called someone else out they could not locate the 2nd drain top was buried to pump it then so they left. Green's located in 5 minutes and pumped out the septic tank. Dominique was so helpful throughout the entire experience of getting a new tank and drain field. His crew managed to navigate my corner lot surrounded by easement ditches and fit 400 square feet of drain field in the yard. I was able to save money by removing bushes beforehand. Green's was timely and the service and communication was good. For pumping, my situation was challenging. There were irrigation pipes that covered access to one of the lids. Everything seemed good during the service. They did tell us we probably had a failed drain field. After the pumping, the septic tank filled up again and we were having backups into the house again within 3 weeks, a couple weeks after Hurricane Ian. We dug up the tank again and found that the corner of one lid was broken off. The other lid had a wire that ran across the tank snagged underneath a corner of the lid and preventing a good seal. Everything seemed good at the time of service, but the issues with properly re-seating lids after service were problematic, and the improperly sealed lids let in lots of water rapidly with the wet ground from the rains during Ian. Maybe it was just a difficult tank setup and bad luck? Anyway, I'll try another company to work on my drain field repair/replacement. read more

They came to install my new drain field at 7:30 in the morning. When I saw the inspector inspecting the installation at 11am, I couldn't believe my eyes! The job was ready for inspection and within an hour and a half later the job was finished and covered! When I signed the contract, they told me it would happen this way but I still had a bit of doubt in my mind if it was going to be installed that fast. My understanding is that the owner is a master septic tank contractor and as a privilege to get some time inspection that justifies why the inspector came on the same day as the installation. Now my yard is ready for my landscaper to put the sprinkler back as well as the sod. I am very pleased by the work done by Green's Environmental and their professionalism. read more

We contracted this company to replace out septic field on the recommendation of the plumber we've regularly used through the years. Bad mistake. Our house is on a slope, and because of a new garage that we're looking to build we asked the company to place the new septic field to one side of our front yard in order to leave enough space for the new garage's footprint. The owner of the company took into account all that was asked of him, marked out an appropriate area of the lawn that fell into compliance with our requests, and also agreed that the extra soil that would result from the excavation and installation of the new field would be left on site, rather than being carted away, as we had a need for it elsewhere on our property. When the crew arrived at a later date to actually perform the work the guy in charge took it upon himself to ignore the company owner's guidelines and chose to move the field further up the slope and closer to our new garage's footprint, though it was hard to tell just from watching them dig the hole where the line would actually be. Worse was the thought that it seemed, as work was progressing, that enough allowance hadn't been made for the slope on the site insofar as the hole seemed too shallow at the lower extremity for the new field to sit flush with the pre-existing lie of the land. That assumption proved correct. By the time the crew had finished laying the soil back over the area, they'd left a pronounced mound which completely ruined the natural lie of the land and placed us in the position of either having to cart in extra soil to try and somehow rectify the carnage, employ another company to redo the whole thing - at additional expense of course - or just learn to live with the unsightly mess. The owner of the company was apprised of the situation and claimed he'd send the crew back out to remedy the situation be 'leveling' the soil but all we got when the crew came back out was an insulting presumption that we were somehow stupid ('I can't see any mound - really - where is it?') accompanied by an appropriate pantomime. When asked why they hadn't simply done the job properly and taken the hole down the extra foot or so that was required, the guy in charge resorted to the time-honored behavior of all who have screwed up a job and don't wish to accept responsibility for their mistakes - lying. He claimed that the field had been set as deep as it could go and that anything else would have compromised the system. Funny how that had never been mentioned at the start, nor any mention of a mound being left behind, and when reminded of the agreement to leave behind the soil from the job (which of course would have been the case had they left the area as flat as they'd found it) he then shot down his own argument by claiming that it had been 'needed' to lay adequate cover over the shallower area at the lower end of the slope. Bottom line? Having been sent out by the company owner to fix the screw-up, the crew left without doing anything, because they knew they couldn't so without starting from scratch, tearing up the field, and digging the hole down the extra foot or two that it required in the first place. Through either basic laziness or sheer ineptitude, they completely messed the job up and left us to try and salvage it. Not only that, but the manner with which they spread the soil about to try and even out the mound left us with an even greater area to lay sod over - more money. As if the mess wasn't enough, they also didn't clean up the debris left over from the job (tree stumps, branches, etc) because the guy claimed we would have to pay extra for the work. We were mystified, as we though the cartage had been included in the overall charge and didn't want to pay out more money in such uncertainty. We ended up being proven correct when the owner of the business later refunded us the cartage fee. It also seems very petty to pay out thousands to a company to install a new septic field, only to have them nickel and dime you by insisting that you yourself go out and buy the copper granules they insist upon spreading around to discourage tree roots from growing into the system. Lastly, to give you a further insight into what we were dealing with on site, as it was a chilly morning I started out the day in goodwill by asking the crew if I could make them some coffee to warm them up. Fine they said. By the end of the day the guy in charge was brazenly instructing his assistant to get me to make more coffee! I wouldn't go near this company if they offered to do a job for me for nothing. What's the point if they end up leaving you with a mess that ruins the landscape and leaves you with a hefty bill to rectify? I also don't appreciate the insulting attitude from people who obviously don't have the integrity to either do a job properly and accept liability for their mistakes but prefer to simply just try and BS their way out of a situation.
