Thomas's is everything that you wish for in a true diner experience. From the minute you walk in, you're greeted by their friendly staff members. The interior gives that nostalgic retro diner feel. On a Saturday afternoon, our wait was about 25-30 mins, but it flew by quickly. Thomas's is beyond generous with their portions from the egg skillets to the pancakes. Prices are extremely reasonable for the portions. And most importantly, everything here is absolutely delicious. My fiance & I ordered two orders of the blueberry pancakes, which was a mistake because of how MASSIVE each order was; we could've easily split one. We also ordered the sides of corned beef hash and ham steak. Highly highly recommend both. The corned beef hash is SO delicious & homemade, and the ham steak is huge! The staff here are really lovely and attentive. Our coffee cups never went empty. Parking is available on site, but incredibly difficult to get a spot. I wouldn't bet on parking here - be prepared to park elsewhere and walk over. Definitely our new go to diner spot! read more

I visited this little diner while in NY, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff, and clean interior. We were seated immediately and our server took our orders. I had the croissant French toast, which was incredible. Flaky outside and was and gooey inside. Even though it was busy the restaurant had a lively welcoming atmosphere.Considering how crowded it was the service was great. I have driven past this place for years and the parking lot has always been filled and lines of waiting customers. They have about 15 spaces. This past week we went at an off time and were able to get a parking spot and a table. That's the good part. Service was friendly and fast. Unfortunately my food was bland. I had a pastrami omelette with home fries, no onions or pepper or any flavor in the potatoes or the omelette for that matter. The portions were good but leftover bland food takes a lot of doctoring. The pancakes were large. It's not a huge menu so I don't think any of us will be returning. Typical diner decor everything was clean. It's at the junction of Old Country Road and East Gate Boulevard. My wife had been here before and said the food was good. I'd passed it often before and saw lines out the door with no spots in their parking lot. Fast forward years later, "quite early one morning," we made it to Thomas's by 7:30 A.M., where only one gent was at a counter stool, and only a few tables taken. The music was light rock and we recognized and enjoyed most of the songs. Our waitress immediately ushered us to a corner table with menus. My wife ordered their eggs Benedict (poached over Canadian bacon and an English muffin with Hollandaise sauce), but regretted not substituting sliced tomatoes for the home fries that came with it. I ordered the blueberry pancakes with sugar free syrup. The blueberries were large and plentiful and the pancakes were prepared by an experienced cook (a conclusion based upon my numerous inconsistent attempts to make them correctly for myself). My wife liked their relatively light coffee, but I didn't. Although it was light, which was obvious the moment I added a drop of half-and-half (from those tiny plastic cups), it was bitter. I came here on Sunday 11/23/25 around 10:40 am. The hostess took my name and cell phone number to text me when a seat was available at the counter where I requested to sit. At 11:00, I saw that a seat was available, but she never got around to sending me a text notification, so she apologized. I ordered the following special: cheese grits with bacon (sub bacon for chicken sausage) and fried eggs (sub fried eggs for scrambled). The cheese grits were delicious, but the sausage and the eggs left a lot to be desired. I expected chicken sausage akin to Aidell's, a tasty smoked chicken and apple sausage that I purchase at Costco; and I could have done a better job scrambling the eggs myself because they lacked the creamy, fluffy and savory taste that I crave. I also ordered a Sprite, which was not as bubbly as it could have been. I have read some previous reviews, which state that the restaurant is cash only. They now accept debit and credit cards. Thomas's Ham & Eggery has a lot of hype. I have tried this place four times, and each time the food did not meet my expectations. I was Minus Eleven years of age when Thomas's Ham & Eggery commenced their eggcellent run in 1946. I have been lucky to experience the love, hospitality, generosity, amazing food and fun conversations that can only happen in NY as in naturally becoming best friends with your b fast neighbor on the next chair at the counter; this is my sixth time here since 2000. This diner has stayed consistent: 1) Gorgeous comfort food served in skillets that bring out that big aaaaaah and smile at first glance. 2) fantastic service for servers who are fun and spunky. Stopped in for breakfast during a visit to Long Island for a family function. A small old time classic diner with excellent service and food. This place was established in the 1940's. Large menu serving food all day, 7 days per week. They have all the favorite breakfast, lunch and dinner foods. I had a ham & swiss omelette with home fries, rye toast and coffee. There's a reason why you'll always see a line formed outside of this place around breakfast time -- it's because it's that damn good. The vibe of this place is very old school diner. It feels like the decor of this place hasn't changed in decades, but in a good, nostalgic way. On my most recent visit my mom and I were able to be seated immediately, which is honestly a rare treat. I was here because I'd seen their bulgogi eggs benedict special on Instagram and had to have it. My mom decided to go with the pastrami omelet and added swiss cheese and onions to it. Everything about this meal was perfect, per usual. My bulgogi was impeccably marinated, served with crispy home fries. My mom's omelet was cooked just right as well. Have been here several times and always awesome! We came here on a late Saturday morning and it was still hopping. There were six of us so we had to wait, about 30 minutes, not too bad. Definitely worth the wait. Once we were seated our waitress came over and took our order. Coffee came out quickly. I wasn't too hungry so I ordered the 2 eggs scrambled with a bagel, my wife ordered the sliders and the rest ordered their meals, I don't recall what they had, all breakfast items. Ore meals came in a little while, they were quite busy as usual. My portion was much larger than I thought it would be. 2 eggs looked more like 3 or 4 and came with home fries, a very large portion. Then my bagel. Wow, all were good and could not finish my meal. We all enjoyed our breakfast with large portions. Thomas's never disappoints! I came home for my friends retirement. I wanted to come to Thomas's for breakfast. I haven't been here since 1996. I moved to Florida in '98 & have told my wife about this place for years. The food is just as good as it's always been. The service from our waitress was incredible!!!!!!, & the nice man making sure we always had a hot cup of coffee was there. This is elevated diner food, quality of the food is what you'd get in a fancy city cafe or restaurant. Everything was so good. I got one of the current specials forgot the name but it's eggs Benedict with home fries (extra crispy ofc) with ham, a slice of cheese over an English muffin and drenched with the perfect hollandaise sauce. My stomach was legit smiling inside. Hubs got an egg sandwich with home fries which he loved as well and a side of corned beef hash which was yummy. I got a banana cream pie to go cuz I was stuffed but knew I had to try one of their desserts and I'm glad I did! It's not too sweet, the perfect amount of sweetness and hits the sweet tooth spot. Its located right off a main street with a small parking lot out front that was full of cars at all times (which is always a good sign though), so your best bet is to park in the residential neighborhood up the street. We had no wait getting a table and the servers are hilarious and hard working. The only downside is the service itself was very very slow. I'd say about 15-20 minutes passed before we ordered, and then when it came time for the check we couldn't get a hold of our waiter so we ended up just bringing it to the front and hoping someone could check us out at the cash register (which is what we ended up doing). We started with a grilled and butter cinnamon roll muffin for the table which was delicious. Perfectly warm and crisp, and a great sweet treat for breakfast. I got the turkey club with no bacon and it was so delicious. Highly recommend. I would totally order this again. Everyone else seemed satisfied with their breakfast meals so it might be tough coming here if you're in a hurry, but on the other hand, it's nice that they're in no rush to kick you out. :) read more

First, I think it's an adorable name, so I had to get some eggs at the eggery. The eggs are served with home fries and a meat (in my case, bacon) all together in a little skillet pile. It was a hearty meal and the presentation was cute. We also shared the more dessert-like stuffed berry French toast - with cream cheese, mascarpone, and mixed berries. I had the best serve Ana, I believe was her name (sorry if I got that wrong!). She had blonde hair and glasses and was incredibly attentive, especially considering how busy it was.
