I love my local MiLB team. The Grasshoppers had a solid season this summer and a somewhat decent close out. They made it to the playoffs, and it was cool catching their games into September. Fireworks still go off for home runs and during the weekend games. Their games are always a treat, and the stadium can pour a pretty good draft beer to go along with it. Not a beer fan? Super fun Friday night outing with the family! Having lived in the Bay Area just outside of San Francisco, I'm a big fan of the 49ers, Giants and Warriors. Taking my family of 4 to any of these for upper deck seats would easily run us $250-$350 with parking, tickets and food. Exponentially higher for better seats. You cannot beat the value and the amount of fun to be had here. Plenty of parking around the park, either for free a bit further or max $5 right by the stadium. Behind home plate seats were only $14, and you can get tickets for as low as $9. There really isn't a bad seat in the whole park. Great variety and quality of food, drinks and desserts. Something for everyone, and very reasonably priced for a ballpark. What makes it great for the whole family is the fun little shows, dances, races or t-shirt launchers they do almost every single inning. And if you go on a Friday or some Saturdays, they have a free fireworks show right inside the ballpark. Our whole family loved the show. You just can't beat it. They also have deals and specials throughout the week, such as 2 dog Tuesdays or Thirsty Thursdays. Fun time at the Greensboro Grasshoppers game last night for a change of pace. Ticket pricing isn't bad, and the best part of minor league baseball, the pros are so small, there is t a bad seat in the house. Also, a good part, unless the stadium is sold out, you can sit virtually anywhere you want! We grabbed some beer for Thirsty Thursday, which prices have definitely gone up since my last visit, but $3 dollars for most domestic beers (not crafts). Food was as you imagine, but the lines need to be figured out. It took far to long to get a hot dog, not sure what the hold up is, I know they aren't cooking them to order. All in all it was a good time though, and just something out of the ordinary, for a night of fun! read more

File this under reviews that I can't believe I haven't written, our local MiLB team! I remember when they built this downtown stadium, and everyone was so excited. Well, it has only become better over time as the area and busineses around it have developed, really giving it that downtown stadium feel. Now there is even an office building basically built into right field! Nice views from the corner offices there for sure. Going to a game here is always a relaxing evening, and sometimes you'll catch some great baseball. Our most recent trip was a nailbiter to the very end. We got to enjoy some of their in-house catering thanks to an employer sponsored event, and while I wouldn't call it overly remarkable in any regard, it also wasn't bad. A spread of basic hot dogs, pork and chicken bbq sandwiches, baked beans, mac n cheese, chips, cookies, and drinks. The stadium remains clean, well kept, and there is a great view of the field no matter where you post up. Ticket prices are still inexpensive, and concession prices are competitive with the other teams in the area. Nets extend all the way down the baselines these days, so your only "heads up" moments are going to be pop fly fouls. Parking is easy, and you can even find free parking with a short walk. The only times it can get crowded are on Thirsty Thursday or holidays like July 4. Go Hoppers! read more

The Triad and NC are just full of great minor and independent league baseball. The Grasshoppers are a highlight for the Triad. We visited as fans of their rival Winston-Salem Dash and were welcomed in. It's a great stadium right in downtown Greensboro. Parking is easy for $5 or so. The concourse area is huge and allows easy movement. I do really appreciate stadiums where you can walk all the way around, and this one does not have that....you have to stop and turn around at the right field pole and left center. The team store is really nice, but somehow didn't have logo mini bats which is what we collect for our daughters stadium visits. The concessions are well spread out with many options. There's a great bar area in left field. We didn't eat, but the hotdogs smelled really good! And I have to note prices were great including a $4.50 hotdog. Ok so let me just start by saying the people watching was epic. Anywho-we went to a Saturday night game and it was pretty crowded, but they clearly know how to handle it! All the concessions were open and there were also plenty of other food/dessert/beer options along the concourse. Their team store has a diverse and nice selection of merch but definitely needs to bring back the mini bats. We LOVED when Ms Willie Mae Mayes came out to fetch the bats (2 of the grasshopper batting innings). What a game! Last night we went for one of many date nights to watch the Grasshoppers play baseball. I learned quite a bit. Although we enjoyed dinner at home before the game, they had $2 hot dogs (every Tuesday). A great deal for anyone looking for a meal with entertainment. The popcorn, my favorite snack, was fresh and delicious. We had perfect seats, right behind the home plate and they were reasonably priced! But what was most outstanding to me during this game was learning about the ins and outs of the game, including the rotation of pitchers, the speed at which they throw each ball, batting averages and other statistics. There's plenty of other entertainment including, music, fireworks for home runs hit, riddles and jokes, races, games and even tee shirt throws. The game got quite interesting when their relief pitcher came into the game. Now, let me just point out why this was the most pivotal moment of the game for me. This guy walked onto the field and instantly I said, "He is a superstar". I've never seen this guy in my life but after looking at his career stats, I'm wondering why he hasn't made it to the big league yet. I watched this man throw up to 97mph balls last night. Absolutely phenomenal! I was able to capture a photo of him serving up a fireball (97mph) last night. I have not been a fan of baseball because it just seemed like a slow sport. Last night, my mind was changed forever. I will be attending more games moving forward just because I'm intrigued now by understanding a bit more about the game. Way to go with the big win last night Grasshoppers! I'm looking forward to the next game we attend! The Grasshoppers team is one to watch. I haven't looked at their roster or additional stats yet but I can officially say that I am a baseball fan now. The stadium is always clean, well maintained, seats are comfortable and the staff is incredibly friendly. Concessions offer food, beverages and alcohol. I'll be 100% honest, I don't care about baseball. However, whether you are a fan of the sport or not going to a Grasshoppers game is a hopping good time. I go for the social aspect. There are plenty of areas to hang out and talk and not bother others truly watching the game. Generally, I attend on one of the "specials" nights where you can get cheap food and drinks. This recent season, $2 Tuesday was where it was at with $2 hot dogs, domestic drafts ($3 for premium drafts), and soda/waters. Enjoying a refreshing 12oz Leienkugel on a summer day out of the house for only $2 is a crazy good deal. They don't have as many good food options as they used to, assuming they had to cut back with COVID. There was some high end stuff I liked (like the loaded brats and premium pork nachos) but it's basically the more standard bar park items, so I'm more inclined to eat beforehand and just get a snack. But the stadium is very nice and it's a fun local thing to do. Tickets are very reasonable around $10 give or take depending what seats you buy. Great people watching too. I last came on a work outing. We had a certain section of seats and were each given some "Babe Bucks" to spend on concessions. Sadly, no Friday deals so this was appreciated as regular beer prices harder to swallow. It was a beautiful evening and a fun and mostly outdoor way socialize in this ongoing pandemic world. When people visit, I tend to bring them to the Hoppers if it's the right season. I do believe all can enjoy whatever your level of attachment to the game. Returning to First National Bank Park has been a much-needed endorphin boost. You really don't realize how much you miss Hoppin' Fun Fever and our goofy mascot until it's gone for a full year. The atmosphere is so fun! There's something for everyone at the games. Everything from a small playground for the kids to really great seats for the sports aficionados to party decks for rent. When I brought my parents from out of town they had a blast! You can get tickets online for an additional service fee or in person at the box office. Just get there early because there will be a line around game time. During the week gates open at 6 with the game starting at 6:30. I mostly attend for the socializing, beer deals, and cheap nachos. Mondays used to be the night they had the same deal as thirsty Thursdays, but this year that deal is on Tuesdays. If you want to avoid the crowds and still enjoy great prices, that is the way to go. Hot dogs are $2, 16oz domestic pours are $2 and 16oz craft are $3. It's the best deal in town! Pro tip: Don't waste the money on bottled water, they have water fountains in the park. read more

We have been attending grasshoppers games For the better part of 10 years and it's always a summer favorite in our household. The games are interactive so there is never a dull moment. We decided to check out the local baseball team and we had a great time. Tickets were cheap and parking was readily available. We saw they had a "bark in the park" option, so we took our pup out for her first ball game. The food and drink options were very affordable and they have drink and food specials for the weekday games. Bark in the Park tickets cost us ten bucks each and another three dollars for our "pup pass." The area designated for dogs was large enough to not feel crowded and they had a table set up that gave us free treats for the dog. Umbrella tables and grass areas for ten bucks is a steal. The team was fun to watch and the crowd was enjoyable. Edith (pup) was able to mingle when she wanted but had space to chill as well. We'll be back for games with and without the dog. I always enjoy a good evening at the ballpark. We went to the last home game of the season and it was pretty crowded. We were excited to see such a large crowd there! Which is the general admission seating and we scored some amazing seats! I will say the concession staffing was not adequate for the size crowd that attended. I waited in line 40 minutes for a hotdog and finally gave up because I was missing too much of the game. The beer selection remains grapes and the beer lines moved quickly. I definitely recommend going out to see the grasshoppers for a family outing or date night. It's so much fun! They also had fireworks since it was up was the last Time game of the season. I didn't know how much I missed the Grasshoppers until my son and I finally attended a game again. The very last game we saw was in 2019, when we got a foul ball as we headed home. If I have any complaints, it's a lack of vendors besides the ballpark offerings -- but this is only due to Covid-19 and safety protocols. You are guaranteed a fun evening with family and friends. We took in our very first Grasshopper game today. This ballpark has great sight lines from every seat. As we move into summer, I plan to buy seats on the 3rd base line for evening games. This will keep you in the Shade. The people seated around us were friendly and stayed engaged in the game for all nine innings. After the games, the Hoppers management offered a fireworks show. Mothers Day "All You Can Eat" Brunch Hello, I went to the mothers day all you can eat game today with my son, mom, and sister. On the flyer it says yall would have a variety of things to eat including fresh fruit, hash browns, cookies, etc. so imagine our surprise when we arrive at 1:30 (only 30 minutes in to the gates opening) and they had almost nothing. They put out one pan of hotdogs, one pan of sausage and bacon, and one of eggs after we got there. And we had to wait until after 2 to even see that. My sister is vegetarian. That means the only thing she could eat was the eggs because of the lack of food at an "all you can eat" brunch. I love the hoppers but to pay $30 a piece to have very very little food there that was cold or lukewarm was incredible disappointing. read more

we always would catch a couple of games each year (remember Casey the bat?). granted, we only got one game this year (a couple of days ago). went to get a beer and soda, spotted the tap that had the one i needed to get so i got in line for the soda first (longer line). i waited 10/12 minutes, ordered the soda, the girl started to draw it and stopped as i laid a $10 bill down (cash!). it seems cash is no good now. i had to go to another place, stand in line again. this was to buy a preloaded voucher ($1, $5, $10 or $20). there was no fee to buy a voucher, but what ever remains on the voucher at end of season is lost (4 or 5 games left). took my $10 voucher and got an $8.50 beer (oops, it's not really $8.50, the tax is now extra, so it's $9.07) and looks like i get to donate $0.93 to the ball club. i know things are tight and everything def costs. but that whole thing came across so badly.... i see myself driving the extra 30min each way for a rockers game. on a positive, good seats (we selected those however). most staff was friendly. parking was not too far away (again, not club affiliated). oh, they did take cash for the tickets, so go figure.... read more

Every other ballpark in North Carolina opens 90 minutes before game time but apparently Greensboro doesn't need the extra 30 minutes of revenue from food, souvenirs and whatever else. This is a first class ballpark right in the middle of the city. Parking not great but it's ok if your there at least a hour early. If not you have to park a mile away and walk. The food here is way overpriced but it's still not bad food. I ordered two hotdogs and a water and it was 13.50$. That to me was high I got two hotdogs at a MLB game cheaper but what can you do. The people who work here are really nice and they take good care of you while your there. I would recommend you coming here to enjoy a game.
