    Blueberry Pancakes
    Aba H.

It's at the junction of Old Country Road and East Gate Boulevard. My wife had been here before and said the food was good. I'd passed it often before and saw lines out the door with no spots in their parking lot. Fast forward years later, "quite early one morning," we made it to Thomas's by 7:30 A.M., where only one gent was at a counter stool, and only a few tables taken. The music was light rock and we recognized and enjoyed most of the songs. Our waitress immediately ushered us to a corner table with menus. My wife ordered their eggs Benedict (poached over Canadian bacon and an English muffin with Hollandaise sauce), but regretted not substituting sliced tomatoes for the home fries that came with it. I ordered the blueberry pancakes with sugar free syrup. The blueberries were large and plentiful and the pancakes were prepared by an experienced cook (a conclusion based upon my numerous inconsistent attempts to make them correctly for myself). My wife liked their relatively light coffee, but I didn't. Although it was light, which was obvious the moment I added a drop of half-and-half (from those tiny plastic cups), it was bitter. Although she quickly became busy, our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Thomas's was almost packed when we left at 8:00 A.M.

I've heard a lot of good things about Thomas's, so as I was in the area and looking for a place to get breakfast, I decided to check it out. This was on a weekend so the restaurant was very crowded. The parking lot was full, so I had to wait for someone to leave. To my surprise, I didn't have to wait for a table and was seated immediately. I ordered the Stuffed Mixed Berry French Toast. In case you're wondering, it really, really tasted like berries! It was good and very sweet. I would return here for brunch. The price is reasonable and the service was good. The seating is a bit cramped, which is expected for such a popular brunch spot.

My family's breakfast was horrible. The home fries was burnt. The eggs were dry no seasoning. The pancakes was dry. There was nothing appealing about this breakfast at all my wife omelette. There was no cheese. They gotta get a new cook there home fries the worst were burnt to a crisp who can eat this.

My check--too much for mediocre food

I came here on Sunday 11/23/25 around 10:40 am. The hostess took my name and cell phone number to text me when a seat was available at the counter where I requested to sit. At 11:00, I saw that a seat was available, but she never got around to sending me a text notification, so she apologized. I ordered the following special: cheese grits with bacon (sub bacon for chicken sausage) and fried eggs (sub fried eggs for scrambled). The cheese grits were delicious, but the sausage and the eggs left a lot to be desired. I expected chicken sausage akin to Aidell's, a tasty smoked chicken and apple sausage that I purchase at Costco; and I could have done a better job scrambling the eggs myself because they lacked the creamy, fluffy and savory taste that I crave. I also ordered a Sprite, which was not as bubbly as it could have been. I have read some previous reviews, which state that the restaurant is cash only. They now accept debit and credit cards. Thomas's Ham & Eggery has a lot of hype. I have tried this place four times, and each time the food did not meet my expectations. It is too expensive for what it has to offer, so I will not be back.

I really don't think I could ask for more from a breakfast/brunch spot. They were so accommodating to myself and my family when it came to putting a table together for 7 of us. The menu had so many things on it that I wanted to try, it was hard to choose! We opted to try a few different things. I loved their homemade sausage! Everything was absolutely delicious and we all left full and satisfied. Our server was friendly and attentive. Would definitely come back here!

I was Minus Eleven years of age when Thomas's Ham & Eggery commenced their eggcellent run in 1946. I have been lucky to experience the love, hospitality, generosity, amazing food and fun conversations that can only happen in NY as in naturally becoming best friends with your b fast neighbor on the next chair at the counter; this is my sixth time here since 2000. This diner has stayed consistent: 1) Gorgeous comfort food served in skillets that bring out that big aaaaaah and smile at first glance. 2) fantastic service for servers who are fun and spunky. Ann Marie, just back from her family vacation in Boston today was a hoot. 3) so much warmth from the lovely Greek owners. It was a pleasure seeing and speaking with Pete in Greek today. 4) with that familiar warm nostalgic take me back to the 50s and 60s home vibe. Just like Mom made it and brought it to you. 5) Great size portions . The menu is huge. The specials are wonderful. Love the muffins and the fresh cookies at the counter. Love the support staff. Thank you to Brandon for seating me and also looking after me. See you again in about 4 years! Love it!

Stopped in for breakfast during a visit to Long Island for a family function. A small old time classic diner with excellent service and food. This place was established in the 1940's. Large menu serving food all day, 7 days per week. They have all the favorite breakfast, lunch and dinner foods. I had a ham & swiss omelette with home fries, rye toast and coffee. The coffee is good and hot, and servers are constantly refilling your cup. There are too many menu items to list. There is a small parking lot and street parking behind the diner.

What can I say that hasn't already been said about Thomas's Ham & Eggery? There's a reason why you'll always see a line formed outside of this place around breakfast time -- it's because it's that damn good. The vibe of this place is very old school diner. It feels like the decor of this place hasn't changed in decades, but in a good, nostalgic way. On my most recent visit my mom and I were able to be seated immediately, which is honestly a rare treat. I was here because I'd seen their bulgogi eggs benedict special on Instagram and had to have it. My mom decided to go with the pastrami omelet and added swiss cheese and onions to it. Everything about this meal was perfect, per usual. My bulgogi was impeccably marinated, served with crispy home fries. My mom's omelet was cooked just right as well. Highly recommend anything that comes in a skillet here. This place just knows how to do eggs right.

I just noticed I reviewed this place back in 2015 and only gave it 4 stars because back then they only took cash. Fast forward to 2026 and its still one of my favorite breakfast spots and they take credit for some time now. Food is always excellent and so is the service. Don't skip on the specials as they have never let me down.

Great as always . But this time, secret is coming early and no crowds and no waiting! But who can come at 7:30 am? Anyway, service was amazing and quick. Food was delish and portion LARGE. Refilled my coffee repeatedly without ever having to ask! Beautiful baked goods. Small parking lot in back, when crowded, which is the norm, would have to park on the street. Most food served on skillet. My frittata so so big, I had to take literally half of it home! Worth the price and delish .

    Biscuit with hollandaise sauce

From the line that I've seen outside I assumed I would enjoy my meal but you know what they say about assuming. Got biscuit with chicken sausage hollandaise sauce and the presentation was nice but the food wasn't hot and the potatoes weren't cooked well and the onion in it was raw and huge chunks. This is a one and done for me.

Late breakfast The food is delish and service is great! Great server Rosemary was very nice and checked on us to ask us about our food. I recommend everyone and anyone to come and have a meal.

I had a great experience on my first visit to Thomas's Ham & Eggery. When I arrived, there was a bit of a line, but they moved quickly and the wait was very short. I got a great booth seat, and the place has a classic diner feel. The coffee is endless they never let your cup get anywhere near empty. The food was excellent I ordered the chicken and waffles and loved it. I'll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend it's not just your average diner.

When we got there we met Frank, who took care of us the entire night and also remembered speaking to us on the phone. He was so awesome and made us feel like we have been going there for years, when it was actually our first time! We told him we were going to a 7:00 show, and he not only got us out at the time we needed, but made us feel relaxed, never rushed and made sure we had an awesome experience, which we did! The food and service was exceptional! Everyone's entree was amazing! I can't say enough about how good this food was. I had the special which was sea bass, and it was so delicious and cooked perfectly. My husband had the chicken rollatini, also amazing! Everyone was so happy with their dishes, and loved everything they ordered. This place is so awesome that I wish it wasn't so far away from us. Frank told us they have music on Friday nights, and we are all going to go back at some point just for this restaurant. It is so worth the drive! The decor is also great, especially if you love Marylin Monroe, and the atmosphere is so relaxed you feel like you are eating in your own dining room at home! Thank you to Frank and the rest of the staff for a truly great dining experience! We will be back!

The restaurant has a beautiful, bright, modern atmosphere that feels much more upscale than its surroundings. Based on other reviews, the standout dishes seemed to be the grilled Spanish octopus and the SB Smash Burger, so I ordered both. Unfortunately, the execution fell short in several areas. The East Coast oysters arrived with mignonette but without horseradish or oyster forks--small details, but noticeable oversights. The oysters, octopus, and burger were all tasty, but the presentation of octopus and burger was surprisingly sloppy, as though little attention had been paid when the dishes left the kitchen. The bar also was understaffed. A single bartender was serving both the bar and the entire dining room, which led to waits for drinks. My bartender was friendly, attentive, and worked hard, but one person simply wasn't enough. I finished with the Key Lime Custard, which had what appeared to be a layer of shredded cereal on the bottom. I wasn't sure what it was. The dessert itself was enjoyable, though I think a base of toasted sliced almonds with a few fried blueberries on top of it would have added better texture and complemented the flavors more effectively. One nice perk is the validated valet parking, for a reduced fee, which makes arriving and leaving especially convenient given the mall location. The whiskey selection could also be improved by adding a few more interesting, off-the-beaten-path single malts or blends. Overall, the kitchen shows promise! And perhaps I came on an off night. With better attention to presentation, appropriate bar staffing, and a more adventurous choice of spirits, Small Batch could deliver an experience that better matches its reputation.

The parking situation was not too bad on early evening during the weekday, but I could totally see it get out of hand on the weekends, so plan accordingly. We were sat right away and the lovely server dropped a basket of bread while we peered through the menu. The free bread is quite good. We were all starving, so the cheesy chewy bread was great to munch on. I am also much more forgiving about a bit of wait for food if there is free bread being offered. It was also nice because we were seated right by the kitchen window, so it was like getting a dinner and a show. We got the Saporite, which reminded me of a Costco chicken bake with its creamy innards punctuated by grilled chicken. This is my brothers favorite, and I could see why. We also had the spaghetti seafood, which was so richly flavored with the seafood. I'm not sure I ever had Italian pasta so full of that umami seafood flavor. Truly wow. The ravioli verde was something we got to add something not-tomato based & it was an excellent choice. The sauce was verdant and creamy. The ravioli filling didn't feel like straight ricotta but I liked whatever they had done to it! The chicken parm was also a solid choice, good breading on hefty cutlets of chicken and a nice helping of charred cheese on top. We liked every single dish, and the portions were more than enough to feed all of us and leave leftover for the next day. I was especially touched by the professionalism of the young servers during what was becoming an increasingly crowded dinner service. We got extra bread, waters filled, and to go boxes promptly. The hype was surprisingly real. I guess I should not be surprised that a place that's been around since my childhood has withstood the test of time because it was good. Will revisit soon for lunch service.

The restaurant is clean, and the service is friendly. The food and menu, however, weren't really to my liking. Not knowing that this was a health-conscious restaurant, when I was asked if I wanted something to drink, I replied with "Diet Coke." That's when our server explained the health concept of the place and mentioned that they didn't carry soda. I was a bit confused because of the amount of alcohol I saw on the menu and at the bar after hearing about the health angle. He suggested a drink similar to ginger ale, but since that drink would cost more than a beer, I went with the beer instead. Now, moving on to the food: the charred cauliflower wasn't bad (could've used a bit more char), but the main dishes were disappointing. The tuna poke bowl didn't look appetizing, and the rice didn't seem fully cooked. The all-American burger also missed the mark. I asked for it medium-well, but it was closer to medium. It wasn't terrible in terms of cooking, but it lacked flavor. I'm not sure if the burger was properly seasoned, because all I tasted was cooked ground beef, a bit of Thousand Island dressing, and bread. The fries were okay--not bad for a restaurant that chooses to air-fry instead of deep-fry to be healthier. However, the ketchup, which I had to request, tasted like standard commercial ketchup. It didn't have the "smoky, tangy with the right amount of kick" flavor described on the company's Instagram.
