I live very close to this shop (walking distance) and have visited them a few times. I can't believe I haven't written a review for them. If I want to drive, there is ample street parking. This is a fairly large shop that is nice and bright and always clean. You can see that the owners take a lot of pride in their business. I started out eating their food ts some food display shows where they featured many of their items. Lately I have been going there to pick up breakfast. They have a small nook with tables and chairs if you want to sit, relax and enjoy your food there. They have more than a few refrigerators in their large shop with plenty of stock. They seem to have everything. They have an amazing selection of food for lunch and a special salad grouping for your customized salads. Many local people have catered from here and I only hear great things about their food and service. On 2/26/24, a friend surprised me with a delivery of various food items from this deli. Items included beef enchiladas, eggplant parm, macaroni and cheese, various croquettes, salad, and really good garlic bread. Everything arrived neatly and tasted great. These guys are nothing but amazing. I was going to give them 5 stars even before I tried their amazing food. Picked up a ton of food for a party, and they were nothing but helpful, but they are also funny guys that made the stress of planning much easier. Had a graduation party for my daughter and Michael walked my wife and I through everything. I'm not over stating that the food was excellent. Michael even called the night before to make sure we were all set up. Even though I told him we were fine, he still provided all of the "serving" stuff that we might need. 1. His service is so helpful and he is a nice guy. 2. The food is plentiful and really is gourmet. Everyone loved it. Everyone. 3. The price is very fair right off the bat. No games. The only negative I can think of is that after eating the leftovers and not being able to restrain myself I really need to go on a diet now and hit the gym! read more

I can't believe I haven't written a review yet for this one. I am practically a regular. All the guys & gal, recognize me when I enter, and I them. They have really good eats over all. Have never been utterly disappointed. They make the best breakfast (egg) wraps. Seriously, don't even try to order something like that at the Mineola Bagel place a few blocks east of them. Theirs tastes like farts. Yep, no joke. The Long Island Gourmet Deli does it right. They have tons of processed snacks if you're craving something less healthy. Their prices are slightly higher than some of the other local delis, but that makes up for the greater quality you're receiving. Try their salad combinations (they have a small menu and a plaque up on the wall with available shenanigans), or make your own salad! Their teriyaki salmon is delish. They have amazing spinach patties. Thier David's Cookies are yummy too! (sometimes you can snag them off of the oven tray when they're cooling before they get placed on the shelves). They have a small nook with tables and chairs for when you have the time or need the time away from the office to eat your eats. They have more than a few refrigerators so if you want a certain type of drink, they probably have it.... and even if they do not.... if you suggest it, they will add it to their inventory if you think you'll be frequenting more often. They have weird hours, which is why I gave it four stars. I feel like with so much variety they could stay open later. Usually during the week they close at 3:30pm?? I always mix up the times. Some times my lunch time doesn't start till right when they close, and I head over there and then, I have to turn around and head somewhere else. If I do get there right before they close, though, then they let me stay and eat, even though it may be in the dark. One has to respect that they are getting ready to leave for the day. I also deducted a star because sometimes they're cleaning when others are eating. (aka: spreading gross dust onto your eats). I've never had a horrible experience, and if one does, I'm sure they'd take back whatever was given and get you something else if you didn't like it. Happy eats! read more

From homemade dressings to hot chafing tray lunches to breakfast; this deli has made food consistently well for the almost 20 years I've been going there. Want fresh cold cuts for the week? They got you. Coffee from a local distributor? Yup! Chopped salads are freshly prepared and usually good for more than one meal. Grab and go items range from your basic Wise chip to local and sometimes; hard to find, more specific and oftentimes healthier options. Bob upfront and Mike (owner) do more than just memorize your orders. They take moments to connect with patrons and become more friends than staff. It's always an inviting environment. For my money; onion roll, double fried bacon cheese with their homemade honey mustard (trust me) for breakfast. Lunch: just get the chicken burrito with melted cheddar on top with a side of their spicy dill sauce. But really??? You can't miss with whatever they offer. read more

Long Island Gourmet just went above and beyond from start to finish. They catered my cousins graduation party and I swear half the party had to be rolled out by the end. There truly was something for everyone. From the shellfish tower of lobster tails, oysters and shrimp to mini quesadillas, beautifully displayed roasted vegetables, and who could forget their famous croquettes- with that cilantro sauce on the side- sorry I'm getting hungry again just thinking about them. What can I say? IT WAS ALL AMAZING! Also, staff was so friendly. An absolute delight to be around. Altogether a 10/10. I have to have them for my next party. read more

Fresh deli with a variety of items. Great for catering. Got a lunch catered at our office. Very accommodating with paper goods and they actually give the salad dressing in a squeeze bottle with a cap! instead of other places putting them in a plastic container and then it gets all over the place... overall very good, i'll keep coming back as long as they stay consistent! read more

When I hear the word "Gourmet" I think quality food and a taste that can only be described as homemade. But coming to "Long Island Gourmet" they lowered my expectations in what that word means. I came to the curbside parking and walked in. I was impressed with how clean the place was and loved the organization. It was a slow day so I shot the breeze with a nice gentleman behind the counter. I placed my order and found the food to be a bit pricy, also for the "hungry man" the cheese wasn't included, there was a extra charge for that. Hold on!!! Stop the review, where on this planet known as Earth does a "hungry man" come without cheese? (Did I mention I love cheese) back to the review. The guy making my food wasn't so nice, I tried asking for some mayo but didn't feel he cared what I wanted. I'm glad I didn't because maybe there was a extra charge for that, but I never found out because the cook wasn't pleasant enough to talk to. I got my meal and went to the safety of my car to eat. I figured I can at least enjoy my sandwich, right? It's like this I try to give my honest opinion and be true about the food. With that being said I absolutely did not enjoy the sandwich. The bacon was flavorless, how can that be? The sausage was bland, so it didn't help. Plus they charged for cheese! Even if the food was delicious, the fact that they don't honor the structure of a hungry man tipped the review wrong. I have them two stars because it was clean and the gentleman at the register was nice. But that's not enough to get me to get another sandwich there. It's sad because I really wanted to like the place. I guess it's safe to say you never get in the way of a man and his cheese. read more

My office orders lunch from here every once in a while and we're never disappointed. They have a wide variety of sandwiches, fabulous salads, and low-carb selections to choose from. I especially love their salads because of the amount of stuff they put in them (not just lettuce!). They also make their own low-fat salad dressings. Most of their salads don't really need dressing, but its still yummy :) Since we normally order delivery, the time they take is rather efficient. We can usually expect them to come approx 45 mins after placing our call. read more

What a special find; I can't say enough about LI Gourmet. I wanted to send food to my brother's spouse and caregiver who's juggling daily visits to the hospital along with a demanding full time job. When I spoke with Mike, he was immediately empathetic to the situation; could not have been more kind, more detail oriented, or more professional. He even offered to write a nice note on our behalf to include with the order, said "we'll make sure they're well fed" and also assured me he'd make everything look appealing. I ordered Family Dinner #1 to provide several days' meals. The food arrived on time the next morning as requested, and my sister-in law was extremely appreciative to have great dinner food ready to go for the next few days. Where do I begin?! THE MOST AMAZING FOOD AND CATERERS!! My husband and I are having our first baby and wanted to make the baby shower a very special one. Not only is Michael and very personable and professional guy, he is thorough, extremely detail oriented and ensures that even the smallest detail is beyond perfect. Now, lets talk about the food. The most amazing food I have ever had at a party! Michael can prepare any cuisine you would like and considering this was our first catered event we wanted a little bit of everything. Not only was able to satisfy even the pickiest palettes and diets, he was able to have my guest requesting more food from the absolutely wonderful waitresses he provided to help host our event. We are from a Spanish background and the empanadas here were to absolutely die for. I had vegetarian guest eating meat empanadas and not feeling one ounce of guilt over it. We requested red sangria at our event and next to empanadas people were raving how it was amazing and perfect! All of food we had catered was so good people were asking if they can take some home. Something I have never witnessed at a catered event before. As i mentioned earlier, Michael sent over two beautiful ladies (Carmen and Christine) to help us caterer the event and pass appetizers, serve food, even help us setup all of the decor and clean up. These ladies were amazing! Not only were they extremely professional but had the order of when to uncover food, when to serve, when to cut the cake down packed to a science. Being 9 months pregnant my only concern was to mingle and take pictures. They were courteous, attentive, and hard working. I love this deli and have gone there MANY times over the years. They have delicious healthy prepared foods,sandwiches and a great assortment of drinks and sides. They make fresh salads to order and have fresh soup daily. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly and when I'm not sure what to eat they have often make great suggestions. Just last week I had a "killer" salad and Bobby suggested I top it off with a veggie burger (which I'd never tried before). He suggested the cucumber dill dressing with a dash of hot sauce. I was reluctant,but tried it and it was wonderful. I am a frequent customer - I use them often for catering for both work and personal functions. The staff are very helpful in helping you decide what to order, etc. My favorite items that I order are the chicken allison, pasta toscano and seafood paella - they are all delicious. My family always wants leftovers before they leave when I order from here. Oh - I also recommend that you try their graham cracker hot or iced coffee - it is really good and unique. Absolutely terrible experience. Went in there for the first time and got something off there hot food line. Spanish chicken and rice. First they tell me it's ready so I ask to try a piece of chicken. She gives me a piece on a fork it was ice cold. So I say I will order it but I want it hot. They say no problem and take about 8 mins to "make it hot". I get to the register and all I picked up was a diet soda. They charged me 12 dollars. For Spanish stew chicken and rice on the side. Outraged by the price I didn't say anything and paid and left. I get two blocks away and pull over to eat my lunch as I was working on the road. Chicken is STILL ice cold. Rice is even colder. Chicken was all cheap meat and very fatty. I paid 12 dollars for complete garbage. I paid 12 dollars for this meal so I forced myself to eat some of it even though it was ice cold. End result. 10 out of 10 heartburn and I would never go back and I will also make sure to tell everyone I know of my experience.
