Had the chance to visit on multiple occasions and I can start off by saying, their pastries are delectable. On each visit I've tried various selections. So far I've tried, the cheesecake brownie, linzer tarts, cocoa cupcakes, raspberry cheesecake, brownie and shortbread heart cookies. All their products are fresh and have intricate flavor profiles. For instance, I can taste a hint of almond in their brownies. Customer service is welcoming and there is always a line, but everyone is served efficiently. The best Hamantaschen in the universe! Every year, I make a pilgrimage here in late Winter/ early Spring, around Purim (even though I am not Jewish), just to eat the Hamantaschen at Diane's bakery. Today, 3/7/26, Alex, the associate at the bakery counter, told me that the filling is a mixture of prune and apricot. The combo makes for a delicious dessert. Adorable baker with self serve breakfast. We came early and snagged a table. We opted for the BLT and the sweet potato BĘC. Everything was premade (in house) and heated up. Flavors were delicious. It's my go to place for angle cake and pecan pie! I don't even like pecans, but their pecan pie changed me! My entire family can't get enough of their pecan pie, which is steak house level good. Their angle cake is also unparalleled. Their food cafe is also a local favorite, a great place to purchase panini sandwiches or food boxes to go (great variety and charge by weight). Happy to finally check out this place! It's in an interesting area but the store environment is quite nice. You can sit indoor for AC or outdoor for fresh air and vitamin D. We stopped by for pastries. There are lots of choices, too bad there were not label or menu for the pastry section, we had to ask the lady what's this what's that (awkward to keep asking and hard to understand her accent). I liked the two pastries we got, both have good balances among flavors, nothing overpowering. $9 for both the raspberry cheesecake bar (?) and apricot lemon crumb (?). There are better bakery and coffee choices in the area. The whole service model leaves a great deal to be desired. Prices are similar to many bakeries in the area but the product does not match in quality. Only in an extreme pinch but thats really hard to imagine since their hours aren't great. read more

We were looking for a quick light bite for breakfast and noticed the back patio yesterday, so we figured why not lol A little pricy and a little confusing. If you walk in from the street, you are in their bakery. Lots and lots of options, from crumb cake, pies and so many other baked goods. Walk down the stair and you're in their 'deli' side. I think there had to be at least a dozen salad options, bean, beets, chicken and so many more - everything looked delish. They have a chalk board for the daily specials. Must son got the challah French toast, he said it was good. I was hoping for the breakfast panini but they were either out or it wasn't available. It's located right across a parking lot underneath Northern Blvd and has plenty of seating upstairs as well as in their patio space. I've been hearing about Diane's for the longest time and finally gave it a try a few months ago. I went back again recently for lunch. I wasn't disappointed either time... it's located in a convenient location elite parking, the staff was helpful, and the peach muffin I ordered to go was amazing! You can take but they also have limited seating. The store front sells their homemade goodies, and the rear has salads and sandwiches. From the outside it looks like an old-fashioned house and the inside is very quaint. Can't wait to return again soon! read more

This is a lovely spot with a huge amount of outdoor seating spread over 3 separate spaces, uncovered but with some umbrellas. The tiny storefront is where the baked good are, in the back is a small salad/soup/iced coffee/tea bar where you are helped to build a salad bar type salad. close to 11 dollars a pound is a bit steep but the quality is very nice and the access to the patio's beats sitting inside a dim restaurant. There is an upstairs space as well, and a few tables for 2 around the salad area. I was taken aback at 2 salads minimally adorned with one iced coffee & one iced tea totaling 38 dollars, but when broken down it really is not that atypical to spend 13+ on a salad, then 5 on the drinks each... I enjoyed the whole experience, and met my oldest friend who lives in Great Neck, so it was a happy medium and I look forward to returning soon. The lemon bars from this bakery were touted by Alex Guarneschelli from the Food Network as the "Best Thing [She] Ever Ate," so I, of course, bookmarked it as a place to try when/if the situation ever presented itself. So, of course, on our North Shore excursion in April, we found our way there to try them... and a few other things, too. Oh man, I hate when things don't quite live up to the hype. Presentation wise, this adorable little bakery gets 8 stars. I loved everything I viewed, and everything looked so delicious and amazing. They had lemon bars, rugelach, cookies, cakes, and tarts. I bought a lemon bar, a regular brownie, cheesecake brownie, a little basket of rugelach and another little basket of cute little cookies. Apparently, they don't know Ina Garten... or even if they do know her, they don't follow her way of baking, which is to add SALT in all baked items. With salt, it makes the flavors pop like you wouldn't believe. Without it, they just exist, without dancing on one's tongue. So when I tried the rugelach from here, it barely had flavor. The cookies were very mild. The brownies, esp. with all that chocolate, had no pop whatsoever, just miles of chocolate with nowhere to go. As for the lemon bars, they were good, yes, but a bit much lemon for my liking... almost bitter. Overall, I was disappointed, and we ended up throwing out most of what was purchased, even the lemon bars. All because of the missing salt and/or minimal flavor. And if they DO use salt, it was definitely missing from the batches of sweets that I bought. That said, the texture and presentation were very good. They were just missing on flavor. That's kind of a big deal to me. Anyway, I feel bad for not liking this place more. I really had high hopes for here, but I like flavors to "pop." I am adamant about it. read more

I lived in Roslyn for nearly 2 years, this hidden gem is only 2 minutes away from me and I can't believe I've never came here before! I've been going to Buttercooky Bakery for awhile now to get desserts to satisfy my sweet tooth cravings but after visiting Diane's Bakery today, I won't be returning there again. I came here on Super Bowl Sunday around 9am with the intention of getting a good pecan pie to eat after dinner. I actually did a Google search and this place popped up 2nd on the list, 1st one was way too far. Upon entering, I was fascinated by everything I saw behind the glass and throughout the store. Diane's literally had every kind of dessert out there (well maybe not every kind but you know what I mean)- scrumptious looking pies, cakes, tarts, muffins, butter cookies, brownies & breads even nicely packaged baked goods for on the go and gifting! You'll definitely find something good to satisfy your sweet tooth here! Not to mention, there's also a cafe in the back with a variety of salads, sandwiches, soups, paninis, quiches and weekend breakfast too plus 2 floors of seating. I got a freshly made pecan pie that was just brought out and ate half of it while watching the game. Honestly the best pecan pie I've ever had! So good! The last one I had was from a farm store around Halloween time and it was atrocious! This pecan pie was not overly sweet, smothered with delicious, crunchy pecans on top and the crust was my favorite part- so flakey and flavorful that melds perfectly with the filling although it was a bit runny and sticky. Last but not least, the girls working there were very friendly and helpful. The place looks simple on the outside but inside, it's another story. Small bakery, select fewer nice items. So for non commercial, original good quality a good find. Saw a cake there that they used to have more than ten years ago in their once Syosset location.. A truly hidden gem! It's literally tucked away in Roslyn under a bridge. If I didn't glance to my left while driving, I would have never realized it was there. Thank you to fellow Yelpers for your reviews of this place. Before discovering this place, my go to pie spot was Briermier Farms way out on LI. I'm so happy to find a place closer to home with amazing baked goods. You're greeted with the yummy smell of freshly baked pies, cookies and treats when you walk in. They have a nice selection displayed. It was hard to decide what to get. Thankfully they have a few pies that are sold in a smaller size. I decided to get a strawberry rhubarb pie, a banana cream pie (bc of the reviews on Yelp) and a slice of coffee cake. All were delicious, but I really enjoyed the strawberry rhubarb pie. The crust was so tender and flaky! I think I could've finished the whole thing on my own! They also have a cafe in the back that you can sit down and eat in. I definitely will come back for more pie and to try their brunch! read more

I've been back here several times now and each time I enter this small, crowded bakery, I bring home a delicious pie. I've tried a variety of their pies and the most memorable ones are the triple berry pie and pumpkin pie. Their strawberry rhubarb is disappointing. Service is usually quick and served with a smile. 4 stars. I occasionally will stop by the cafe and grab a healthy salad. I wish I could say the service was fast and friendly on this side but it's really not. When I came in last Sunday, I ordered my meal from a bunch of teenagers who clearly didn't enjoy their jobs. I was met with a lack of enthusiasm, cold/ distant responses and scanty portions. The service was painstakingly slowww, even the lady behind me was shaking her head. The line formed almost out the door not because of the salads but because of how slow the pace of the service was. I've never been to an establishment where it looked like the staff was made up of immature, rude kids. Thank goodness this place served good food or else I would never return. I'm not sure if it's because the boys in the cafe are poorly managed or if the cafe just hires boys that have no work experience; however, they need to reconsider revamping the team. I hope they fix this. This is really a 2 star review because of the absence of service but I added +1 for the food. read more

We love Diane's BUT we don't always get to order what we want because they're often sold out of our favorites -- like chili and tomato soup... If they always had what we wanted it would be perfect. Bc it bums us out when we have to pick something else we give 4 stars. *We love everything, but don't recommend the mac & cheese -- it's too dry after it's heated up... EVERYTHING ELSE chef's kiss. I'm a Roslyn resident and I come to Diane's all the time for coffee and baked goods. I invited new moms and dads from the Roslyn school today for a gathering at Diane's this morning to support local business. We had about 12 people. Sat outside at the patio where the shaded area was. Everybody all bought coffee and pastries. We arranged the tables and chairs in a long row so we could see each other. We were told by Diane, the owner, that she wasn't happy that we rearranged her tables and sat together in a row. Why? The place wasn't crowded with other guests. We all bought and paid for goods. I couldn't help but thinking that because we were all Asians?! I bet if it was a bunch of Jewish parents she would greet and welcome them with a smile. She could ask us kindly to put the tables and chairs back once we finish, which we did at the end. But with the unwelcoming remarks I will never come to support this business again. I don't say this lightly but I felt it was racism in every way. I'm truly disappointed. I like Diane's but the owner was truly unkind. read more

Wonderful food. We get their cookies for almost every major holiday and we absolutely love them. Look forward to them all year long. But the management and the service is abysmal. In the age of COVID-19 there is No Excuse not to have social distancing measures in place for an indoor operation. Period. It's a small and crowded bakery... so it's even more important they take this seriously. They don't. They need to make people wait on line outside. And they just fail to do this. The plum tart had an almond custard or marzipan - can't remember, but it was out of this world! The cookies - i've been eating since age 5 and they are so buttery and filled with goodness, they melt in your melt. The food is pretty good - great for on the go (gets a bit loud if you're planning on heading here for a weekend brunch) Always love the salmon and chicken. Came here for lunch on a weekday and this place was crowded, with barely anywhere to sit. We had to sit outside even though there was a light rain. That being said everyone that worked there was very nice and it was relatively easy to order. I had half of the quiche Lorraine, and a cup of their turkey chili. The quiche was absolutely delicious. Their is just something so great about eggs cheese and ham all nestled into a delicious flaky pie crust, it really just warms the soul. The cup of turkey chili was not as good as the quiche. It was very flavorful but for me I would have appreciated a bit more spice. Overall though the flavor was very good. Diane's bakery is a very cute cafe in Rosyln and definitely worth trying. I often go here for quick brunches or to grab a sweet treat, and absolutely adore Diane's for both their bakery section and kitchen/lunch section. The two golden stars of Diane's are definitely their 1) Turkey Chili and 2) Cheesecake bars; I actually dream of them sometimes. If you are not a fan of sweet chili with lots of beans and meat, and/or cheesecake bar, not too worry, because every other baked good is also amazing, and their salads, pastas, etc, are also very solid. Location wise also very nice! There is a parking lot, seating upstairs and downstairs, as well as a cute little outdoor patio for when the weather gets warmer. You can't go wrong with Diane's baked goods. This time we had the Apricot Almond Crumb Cake and Cinnamon Walnut Rugelach. So buttery and delicious. Perfectly cooked. I took off a star because they guy helping us was a little rude and not very helpful. After the crowd died a bit, we went back for a brownie and Raspberry Cheese crumb cake, the o woman who helped us was much nicer and congenial. It was almost as if the first guy didn't need to be that nice because Diane's will never have a shortage of patrons. It's probably true because their baked goods are that good. If we hadn't gone back for additional goodies to take to go, we wouldn't have met the woman who made up for the first guy. Anyway, I'm a fan of the food but this isn't the first time I thought the staff was gruff and not very friendly or helpful. Perhaps they are used to the patrons being rude. My go-to for chocolate mousse pie. Their linzer squares, you should get some of those too. Not sure that anywhere else compares to Diane's. If you get there early enough on the weekends, they make mini bacon & egg sandwiches on homemade sweet potato biscuits. SO GOOD. read more
